Crackle Bath Bomb from Lush
Today I am reviewing the recently released Crackle Bath Bomb from Lush’s 2024 World Bath Bomb Day collection.Out of the 29 bath bombs, Crackle is the only charity one. 100% of the sales price (minus government tax) will go to Dexter’s Arc, a children’s cancer charity funding non-animal testing research into Rhabdomyosarcoma. You can find out more about Dexter’s Arc (here).Just like me, Dexter…

Bath bomb time! This one’s a double review, and now I’m high-tech enough to use tumblr’s gif function. Both of these bath bombs are part of the holiday line-up - meaning they’re limited edition. ;D
Up top is Christmas Sweater, which takes its inspiration from ugly Christmas sweaters - hence the reindeer motif. With spices like clove, its purpose is to make your bath feel warm and cozy, like bathing in a liquid blanket.
Personally, the smell turned me off at first. But I ended up with two of them so I figured I’d go for it. As with all bath bombs, getting it into water dulled the scent down, so the actual bath went fine. I could feel the effect of the spices; the water had a warm, tingly sensation. I could almost swear that the water didn’t cool down very much..?
Next up is Thundersnow, and this one I was super psyched to try. It’s named for a rare weather phenomenon in which lightning/thunder occurs during a snowstorm. I’ve seen an actual thundersnow once, and it was pretty cool, so I was drawn to the bath bomb from the beginning. It has a chocolate-mint scent, and pop rocks to crackle a la lightning and thunder.
I definitely enjoyed this one as well. It gets a few extra points over Christmas Sweater, if only because I liked the smell before it got in the water. Watching the colours swirl around with the chunks of white made it look like a cool, cartoon snow storm. And yes, the pop rocks were a nice little special effect. Plus, having it in the water brought out more of the chocolate scent out of the chocolate-mint.
Basically, it smelled like bathing in Nesquik cereal, but sounded like bathing in Rice Crispies.
So that’s the Christmas Sweater and the Thundersnow bath bombs! Thanks for your time. I have a few more Lush posts in the works about products other than bath bombs, so do keep an eye out.

Mystic Music Soaps Review
Mystic Music Soaps is the new kid on the indie bath product block, but Annette (the owner/creator) has been quietly perfecting recipes and has produced some really gorgeous soaps and candles. She’s also working on bath bombs and bubble bars, which I am super excited about. I am very, very impressed with these soaps. I am admittedly a soap snob since I have been purchasing from indie brands, and Mystic Music Soaps offers a thick, creamy lather that doesn’t leave my sensitive skin dry. It’s a wonderful formula. Pricing is very, very reasonable. 5 oz bars are priced from $5-$7, and some are currently on sale for 3 for $10. 6 oz soy candles are currently $7.
Scent reviews!
Oh My Gourd!
Scent description: sugar pumpkin, orange, sweet butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple layered onto a delicious base of Madagascar vanilla.
Oh My Gourd is the beautiful orange, black, and, white soap pictured above. It’s a really great pumpkin spice scent. It’s a strongly scented allspice blend with a hefty dose of cinnamon and a drizzle of warm butter and a dollop of pumpkin purée. Seasonally appropriate for all of you lovers of spiced pumpkin scents!
Autumn Equinox
Scent description: crisp, fallen leaves, acorns, and pine cones sprinkled with hints of vanilla, sweet musk, and cedar notes. Top notes of green mingled with middle notes of lavender and violet drying down into bottom notes of vanilla, musk, cedar, and wood.
Atmospheric and moody. This one smells like a fall breeze in a forest. I get dry leaves and twigs, a touch of soil, and a bit of ozone. I love this one. I tend to prefer outdoorsy scents, and this one scratches the itch for “I don’t live in a place where it’s 90 degrees in October and I’m actually taking a walk in a chilly, autumnal forest in New England.” Sigh.
Fire Fox
Scent description: white patchouli artistically blended with a cream accord to create the smoothest patchouli bar you’ve ever experienced.
This scent is my current favorite! It’s very well-blended and a bit hard to describe. Honestly, it doesn’t smell like patchouli to me. It smells like a Lush scent—maybe like 29 High Street? It’s cool, with a touch of something herbal and citrusy. It’s beautiful, and I recommend it even if you typically don’t love patchouli scents.
Ode to Summer
Scent description: clean ocean air, sea spray, driftwood, and sea moss.
Holy smokes, this is the prettiest soap! I had to take it to the beach to photograph it—it was only proper. This smells very authentically beachy, like warm, sand-crusted driftwood, salt water, a warm breeze, and a bit of dried seaweed. It’s not a sharp, fake ocean scent—it’s a little gritty. I love it!
Dragonfly
Scent description: lemongrass, bergamot, rosewood, verbena, violet leaf, and pine.
This one is my second favorite. It is cool and herbal, with a citrusy zing from the lemongrass. It’s a beautiful, clean scent. It’s very well-blended.
Frazier Fir Wooden Wick Soy Candle
Scent description: mild citrus top notes and an earthy, woody, balsam core.
I had never heard of using wooden wicks before, and was excited to give this a try! It was a really relaxing and fun experience. It’s my new favorite type of wick. It crackled like a campfire and I squealed like a kid while it burned. It was a smooth burn, no smoke or anything crazy like that. The scent was very Christmas-y and happy! The scent description was spot on: festive balsam with a hint of citrus. The throw was incredible, but not overwhelming—I could clearly smell it throughout my entire downstairs.
I highly recommend Mystic Music Soaps! The owner is a truly lovely, kind person and her products are stunning. I’m looking forward to future offerings!

LUSH The Experimenter Bath Bomb Review
I was planning on something completely different for today, but the product I was going to feature has yet to arrive so instead I thought I would do a review on a bath bomb I have been loving since last month instead. This bath bomb from LUSH is called The Experimenter. It gives off such vibrant colors and you get to listen to crackling popping candy as the colors swirl around your tub. Plus it smells divine with fragrances of fair trade vanilla and tonka absolutes. I instantly get brought back to childhood as these smell similar to Zebra gum... though I might be very off on that.
This is something that LUSH has out year round. And costs $8.95. And I seriously love it! It makes my skin feel so soft and smooth, plus I absolutely love the scent!

Sodium Bicarbonate , Citric Acid , Fragrance , Popping Candy (Isomalt, Lycasin, Carbon Dioxide) , Vetivert Oil (Vetiveria zizanoides) , Tonka Absolute (Dipteryx odorata) , Fair Trade Vanilla Absolute (Vanilla Planifolia) , Cream of Tartar (Potassium bitartrate) , Water (Aqua) , Titanium Dioxide , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Lauryl Betaine , Propylene Glycol , *Coumarin , *Eugenol , *Limonene , *Linalool , Calcium Sodium Borosilicate , Tin Oxide , Gold Glimmer Lustre (Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Iron Oxides, Silica) , Blue 1 , Red 27 , Red 28 , Yellow 8 , Red 4 , Red 33 . *Occurs naturally in essential oils.
