BALDUR'S GATE 3 PROMPTS | ACCEPTING
𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙳𝚘𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛 doesn't usually run into someone else twice. When the TARDIS landed, The Doctor's crew thought HILL VALLEY in the year 2015 was a tad bit boring until they stepped out to see the city and streets. Enraptured by the flying cars and the digital holographics, the crew wandered around for a shopping trip. With Stella wandering around with Lennox and Niko, she'd be sure to keep them in check when avoiding potential paradoxical situations. The Doctor, meanwhile, wanted to wander around quietly and examine this timeline herself. She wondered what had prompted such an extreme advancement in Earth's culture, but that thought stopped when she saw something familiar. Parked parallelly, overlooking the courthouse—
"The DeLorean?" The Doctor mused quietly, approaching it and stepping around it. Examining it softly, she leaned in when she reached the back of the car. "It is!" She cried out suddenly, examining the engine's newest addition: It appeared to be The Mr. Fusion addition, meaning that the DeLorean must be running on— "Yes, yes... Household waste is converted to electrical power! Simply genius! Genius!" She mumbled quietly before whipping her eyes to see the gullwing door of the time machine's driver side open. She stepped out from behind the car, pointing and shouting out to grab his attention.
"Doctor Brown! Welcome to the wild side—" Her greeting stopped, as she blinked. "Heheh!? My friend! What're you wearing!?" She approached regardless, waiting until he was coherent enough towards his surroundings to shake her head. After which, the two scientists talked quickly. The Doctor explained what she was doing here, and almost without any hesitation explained that she felt as if something was drawing her toward this time. She explains that as a seasoned time traveler, Emmet may grow a faint ability to identify other time travelers. The Doctor implies that for herself— this is biological, and for Emmet, it may be down to experience. She explains that she believes she was drawn towards his presence here— and the two talk. "My dear fellow, what is it you're doing here?"
The headline shown to the elder woman causes great intrigue, "Youth jailed, hm?" She examines, and Emmet watches her put on reading glasses, after which she promptly chuckles. "Heh! Look at that! Marty McFly Junior... the resemblance he bears! What are the chances of that? Hm?" Certainly slim, but not impossible. The Doctor then begins to put the pieces together, all on her own. "You're not thinking of bringing Martin here!? Are you?" The Doctor begins to pace softly back and forth, not unlike the good Doctor himself. "The DeLorean, from my knowledge— well, well, it's— yes... maybe if we modified its shielding against the time winds— But I would need to see the engine's components now, wouldn't I?" She spins on her heel. Doctor Brown throws a comment at her that almost stunlocks the elder.
I can't think of better company. @doctorbrown
The Elder Woman blushes. She grins slightly, her eyes narrowing. "Now, now... are you trying to flirt with me~?" She teases slightly, her hands on her lapels and her voice barely above a whisper, before she moves to change the subject. "Listen carefully, if we work quickly... we can modify The DeLorean's temporal shielding." The Doctor advises, "The time stream usually can't handle two people being in the same time and place for more than a moment, even if they aren't directly encountering each other!" She explains before her thumb taps her lapel. She moves past him, sitting in the driver's seat of the DeLorean almost by instinct. When she realizes what she does, she giggles like a fanatic schoolgirl. She looks up toward Emmet and rests her hand on the steering wheel, while her other lay against her lap.
"Would you mind~?" She waits for his permission, before looking back at the time circuit controls. "If we modify the DeLorean to desynchronize Martin from the timeline as you pass into 2015, then he technically won't register to the universe that he's present here!" She then turns sharply, "But it'll be temporary, Emmet! You'll have to get this business over with as quickly as possible! If Marty resynchronizes with the time stream while he's here— you'll blow a hole in the universe the size of—" The Doctor huffs, "Well— The Universe!"
"Under no circumstances can he encounter his future self! It'll increase his chances of resynchronizing!"

It's pretty much impossible that Citizen Brown actually is happy to see him, that he's not just being nice, that he's not just relieved to have some company in the courthouse other than himself or Edna, but Martin lets himself cling to the idea anyway, holding onto it with everything he has.
The teen hesitates, glancing once more toward the door and then to one of the small CRTs behind the desk; specifically, the one overlooking the front door of the office.
"Permission to speak freely, sir?" he asks, relieved to see that they are actually still alone. After a moment and the permission granted, he continues. "...You're a civil and a social engineer. You've dedicated your life to the practical pursuit of technology for the betterment of the world and to help create a more efficient and orderly society. Hill Valley was your experimental prototype community and what you conceptualized as the ultimate solution to urban planning. It was supposed to be a feasible, tangible step toward building a utopia."
Most of this, he's somewhat ashamed to admit, he remembers verbatim from his eighth grade research project on Citizen Brown. After all, it was that paper that set him on the trajectory he was on now.
"Public policy, though... if you don't mind me saying so, Your Honor, it's not your forte. The laws and ordinances concerning sobriety, obedience, moral fortitude... outlawing dogs, a-and... rock music..." He looks genuinely pained at the last two things.
"That's not your fau--" He immediately freezes, changing his wording. "I, um... I mean you're not responsible. Those are Citizen Strickland's ideas." He indicates the painting with a nod of his head, the expression on his face one of definite discontentment. "So I guess the answer would be yes and no. As for your next question..."
Martin shifts his weight from one foot to the other, staring at the floor of the courthouse for a moment. Voicing this out loud feels like a betrayal, but it wasn't like he could disobey.
"...About a week ago my parents told me it was time to get over Jennifer and get rid of my guitar, and... and you didn't get mad when I said I didn't want to, that ever since I was a kid I'd wanted to be a rock star even though I'm no good." He treats the idea like it's obvious, a statement of fact.
"You told me you always wanted to be a scientist and that you had a secret lab near the ravine. You told me I could keep my guitar there and that it would be safe. I guess that answers both two and three. And sorry, Your Honor, I don't know anyone named Clara."
"And... I call you that because First Citizen Brown, Divine Head of Hill Valley is kind of a mouthful and I don't know what else to call you. Everybody else just calls you Citizen Brown."
Marty's unease and unabashed surprise send another wave of anxiety coursing through him and Emmett finds himself wondering if he has already irreparably damaged something. He's had very little time to delve into the nuances of this place, and what he hoped to find by digging through his counterpart's belongings—his, technically, though the association sends a chill slithering down his spine—was ultimately cut short by Marty's arrival.
Several things have been made perfectly clear, however. For reasons still unknown to him, he has somehow been put in a position of power, there was something he must have found inspiring rather than cautionary when he read 1984 in this timeline, and he and Marty have some kind of working relationship, albeit one that seems far more professional than personal.
Not once has he called him Doc and all of his diplomas are conveniently missing from the wall.
Emmett holds up a hand, shaking his head with enough vigour it gives his hair the appearance of a thick cloud beside his head. This may not be the same Marty he's come to know over the years, but he knows how to read the signs when they present themselves and he can't help the way his first instinct is to ease his nerves.
❝No, no, no, Marty, you're the one with nothing to apologise for. There's nothing you've done wrong, I can assure you of that. In fact, I'm happy to see you.❞ The familiar face will do him a world of good, and he's thankful to know that, if nothing else, at least Marty is safe in this Orwellian hellscape.
He follows Marty's gaze toward the ominous painting hanging on the wall, hoping his expression doesn't mirror the feelings he suspects are much better kept under wraps. The longer he looks at his counterpart in that painting, bespectacled and with short hair that does nothing to ease the harshness of his obviously advancing years, and the woman standing next to him that can only be his wife—what became of Clara in this timeline?—the more he feels an invisible hand wrapping around his throat, ready to squeeze.
He tries not to think about it too much. This is only temporary.
❝Thank you. These questions are going to seem incredibly strange, but there's a very important reason for them, which I promise I'll explain in just a few moments if you'll continue to hear me out once I'm done. As I said, you'll probably think I've gone insane, but despite what people may say, that couldn't be further from the truth.❞
A thousand questions take shape in his mind, but he narrows the scope to a few to start.
❝My first question is, am I responsible for the current state of Hill Valley? My second question is, as far as you know, did I ever become a scientist?❞ The answer to this will tell him whether or not he'll need to find a makeshift workspace or if there has been something set up already he can borrow during his indeterminate stay here. ❝Third, somewhat related to my second question on the off-chance your answer is yes, did we ever work on anything together or have I shown you any of my inventions? Fourth, have...❞ He swallows, unsure if he wants to continue when he's almost certain he knows what the answer will be. ❝Have you ever heard of a woman named Clara? And my last question in this round of questions is, why do you call me Your Honour?❞
#ic.#doctorbrown#brave new world [verse.]#you're my best friend in the whole space time continuum [doc brown.]#we’ve been back together for five minutes and you’re already talkin’ about the end of the universe. i’ve missed that. ACCENT WALL PAINTING
An accent wall is when just one wall in the room is different than the rest. That could be a different color, different shade, different design, etc. In most cases, the accent wall is a different color than the rest. A lot of times, people will do all white walls and choose one color to stand out. That could be a favorite color or a color that brings in all the various colors in the room. An accent wall can really tie in your accessories, bedding and color scheme with the walls of the room. An accent wall is a perfect way to bring color into the room, without overdoing it. The color could even be bright or bold because it won’t overtake the area since it is just one wall. Accent walls also give you the chance to play around with a fun design on one wall in your bedroom, or any room for that matter. A great way to go about painting an accent wall is to first set up a color scheme for that room. Once you have your bedding and other accessories picked out, you can decide which wall to do. Usually, the accent wall looks nice behind the bed, or the desk, however your room is set up. Leave the remainder of the walls white, or an off white or light shade of one of the other colors in the room, and choose the color you want to pull out of the color scheme for your accent wall. Most importantly, this is a way to bring color into a room and have fun with it, without having too much fun!
LAS VEGAS NV ACCENT WALL PAINTING CONTRACTOR
When thinking about paint colors, many people opt for one bold, dramatic accent wall to mark their individual tastes and styles, or even convey a mood. If you’re thinking of painting an accent wall, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. First, placing an accent wall is a bit of an art.
While it sounds simple, we understand why this is often overlooked in the excitement of choosing new colors. An accent color can effectively reflect your personal style, and can also brighten up your home in the often-gloomy Seattle winter months – Maximize the effect by placing the color where you want the focus of the room to be.
At Vegas Handyman Services we do that task for you, we could suggest, we would say navy blue. If you are nervous about a color that is too bold, this color is neither too strong nor too boring. It looks great in your living room / family room or media room.
If you were to ask us a general color we might suggest, we would say navy blue. If you’re nervous about a color that’s too bold, this color is neither too loud nor too dull. It looks great in your living/family or media room.

Get Getting married at the airport? Idea is taking off.
Long layovers, too, are good for an 'I do' by Harriet Baskas Special for USA Today t's June and wedding season is officially underway. Look around and you'll start noticing folks getting hitched in churches, formal gardens, backyards, courthouses and hotel function rooms. And once in a while, in airports. Yes, airports. For many travelers, an airport may be the least romantic spot on earth. But airports have played an important role in plenty of love stories. Many couples first meet while working at an airport. Others meet while flying on an airplane or while hanging around at an airport. Some folks then get engaged or married at the airport because that's where they fell in love. Others just find the airport a convenient jumping off point for the rest of their – married – lives. Star attraction Rigo and Rhonda Sauceda began dating during the construction of the new terminal at Idaho's Boise Airport. Both were part of the team responsible for installing the security and information technology systems, so Rhonda didn't give it a second thought one day when Rigo said he needed to stop by the airport. "I thought we were just picking up something Rigo left at work." Instead, Rigo asked Rhonda to wait for him in the center of the airport, on the star in the middle of the medallion that forms a map on the floor. "He got down on one knee and asked me if I would marry him." (She said yes.) They considered exchanging vows at the airport, "because the Boise Airport is what brought us together," but decided to "make things a little more private" and ended up holding their wedding at a local hotel instead. Larissa ter Veer, another Boise Airport employee, didn't get engaged at the airport, but she and her fiancé Dirk, a pilot and National Guard C-130 flight engineer, did have their wedding just 15 miles down the road, at Nampa Municipal Airport. The airport is home to the Warhawk Air Museum, which has a reception-worthy hangar full of vintage airplanes, and the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), a faith-based, non-profit ministry which has a chapel overlooking the airport and a staff member who just happens to be a wedding planner. For the aviation-themed wedding, the couple created wedding invitations resembling boarding passes and went to a local wine store to blend their own "Plane Crazy Pinot." Between the ceremony and the reception the newlyweds took a thirty-minute ride in the groom's Maule single-engine airplane and, at the end of the event, guests launched paper airplanes instead of throwing birdseed. I now pronounce you … seatmates for life Airport weddings aren't just something they do in Idaho. Chris Robinson, who calls himself "The Officiant Guy," is sometimes called on to perform weddings at airports in Southern California, most often at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Robinson is authorized to issue California's "confidential" marriage licenses, which are sealed from public access and review and do not require witnesses, California residency or a trip through LA traffic to city hall. Only the bride and groom and the person authorized to issue the certificate has to be present at the ceremony, so it's easy to see why these "confidential" licenses are popular with celebrities all the time and, in a pinch, with "regular" couples who want to get married during a long layover at the airport. Robinson says he often gets last-minute calls from couples who have planned a wedding in Tahiti or some other exotic destination and realize that they'll have less bureaucratic hassles if they get married legally in this country first. The Officiant Guy has declared couples legally married over coffee or martinis at a coffee shop or bar inside a terminal, but if they have a long layover at LAX, Robinson often suggests they perform the ceremony at the bar at the Encounter Restaurant on top of the theme building in the middle of the airport. The restaurant has a funky space-age feel to it, great views of the surrounding area and, says Robinson, "It's easier to find parking there than at one of the terminals." Weddings are also among the amenities offered at several European airports. For example, at England's Manchester Airport, couples can have their weddings inside a parked Concorde airplane. In Sweden last year, 500 couples exchanged vows at the Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, which offers both church weddings in the airport chapel and civil weddings performed by a registrar. Church weddings at the chapel are free if at least one member of the couple belongs to the Church of Sweden, otherwise, fees apply. And in Amsterdam, the ever-accommodating Schiphol Airport has a wedding planner who keeps busy helping to arrange up to 50 airport weddings a year. In Holland, the most popular months to get married are in May and September, but the airport weddings seem to be popular year-round. Like traditional wedding "halls," the airport offers several wedding packages. According to Schiphol press officer Kathelijne Vermeulen, the most popular package is the efficient "Say Yes and Go" plan that lets couples tie the knot and then jump on a plane. "Quite often people get married without telling family and friends. When boarding for their plane to the honeymoon destination, a postcard goes out to them!" A fast get-away may be fine for some couples, but Vermeulen says the airport is booking an increasing number of "Ticket to Paradise" packages. These can include anything from a champagne brunch to a big party with guests. "Afterwards," says Vermuelen, "the couple can take some of their guests with them for a holiday. You can imagine what the airport looks like when a bride and groom, completely dressed up, with 25 guests also all dressed up, pass by and board a plane." Now that's romantic! Harriet Baskas writes about travel etiquette for MSNBC.com and is the author of Stuck at the Airport. TELL US: Have you gotten engaged or married at an airport? Share your stories below. These Photos Show Why We Need to Preserve the Night Sky
Due to the rapid growth in population, an increasing percentage of the human population lives in cities and suburbs where the night sky is completely obscured by the artificial lights. Skylines littered with lit skyscrapers reach sky high. An endless river of traffic flashing high beams. And the cities are ever-expanding. It is conceivable that most people have lived without having seen the true natural night sky.
Light pollution threatens our planet’s ecosystem by disrupting the light and dark patterns of the natural world. The effects of light pollution are not only on humans but also has a significant impact on wildlife. The impact can be profound if left unchecked. Natural darkness is, of course, renewable! We just have to switch off the lights!
The series of images presented here dwells into the beauty of night sky and emphasizes the importance of preserving darkness by reducing light pollution.
M42 – Orion Nebula
The Orion Nebula is one of the most captivating objects in the dark sky. The Orion Nebula spans about 40 light years and is located about 1,500 light-years away in the same spiral arm of our galaxy as the sun. Visible to the naked eye, it appears as soft glow in the Orion constellation. It is mainly composed of young stars, hot gas, and dust. This image was shot from Grand Canyon National park with a total exposure time of 20 minutes.
Geminid Meteor Shower
Arguably the best meteor shower of the year. I was fortunate to have clear skies during the peak activity of the Geminid Meteor Shower in Flagstaff, Arizona. The snow-covered Sunset Crater shimmered with the silver light of the moon just when it was 10 degrees above the horizon. And when it got completely dark, the sky was lit up with meteor shower in all directions. It was non-stop. It was incredible!
Radiant Shield
Night surrounded me as I was traipsing the Devil’s Bridge trail in Sedona. The sound of its name sent shivers down my spine. One look at the sky, all the devilish thoughts abated. Soundless dark and silhouettes of bluffs and cliffs against the star-drenched-sky. Mars came peeping through the Capitol Butte and Jupiter shone like a diamond in the eastern edge of the sky. Most magnificent of it all was the glorious arch of the Milky Way.
Eternal Light
Go to Flagstaff and you will feel like you’re in heaven, they said. It was so true after all. Standing on a cliff at the near edge of the world, in the heart of Coconino national forest surrounded by pine trees, watching the Perseid meteor shower was something I will remember the rest of my life. The night was long and dark, with occasional shooting stars traversing the night sky burning and blazing in green. View of the world like no other!
Musa Galactica
They say Arizona is a paradise for astrophotographers. Flying high on the wings of anticipation, I have never been this sanguine about photographing the Milky Way. It’s like a muse for me… a Musa Galactica, if one were to call it that. At Sedona, I was spellbound at the spectacular sight of the Sky River rising in between Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock. All the stars suddenly appeared closer than ever before. It was like meeting a long due dream.
Vega Nova
Just after sunset, darkness crept over the Death Valley national park and I found myself yet again in the vast wilderness. I had a few hours of complete darkness to experiment something new before the night sky gets washed away with moonlight. I photographed, I laughed, I stretched my arms wide open and embraced the night sky. I am now convinced that Death Valley is a creative madhouse.
This Way to Paradise
I always found Brasstown Bald in North Georgia as the land of enchantment. In the morning hours, dense fog floats over the rolling blue ridge mountains and in the dark, spiral band of the milky way ensemble into what appears like an eye of Agamotto and you fall into a magical land of stars. This was shot on the way downhill from Brasstown Bald, a road known to many but stopped at by few to look where else it could lead!
Cosmic Mysteries
On a fine summer evening, I walked the trails along the southern rim of Grand Canyon. Sun stood still for several hours and went down below the horizon casting orange hues. I stood there for hours embracing the glory of Grand Canyon, something so unparalleled among the wonders of the natural world. Then came the darkness and the lights from the million stars adorned the rocks of the carved earth. I was awestruck!
Dance of Shadows
It was a full moon and everything down the monument valley was bathed in magical silver light. As the moon sunk below the horizon, shadows crept upon the landscape making distinct patterns of the buttes on the ground. Stars were all alight when the moon made the final descent. I watched in awe from the comfort of my tent as the shadows and highlights played hide and seek with occasional meteor showers of the Leonids burst across the night sky.
Divine Radiance
Silence gathered in the deep abyss of the Superstition mountain in Mesa – Arizona, as the last of the sunlight began to fade away. Milky way hid behind the rock, as the night started to get darker and quieter. Few hours into the night, milky-way emerged in colors more bright and brilliant with luminous stars against the blue velvet. The graceful arch of the milky way was as glorious as you’d imagine. The mountains were suddenly lit by the eternal spark!
Passage of Time
Milky Way season is the best time of the year. At night, Earth will be facing the center of the Milky Way galaxy and is ideally visible from early April to late September. You can see the Milky Way with the naked eye, on a clear, moonless night in an area with little to no light pollution. The galactic core lies in the direction of constellation Sagittarius and it appears as the brightest part of the Milky Way.
Journey Into the Night
There’s something humbling about Mogollon Rim in Payson, Arizona that keeps me from going back for more. The other night, I was driving along the edge of the rim until last I came across a wide clearing. I strolled through the trees and made it to the top of the cliff overlooking a pine forest. Milky way streaked across the sky and hundreds of purposeful travelers wandered through the streets of the village.
Milky Way in Shades of Midnight
Fort mountain state park, one of the most scenic places in Chattahoochee national forest in Georgia. It is always thrilling to drive up north on the serpentine mountain roads at dark. In search of light and silence. The night on the scenic highway was unlike any other night. I was standing on the edge of the road, enjoying the spectacular view of our galaxy.
Infinite Wonder
Looking at the footprints on the sand dunes at Mesquite flat, I thought it wouldn’t be an ideal place for photography but I went there anyway. Last rays of sun began to fade and darkness fell swiftly while we were wobbling around leaving our own footprints on the sand dunes. I was hoping to find dunes free of any footprints but they are all over the place. When we started to head back to our tent, the moon rose up painting final touches to the sand dunes after being washed in golden hues of the sun.
City of Angels Veiled in Electric Light
Stars are above ground but the city of Los Angels is so drenched in bright lights that it emits an intense sky glow also known as the bright halo that appears over the urban areas at night due to light pollution. Los Angeles ranks 5th for U.S. cities with the highest percentage of people sleeping less than 7 hours a night. The impact of light pollution is far beyond than just astronomy.

April 2019 Mangum Dental Hike-of-the-Month Granite Gardens Trails
Distance: 1.2 miles
Difficulty: Easy to moderate (easy because of distance and moderate because bouldering)
Elevation: 5040′ low - 5150′ high
Parking: Park on the side of East Granite Garden Drive near Hwy 89. No fee and no facilities.
Directions: From the Courthouse Plaza in downtown Prescott, Arizona, take East Gurley Street toward Watson Lake. Keep left at the junction of Highway 69 to stay on Highway 89 toward Chino Valley. Pass Watson lake, stay straight at the round-about, and into the Granite Dells. Just after the large granite boulders there is Granite Gate Senior Living Center and Boulder Creek Drive on the left. At this intersection take Granite Gardens Drive to the right. After a short distance, there is ample area to park on the right side of the road just before Granite Creek. The total distance from the courthouse is 6.2 miles.
Summary: This short hike is a little gem on the northern edge of the Granite Dells. It is close to town, easy to access, and makes for an interesting hike. The highlights include the views of the Prescott area, the diverse and always awe-inspiring granite boulder formations, and the Grotto. This trial system is made up by a number of loop trails that are connected together. The map shows the Stairway Loop, Castle Rock Trail, Rock Stacker Trail, and the Grotto Trail. I hiked all the loop trails with my 3 sons. The youngest is 3 years-old, he was slow, but he hiked nearly the entire way.
Begin by crossing over Granite Creek using a bridge near the parking area. Walk down Granite Gardens Drive a short distance to find the trail leaving the road on the left. At the fork, we took a left on the Stairway Loop to hike clock-wise. The elevation increases up the boulders to some rock ledges. Deviate from the trail a little to see special views of both Granite Creek below and the surrounding rock formations. Overlook a historic dam on Granite Creek. This dam was built by early settlers and a pipeline to supply irrigation water to farming projects in Chino Valley. Continue on the trail to a large staircase and onto the Castle Rock Loop. The terrain is constantly changing from up to down and from trail to boulder. Proceed down the boulders to a wide path or road. Take a right then a left to hike the Rock Stacker Trail. The highlight of this trail comes near the end in a stretch referred to as The Grotto. This is a cave like structure made of large boulders. Twist and squeeze through the tight spaces to emerge triumphant on the other side. The trail then returns toward Granite Creek and back to the parking area.

Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park
Yosemite, California
Thursday, June 28, 2018
Clear, 85°
“The far-famed valley came suddenly into view throughout almost its whole extent: the noble walls, sculptured into endless variety of domes and gables, spires and battlements and plain mural precipices, all a-tremble with the thunder tones of the falling water. The level bottom seemed to be dressed like a garden, sunny meadows here and there and groves of pine and oak, the river of Mercy sweeping in majesty through the midst of them and flashing back the sunbeams.” -- John Muir
Yosemite National Park Sign
Yosemite Valley has been one of those life changing places for me. As a young man I had the opportunity to fly a hang glider off the face of Half Dome and El Capitan. There were very few permits given back then and I was lucky to be granted two of them on successive years. You could not even get a permit to fly there for over 25 years so it was an honor and a privilege to see such a beautiful place from an aerial perspective as only 25 to 30 have done so.
El Capitan
Flying over the valley, around the rock formations and waterfalls was truly incredibly beautiful. The valley floor was post card-like with the high cathedrals of rock, the massive trees, and the beautiful meadows. While soaring, you could hear the sounds of the waterfalls in the distance.
Yosemite Valley View with Telephoto of Bridalveil Falls
It was not an easy place to fly and the NPS made you work for that early morning flight. You drove up an old logging road to where it stopped then hiked in with over 150 pounds of gear. You went up late afternoon the day before you were permitted to fly and spent the night up on the mountain, which was pretty incredible in itself.
The vistas from Half Dome and El Capitan inspired you to have a great flight. The steep cliff walls, the raging waterfalls you could hear from the kite over the soft sounds of the wind across the flying wires of the glider, the beautiful trees, the early morning sun’s rays dancing through the trees below gave all the pilots a feeling that this was a truly special place to fly. When we landed, Cook’s Meadow was covered with 10 colorful hang gliders.
Half Dome from Cook’s Meadow
We all took our time to breaking them down, instead telling stories of the flight and what we saw from the air. Those were great times with good friends experiencing something phenomenal and cherished to this day.
Yosemite Valley is located on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada mountains, 150 miles due east of San Francisco. It stretches for 7.5 miles in a roughly east-west direction, with an average width of about 1 mile.
Yosemite Valley represents only one percent of the park area, but this is where most visitors arrive and stay. More than half a dozen creeks tumble from hanging valleys at the top of granite cliffs that can rise 3000–3500 feet above the valley floor, which itself is 4000 feet above sea level. These streams combine into the Merced River, which flows out from the western end of the valley, down the rest of its canyon to the San Joaquin Valley. The flat floor of Yosemite Valley holds both forest and large open meadows, which have views of the surrounding crests and waterfalls. (Wikipedia)
Driving from Suisun City on Hwy 12, we saw about fifty wind generators spinning in the almost constant breeze that blows in that part of California. There are rolling hills with crops of various kinds along the way to Stockton where you get on Hwy 120 for the rest of the drive into Yosemite National Park. There were several pretty little towns with interesting names like, Copperopolis, Chinese Camp, and Buck Meadows. We passed beautiful lake/reservoir Tulloch where we saw boaters on the lake and swimmers along the shore and beaches. The Don Pedro Reservoir’s road was a steep climb up six or seven miles of winding switchbacks, hairpin curves, and other vehicles going too fast to stay in their lane. Once on top of the mesa, the rest of the road into Yosemite was nice as we passed through a small pioneer town with several bars and eateries with rocking chairs on the front porch.
The West entrance gate into Yosemite gives you about a twenty mile drive through large forest stands of trees, fire damaged hillsides, and beautiful mountain vistas on either side of the road.
Yosemite Rock Formation
Today was not a hurried drive as it had been in other parks. Here, other vehicles seemed to slow down and stop to enjoy this beautiful scenery. There were several tunnels leading to the first view of Yosemite Valley. Hwy 120 is not the famous “tunnel view,” which is on Hwy 41 coming up from the South Park entrance, but it is pretty dang close.
Yosemite Valley Panorama
Stopping at the overlook, you have a wonderful view down the valley with Bridalveil Falls as the centerpiece. El Capitan is on the left side of the valley with Half Dome just out of view.
Half Dome
Driving down the mountain into the valley brought back so many memories of camping here, sitting with friends around a campfire, talking about past flights, places flown, and those lost along the way as hang gliding grew in popularity before many of the safety measures were initiated within the sport.
Bridalveil Falls Close Up View
Stopping at Cook’s Meadow we had a spectacular view of El Capitan, Half Dome, the Three Brothers Rock Formation and both of the waterfalls; Bridalveil and Yosemite Falls.
Yosemite Falls
This was the “landing meadow” from so many years ago. It was a beautiful setting as the sun went below the Three Brothers casting a long shadow across the valley floor. Not much has changed except trees are a little taller, a boardwalk cuts across the valley where we would land and people were walking across the meadow, along the paved walkways, and cars were driving by with a parade like frequency in the long circle of the valley road.
Bridalveil Falls
The main road through Yosemite splits at the valley and has a single lane for vehicles and a dedicated bus lane to move traffic around the loop road. It goes all the way up to the Upper and Lower Pines campground past Curry Village and the “working village” with the general store, US Courthouse, and Park Service buildings. This area was pretty crowded with people trying to get on the shuttles, go shopping, or visiting the lodges or campgrounds in the area.
It was wonderful until we realized that the campground reservations made for this day were not on site within the Park but were about 50 air miles away. On the map, it looked like the campground was still within the boundaries but in reality, it was just outside. No problem, that is, until after putting it into the GPS we saw with the road switchbacks and elevation changes it was going to take over three and a half hours to go that short distance. I did not want to drive over three hours and be offsite. We decided time would be better spent with family. So with almost the same drive time back to the house, it was a quick turn out of the park with the sun setting over the lakes. Night had fallen when we reached the windmills and the blinking red beacons indicated we were close to my daughter’s home. It was a long enjoyable day in one of this country’s most beautiful National Parks. I highly recommend a visit if you have the chance. It will not disappoint and give you several “Oh Wow!” moments along the way.
Traveling Life’s Highways - I’m starting to feel better and I have had a chance to catch up on some of my writing so hopefully you continue to follow this trek and enjoy.

What Documents Do I Need to Bring When I First Meet with My Bankruptcy Attorney?
Filing for bankruptcy isn’t always easy. One of the biggest burdens under the “new” bankruptcy law that was forced upon debtors and their attorneys in 2005 was the requirement to produce volumes and volumes of documents. In addition to the formal schedules and statement of affairs, you’ll need to get together a lot of paperwork to file bankruptcy. One nationally known attorney from Utah has said that before the law was changed, he would tell his clients that you paid your attorney to run around the courthouse. Now, under the new law, you pay your attorney, and both the debtor and the attorney get to run around the court house.
In our experience, the presentation of the documents only serves to verify the truth of the matter, and that is that the overwhelming debt is much too onerous to deal with, and the need to file a bankruptcy is even more necessary. The frustrating part of the practice of law, in this regard, is the time-consuming task of gathering documents that state what is already obvious. Even so, submitting these “due diligence” papers is a major part of debtor bankruptcy practice today.
So, what sort of documents will you need for Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy, at your initial consultation with a bankruptcy attorney and beyond? Read on.
youtube
Bankruptcy Consultation Documents: What to Bring to Your First Meeting with Your Lawyer
The most important, mandatory documents to bring to your initial bankruptcy consultation are a list of your outstanding debts and a list of your assets, focusing on major assets, such as houses, cars, boats, trailers, timeshares and the like. We rarely ask for the actual bills from the creditors, as we routinely download a credit report, which captures most of the needed information.
Then, a recent pay stub is the next important item, plus a rough budget for your household’s income and expenses. These would be bare-minimum documents for an initial review.
What Documents You’ll Need If You File Chapter 7 or Chapter 13
If you and your attorney decide to go forward with your case, you likely will be provided with a detailed checklist of all the other myriad documents needed, such as loan payoffs, copies of titles, copies of tax returns, six months of pay advices, deeds of trust, proof of insurance, and on and on.
The United States Courts website has a full list of the Official Bankruptcy Forms that may be needed for filing bankruptcy, which include your Chapter 13 Plan, means test forms for Chapter 7, financial affairs and income statements, applications to waive filing fees, orders on reaffirmation agreements, orders for relief in involuntary cases, notice to creditors, financial management course certification, and more. Individual debtors will file forms that begin with the number 100, while non-individuals will file forms beginning with the number 200.
youtube
Thankfully, though, most of these documents can wait to be produced during the retainer and filing process, and need not be brought to the initial consultation. While debtors certainly are able to file for bankruptcy on their own without the help of an attorney, it’s generally not advised. Bankruptcy can be complicated, outside the dozens of forms involved, and just a simple mistake with a document or overlooking an asset can get your case tossed and your debts will not be discharged.
Contact a Bankruptcy Attorney Today for a Free Consultation
If you are thinking of filing for bankruptcy, you are not alone. Lawyers can help you decided whether or not you even need to file a bankruptcy, but if you do, they’ll let you know which chapter would be most appropriate. They can also tell you whether or not you’ll be able to keep your most treasured assets, including your house and car, and advise you about tax consequences and how to address bills during bankruptcy. They’ll also help you fill out all of the necessary forms correctly and make sure you’re not missing anything the bankruptcy court requires.

COMMON TYPES OF HOME ADDITIONS
As one of Las Vegas’s leading home remodeling companies, Las Vegas Best Remodeling & Handyman Services has built all sorts of beautiful additions to area homes, including:
• Bathrooms • Casitas or Guest Houses • Home Theaters • Mancaves or Studies • Pool Houses or Cabanas
RULES FOR YOUR LAS VEGAS ROOM ADDITION The following are some guidelines to understand as you consider adding a room or a second story home addition in Las Vegas:
1. Room Addition and Second Story Home Addition Estimates
Homeowners often wonder how different bids can vary so much in price, when all Las Vegas home remodeling companies are looking at the same plans. The simple answer is that the pricing is all in the details. Make sure to put all the details in writing, an essential way to eliminate confusion about the products to be used and the work to be done. This way, builders can give accurate bids and buyers can compare them easily.
2. Find out the Location of Property Lines
Local codes have restrictions with regard to how close you can build to your neighbors, streets or even into your own back yard. The first thing you want to do is locate your property lines and develop a plot plan, which would include your home, landscaping, and the location of your utilities. Las Vegas Best Remodeling & Handyman Services employs competent and experienced architects that would be able to assist you with this process.
3. Develop a design that complements your current floor plan
Look at the structure and the floor plan of your existing home. This will allow you to gather your own ideas on how you envision your new room addition. Finally, with the help of an architect and an interior designer from Las Vegas Best Remodeling & Handyman Services, you can develop a plan that provides the most attractive, useful and economical addition to your home.
4. Detail your plans
When it comes to your building plans, it is never possible to have too much detail. Before work begins, make sure you have detailed descriptions of the exact materials and the scope of the work to be done. This will save you from the potential headaches that can occur.
Building a room addition in Las Vegas requires great skill. It is a difficult task to make sure the addition fits flawlessly with the existing structure, without any damage to the structural portion of the existing house. Therefore, room addition projects can easily be as complex as building a new house. Las Vegas Best Remodeling & Handyman Service knowledgeable team of architects, interior designers, skilled craftsman and sub contractors will make sure your room addition project is a success, completed on time and on budget.
If you look around you will notice that many home owners are expanding the size of their homes and adding room additions in Las Vegas. Adding extra space to your home can greatly increases the home value while allowing you to enjoy it in the mean time. Las Vegas Best Remodeling & Handyman Service understands that it is your home and your needs are a priority. We would love to work with you to increase the size of your home and make your dreams a reality.

I will inspect your walls and ceilings before the finish work begins to assure it was hung properly and again when finishing is completed to let you know it will or will not look the way it should once paint. Improperly hung or finished drywall can cause major problems in a short period of time and once paid many drywall contractors will not return to fix the problems caused by improper installation or finish work. Building A New Home And Need Someone To Figure The Total Number Of Drywall Boards Needed. Making an inaccurate estimation for your residential or commercial drywall project can be a costly mistake. Call today I charge a reasonable price for an accurate estimate of how many sheets of Sheetrock you need for large or small new homes and commercial projects in Las Vegas NV, NV and surrounding areas.
Once a drywall is installed, there may be a lot of cracks and nails, which cannot be covered with paint. Taping and floating the drywall will help cover those effectively. At Vegas Handyman Services, you’ll get quality taping and floating services that will give a smooth finish to your drywall. We also provide a 1 year warranty on our work. The purpose of taping is to cover all the nails, screws, cracks, and gaps between the drywall, whereas the process of floating is to give a smooth finish to the entire wall after taping it. Our patient and focused staff carefully do this job without overlooking any flaw. We can also add different textures on your wall by taping and floating the drywall. We take pride in constructing the perfect walls for you.
We always use drywall screws. Never let any contractor convince you that nails work just fine! Screws hold the drywall tighter to the stud or ceiling joist and are much less likely to back out or pop. Stress Cracks can appear anywhere, over windows, doors and even across your ceilings or walls. If not repaired properly a stress crack can return over and over again! In some cases structural or foundation work may be necessary, in other cases cutting the area out and putting 2 X 4 bracing in crucial areas and then using glue and screws to replace the cut out section may do the trick. One thing is for sure, simply putting joint tape over the crack want solve the problem as you most likely already know the crack will return usually in a very short period of time.
We are drywall metal corner bead experts. If not installed properly drywall edges are very likely to become loose and crack. Corner bead is made using very light gauge stainless steel and every precaution should be taken not to bump into them causing a dent. If installed properly corners should never crack or become loose.
Never think that all drywall contractors are alike! Nothing could be farther from the truth. Call an experienced, skilled, and highly trained expert for wall and ceiling repair, finishing or popcorn texture removal work. Over 20 years of local service and a do it right attitude. I offer reasonable prices and estimates are free on large or small jobs.

Call a Lynching By Its Name
By SINDISO MNISI WEEKS and DAN WEEKS NYT September 26, 2017
In recent days, we have read gut-wrenching accounts of an alleged attack on an 8-year-old biracial boy in Claremont, New Hampshire. Like the local police, who did not issue any public statements until more than a week after the incident, under pressure from the boy’s family, state media have also been circumspect in their coverage. Nowhere in the reporting by top state media outlets on this tragic event does the word “lynching” occur. Sadly, it should. As parents of a young biracial boy and girl in New Hampshire, we shudder to say the word and consider its implications for the state we love. Yet as an American and South African couple, we have read enough American history and experienced enough of South Africa’s past under apartheid to arrive at the conviction that past is ever prologue unless we stare it in the face and publicly exclaim, “Enough!” Consider with us the sordid history of lynching in America, a history that is often overlooked or misconstrued. From the end of Reconstruction in 1877 until 1950, white Americans lynched 4,084 African Americans (https://lynchinginamerica.eji.org/report/) across the American South, according to documentary evidence gathered by the Equal Justice Initiative. Another 300 racial terror lynchings were perpetrated in non-Southern states across the country. Although hanging from a tree was the most common form of lynching, victims were sometimes tortured and burned alive (http://articles.latimes.com/2000/aug/27/news/mn-11152/2). Their mutilated body parts – lips, teeth, fingers, internal organs – were sometimes removed and sold as keepsakes. The perpetrators did not call themselves racist. Most did not bother to don white hoods. Ninety-nine percent were never convicted of a crime and Congress never passed a law making lynching illegal. In fact, lynchings were frequently photographed and published as postcards (https://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/11232007/profile2.html), which served as popular souvenirs in the South. A lynching could be attended by thousands and take place on the courthouse square.
Rarely, if ever, did the leading white citizens of the community – or anyone, for that matter – raise a public objection to this or other forms of terrorism against African Americans. Few memorials of lynching and its victims exist today. Although the overwhelming majority of lynchings occurred in the South, Northern scholars of “scientific racism” concocted theories of a “dangerous” and “devolving” race to portray African American men as subhuman and predisposed to rape — a potent pretext for lynching and other forms of racist violence and discrimination. Although progress has been made, two forms of discrimination in particular — mass incarceration of young African American men and the vastly disproportionate rate (https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/police-shootings/) of police shootings of unarmed African American men — continue to this day. New Hampshire is one of six states (http://www.chesnuttarchive.org/classroom/lynchings_table_state.html) in which no known lynchings occurred or were attempted – until now. We may never know all that happened in that backyard near Barnes Park on the afternoon of August 28. But we know enough from newspaper accounts (http://www.vnews.com/Public-Wants-More-Info-From-Claremont-Authorities-12353456) to treat this incident with the seriousness that an attempted lynching demands and to take a cold, hard look at racism in our state at a time when white supremacy is literally on the march again. We know there were white teenagers who hurled sticks and stones and racial epithets at an 8-year-old biracial boy on more than one occasion, according to his family. We know there was a rope hanging from a tree and a picnic table nearby. We know the young boy was playing with his 11-year-old sister when the teenagers approached, and that he was found a short time later with rope burns and a bleeding neck.
We know the account his sister and grandmother gave of the teenagers getting the rope around his neck and shoving him off the picnic table before running away and leaving him hanging from the tree. We know the boy was rushed to Valley Regional Hospital by his mother and then airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital that evening, where doctors described the incident as consistent with a hanging and “said he should have been dead,” according to his grandmother. We know the Claremont Police were silent until the mother’s Facebook post went viral more than a week after the incident. And we know that at a community vigil in support of the distraught family, white men flaunted a Confederate flag and decried the slogan “Black Lives Matter.” That is not all. We know that in the age of Donald Trump, a president who openly equates the proponents of white supremacy with those who protest it, Americans must still confront our nation’s history of slavery and the legacy of racism and institutional inequality that remains. As parents of children deemed black in New Hampshire, we now feel a kind of fear Dan never imagined growing up in an idyllic, all-white town some 50 miles from Claremont, a fear Sindiso hoped never to remember from her childhood in South Africa’s largest township under apartheid. As Americans, old and new, who believe fervently in our nation’s founding creed of “liberty and justice for all,” we refuse to accept this unacceptable state of affairs on behalf of our children and the community we love. To begin, we must call this violence what it is, according to the available evidence: an attempted lynching. By saying the word, we are acknowledging our sordid racist past. Only then can we act in unison to stamp out the many vestiges of systemic racism and inequality today. Dan Weeks is chair of Open Democracy in Concord, N.H. and Sindiso Mnisi Weeks is an assistant professor at University of Massachusetts Boston. They keep a blog on race and society at www.SindisoAndDan.org.

East Bay Foodie Gems
A few weeks ago I was back home in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area. We usually stay with relatives and eat in, but once in a while, we have a hankering for a Kasper hot dog, a cheesesteak from The Cheesesteak Shop, Peet's Coffee, and other local fares. This time around, I wanted to explore new eateries and ended up going back to one I had bookmarked over three years ago.
Surprisingly a lot has changed since I lived there and the East Bay, a place usually overlooked by tourists and locals alike, has brought its food scene to rival that of its neighbors in the Wine Country, Peninsula and South Bay. You'll need your walking shoes, an open mind, and an empty stomach. You never know what you'll find when you become a backyard tourist!
Silva Bakery, Hayward
I lived around the corner from Silva Bakery for over two years. I even drove into the same parking lot, usually to order shame and disappointment at the drive-thru window. Neatly tucked away between a thrift store and English pub, the bakery doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you open the door, you're met with an explosion of color and intoxicating aromas. If you're a language learner, you can't help but to read the labels and try to decipher ingredient lists. I greeted the cashier in Portuguese, but she didn't speak it and I quickly switched back to English.
It's small, but well stocked with groceries from Portugal, Brazil, and local companies. I already had my list.
Sumol
Soda. Yeah I know, but they had the abacaxi (pineapple) flavor and I needed to get it.
Pão de Queijo
Forno de Minas brand. I was sad to see that it was a frozen package, but I took them anyway. Couldn't tell the difference once they were baked. I ate half of them before my husband got home. So what are they? The best freaking cheese bread I've ever had! They look like little puffs, but they are dense and filled with cheesy goodness.
Pasteis de Nata
I had these little egg custard tarts on my trip to Montréal last October. These are baked fresh and have a hint of sweetness.
Leite de Coco
Menina brand. I have no idea what I'm going to do with this yet, but it will be delicioso. I'm curious to see the differences in taste and texture of this coconut milk in comparison to the American brands.
Sardinhas
As do Mar brand. These fishies are going on the grill. Estilo português, é claro. You can find these on Amazon, too. I might get a case of 'em.
Piri Piri Molho
Maçarico brand. I've tried the Nando's Peri Peri sauce and it was pretty good. I'll eventually make one from scratch, but for now, this will do.
Website: http://www.silvabakery.com
Genghix Asian Fusion, Castro Valley
I don't care for fusion restaurants *cough, cough P.F. Chang's*, but I remember coming here with a friend and really enjoying their sushi menu. My husband and I had been running around all day, and after seeing the day's activities written all over my face, he suggested Genghix. Sushi is always a good idea. FACT. We arrived about thirty minutes prior to closing so we were surprised we were served.
"If this were Shanghai, we would be out of luck," he said.
I hadn't had duck in a while and wanted to see their take on Duck Confit. While the flavors were present, the duck was overcooked, which meant it was a workout just to get the meat off the bone. To be honest, if I knew they were just going to give me a mediocre dish, I would have prefer them lying to me and say they were out. The sushi was decent. I'll give them a try again, but if I recall the service wasn't that great the first time either.
Website: http://www.genghix.com
Trabocco Kitchen and Cocktails, Alameda
South Shore Center, I hardly recognize you! Why, I remember when Starbucks just opened and I could see The Wherehouse (that's the 90's version of iTunes) across the way! All kidding aside, this place is inviting with restaurants, shopping, and a pet-friendly promenade. We made it out this way from the Alameda County courthouse to have a nice family lunch/dinner. You can never go wrong with Italian food! And, what a better way to practice and impress your famiglia with your italiano?
Anytime someone greets you like you are family, it's a good sign of great things to come. The head chef, Giuseppe Naccarelli gave us a warm welcome and chatted with me for a few while I waited for the rest of the party to arrive. The entire experience was lovely. From the moment we walked through the door, until our departure, I felt the love! The quality of food is superb! I can't wait to go back already. Here's what we ordered.
Carpaccio
Description from their site: Raw, grass-fed beef tenderloin, lemon, olive oil, shaved parmesan, arugula. My husband and I were the only ones who wanted to touch this. More for us!
Risotto del Giorno
You know, I don't remember exactly what was in this dish other than the burrata. This wasn't on their dinner menu, instead it was the special of the day. I'm keeping the picture on my phone for reference the next time.
Insalata Caprese
Instead of mozzarella it was topped with a puffy cloud of burrata, drizzled with olio d'oliva, and a kalamata olive. If this is a tomato, what have we been eating this entire time?! Don't forget the basil!
Pesce dal Trabocco con Fagiolata
Description from their site: Fagiolata includes Lentils, garbanzos, farro, cannellini beans, quinoa, carrots, cherry tomatoes, lemon anchovy dressing. Another special of the day, hooray for pan seared ahi tuna.
All I have to say is that for the price, it doesn't get any better than this!! The portions are huge and they use locally sourced products from around the Bay Area. Alameda, you folks are LUCKY!
website: http://trabocco.com
Notable Mention
i-Tea, Multiple Locations around the Bay Area
Sometimes coffee just won't do. *gasp!* Other times, I just want a sweet beverage like milk tea with boba. The first location I found was at the San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore. My husband said it felt like something straight out of Taiwan. They also had ready-to-go snacks like fried octopus. Just my luck, the thing I wanted was sold out, so I just grabbed the milk tea. Fast forward to three days later, and we found another location in Castro Valley. Sure enough, the line was out the door and memories of Shanghai flooded my husband's noggin. Peet's Coffee, looks like you have some competition.
During this visit, I just went for the Curry Fish Balls. They were soft, moist, and the curry wasn't overpowering.
website: http://www.itea-usa.com
I have just begun to scratch the surface. Who know what other foodie treasures await on my next trip! See you in November.
