Jane Lynch Plays Yet Another Therapist in 'A.C.O.D.'
WRITER’S NOTE: This interview took place back in 2013. Who doesn’t love Jane Lynch? We see her everywhere these days either as Sue Sylvester on the hit show “Glee” or hosting the NBC game show “Hollywood Game Night.” Lynch is an endlessly talented actress who never fails to give a tremendously entertaining performance in anything she does. While we may not have recognized her right away as a…

The Price of Glee Breaks Down the Lives Behind a Global Phenomenon
Want the skinny on the Lea Michelle drama, Cory Montieth and what ultimately resulted in the demise of the global hit phenomenon Glee? The Price of Glee breaks it all the way down #docuseries #theprcieofglee
I’ve been known to articulate often about the demands of being in a Broadway show and joke about the fact that rehearsals are the real vacation.  Once the show opens for previews rehearsals persists for 6 hours, a 2-3 hour performance and notes for another 45 minutes before heading home.  All of this leading up to opening night.  Once the show opens, most of the cast can rest, but those who…

hi.
first off, i urge you to use discretion when sharing articles and especially photos, photos that shitty ppl are going to make big $$$ selling to places like tmz. if things are shared outside of tabloids, i will share them here as well.
austin’s sister made a little statement on how he’s doing which you can read here.
austin’s statement via his representative
olivia, baz, tom hanks and alton’s statements
no one, austin, baz or *anyone* in the presley family or adjacent to them owes us public grief. in any form. please respect the family + family friend’s wishes and don’t share photos and videos of them at the memorial outside of the speeches.
please don’t put pressure on/express misplaced disappointment in anyone over how they’re choosing to navigate their grief. this includes putting pressure on anyone or ‘picking sides’ in regards to the future of graceland/the current court case. it should’ve stayed a private family matter to begin with, and while i’m totally fine answering gen questions about what is now public information i just. would like us to remember that a) we don’t actually know any of these people and b) grief makes emotions run high and can make already complicated situations even messier even between people who love each other. anons bashing priscilla and/or riley and the girls won’t be posted.
i am not comfortable discussing the custody situation related to harper and finley in depth given that they are minor children and deserve as much privacy as possible. there are write ups explaining the history online if you want more information/are confused about why it’s so contentious. same goes for lisa’s relationship with priscilla’s son- even though they obviously aren’t minors i’m just not comfy discussing it here. ❤️
the way i’m feeling right now is reminding of how i felt when cory montieth passed when i was 13. grief for people you don’t know is still real, painful grief. and if anyone wants to talk my anons and my private messages are open. i love you all so very much and find comfort in knowing we’re all in this really sucky situation together.
all my love to the presley family.

#10 Glee
Plot: Spanish teacher Will feels that he's missing something in his life, something that really makes a difference. Then the director of his school's Glee club gets fired and Will seizes the oppurtunity to go back into the world he missed and loves so much. It's a long and winding road to success, with constang failures and setbacks. A group of misfits and strong wills need to come together to change lives - both their own, Will's and many others.
Years: 2009-2015
Seasons: 6
My story: I heard of Glee when it aired, but it wasn't until a few years later that I watched it. Being the musical-lover I am I was so happy to have found a series that actually was a musical, which few others have done. I fell hard for the music, the revenge of the underdogs, the diversity come together and the queerness. Even though much in Glee has not aged well, it was a really important feature for its time. As a person who was in choir (though not showchoir) in high school this was the first high school series that I could relate to.
Teachable moments: Something you should think about while watching Glee, especially in 2023, is - don't take everything so seriously. Glee is, though dealing with serious issues, done with a twinkle in the eye. Some stuff are purely ironic. What they did do was that they dared to deal with issues about bullying, body image, racism, homophobia, transphobia and funding for the arts in a way that few, if anyone, did at the time.
Best character: I've always been a huge Klaine-shipper and that inclines me to choose Kurt here. The story of how Kurt was written for Chris Colfer after his audition is amazing and he brings so much to that character and the series. Kurt is a fighter and he knows right from wrong in a very firm way. His relationship with his dad is touching and I love to follow them over the years. I had a friend in middle school, who was the only out guy in school and he reminds me a lot of Kurt.
Best episode: "Quarterback" (S5E3). It's heartbreaking, but I have to choose this episode anyway. When Cory Montieth (1982-2013, rest in peace) who portrayed Finn passed away they choose to make this in his honor. It's a beutifuly made tribute where everyone wears their emotions on their sleaves and where everything feels totaly pure and natural.
Best quote: "Being part of something special does not make you special. Something is special because you're a part of it" (Rachel Berry)
Fun fact: Both Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Naya Rivera (Santana) were cut early from different seasons of American Idol, before staring in Glee.
If you like this you might also like: Orange is the new black, Skins, Heartstopper, Young Royals and Julie and the Phantoms.

It’s too much of a coincidence that your name is a Mc name and you like Paul MCartney r u related
YES YES YES
Well not related but McCartha isn't my real name. Just a nickname bestowed on me by a beloved friend from my old church.
He called me McCartha because my real name is too common in our circle and Paul McCartney is my ride or die celebrity crush.
Like man is about to be 81 but I'd risk it all for him.
I'm madly in love with him.
Don't ask me why.
If it were up to me we'd be related by marriage.
But McCartha has become my penname and what I go by online.
My full fake online name is McCartha Evita Monteith.
I explained McCartha. Evita was a nickname I had in my high school Spanish class because I had a 2 week fixation on Evita the musical.
Monteith is an ode to Cory Montieth who is one of my heroes. He was in Glee and passed away in 2013.
There was a time I contemplated changing my legal name to McCartha because I hate my real name and always knew I wanted to change it.
But currently I'm planning on legally changing my name to something else.
But McCartha is what I will continue using online and maybe if I can finish my novel what I'll publish under it
I've been obsessed with having a penname since I found out Lemony Snicket is actually just some guy named Dan Handler.
I have since just shortened my penname to McCartha Evita because I think it works better.
So if you ever see McCartha Evita or McCartha Montieth anywhere online whether it's social media, blogging or a video game THATS ME! And you can always follow/add me on whatever if you see me.

March 28 2022 Barcelona
Tumblr media
Tania has been giving me massages every week for many years whenever we are here in Barcelona.  She’s a physical therapist but has struggled finding work in her field so she became a massage therapist, which she likes, but which is very physically demanding.  She has worked at hotel spas and is now working in a fitness center.  We have our own table that I bought from Javier, the physical therapist who used to visit us here at the apartment, and I always set up a spa atmosphere with soft music to relax us both.  We have become close friends over the years and I was also friends with her mother, Luisa, who died last November.
Tumblr media
Tania is a delightful person.  She is always happy and smiling, even though she has been saddened by the loss of her mother, to whom she was devoted.  She lives with her boyfriend, Jordi, in an apartment in our neighborhood, where she also has a room for massages for her clients who visit her there.  I look forward every week to her visit and my body is in better shape because of her loving care.
Tumblr media
We don’t watch much television but we are always watching at least one series in the evening after dinner.  When “Glee” first aired we watched it because I had seen the pilot on an airplane and was instantly captivated by it.  We watched the first four seasons but have never seen the last two seasons because it was too hard to watch it after Cory Montieth, who played Finn, our favorite character, died.  Now we have begun watching it again and I’m reading a book about the actors and how they joined the series, in Spanish.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you have never seen “Glee” then I highly recommend you give it a look, especially if you like musical theater.  There has never been a series like “Glee” before and it was VERY successful and won many awards.  The characters are complex and endearing, the story lines are compelling, and the cast are all amazing singers and dancers.
Tumblr media
“Glee” is about a small town high school and the glee club and its members, but it’s so much more.  We became invested emotionally with the characters and looked forward every night to finding out what was happening in their lives, as well as enjoying the musical numbers.  Now that we are watching it again it feels like “coming home” to old friends we have missed.
Tumblr media
“Glee” explores the lives of high school students and also addresses many societal issues, including sexuality and homophobia, family relationships, racism, sexism, ableism, and bullying.  The characters are all a bit quirky and most of them are “misfits’ and have never found their “tribe” until they became members of the glee club.
Tumblr media
I immediately related to these kids because, even though I was a cheerleader and dancer, some of the more popular “jocks” and “beauty queens” didn’t like the fact that I was friends with some of the more academic “brainy” kids, who weren’t part of the “inner circle”, so they shunned me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Glee”  speaks to those of us who were different than the “regular” kids and I could relate to that, because I’ve always had ideas which were different from many people.  That’s why I became a vegetarian and we vegetarians/vegans represent only about 2% of the population.  I think that’s another reason I love this show so much, because I empathize with the characters, especially when they are bullied and I celebrate their successes because I understand how hard they worked to overcome the challenges they faced.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The cast members of “Glee” were mostly very good friends offscreen, too.  Lea Michele, who played Rachel, and Cory Montieth became a couple early on and were still together when he died.  When the series ended most continued building their careers in the entertainment industry and stayed friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unfortunately, and as is so true in real life, there was a lot of tragedy for this group of friends.
Tumblr media
In 2013 Cory Montieth, who played Finn, died of an overdose in a hotel room in Canada.  He had struggled with substance abuse and been in and out of rehab for many years.
Tumblr media
In 2018 Mark Salling, who played Puck, took his own life at the age of 35.  He was facing years in prison for the possession of child pornography and his career had never really developed after the end of “Glee”, so he was probably severely depressed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 2020 Naya Rivera, who played Santana, died while swimming with her son, whose life she saved by putting him back on the boat they had rented on a lake in California.  Members of the Glee cast reunited to honor Naya on the shore of the lake where she died and later online by ZOOM.

Not that they had to (y’all know where I stand on celebrities sharing their grief) but the fact that SO MANY cast members have spoken about Naya even if they were brief guest appearances or extras just shows how lovely of a human she must have been!

Cory and Naya will be together, singing for eternity. Naya will have plenty of time to teach Cory to dance.  They will be visited often by they friend, Mark Salling.
