Decided to take a shot at my own interpretation of “FE Warfare Morality” and whatnot that the fandom is screaming about.

Pacifist: War is absolute last resort no matter what. Celica, Eirika and Corrin could all realistically move to Pragmatist-Retaliatory and fit, but I put them in their own pacifist tier because they all have multiple in-story instances of diplomatic attempts at ending conflict of varying success (sparing enemies, reasoning with bandits, sacrifice of self or possessions); too many to not go noted imo.

Pragmatist-Retaliatory: Diplomacy and peaceful solutions are preferred, but warfare isn’t shied away from. Well aware of war’s reality, and if push comes to shove, they will take up arms. Characters in this tier often had homes invaded and/or parents killed by main aggressor. Avenging homeland or kin may also play a part. Eliwood could actually move up to pacifist because he is that self sacrificing, but I think he fits more where he is. Alm could go to Circumstance or Martial, but idk, he’s willing to give Fernand the benefit of the doubt in Act 3 and outright sends Rudolf an offer of a peace accord in Act 4 so I put him here. Seliph could also go to Circumstance because his willingness to try diplomacy more or less comes after the deed is done (such as questioning having to kill certain people being a necessity), but since his mercy and desire to prevent/avoid conflict is a part of his character, I put him here.

Pragmatist-Circumstance: Views and actions in regards to war are dependent on circumstance:

Lyn offers no quarter to bandits, pirates, or absolutely anyone who harms her family or friends, but is fair to special cases like Jaffar and Nino and does have instances of reasoning with others. 

Ike is a merc, so he often says how he feels doesn’t matter, but is regardless known to try and talk sense into people and be willing to smack folks around in equal measure. 

Micaiah doesn’t like needless conflict but understands the necessity in toppling Begnion’s oppressive rule in Daein and is forced into becoming a ruthless general during Part 3. 

Robin is similar to Ike, in that as a tactician his feelings don’t technically matter but is also known to value diplomacy or winning a battle depending on context. 

Lucina isn’t really in the leadership position enough to make peaceful or action-initiative calls, and when she is the leader in Future Past, it’s against the undead and the very evil Grima. However, her attempted assassination of Robin and general mixed feelings on what she’d do to save the future is enough for me to put her here.

Ryoma can techinically be retaliatory, but his own ignorance and xenophobia towards Nohr often prevents him from being diplomacy seeking, such as in CQ chapter 12. Nevertheless, he’s diplomatic enough after character development that he’s more dependent on circumstance.

Xander actually encourages the diplomatic approaches of Corrin more than once, before route split and during Conquest and Revelation, the latter two which he’s also an active participant in. However, his complicated feelings in regards to Garon and Nohr leads him to do bad things in the belief that it’ll be worth it, so he’s also circumstance.

Azura values peace and is known to compliment successful diplomatic approaches; however, she often questions Corrin’s more naive choices, weaves some relatively cold and calculated plans of her own, and is known to justify conflict more often than Corrin does.

Byleth is hard to guage because his alignment is route dependent, and he more or less serves as a support for the actual main character of said route. Plus his status as a silent protagonist muddies the waters a bit. Still, there is difference enough between the lack of mercy given to the Agarthans and the merciful fights towards former students that lets him land here.

Pragmatist-Martial: Preference for action over treaty attempts or negotiation during wartime, however, that doesn’t mean diplomacy is outright disliked or not valued by them. Hector, Ephraim, and Chrom are all appreciative of how their siblings strive for peace, and the latter two even attempt to emulate such actions on occasion. Sigurd was more than happy to try and pull out of Agustria, but even then, his most common solution to injustice was always marching on the enemy. Leif from the jump was gung-ho about taking down the oppressive forces in Thracia and had to be mellowed out a tad. Dimitri during his descent on the Azure Moon route could fit here, too, though honestly he’s such a unique case. Rhea I would also put here, or maybe Circumstance.

A lot of characters in the Pragmatist-Circumstance and Pragmatist-Martial tiers could also be lumped into Pragmatist-Retaliatory by general technicality (e.g. lots of these characters had homes invaded so retaliation is the expectation), but I wanted to be specific in talking about attitudes towards warfare.

Emperor: It’s just Edelgard lol. Despite her words about “not wanting civilians harmed” or her claims about the war being the only option, it means nothing when her first action in the game is attempted assassination of two people who she (at least to her knowledge in Dimitri’s case) never met. The assistance in kidnapping, subterfuge, conspiracy, human experimentation, and of course the 5 year war which inflicts copious amounts of different harm on the populous also cements her place here.

Plus the devs outright compared her position to past FE villains where she’s different in that she’s 1) a woman and 2) playable, so the twist where she’s behind the war is more of a surprise.

So yeah, that’s my list. Though really, I think trying to fit characters into these types of boxes is kinda stupid in the first place because all the main characters are just that different due to the contexts of their stories, so it’s just generally impossible to make the kinds of compare-and-contrast tier lists like these. Except Edelgard because of her inciting conflict being the one thing no other lord ever does.

The Fell twins aren't Alear's relatives.... THEY ARE CORRIN'S ?!!

Kind of a theory and and at the same time possibly a crossover but dang !!!

Alright, allow me to explain with this little chart

Alright, alright. So. Here is the thing.

Kinship works on a ascendant/descendant system. You need to have the same ancestor as someone else to be considered related to him, that's why we humans are all related to each other to varying degree : with all comes from a different ancestor.

However, with the dragons... it's getting very, very wonky.

Sombron comes from another world, and one at that seems to have no Divine dragon. Lumera is native to Elyos and from Sombron's comment, her specie has always been there in Elyos. Because of the Sombron from another world reveal (that was foreshadowed in chapter 2 when Lumera comments on how Sombron's origins were unknows) Lumera and Sombron can't descend from the same ancestor making Divine and Fell dragon tribe unrelated to each other in the MGElyos. Veyle and Alear host their status of Native to Elyos only because they are born there and that Mage dragon are also a specie native to Elyos.

Forget all of what I said when it comes to the DLC universe however, as in this world, rules are completely different.

This world was originally a dragon less continent. 1 000 years ago, a dragon was born, the divine ancestor of the Divine dragon and the Fell dragon tribe

So basically in this universe, Fell dragons are native to Elyos and Sombron included making him and Fell dragon as a whole relative tribe to Lumera and her kin.

This means that Sombron is genetically unrelated to his counterpart meaning that he and Xenobron are not related and that Sombron is not related (or at least not to a big degree) to the Fell twins and that Alear and Veyle aren't related to Xenobron.

However, we learn from Nel that there was no dragon in Elyos, which is not the case of MG Elyos as indicated by the narration of chapter 2 and Sombron's reaction. So we might wonder, if there was no dragon, then how did one ended up being born ? ... what if it came from another world too ? And do you know which one ?

... Fates world.

Ok, remember that Corrin, the Hoshidan and the Nohrian royals are all descendant of people who received powers from dragon, like Laslow, Odin and Severa did with Anankos ? Well there is one little difference, is that Corrin being the child of Anankos who is one of the 12 First dragon make them a direct descendant of those dragon, unlike the Royals who received their power from their ancestor. Guess how they are called in the JPN version ?

Sombron and Lumera in the Fell Xenologue world share a common ancestor with Corrin !!

And while the two are dead, this means that the Fell twins have a common ancestor with Corrin !! This doesn't concern Veyle and Alear as they aren't descending from the Sombron who is related to the Divine ancestor, but to the one who comes from another universe.

But basically, the bigger picture is... this

The guards say that he is with two young princesses, a “Celica” and a “Corrin”, and are naturally aghast when they find out the truth. That said, this must be dealt with carefully: the king’s, nay, all of House Blaiddyd’s reputation is on the line, and an embarrassment of this magnitude would shame the family for generations to come. There is only one option: to don a variety of disguises as you follow after the king’s date night through the market district and separate him from the ‘princesses’. There truly were never a shortage of surprises around here, though Corrin has never heard her own name be among them. It had left her gawking then, when she had been told originally, and she is hardly much better off now.

She frowns at her hands, flexing fingers against the material of their gloves. It feels more than a little crude, this imitation of her butler’s own attire. Distantly, his voice echoes in her mind, unrelenting as it criticizes her choices. Thank the Dusk Dragon for his absence, really.

On a far more fortunate note, Caeda makes for a decent maid. The real Corrin would know the difference in an instant -- her hair was too dark to belong to either twin, her skin just a bit too warm to be of the ice tribe proper -- but that didn’t matter all too much, considering she was the real Corrin.

“All we have to do is separate them,” eyes have abandoned her gloves, watching the flow of people through the marketplace instead, “so it shouldn’t be too hard, I don’t think.” 

A head of blonde hair atop a set of impressively broad shoulders. There’s their king, unmistakable, though the girls at his sides are far harder to recognize. A ginger that she would assume to be ‘Celica’ and -- her nose wrinkles.

The village of Reval was supposed to be a sleepy village where people meandered about their lives. If you moved all the way out here, it was because you wanted - or needed - to get away. People mostly minded their own business,

yet community blossomed slowly but surely all the same, for humans are creatures wont to look for somewhere to belong.

This family threatens now to fracture, and violently at that.

The problem? Most of you are part of that family now.

What you know

Ilians don't like the thought of dragons. You've found a dragon. Brynn is confused about the rumours that more of his kin have surfaced. He's been alone a long time.

Lysander is the wealthy owner of Reval, and appears to have bailed out the village after its having fallen on hard times. To him, it's a long-term investment. Also, he is purportedly the one who created the tomes some of you have purchased.

Time slips away from you rather suddenly. Some of you have been exploring for a small eternity. Others have been in the village so long now that you've become part of the family. You're not sure when this happened.

Corrin, Lapis, and Lilina sport simple garb, warm but nothing too fancy - quite similar to what the villagers in Reval wear. Eldigan's donned a set of monk's robes in St. Elimine's fashion, same as Weiss'. Edelgard and Ivy look set to be in command, heavy councillors' robes sweeping the floor. Nel and Poe suit up in a warmer version of Sacae's swordsmen. Griss... Griss looks pretty normal, actually. And as for Freyja, she is trapped in her goat form, and feared by all. She is, however, still family.

The world looks, feels different than how you remember it. It's not as colourful as you remember. You get the impression it's been slowly shifting ever since you arrived, but perhaps it had been too subtle to realize until now.

How much time has passed since you were shipwrecked? A moment ago you might have thought it a mere couple of days, but now it feels like it's been forever.

Villagers continue to go missing all the while. Up until now, you've been lucky enough not to number among them. More people have been whisked away overnight than has ever been recorded prior: the yet injured Lapis and Canna have been vanished, alongside Karev, Nel, Cain, and Eldigan. There does not appear to be any of that strange dust left behind where last they were seen, at least. Poe, Griss, and Ivy haven't been seen in town for... some time now.

What to do

Poppy and Dehlia are absolutely super duper fretting about the third member of their Pegasus Knight Trio being missing, and intend to head out to search immediately.

Lysander remains at the tavern, ever cool as a cucumber - though if you ask him, of course he's worried. What on earth is happening? Can he hire you to look into it? He'll send his dear sister, Weiss, as a guide with you if so.

The mines that were said to be abandoned (and condemned besides) do appear to be rather empty so far - save for a certain Hunter's log alongside a curious sphere. Only one way to find out what else awaits within these caverns.

Karev, Nel, Lapis, and Eldigan awaken to find themselves bound, two each to a cell. It's cold, but not as bad as being outside, one presumes. You feel a bit sluggish. Last night is a blur. Last week, month, year is a blur. What exactly happened...?

Here’s something I noticed. Byleth’s moniker of the Ashen Demon, looking at the Japenese it’s not presenting Byleth as white. Grey Devil, according to @faroreswinds is also a legitimate translation. Likewise, Rhea isn’t known as the Immaculate One in Japanese, rather the White One. And of course, Edelgard leads the Black Eagle House.

You take the Black Eagles and White Clouds, you get grey. Just like Byleth, more evidence that the Black Eagles are the intended route. But there’s more.

There’s also that trading quest for the two-toned whetstone. Each one of the items in that quest is a callback to a previous FE game with the final item representing Fates. You can give it to Shamir, who can join the Black Eagles and Edelgard, or Catherine, who won’t join you in Crimson Flower and always sides with Rhea the White. Also, joining Rhea means siding with your kin while siding with Edelgard is siding with the one you’re close to.

It’s comparing siding with Edelgard to siding with Nohr. Nohr, who is invading other countries and represented by black. But unlike Conquest Corrin, Byleth doesn’t realize they’re serving a monster or work to expose her. They just follow, possibly subverting her orders by sparing some enemies but at the end of the day, they helped her conquer a continent and there’s no Xander to make things right either. And it’s not like the Empire is as resource-starved as Nohr is either, meanwhile siding with the Hoshido analogue also has the player defeat the hidden threat pulling Edelgard’s strings unlike in Birthright.

It’s like, the game is saying by siding with Edelgard it’s like siding with Garon. You’re her Hans.

Baba yaga was walking through her garden as she was holding Delilah by her hair as she was passed out. She was covered in blood yet her dark red cloths were hiding most. 

Her granddaughters were following her as corrin had a saw off shot gun. They were looking for unwanted Guests and visitors.

"Wow cass really hates them." Remarked Constance. "Yeah the same people Violently assaulted her killed her family in front of her and forced her to make everyone's lives a living hell," remarked her sister. "I'd be one who'd violently rip out her own gullet."

baba yaga lived in a house that was massive or at needs to be cured on the inside than the outside. Her house on the bottom had bird feet allowing travel to be easier for her.

Yet her favorite mode of transport that she used to drag Delilah's body here was her giant mortal and pestle. They were inside the house now and they saw yaga's cat sitting next to a new woman who looked very scared and sad. 

She was a drow, her white hair messy and coiled around in a bun. She looked scared and she was petting the cat, she was speaking in undercommon.

"you are new." Spoke baba yaga this causes the battered woman to look to them "sorry!" She tries to make herself smaller "hey now don't, we aren't going to hurt you." Baba closes the door "says the one the saw off gun!" She yelled when corrin laughs "we one I carry this to protect my family but how did you get here?"

"Oh... well I remember being cold and a rush of wind also mice on my neck and arms." Constance looked A little freaked out and asked "is that all?"

"Yes. Also I am named a half soul?" She didn't sound very sure of herself and baba yaga nods "cool great well you are deader than dried bones in the Desert, possessed by a ghost, you are dead man. Deader than bones puppeted around a ghost, You can see on your neck." She touched her neck "oh." She sounded broken and small "how do you know this?" She was getting angry "well if you were alive, borealis would have greeted you by now." Baba then turned to of her kin "Constance," her granddaughter looked up "Can you take this woman's body down to the basement?" The firbolg nods and then the Drow asked "why?" 

"Because We have to keep it of her body so necromancers don't get any ideas." The drow nods "cool." The cat was purring as Jane was smiling soft feeling a little better now "so Since your way it is, we have an idea."

The drow looks up "yes?" She was handed some new clothing as Constance brought her to a mirror.

They were looking in "well, if you look in this mirror." said Constance jane saw herself she saw Herself, she looked a little bit more fox like or wolf like but still held her drow like qualities, but she looked tired and her hair which was usually cleanly, kept and cared for looked like an absolute mess.

"What am I?" Constance Hums a bit and then says well you look to be some form of a Kikimora, which is a type of house spirit that doesn't necessarily evil nor good often. They are tied to the state of the house and the home."

"Oh Do all dead people become them?" The firbolgs laughs a bit "well no you are though." Her laughter was light hearted and Jane looks at herself and as the firbolg was brushing and putting her hair up "what is your name and the other two names?"

"Oh That's my sister and my grandmother. Baba yaga is my grandmother and my sister is named corrin." Jane smiles "well Constance I think you can call me half soul. Also am I staying here?" 

"Yes." Spoke the elder woman who was cleaner now though her White apron was still blood stained and she was currently wiping her hands off with a purple towel. "You shall meet borealis tomorrow." 

She nods as the cat jumps on her lap again "thanks."
