In Joseph Boedell’s living quarters on the east side of the secured underground bunker another conversation was taking place...
Corbin Goth, the nephew of Alex Goth-Boedell through his brother Nicholas was in the room with Joseph. Corbin was on the council and was a mage of potions, he taught here at the school.
CORBIN- “So why on earth would Alex invite him here?? Especially now, just two days before---
JOSEPH- “I don’t know Corbin. Grandfather not once mentioned that he was inviting him. I called Mother and she had no idea that he was invited also. Something is just not right.”
CORBIN- “I know ...Tiberius is powerful, but he certainly could not use his powers of compulsion on Alex all the way from Selvardorada.”
JOSEPH- “No, he couldn’t, but I do know that he and Tiberius have continued to communicate over the past eight years. Maybe he has convinced grandfather---
CORBIN- “Alex is not easily convinced of anything, Joseph. Especially by the one that caused so much damage to our coven, and the realm. Alex voted for his expulsion just like everyone else. You know how many died, Joseph.”
JOSEPH- “I know very well, Corbin, my father was one of them. But none of this makes sense. If I am to be the new Realm Master, you would think grandfather would have told me why he invited him here. He has something up his sleeve.”
CORBIN- “You mean Alex?”
JOSEPH- “No, I mean Tiberius. He somehow has convinced grandfather to allow him to come to the ceremonies, and he is planning something, I just know it.
CORBIN- “Joseph, you need to calm down. I will find out. But you need not let Tiberius know that you are worried about him being here.”
JOSEPH- “I am not worried, Corbin, I am afraid!! Deathly afraid. Tiberius has no conscience, or moral compass. If he was to----
CORBIN- “Stop, Joseph...I love you more than anything in this entire world, and nothing is going to hurt you, Tiberius Boedell or not. I will see to it.”
JOSEPH- “Corbin, be realistic, we have no ace up our sleeve that can take care of him, I mean the only reason he left was because his mother begged him. If it wasn’t for her, those votes of the council meant nothing.
CORBIN- “Okay, I know all this, just calm down okay. Your grandfather wouldn’t do anything to put any of us in harm's way. Whatever reason he has for bringing Tiberius here is good, if anything about Tiberius is good. But we have to trust Alex.”
With that he takes Joseph into his arms and kisses him.
JOSEPH- “I love you Corbin, always the voice of reason.”

About that time Aniceta walks over to her son and grandson, and interjects into their conversation.
ANICETA- “Yes, Ty, it is somewhat weird that he has faded into the woodwork so to speak, and I can not seem to read his thoughts, and he has not been forthcoming at all about his whereabouts. It did concern me at first, but he has been back now almost six months. He hasn’t done anything to give me any reason for concern.”
TIBERIUS- “I still think I would keep a close eye on him, from what you have told me about him, this could be a plan of some kind. Maybe when I come to the island next week, I can try and see if I can read his mind and just see what is going on in there. It would give you some more satisfaction and security that he is on the up and up.”
ANICETA- “So you are coming for the summer!? I am delighted. I will make sure to have a room ready for you.”
SULLY- “It will be good to have you there, Ty.”
As they are talking, Michael is also having a conversation with his son, and Corbin Goth.
MICHAEL- “So, what are your plans for the summer, boys?”
CORBIN- “I wanted to go to Windenburg, but Joseph has decided to go to Selvadorada with Ty, so it looks like a summer in the tropics is our destination.”
JOSEPH- “I just thought being in a whole different culture would be enlightening, even if it is just for the summer. Plus, Ty says it is beautiful there. Peaceful.”
MICHAEL- “I think you both will enjoy it, but maybe compromise and spend half the summer there, and the other half in Windenburg?”
JOSEPH-“That’s an idea, maybe we will do that.”
CORBIN- “Oh so if your dad suggests it, it is something you would consider, but not when I suggested it.”
JOSEPH- “You never mentioned that, Corbin.”
CORBIN- “I thought you could read minds? Hmmm, guess not.”

Up until that time, Joseph and I were home-schooled, by Uncle Michael and his wife, Bea, along with Timothy Goth’s two children, Lena and Corbin. Timothy was Grandfather Alex’s youngest brother. He married later in life to a young witch from Newcrest and moved into the Goth Manor across the street when his mother, and grandfather passed.
Lena was a year older than I, and Corbin was a year younger than Joseph. Lena however was not as skilled as I or, Joseph for that matter. Corbin was intellectually gifted, but had very few magic abilities. Lena and I were like minded, and we naturally became close as children. Corbin and Joseph were inseparable. Birds of a feather, you could say. But the four of us were close, very close. Not being in the public school system, we never really saw other children so we really had no other friends.
Even though mother said time and time again that the discussion of me going to Alexandria to the Realm House was not up for discussion, Jules continued to make it her goal to bring it up at every opportunity. Anytime I disobeyed, any time I was sneaky, or any time I did anything that she didn’t like. Which to be honest was quite often. Finally by the end of that summer, Jules had won. They had cornered Joseph when they found the bowl we used to cast the fake spell in our room. He told them everything. About the spells, and about all the gifts I had, and about using them to get what I wanted not only from them, but on Corbin and Lena. But not even Joseph knew everything. He had no idea at that time that I had vampiric gifts of mind control and compulsion. But Jules knew, and soon she was able to convince Mother, Michael and Bebe.
But all that ended that summer and when school was to begin, Joseph, Corbin and Lena and myself were ALL sent to Alexandria, under the watchful eye of my mother, who was the Realm Master at the time, Simon Brouchard and of course, Jules.
