Copperhead didn't reveal any signs of being metahuman until he lost his baby teeth. Instead of regular teeth, hollow fangs grew in their place, his tongue lengthening and becoming forked as the rest of his body began to reflect the morphology of a snake. His parents were not only shocked but disgusted by the change in their eldest child, mistreating him further as punishment for bringing 'bad luck' to the family name.
