I'd love for him to go back to Barca too but like you said, barca prob can't even afford him in any capacity right now, and the less said about laporta the better. what pisses me off is how leo, uncharacteristically, has actually spoken about how much what laporta did and his barca exit in general negatively affected him and basically made him doubt his career and capabilities for a while (also i heard he apparently asked for a few days to process, which iirc would've made the farewell with some fans since spain was rolling back restrictions at the time, and they told him no and made him do that presser 🤡) but a lot of barca and even messi fans choose to ignore that and act like leo should meet laporta halfway or something. as if laporta is even waiting halfway, all he's been doing is spreading rumors on his own adn through cronies like that weirdo romero to make leo seem like the bad guy shunning them and they'd just love to have him back at any time 😐. that being said, i actually agree that i'd like him to renew with psg, esp since the copa is next year. neymar MIGHT be leaving but also paredes is probably coming back and we know marco's staying so i think it's possible honestly regardless of all the rumors. i don't want mls either, but as long as he makes it to the copa idm anything tbh 😭 and newell's sounds perfect tbh, i hope we get to see it!!
Absolutely, like despite it all, I am still holding out hope that Messi goes back to Barca one more time before the end of his career. I've been hearing a lot of chatter online of apparently his dad meeting with Laporta and hypotheticals of some players like Busi, Alba and Roberto having to lower their wages if Messi does come back.
Lord, I haven't seen the Messi fans saying anything but I have seen a lot of petty Barca fans being like "oh it's such a great thing that Messi left", "we're able to rebuild and focus without him", "it wouldn't be financially smart if he came back". Like okay first of all, Barca went without ANY trophies last season and have literally been playing in Europa for the last two years - so shut the hell up. And second, Messi dead ass offered to take a 50% (!!!!!!!!) pay cut to help the club. Any other financial struggles we have are Barto to blame or the backward ways we've been promising to pay back clubs that we've signed players from.
And omg, I am so serious when I say i actually think about how much Laporta disrespected Messi during his last season. The fact that he said during his acceptance speech after becoming presidency that his first plan of action is to keep messi at barca in front of cameras and putting him in the spot???? He was bringing it up at random press conferences that he DREAMS about Messi signing his extension contract. He just KEPT bringing up Messi and keeping him at Barca whenever he could. It will always break my heart when I remember that Aguero said Messi had a barca jersey with him during Copa America because he was so excited to pose with him when his contract renewal was announced🙁 Like I'm actually HAUNTED when i think about Messi crying at that BS press conference.
Laporta absolutely needs to be on his damn hands and knees apologizing to Messi. Even the fact that he tried to lie on his name after he left the club and Messi had to come out and dispute what he was saying and then Laporta admitted that he lied about asking Messi to play for free. LIKE WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JERK. Like no offence, I agree with what Matias Messi said in his rant, not about Messi making Barca famous but that Laporta is just an idiot.
But yeah, staying at psg is the ideal option right now. Exactly, Copa America is the aim here and so ill firm a few more seasons at 🇫🇷😵💫
#ill never forget setting an alarm at 6am to watch his good bye conference on youtube#waking up and watching it in bed and when he walked out and it was so obvious he was already crying and then seeing him in tears before#and then him going to antonella to get a tissue like i was REALLY crying at 6am in the morning i couldn't believe it#it was the worst day i've ever experienced as a football fan right after him retiring after copa '16#even the announcement that he was leaving barca was INSANEEEE#i feel like ive written so much already so i wont spam but let me know if ur interested in how i found out about him leaving barca

"Women will not be allowed to practice sports that go against their nature, and for this purpose, the National Sports Council must issue the necessary instructions to the country's sporting entities”, said decree-law 3,199 of April 14, 1941. The article was created during the Vargas Era and was in force until 1983. During all this time, he banned, among the sports considered masculine, the practice of women's football in Brazil".
These were years of oppression. Years of struggle, losses, achievements, tears, sweat and lots and lots of blood. It has only been 41 years since the practice of football by women was allowed in Brazil and all the investment and visibility of this sport came in even more recent times, but still and as always, we overcame all adversities.
With just 41 years of freedom we managed to create a name and reputation for our women's team, we brought in important names that entered the history of the sport such as Sissi, Formiga and the most known of all, Marta. With all this history, we have two silver medals in Olympic games, third places in World Cups, several Copa América titles and football that enchants almost everyone.
Tonight, once again, we make history and exceed the world's expectations. After 16 years, the women's football team returns to compete in an Olympic final, beating France, the home team (and this being the first time in history that Brazil has won) and even more recently the current world champion, Spain, a team with countless strong and highly skilled players.
I can't express in words all the pride I feel for these women just for the fact that they exist, but even more so now that we're back to a time of glory even after a terrible group stage, but football is like that, at some point you're at the top of the world and in the next second you could be on your knees on the pitch, shedding tears over a lost game.
Minutes after the match, Jenni Hermoso gave the following statement to Spanish radio: "We conceded four goals from a team that, for me, doesn't play football. But in the end what matters are the goals. I believe these were our faults. We don't play our football. They study us, they know how to hurt us, for me it's not football. I don't like this type of football. Obviously, they gained minutes, they lost you time, and for them, that was worth it. They're in the final and we're going for bronze."
Even with everything we have achieved in such a short time and with immeasurable difficulty, they still try to diminish us, our achievements, our struggles. But the message at the end of all this is this: You may not like us, how we play, how we vibe, how we cheer on and off the field, our celebrations and seeing us at the top, but that doesn't matter because back in 1941, the majority didn't like it either, but still Here we are. In search of glory, once again.

we need to win just one more goal it would be even better if lamine was to score it but we can’t be too picky. either way if we lose I already know he’s gonna get some heat for it, he missed two good chances but he’s been running like crazy for 90+ mins
i know, when he missed the open goal literally my heart broke for him because you know he’s beating himself up for it. he’s just really green when it comes to this, and he’s 16 and our best player. it shouldn’t be his responsibility, we need the other grown ass men to step up.

CAPÍTULO 03: LARGA VIDA AL REY.
Ambientación: 19 de Octubre, 16:00 p.m. en adelante.
Clima: Cielo nublado.
Vestimenta: Ropa casual, abrigada. Colores neutros oscuros.

Any word on where the women’s el Classico will be played next year I brought tickets and it’s say the Barcelona women’s ground. Is the el Classico not played on neutral ground
oh no no, my dear anon. it appears you are very confused! let's go back to the basics. 🤔
how does the spanish league work?
barcelona and real madrid are two teams in the spanish league. the women's league is called liga f.
liga f has 16 teams, and each team will play each other twice (once at home and once away) for the regular league season.
the top teams also may play each other in domestic cup competitions like the supercopa and copa de la reina, depending on how they do in the regular season in a given year.
if both spanish teams do well in champions league, then they could theoretically play each other in the knockout rounds like what happened back in 2022 for barça and real madrid.
top spanish teams also do pre-season exhibition friendlies during the summer and at other times of the year and may play each other in a foreign country at that time.
now, what is el clàssic (catalan) or el clásico (spanish)?
anytime barcelona and real madrid play each other, it's called el clàssic.
it could happen in any of the combinations above (league play, cup match, champion, exhibition), but el clàssic happens a minimum of two times per year (league play). and like i said above, it will be played at each club's home stadium, just like all liga f matches.
for the other combos, it depends and could theoretically happen on a neutral pitch like with exhibitions.
remember that barcelona originally set the world record attendance for a women's match against real madrid in camp nou!

She’s a scab. She only cares about herself and what she can personally gain. She let her “friends” take the fall more than once now so she could get a world cup and continue to push that she’s the best player in the world when in reality she played like absolute dog shit and really that second ballon dor shouldn’t have gone to her in the 1st place. She’s just trying to stay relevant sorry that I’m giving you guys the truth 🤷♀️
Welcome to @handmeascalpel's ted talk, I'm your host @batlleonafc buckle up and enjoy the ride
Hello, anon. I've read everything you've mentioned. Do you have any evidence to support your claims? Considering that I'm reading this now, you don't. So, let me present the evidence I have. If you understand after this, great. If not, I can't stop people from forming their own opinions.
Exhibit A:
You said, "she only cares about herself and what she can personally gain."
On September 1, 2022, Alexia tweeted in support of Irene Paredes when the RFEF essentially blamed her for the players' opposition to the federation. Alexia was injured at the time and wasn't even in camp or eligible for a call-up. She was the first to tweet, sparking the revolution against the RFEF.
Ironically, on September 23 of the same year, exactly one year ago, Alexia was the first to post the Las15 statement, stating that the players wanted a "firm commitment for a professional project" and expressing their unhappiness that private conversations with the federation were leaked.
Exhibit B:
You said, "she let her friends take the fall more than once so she could get a World Cup."
As I mentioned earlier, Alexia was injured and therefore ineligible for a call-up. So her statement and email were never considered valid.
Every statement has always been posted by her first because she has a large following. She has consistently spoken out loudly and clearly about the problems. She never let friends take any fall. More proof is attached below.
She went to the World Cup because she was fit and couldn't escape sanctions, in case you forgot about them. I'd like you to tell me how many players who came back from an ACL injury immediately played well, or maybe just give me some names.
#seacabo was started by Alexia, and she took the lead for everything. It's not hard to find this evidence. Regardless of what people like you want to say about her, both on and off the pitch, you can see what kind of person she is.
Exhibit C:
You say, "that second Ballon d'Or shouldn't have gone to her in the first place."
Who do you think should have won it then? I'd be happy to hear your answer.
But since you brought up the Ballon d'Or, let me share a few things:
Official stats from the 2021/22 season:
La Liga Femenina:
- 26 games played.
- 18 goals scored.
- 16 assists.
Copa de la Reina:
- 4 games played.
- 4 goals scored.
- 1 assist.
Supercopa de España:
- 2 games played.
- 1 goal scored.
- 1 assist.
UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL):
- 10 games played.
- 11 goals scored.
- 3 assists.
Regarding the Ballon d'Or voting, she only missed out on 29 days, equivalent to one tournament (the Euros). Nobody came close to her stats, and she's a midfielder. These stats are only for her club. Her national team stats are just as impressive, as she has been crucial in every single match, not just easy ones. She essentially surpassed her own record from the previous season when she won the Ballon d'Or. In short, she deserved it.
There's more to a player than just stats, especially for defenders. But the stats Alexia has as a midfielder are outstanding.
Exhibit D:
Finally, you said, "she's just trying to stay relevant." Sorry to say, but she doesn't have to say anything to stay relevant.
She uses her influential platform to talk about what's true and important, unlike many players. Ramona Bachmann is a good example, and even Athenea, for that matter.
I hope you've learned something today, anon. If not, good luck with your opinion of Alexia. You might just look foolish for hating on her.
Thank you for listening to @handmeascalpel's ted talk I hope you learned something today!
