Mexico's Mission: Bringing Nationals Home Safely

  Presidential Orders for Humanitarian Mission

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has ordered the mobilization of two aircraft from the Mexican Air Force for a crucial mission: sending them to Tel Aviv, Israel, to facilitate the repatriation of Mexican nationals trapped in a region experiencing escalating violence over the past week.   Coordinated Efforts for Repatriation The coordination of these humanitarian flights will be overseen jointly by the Secretariats of National Defense (Sedena) and Foreign Relations (SRE). At present, approximately 300 individuals have expressed their desire to return to Mexico on these flights, as reported by the president. This number, however, is subject to constant updates as the situation unfolds.  

Mexico's Vigilant Diplomacy

The Mexican government, through its Embassy in Israel and the Representative Office in Palestine, has remained acutely aware of the evolving events in the region. They have been diligently responding to inquiries and pleas for assistance from Mexican citizens residing or visiting Israel and Palestine. Moreover, they are actively identifying those who wish to evacuate and are orchestrating the necessary efforts to make it possible.   Families in Distress Additionally, in close collaboration with the Embassy of Israel, the Government of Mexico is maintaining communication with the families of the two missing Mexican men and one Mexican woman. This communication is sustained as they work closely with Israeli authorities in their efforts to locate their loved ones.  

Support Network for Mexicans Abroad

Operational around the clock, the Information and Attention Center for Mexican People, in conjunction with the Diplomatic Liaison Center and the Mexican Embassy in Israel, has responded to 336 calls and emails. In this capacity, they have been providing personalized assistance, offering essential guidance, and consistently updating Mexican nationals on the current situation in the region.   Mexican Community in Israel With approximately 5,000 Mexican residents registered in Israel, this mission dedicates itself to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens during this tumultuous period. Among them, two reside in the Gaza Strip, and 35 are located in the West Bank. As Mexico's government acts swiftly to repatriate its citizens from a conflict-ridden zone, it steadfastly reaffirms its commitment to the safety and welfare of its nationals abroad.
