When: Present Day [Game Time] Where: Dirk's Apartment With: Fenrir @redmoonrisings

It had been a long day and Dirk was looking forward to a quiet night in translating some Giant Runes for the Ministry and a late showing of ‘The Price is Right’ on is TV; much as he loved the world of magic, he loved the muggle world just as much- though, his Thursday night in was interrupted by a sharp rap on his door. Dirk frowned, not expecting a visitor to his flat, and headed to the entrance. Looking through the peep hole, he could make out through figure there and froze for a moment- and only a moment. 

He could alert the ministry, he could send a Patronus to old Order members, or he could follow his gut and see *the good* he knew was present in every living person.

Swallowing, Dirk unlatched and opened the door to the large frame of Fenrir Greyback. 

“Good evening, Mr. Greyback,” Dirk said politely, smiling up at the man, “Can I get you a cup to tea? I was just about to brew some silver needle.” And stepping back, he invited the werewolf into his apartment.

He’d thought being away for as long as he had would render the space unfamiliar to him, yet Josh found himself wandering through the trees just like he’d done after being brought to the school; there was a slight comfort in their sameness.

S ran ahead of him, tail wagging, nose high, sniffing everything and anything. Josh briefly wondered if the dog remembered the space as well but then he took off after catching a scent and Josh frowned, following at a more sedate pace. He felt the creature before he saw them, recalling how he touched, healed and harmed Fenrir before the enormous wolf came into view. He nodded respectfully and sat next to S, hands folded calmly in his lap, “Hello Fenrir.” He said quietly, looking up at him, “I was just thinking the forest hasn’t changed very much, and now here you are, looking exactly the same.”

Fenrir knew most of the woods of the east coast, visiting them quite often, checking what he decided was his territory. Crossing Midgardians was a part of this routine, sometimes the wolf was ignoring them, and sometimes he was just simply eating them.

Wandering in his wolf shape, the wolf stopped his pace when a familiar smell hit him. It didn't take long for a dog to show up, making the old wolf growl in reaction. He knew him but waited for the dog to calm down and lay down to act more friendly, teaching him some manners in front of the father of all wolves. Not stupid, Sunny seemed to understand the lesson and obeyed, his wagging tail hitting the ground. Pleased, Fenrir sat down in return, his attention moving to another known smell incoming. It has been a while. "Hi Joshua." Peacefully greeted the wolf when the mutant finally showed up.

"Han er her!" Egil yells, a sudden and roaring noise that takes passing wolves by surprise as he sprints towards his brother. There's genuine amusement in his laughter when the brothers collide, Egil roughly tussling with Loki as a way to say a thousand words at once. For the way they were parted, for the way they traveled without one another for years now. "Jeg kan ikke tro at du ikke kunne vente noen dager til, vi kom alle hit mens du var borte!" he chimes out in glee. But there is a drop in Egil's stomach, one that he wishes to ignore as he reunites with Loki. Who he left the town with causes the pit to form, Egil pulling away to then punch Loki harshly in the chest. First with intent, but then a kinder one before he's more overcome with seeing his brother again. "Alle oss! Alle av oss overlevde!" he shouts out again and then delivers a cheering scream that rivals a battle cry into the town street.

Tyr laughed, trying his best to convince his brother to join them at the Garcia house even if he knew it wasn't likely to happen. His eyes quickly scanned over the baby wipes and diapers as he let Fen move him through the aisle. He laughed but only slightly because he still hadn't been able to say anything about it. He didn't even know how to bring it up. "I don't think that'd happen to me any time soon." Not from lack of trying. Ty was a hopeless romantic like his father and brother, but seemed unluckier than the two of them when it came to love. His dating history was impressive but nobody had ever been the one. Even he sung from the rooftops every time as if they were. "Yup, Xav said it was all good. It's kinda funny, people shit their pants about Diego but he seems...nice?" he shrugged. Although, nobody seemed as nice as their own father. Wolf was a hard father figure to beat. "Oh yeah, she's around. Always doing her cute Lola shit." he shrugged, scanning the shelves for snacks that he's been trusted to bring. "Chips and dip? Can't go wrong, right?"

"Me? At a party? You think I'm in my twenties?" Fen's laugh boosted through the small store, both hands grabbing his younger brother by the shoulders to steer him. He directed Tyr so quickly down the other line of shelves, ignoring the collection of baby necessities stacked to the side of them."Nah, I appreciate the offer but that's not for me these days. You'll get it when you're a dad and got a lovely lady you'd rather be at home with." Fen explained like it was the gospel because to him it was. He let go of Tyr, spotting the beer bottles and grabbing one. He was still a Cross, after all and pried the cap off with his teeth to drink while they browsed. He'd pay for it when they got to the front. "So, party at a Garcia's house. Interesting choice." He didn't speak suspiciously but with amusement instead, already laughing and well aware of the name while he was growing up. "Is Lola still around these days? She was great, probably my favorite Garcia."

So I just saw the “laurence would’ve killed innocents” thing and I wanted to give my take on it. Laurence should be held accountable for killing that many people in general, but it should also be taken into account the circumstances. People acknowledge that he killed innocent werewolves very often, what people don’t acknowledge is usually what prompted him to kill those people.

Laurence, Katelyn, and Aphmau were drugged, turned into meifwas, and then sold like cattle to the werewolves. Laurence and Katelyn were held prisoner, and then given a spot in the wedding ceremony to await death while they watch Aphmau be forced into marrying Fenrir. Laurence then proceeded to snap and kill a large number of werewolves, only to be stopped by Aphmau. Not only was Laurence under a traumatizing amount of duress that’d result in a violent response from most people, we don’t actually know how much choice he had in his shadow knight transformation.

So essentially yeah, Laurence definitely killed innocent people and should be held accountable, but saying that no context makes it sound like he killed them with the clear understanding they were innocent and with a real viable alternative to escape the situation. Manslaughter versus first degree murder, essentially.

I will say, you are absolutely correct. When I tend to have rants like that my brain gets a bit too overloaded which can lead to fuckups like that.

I think what I wanted to say with my rant that I fucked up with is ‘maybe there should have been more development WITH that’. Like- from what I can recall, they had like one convo about it and then it was swept under the rug (if my memory serves me correctly which it might not be-)

I think the main thing that I see wrong with the mief’wa wedding is the fact that there wasn’t a lot of explored repercussions- for instance the slaughter reaching the ears of other werewolves and screwing up alliances like Bright Port.

So yes, you are absolutely correct, there are explanations that I hadn’t mentioned, that’s on me- i have no clue what I’m trying to say here *wheeze*

Hopefully this all is worded correctly I struggle a shitton with wording things correctly which is what has essentially happened with the laurence post-

Only a few things made Eustace uncomfortable, and going to the woods, ALONE, to meet H I M, was one of them. Internally he cursed that fateful day he found himself at the Shrieking Shack waiting for a date that would never show up. It had been a trap and he fell for it. That's how their story started... More for Eustace than Fenrir, since he was the one who had more to lose, in his opinion.

What other members of the Cabal would think of this, oh he had an idea, but he would never confess to it. It was the price to pay to keep some people safe. He looked around, smoking his pipe, he would show up anytime soon, and Eustace was curious about the nature of their meeting.

From an outsider’s perspective, he could see the appeal in Garrison Manor. It was huge- surrounded on all sides by crawling vines plump with grapes, lined with fruit trees and a crystalline pond full of goldeen and magikarp. And the house itself was expansive and expensive and demanded attention from all who basked in its very, very bright light. It was a beacon to the rest of Thistle Hill, the middle-of-nowhere town north of Petalberg that his parents called home. 

To him, it was a lot of steep expectations growing up, which he had made a lifetime of skirting around or doing on his own terms. His mother was a retired world-famous coordinator and his father was the revered gym leader of Thistle Hill, and he guessed his sister had been training day and night to take over for him some day. 

As for Fen? He had a box full of ribbons and a single trophy collecting dust in his room, and that was it. That was what he had to show for all of his hard work. Well, that and Ralts. She’d been levitating more than walking those days- a sure sign, according to his mother, that she would evolve soon. He smiled down at her and she whirled around in a circle. She hated coming home just as much as he did-- he wasn’t the only one with some steep parental expectations.

“We are going to be fine,” he said aloud, though he wasn’t sure if it was for Ralts to hear or himself. Before he could figure out an answer, he heard the sound of the gate’s locking mechanism click, and then it swung open on its hingers.

“Home sweet home,” he grumbled.

Of course he had to be impressed, he wasn't dealing with an amateur muggle fortuneteller who relied only on books to learn about his art. But something in the tone of his client sounded mocking, but he was used to it. It was a lifestyle to get people laughing at the face of fate.

"All the time. People don't like to listen to the truth." He explained in a flat tone, "we usually S E E the danger coming. Some choose to escape it, others choose to face it and throw a curse or two to fix the issue like a civilized modern wizard would."

Fenrir wondered how much a party trick like this could tell, but in the end, what did it matter? Correct or otherwise, he would have his fun. And his ACTION, eloquently pointed out by the wizard behind the booth. "More interesting than I was prepared to give you credit," he admitted, eyeing the cards that had been placed in front of him. "I'll keep that in mind the next time I've got something going my way." Or not, but RECKLESSNESS was practically written into his blood... it was not the wolf that planned ahead, but the dwindling man behind it.

"Tell me," he let a nail dig deeper into the wood, drawing up shavings; "does anyone come back DISPLEASED with your advice? I've always wondered what happens to you blokes when someone catches you on the streets."
