Let me tell you a story. A friend of mine told me that one of her college classmates participated in a hip-hop dance competition (SDC). Although she didn’t get a particularly impressive ranking, she was one of the top 100. Then she saw Xiao Zhan, and everyone knew that they were in a relationship, so they didn’t hesitate to visit him on set. What I said is just a rough estimate. I don’t have a membership so I can’t send pictures. I can swear that what I said is true, not a single word is fake, unless my friend lied to me, but I believe in my friend’s character

I'd also like to contribute a relatively old story, although many people should know it hahaha, that is, the two of them share resources. Someone around my friend is a staff member, and has read the confidentiality agreement of Zan Studio, which seems to say that there can be no conflict of interest with Bo, and to satisfy Bo to the greatest extent. Because Zan has a studio, resources are more free, and if there is something suitable for Bo, he will contact him directly. ( this was in 2020 )

Then I will also share my own experience. I participated in a New Year's Eve party. The lady sitting next to me is from the industry. She is not familiar with Bo Xiao, but the artist she knows has a good relationship with Xiao Xiao. The artist told her that Xiao had a boyfriend in the CQL crew. The artist told Xiao not to date him. Xiao Zhan said firmly, "I will not break up with my boyfriend."

I'll tell you one, my friend's sister is Jixiangkong's assistant, her sister doesn't like xx, um, she's a wyb fan, my friend knows I'm a fan and told me that her sister took a photo with wyb, I asked her indirectly to find out, she said her sister refused to tell, it was around 2019, she suddenly told me that her sister was a little bit abnormal, one day she said for no reason that wyb has turned gay.

My friend is a director of a certain Spring Festival Gala, and his family also works in this field. He has some connections. He used to think I was a fan of him and told me not to be a fan because he likes men. (To prevent screenshots, I can't say whether he is older or younger)

I'll also contribute one. My friend's dance teacher has been with the CQL crew, and after knowing that my friend likes Xiao Xiao, she told my friend that they were dating in CQL. My friend was almost broken. (She wf) ( wf means weifen = solo fan )

Reading the Room at a 5th Grade Level: MC's Curse and Taiga's Memory Issues???

Hi. My name is Yuri and I am an idiot. You see, when I downloaded Tokyo Debunker and I saw what happened to the MC I was confused. "Why did everything go red?" I asked myself. "It's like we were in another dimension!" I unhelpfully said at some point probably. Well I finally googled the name of the station the MC said "was not her usual stop" and guess what? I should have done that way fucking sooner because it's related to a Japanese urban legend, much like Takeru in Episode 2. And helps me with what I noticed yesterday while I was re-reading the Hotarubi episode.

This post contains spoilers for Hotarubi's Episode, viewer discretion is advised.

When the MC is contacted by the spirit who allegedly curses her she is riding the train home from a concert. She receives a text message from someone with a spider lily profile picture, in English their user name is "Mina." Before we are confronted by Mina, the conductor announces that the train's next stop is Kisaragi Station, a station that dear reader, does not exist. It's also extremely famous! But I am not smart or up to date on horror things so I didn't know (⁄ ⁄•⁄-⁄•⁄ ⁄) so sorry if this is all stuff you guys already knew.

Kisaragi Station

The original post about Kisaragi station was, as best I can tell, made on a site called 2chan, which is a Japanese anonymous forum. I was able to find a post about it on r/nosleep from 2019 which claims that people started posting about it on reddit in 2010, and another post on Quora translating a thread that was posted to twitter. There are a few common themes to the urban legend, but there are three I find particularly relevant to our situation.

The station is believed to be on the border of our world and the "other world." It is possible to leave the station, we will get into how in a moment, but attempting to leave it by following the train tracks will get you killed. Especially if you attempt to cross through the train tunnel, that will take you across the point of no return. The original post describes hearing the sound of drums and bells, similar to a Japanese festival, that get louder the closer you get to the tunnel. Accepting rides from people in the vicinity of the station will also kill you. Cell service is active in the area, but you aren't able to find location information and people will not be able to find you. The anomaly on the train we see isn't tied to Kisaragi Station as far as I can tell, and I have been combing through various yokai to see if I can find anything like it but so far I haven't had much luck.

Back to how to leave the station, you have to light something on fire. Specifically something that causes smoke. Paper seems to be the most common suggestion. It's a small detail, but since the game starts with us seeing the school on fire I thought it was an interesting thing to note.

I added Taiga into the title of the post as in the translated twitter thread, the concept of memory loss the longer you stay in Kisaragi is brought up. We never actually see Taiga leave the station, and the MC only leaves it because Haku does something with his artifact. In Episode 5 Haku says he was not using his stigma to put the children's spirits to rest, implying that spiritual energy adn stigmas are different powers he can use. I am going to propose something kind of crazy at the end of this entire post about Haku, but for now just dealing with the facts presented in game he specifically says he "cordoned off" the area. Does he mean that he took the train to Kisaragi station? Or was MC always going there? And if he was the one responsible for doing that then uh. How did Taiga leave the station and get back to Darkwick? Was he trapped there and did he wander around for a long time, doing permanent damage to his memory in the process? Or am I over thinking this and he lost track of the anomaly and lit something on fire so he could leave. I like the idea of him lighting the station on fire and the ghosts asking him to leave, but that's probably not what happened lol

Red

When the train reaches Kisaragi Station in game, the color pallet swaps to red. Much like it does in Episode 5 when MC receives a certain visitor:

We learn later on that this is Zenji, and that Zenji is dead. MC seems to be reacting to his presence and I would like to think that the color choice is deliberate. If we go back to Episode 2, Takeru only has light amounts of red shading around him in his comic panels, when he kills the streamer and when Alan beats the shit out of him are two that immediately come to mind. Interacting with him does not turn the world red like interacting with Zenji or Kisaragi Station does, further strengthening Leo's conclusion about him being a Talupa and not a ghost as this red tint seems to be used for when MC is interacting with the spirit world. Which I am once again asking, how did Taiga get home from Kisaragi Station? Did he carjack a Taxi ghost?

This raises some questions about the anomaly that cursed MC. Is it a ghost and is it something unique to Japan? And if neither of those things are true then why was Haku there? I can think of two reasons for him to be there: the first is if he is there to keep an eye on Taiga for Cornelius/the Institute because Sinostra is on probation but they need him (he was specifically assigned this mission because of how aggressive he is) or it was meant to be a Hotarubi mission because it fit their criteria but Haku couldn't handle it so they arranged for Taiga to come along with him. That last thing is sort of countered by Haku saying that he doesn't think Hotarubi would be able to help with the MC's curse, but he could be lying about that I suppose.

Anyway who wants to hear my really stupid out there reason for why Haku is there-

So hear me out, what if Haku's stigma is time travel. So in this post on the subreddit donsaadali suggested that the powers you pick from in the personality test are powers the ring could give MC. I had the thought before that maybe it was a list of stigmas that the various characters had completely forgetting about the time travel line. But it does sort of fit with my line of thinking: make people follow my orders? That's Jin. Elemental powers? Towa. The others: extreme luck, never having to sleep, shapeshifting, and gravity control aren't ones that we have concrete information about but I am tempted to say that "extreme luck" could be Taiga, as turning things into ammo struck me as a quality of his artifact and not his stigma but I'm not really convinced of that. Anyway, if Haku can time travel, he could go back in time, pick up MC, and bring her back to Darkwick even if that's not what happened in the first place and Taiga was the one who brought her back the first time! But why he would do that is lost on me. Well not completely lost, I do think he wants to "help" her but with what and why is not something I have a theory on just yet.

To be clear, that was just me spitballing. I do not really think that Haku's stigma is time travel, there isn't enough evidence for me to think that. I do think that if there is a timeloop going on he is probably aware of it, but again. I don't know why.

How did you get where you are now? Job wise I mean? Were you a college student before doing this or did you go looking for jobs in the art industry straight away?

Oh, well it's been quite a journey for me in terms of how I got to where I am right now but here's the full timeline (?):

August 1996 - BIRTH

April 2007 - I watch Brave Story at Tribeca Film Festival, life is changed and I decide to purse animation

June 2014 - Graduate high school and accepted into Montserrat College of Art for Animation & Interactive Media

Summer of 2016 - Studied abroad in Japan attending Niigata School of Art & Design

Summer of 2017 - First animation job as an animation intern for Sesame Street (yes that Sesame Street)

December 2017 - Graduated from college (yes I graduated early due to having college credits in high school), did not have a job lined up

2018 to 2019 - Living back in NY with my parents, working on indie animation productions, creating emotes and animated intros for content creators, applying and getting rejected from many job listings, received and fail multiple storyboard tests, developing my own projects and story ideas after years of not being able to for school work

July 2019 - Fly to California for the first time, made the decision to move in order to further pursue a career in animation, at this time the Nickelodeon Artist Program were accepting submissions so I busted out boards for a personal project in 3 days and submitted it (please do not be like me, take your time haha)

January 2024 till now - Still boarding over at Nick and still animating on animes (I am VERY selective now about it though after JJK), I am also in therapy now Yeah so that's like, a real rough timeline over everything from school till now (and even then I am missing a lot of work details like video games and development projects due to NDAs). But pretty much what carried me was putting myself and my art out there on social media along with building relationships with people in the studios (outside of just my production) and that's how I've been able to maintain a steady work flow even when I was unemployed. Also not being afraid to develop my own ideas and share them since most of the times that gives the leadership a pretty good idea what sensibilities I have (and they just happen to match). On This Day: August 16 2019

In 2019 on this day, Sleep Token was performing a ritual on the grounds of the ArcTangent Festival located at Fernhill Farm, Compton Martin, England. Their set was 40 minutes long starting at 17:00 (5:00PM) local time on the Bixler Stage.

A full setlist is at this time unknown, but what is known is that it was heavily made up of tracks from the forthcoming album Sundowning. Here is a list of songs that there is video evidence of having been performed this night.

Kosmas Iliadis was born in 1991 in Northern Greece. While studying economics, he realised that he spent most of his time experimenting with photography.

 In 2014 he started attending seminars at 'Stereosis Photography Center' in Thessaloniki and had his first contact with analogue photography. In 2019 he graduated from 'Stereosis' and was part of the photo zine 'Logline'.

His work 'Intimate Paths' has been featured in online and print publications, and has been presented in various group and solo exhibitions and international festivals.

Su Min is an inspiring woman

In late 2020 Su Min left her unhappy marriage behind and hit the road. The 58-year-old retiree had raised her family and done her duties, and her husband, she says, was treating her badly. So she studied online videos about road trips and set off across Chinaalone in a VW hatchback with her pension and a rooftop tent.

As she travelled, Su filmed and posted videos and diaries of her journey, speaking candidly of her dissatisfying life of housework. She also marvelled at the beauty of the country she was finally exploring, and made new friends.

Su built a following of millions and regularly trended on social media, featuring in a Net-A-Porter advertisement for International Women’s Day.

As Su travelled and her fame grew, many women saw her as an accidental feminist icon, for rejecting the traditional expectations of a housewife and grandmother and taking control of her life. She shyly dismisses the moniker and says she’s not that famous, but enjoys how often she is stopped on the street, and how older women in particular have related to her story.

“As an ordinary housewife, someone who no one pays attention to on the street, to now have a lot of people see me and 

recognise me, this means there is an improvement in my life ,” Su tells the Guardian via Zoom. “I am at least acknowledged, and I think a life in which you are acknowledged is really good.”

Su had married in her early 20s. After growing up in Tibet and moving to Henan after high school she married after meeting her future husband just a few times. She says the marriage soon became unhappy, but she didn’t leave, fearing the strong social stigma around divorces.

Her husband has not spoken publicly about her trip or her accusations against him.

Change came in 2019 when Su saw an online video about someone living what has been popularised in the west as “van life”, and made a decision: when the grandchildren she was helping to care for entered kindergarten, she would leave, and she has barely looked back since.

“I met many like-minded travel pals, and fans who like me, so my life is wonderful on the road,” Su says. “I am very fulfilled, and so there is no feeling of loneliness or discomfort. On the road, my friends keep me company.”

Along her journey she upgraded the hatchback to a campervan. “I finally have my own home,” she told viewers in one post. “In the past, many things don’t belong to me in my family. There was not my name on those things. But my name is finally on this van now.”

Last month, after two years, 80,000 kilometres, 10 provinces and 200 cities, Su came home.

She returned to Henan province to spend the mid-autumn festival with her family, and to tell her husband she wanted a divorce. Su says her husband made no contact with her the entire time she was away.

The reunion, filmed and uploaded to her social media, appears awkward and hostile. In the video her husband seems to make comments about her return, saying she couldn’t survive out there any longer. One Weibo discussion hashtag about the video has been viewed more than 380m times, with streams of mostly supportive comments.

“I’m so happy for her! Su Min has changed,” said one commenter. “She can finally be free, so she is changing her fate. Go, Su Min!”

Su says she has the support of her children in seeking a divorce, and hopes her husband will grant her one. But if he doesn’t, she will just continue her travels.

“Divorce is just a piece of paper, it doesn’t have much meaning,” she says. “I won’t have a second family or seek other partners anyway, I will rely on myself … My husband did not interfere with my travelling, so if I go on the road again, he will just let me be.”

The play was written by Tom Ratcliffe who is friends with Freddy - he was at Oxford Drama School with Freddy, as well as starring in "The Wars of the Roses" (Rose Theatre) with him in 2015.

CIRCA was first performed as a sell-out research & development showing at the Old Red Lion Theatre, Islington in November 2015. After that a crowdfunding campaign was started to raise money for putting on the world premiere of the play in Amsterdam.

10 minutes of CIRCA were also performed as part of Wildcard Theatre's Christmas fundraiser December 1st 2015, with Freddy playing The First Love and Tom Ratcliffe playing The Young Man, and Jamie Jackson directing. Photographer: Ali Wright

The play ran June 21st-25th, directed by Joe Allan, performed at The VAULTS, Waterloo. As mentioned by a londontheatre1, the actors changed into dark clothes to double up as stagehands like in pic 5. As far as I can tell there's no public recordings of the play, just a very brief insta reel of applause for one of the shows.

CIRCA had another run in March 2019 - for 4 weeks this time - again at The Old Red Lion Theatre, with a smaller cast of 5: Antony Gabriel, Daniel Abelson, Jenna Fincken, Joseph Rowe, and Thomas Flynn. Maybe CIRCA will return sometime potentially but it seems unlikely it would be with Freddy again. I very much wish I could see it tbh but I'll probably have to satisfy myself buying the script sometime.

Domestic abuse soars by nearly 50 per cent after the England men’s football team win a World Cup game, according to a new study.

The research, carried out by Warwick Business School, discovered abuse and violence by partners increased by 47 per cent on the day England won a World Cup or European Championship match.

The study found domestic abuse remained higher than average on the day after a match win, with reports of cases involving alcohol 18 per cent higher than average.

Domestic abuse organisations frequently warn that while neither alcohol nor the World Cup create or excuse domestic abuse, they can exacerbate pre-existing patterns and provide perpetrators with an opportunity to ramp up mistreatment.

Researchers, whose findings were released in the journal Social Science and Medicine, analysed a decade of crime statistics from West Midlands Police stretching from 2010 to 2019. 

Anna Trendl, a researcher at Warwick Business School, said: “It is important to recognise that for victims, domestic abuse does not occur once every two or four years following a football match. It is a lived experience of constant fear. 

“However, our results provide a deeper understanding of the environments that could increase the likelihood of that manifesting itself in alcohol-related abuse. 

“These football tournaments are often characterised with high levels of optimism, expectation, and yearning for the glory of England’s victory at the 1966 World Cup.”

Dr Trendi said that meant an England win can have a substantial impact on fans’ alcohol consumption during nationwide celebrations after a match, which raises the chance of domestic abuse. 

“We found no evidence for alternative explanations, such as increased policing on match days leading to higher detection rates, or awareness campaigns before a tournament leading to higher rates of reported domestic abuse,” she added.

Researchers found the increase in reports of domestic abuse started during the three hours of an England football game, before "peaking" in the three hours afterwards.

The rise in reported incidents predominantly involved cases of violence and abuse perpetrated by a man against a woman.

Elaine Yates, chief executive of Coventry Haven Women’s Aid, said: “It is well known that incidences of abuse and violence increase when teams lose, but there are also more reported incidences when they win. 

“For many existing victims, these tournaments create a period of more intense control and fear from their partners, exacerbating an already existing problem.”

She said they were especially worried this year as the spiralling cost of living crisis was keeping victims trapped living with abusers because they can’t afford to flee.

Ms Yates: “Add to this that year on year, our organisation also sees that many women choose not to leave over the festive period ‘for the sake of their children'. All of these factors make for a perfect storm.”

It comes after The Independent reported on concerns that incidents of domestic abuse will increase during the football World Cup as fresh data showed a surge in inquiries about children enduring violence at home in the last tournament.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) issued the warning after research discovered thatcontacts about domestic abuse to its helpline soared by a third more than the monthly average during the 2018 World Cup.

I hunt for lost media as a side hobby so this is very interesting to me! It is unfortunate that public broadcast media is so often hard to find.

As well, thank you very much for all the effort you put into running this blog! I’ve followed for quite a while now and really appreciate how much time you dedicate to archiving Stefán’s life and works :)

Hello there and thank you for your interest in this! I've always had an interest in lost media and Stefán Karl has quite a lot of it for me to dig into :,)

The way I knew that the movie was avaliable online was through the Lazytown forums, one of the admins uploaded it to a forum thread and I've emailed her in late 2019 about it. It was uploaded to her Youtube channel but unfortunately because of a copyright strike in 2011 her channel was lost and she couldn't find the movie again in her files. But I never got to know where she got it from 🤔

After sometime I was able to get back to tracking down as much as I can of the movie to hopefully post onto the blog. I did the list of articles and I plan on posting a written interview which has lowres screenshots on Saturday! This is it here in case anyone wants check it before I post the translation and extract the images, the article is mostly about a different movie he was working on.

Which currently makes me believe that the best bet is to contact the creators Ólafur Jóhannesson and Ragnar Santos about it. If not I would have to look into Berlinale or any film festivals or award ceramony's that could still have it.

Making BIG SIF2 (Part 1)

If you have been following the SIF series for a while, you might have seen "Hop Hop With Everyone ♪ Big SIF" (jp. "Minna de Pyonpyon ♪ Deka Sukufesu") before. It was an attraction made by Klab for the original SIF, which appeared a few times at the SIF Festival locations and Sunshine City. And as the name implies, it's big SIF. You play as a team of nine, one for each of the nine spots, and have to tap a big button with your feet or jump on it to hit the notes on your spot:

However, it has not been seen since 2019. I guess there's a certain virus to blame, and with the original SIF kind of not existing anymore and Klab being gone, we don't really know what is happening to it.

It is now 2023. SIF 2 has released, but it is not big.

Time to fix that.

What follows is me writing along while I am working on this project. If you want to find out how this works or how you could make one yourself, read on, otherwise, the TL;DR is I have one working switch out of nine so far (the one that has a cable sticking out of it) and there's a little video of it working at the bottom of the post :)

In June 2022, I ran a little contest about trying to play SIF with things you shouldn't play SIF with, inspired by the legendary sausage/soldier game video. There were guinea pigs and dogs, apples and garlic, a tatacon and a shower head, and it was a lot of fun. In the lead-up to the contest, BIG SIF obviously came up as a related topic, along with some thoughts about how one could build it themselves. I think big buttons are just a really cool way to play games in general. Big buttons are fun. I've made a pop'n' controller setup with 5 Donkey Konga bongo controllers before so you could really slap them down, and that was neat, too.

I actually did some brainstorming about how to approach a DIY BIG SIF around that time, but I ended up never pulling the trigger to start working on it. I did remember about those plans around the start of this year though, since conventions and such were starting to come back. (Obviously ignoring D*komi, which is more of a safety hazard than a convention at this point.) Maybe BIG SIF could be something to bring to these, as a mini-event? Even if not, I can play it locally with others - and you could play it with just three people too, it doesn't need to be nine players...

I'm just making excuses, really. The truth is simply I think it looks cool and I want to try making one.

There's obviously a lot of details to deal with, but what I like to do is focus on the most important questions first. In this case, to make the project possible, I need to find out: - How do I build a foot switch? - How do I control the game with external switches?

Anything else - like how to connect everything, making things look nice or easier to use - can come later, because those parts are not vital. Those two questions are what I need to answer to make sure the project is possible in the first place. I'm obviously not the first one with the idea of making a DIY BIG SIF, obviously, so in case you want to see another - one I found was made by members of the Rikkyo University Love Live! Club (which sounds extremely cool), with some pictures shown here.

The foot switch method I ended up choosing is really simple: it works by having strips of copper tape touch. Put it on two surfaces facing each other, put an air gap between them so they don't have contact, but can bend and touch each other when there's a weight on the button. This way, you don't need to deal with any sensors, it's just a simple electric circuit. In fact, now that I am writing this down and looking at the photos again, I think that's also the method the Rikkyo club's BIG SIF used? I think I can see copper tape stuck onto what seems like acrylic plates, and some light foam between to keep them seperated when there's no weight on them. (Again, I'm not the first to have any of these ideas. Also, their controller probably works with SIF 2, too, so I'm not the first one on that, either. I just want to feel fancy and write about the setup I'm building)

Though, in order to make the entire controller thing easier to transport, I didn't want to go with a solid material like that. There was one thing I found that seemed like it would fit the bill: making switches out of shelf liner. That's what makes up the two surfaces, and anti-slip rug pads can be cut to create the air gap. That was the perfect approach: it results in an extremely flat button, the materials are light and flexible so I could just roll the switches up for transport, they're easy to clean after use, and also, I had more than enough at home that I could use for the project! I basically already had everything I needed - copper tape, shelf liner and rug pads. Of course, the fact that it keeps the project cheap is a nice bonus, but the main thing that makes me happy about it is that I really like recycling old stuff that's not in use anymore.

I went with the same tape layouting approach as the original shelf liner mat switch: each surface has the tape arranged in parallel, with one of them rotated 90 degrees so they form a grid, and the rug pad has holes in the locations where they cross over each other. The width of the copper tape I had just perfectly worked out, which was pure luck and 0% planning. There was a different problem though - my tape required a lot of soldering. The copper tape didn't have conductive adhesive, so I couldn't just stick tape on top of tape and have it connect electrically, it needed a seperate connection. If you want to make one of these yourself, get copper tape with conductive adhesive. It will save you so much work, oh god.

Doing the solder job also revealed another problem that I probably should have seen coming a mile away - the shelf liner melts in the places where I take too much time. (If you ever play on my setup, make sure to check the bottom of the switch to see how badly I messed up on the one you're using! (Actually, please don't.)) Instead of trying to get good at soldering, I just added another piece to the stack: another layer of shelf liner that is just decorative and can hide my mistakes. This one I had to purchase, but that's alright because I found some colored shelf liner that matches the three SIF attributes!! That's worth it, right!??

Some snap caps on the bottom shelf liner and the decorative top will be holding everything together, so I can take it apart again to repair or clean the switches easily after use. In general, the buttons built like this should be fairly resilient - there's nothing to break apart through excessive force, and I can replace single layers of each switch in case something does end up failing. The main thing I'm worried about is the solder joints, and how they'll hold up when I roll up the switches or otherwise transport them.

And with that, we have our first foot switch. Wow! I only did a little bit of multimeter poking to confirm it works at this point. Note that the sensitivity of the pad can also be somewhat calibrated by simply making the holes in the rug pad bigger or smaller. I think I overdid it a little - even if the switch is nice and sensitive enough to even register the smallest of tippy toe taps, it sometimes gets stuck in the pressed state for a bit when releasing after standing on it. And that's really bad, since hold notes in the game will require perfect timing on the releases as well. So, I'll probably redo that layer, and just make the holes one row smaller to have the perfect sensitivity.

Now, it's time to get the controller side of the project going, to see whether I can actually play a game with it.

The easy choice here was to simply get a board made for DIY arcade controller panels. These are meant to be easily connected to buttons and joysticks you purchase seperately, and are recognized by any device you plug them into as a normal gamepad. But in practice, they don't care about what you wire to them, as long as it acts as a button - like the floor switch I just built! I get an easy way to convert them into input, without any need to write custom code, or to deal with debouncing the signal or anything. It just works!

The next step was to connect the board to my phone. That's because another thing I want to do is run the game as intended, no modified app or emulation or anything. I just really want to not deal with all those Android emulators and any lag that could possibly cause, or in case any hosts have reservations about using emulated games (and also emulators are just a pain on Linux in the first place). But even with that as a limitation, this part was surprisingly painless! The board just connects through a USB-A to USB-C adapter, it's recognized as a generic gamepad as mentioned above, and the Key Mapper app for Android simply lets you map all of the inputs to taps on the screen. That's all that's needed!

So far, only one button is finished, but it is connected and it works - which means I can already play the most important part of the game...

One of my favourite bands (broken up since 2019) organises a festival each year. I helped out last year, and since I was one of the only volunteers and apparently a big help, I dared asking the drummer to stay in contact because of a different matter. We've been writing mails back and forth since then and then I got a mail from him, asking if I might want to volunteer this year again. It feels utterly wrong to get asked for help by one of your most admired musicians. But if I handle things correctly this might actually open a few pretty heavy doors for me (which also feels wrong, bc i didn't really do anything, it's too easy). But i try to remember something a friend once told me. "it only feels easy because YOU did it. Everyone else, looking at it from the outside is amazed by what you've done. But because you've accomplished it, you think everyone else could accomplish it too."

NEIGHBOURHOOD WEEKENDER, WARRINGTON 2023

I haven't done a music festival since 2019, it became too hard to carry my camera gear around all day and walking around. However I have always said you need to be physically fit to work at a festival, and since Sept 2021 I have been in training. So, I thought I'd give it another go before I said never again. I racked up 17 miles on my Fitbit over the two days.

It was hard and demanding on the back and legs but I made it through the two days and I'm still here to tell the tale.

Isabelle Wenzel

Isabelle Wenzel (b. 1982, Germany) studied to be a photographer/artist, but is also a trained acrobat. Usually, she sets her own body before the camera. Within the seconds that the self-timer allows her, she assumes an impossible position and continues to hold it until the camera has clicked.

The central focus of the photographs of Isabelle Wenzel is the body as a physical form, rather than people themselves. By making a photograph, she freezes a pose in time as it were, and in doing so draws attention to the sculptural qualities of the body. In order to achieve a certain image, the manoeuvres need to be carried out repeatedly. In this way, Wenzel does her own little experimental performance in front of the camera, which captures it for us in ‘frozen’ form as a photograph.

Catch NCT DREAM, WayV, KARD and ALICE live at SEEN FESTIVAL in Kuala Lumpur 2023

KUALA LUMPUR, 31st December 2022 ⁠— K-pop fans, rejoice! Get ready to see and be seen by your favourite idols at the ultimate K-pop experience this January!

Organised by CM Live, SEEN FESTIVAL in Kuala Lumpur 2023 will see a star-studded lineup featuring NCT DREAM, WayV, KARD and ALICE taking the stage at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil on Saturday, 28 January 2023 from 6:00pm onwards.

Dreams are coming true for fans of NCT DREAM as the boy group is set to perform at the festival. Made up of Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung, they debuted under SM Entertainment in 2016 with the digital single Chewing Gum and turned heads with My First and Last and other hits. NCT DREAM made K-pop history when they became the youngest group to achieve million-seller status with their first full-length album Hot Sauce.

Joining the festival lineup is WayV, which stands for “We Are Your Vision”, a boy group formed by SM Entertainment. They debuted in 2019 with the digital single album The Vision and bagged the Best New Asian Artist Award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards that same year. Following their appearance at SMTOWN Live 2022 in August this year, they made a comeback with their fourth mini album Phantom in December.

Four-member co-ed group KARD, an abbreviation of different "cards" assigned to each member – BM with the “King” card, J.seph the “Ace”, Somin the “Black Joker” and Jiwoo the “Colour Joker”, debuted in late 2016 with the single Oh NaNa and subsequently made waves with Don't Recall which gained huge popularity not only across Asia but also the Western world, denoting their star power across borders.

Also performing at the festival is the 7-member girl group ALICE which consists of Do-A, Yeonje, Yukyung, Sohee, Karin, EJ and Chaejeong who symbolise heart, wind, water, sky, forest, star and moon, respectively. ALICE made their debut in 2017 with the release of their first mini album WE, first and is known for their range of hits including Pow Pow, Summer Dream, JACKPOT, Power Of Love and DANCE ON.
