i'm not sure a fav, but i actually have a minor detail that links the two fics, this:

Something cold wraps around the back of his neck, long cool fingers wrapping around his jaw and tilting his head back to look into Conficcares eyes again.

in and everybody else smiled back is a callback to:

Hooded eyes suddenly went wide, cuffed hands trying and failing to reach upwards to claw the choking hand away from Tesoros throat. However, just a few seconds later and those hands went stiff, then slumped back on the table. Conficcare couldn't help but sneer, Tesoros self control evidently just as strong as ever, letting him fight off his survival instincts, and even leaning into both the cold hands choking and holding his face, staring up into Conficcares eyes with a fondness that made his stomach churn.

in the prologue of Rage, Rage against the dying of the light! well less of a callback and more showing a habit of Conficcares, holding people by the throat and making them look up at him is his favorite intimidation/control tactic, which can vary in softness. the gentler/playful version is one of his self soothing habits, to remind people/himself hes not helpless. Tesoro is more than fine with it and Muro just playfully snaps his teeth or turns it into a staring contest [he wins, his eyes are weird to stare at for to long]

The scent of salt and port hits her nostrils and she eagerly grabs the salami, ignoring her aching joints protests, quickly tearing off the skin and biting off a massive chunk to chew on- biting off too large of a chunk as she gags and has to hold part of the slimy processed meat in her fingers as she bites it into more manageable chunks.

i actually posted the section this was in for wip wednesday but i love the brutally on the nose Celia biting off more than she can chew. i never said i was subtle with how fucked she is<3 also i love salami im not talking about like pepperami sized shit here no im talking about gnawing on a stick the size of your wrist. mmmm salami...

Why do schools put preteen girls in tiny skirts as pe uniform?? dont get me started on how low cut the v necks were. pe uniform designers i have points to make. anyway the true meaning of these references is that girls hockey is a bloodsport more dangerous that whatever fight club shit is going on <- im only half joking shit gets brutal [and i came out on top 😁]
