So finally, Spinel confirms with Condor and 83 that she’s going to go ahead with the first mission proposal. And just as a recap; her first mission is to retrieve 83’s favourite toolset, a gift from Pink Diamond stolen from the armoury by 83’s sisters Pnicto and Britt. Spinel and Steven will head off to their new destination now, and Chapter 3 will be about their first real adventure!

And, like it says on the page – that’s all for Chapter 2!!! Thank you all SOOO much for sticking around this long!!! Chapter 2 may have been shorter than Chapter 1, but unfortunately due to delays, schoolwork and the amount of detail per page, it ended up taking way longer than Chapter 1 did… but honestly? I’m not mad about it!!! Looking back on Chapter 1 I can clearly see how my art has evolved and improved, and I’m actually very happy!!! In the end, I got there, didn’t I? And I’m so proud of the reception, the fanart and all the comments I’ve got!!!

So thank you all, this comic wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for you!!! Here’s a great big THANK YOU to all my readers!!!

There are various types of agate, including Moss Agate, Fire Agate, Blue Lace Agate, Crazy Lace Agate, Dendritic Agate, Botswana Agate, Laguna Agate, Turritella Agate, Eye Agate, Condor Agate, Enhydro Agate, and Iris Agate.

Meet my off-color Jade trio! All three come from one of Yellow Diamond's distant mining colonies, where a poorly surveyed Kindergarten produced almost solely off-color Gems that were begrudgingly made use of (out of sight, out of mind, of course).

Jadeite was intended to be an addition to Yellow Diamond's court, but her diminutive size and awkwardness in social scenarios made her an unacceptable candidate for court life. Her supervisor (Condor Agate) found that she was suitable for the kind of grunt work that Peridots would undertake, and instead put her to use that way.

Maw Sit-Sit was a more acceptable candidate to be added to Blue Diamond's court (at least in terms of height), but Condor Agate found that her... tendency for biting made that out of the question. She would spend most of her time imprisoned in a holding cell until her sharp teeth were made use of in breaking down rocks.

Pine was considered the star of the three of them, a talented pilot (regardless of her height) that would control cargo vessels for resource transfer. Despite her talent, Condor Agate was always sure to remind her that her height was a deficiency and that she could easily be replaced with a more adequate Nephrite.

The three would eventually run away in Pine's cargo vessel (accidentally taking a tiny aristocratic Gem with them that had snuck aboard while they were distracted), and having misadventures in space for a while.

[ID: Three reference sheets of Gem OCs.

The first reference sheet is of Jadeite, who is a short Gem with pale green skin and an ovular visor. Her gem is located on her chest, and is a plain, pale green cabochon. She has slightly darker pale green hair, which is in an asymmetrical triangle hair style. Her outfit is a simple, skin tight one with a turtleneck, and does not cover her arms. The image on the left of the sheet has her sitting on the ground, using one limb enhancer to look at the screen, the other limb enhancer tucked under her arm. The image on the right has her standing neutrally with all of her limb enhancers on, looking off to the side with a mildly worried expression.

The second reference sheet is of Maw Sit-Sit, who is an average-sized Gem with green skin and sharp teeth. Her gem is a cabochon, and is in place of a nose. Her hair is a darker blue-green, poofy and round, with a fringe. She is wearing a simple, short dress that stops at her mid-thigh, and is divided into two shades of green, with tights underneath. She is also barefoot. The first image is of her standing with her arms out at her sides, smiling wickedly at the viewer. The second image has her holding her Gem weapon, a spear, while standing on one foot. The third image is of her looking sullenly off to the side, with the head of a rubber chicken in her mouth and the body of the rubber chicken in her hand. The final image at the bottom of the page shows her summoning her weapon, leaning back dramatically to look at the viewer.

The third reference sheet is of Pine the Nephrite, who is a small Gem with green skin and one eye. Her gem is a striped green cabochon, and is on the back of her left hand. She has the same small aviator head cap as other Nephrites, with her pale green hair poking out of it. She is wearing a stylistic, worn body suit that is missing one leg and ends at the knee. It is mostly brown and only covering one shoulder, with a thick green belt around the waist. There is a green stripe on the edge of her top, and around the thigh of the suit that is still intact. Her boots are similar to her top, with green trim and a stripe that match. The first image is of her standing with her eye closed, smiling and making rock signs with her hands. The second image is of her holding a shiny, electric green guitar with a reverent expression, saying "This is the greatest moment of my life." The third image at the bottom of the sheet is of her from behind, holding the back of her arm to her face, mostly obscured by her hair.

Time for more of my old art - cringe but free and all that

The top three pink ones in order are: Halite (a fusion of my Rose Agate and my Rose Quartz), Rose Agate, and Rose Quartz

The middle gems are my Sunset Agate and my Serpentine fusion (between a Helidor - not pictured - and my Moss Agate).

Finally, in the last row: my Condor Agate (fusion between Rose Agate, Sunset Agate, and Moss Agate) in her fighting form, Condor Agate again in her diplomacy form, and then there’s Moss Agate.

Finals just ended and the tag is dead so I’m gonna try to remedy that with some AUs! I personally really like rocks so I’m gonna cycle through some Taleblr/Steven Universe headcanons so I have an excuse to look at rocks!!! My system goes that all rocks a feasible for anything unless given a reason otherwise… So.

Acachalla Family:

I think that story-wise, they’d probably be a group of gems who likely all came to earth independently of each other from different starting points! Papa and Gertrude might the the only ones who were alive during Rose Quartz’s time of the bunch, but they likely never fought in the Earth resistance itself… Also I’m keeping Papa’s time as a Cowboy.

Papa Acachalla — Imperial Topaz on his upper back.

Gertrude Acachalla — Pyrite on her navel.

Billy Acachalla — I’m not entirely sure but I think his gem is a little fucked up. I’m thinking a mix of Sapphire and…. Opal, but not a fusion, onnnn his leg.

Sally Acachalla — (Chipped) Condor Agate on her chest.

Spencer Acachalla — Overcooked Moissanite on his forehead.

Sue Acachalla — Pearl on the back of her hand.

The Paranormal Investigators Extraordinaire:

I think that PIE would be going around on corrupted gem-collecting duty. They’re just trying to get through the day!

Johnny Ghost / Jimmy Casket — I’m not sure about Ghost, but I think Casket should be a Bloodstone. I’m lowkey considering having Ghost be a person being “possessed” by a corrupted gem. Alternatives are Ghost being partially-corrupted Bloodstone, or a gem that was made weird and has Bloodstone inside of it. The other option is Spectrolite

Johnny Toast — Lapis Lazuli on his palm!

Fred “Spooker” Soup — Pink Morganite on his eye!

Chris Ghostie — Also considering having him be a human person who just stumbled into the gem stuff one day!

Poppy — I think it’d be interesting if she was a half-human morganite. Not like Ghost, but like Steven (RIP BB you will be missed)

Gavin Toast — Lapis Lazuli on his lower back, from the same vein as his brother.

More Details:

I included some stones who don’t appear or only appear in fusions so here’s my thoughts on those—

Both Maddie and Gertrude have a history of being sneaky, so I wanted to pick something that could be… spy-ish… so Pyrite.

I think Opals should be able to be healers since the stone is known to refract light and gems are made of light!

Condor Agate is named after a bird so I def. Want them to be able to do some bird-related stuff.

Moissanite are a lot like diamonds, so I think they’d take militaristic general or commander positions in the Diamond’s court if they appear at all… but Spencer is overcooked, so he mostly does his own thing

Bloodstone is spooky rock with blood in name woooooooo

Third section look familiar? ^^ It’s not entirely screen accurate, there were some aquamarines I took out and some red lumps I added in (and I basically redesigned the entirety of the Homeworld background AND moved everyone from the top of the legs to the bottom) so before anyone says “That’s not accurate to the show >:T” TOO BAD because the editable file deleted itself so this is all you’re getting >:)

We know that Pink Diamond led the rebellion as her alter ego, Rose Quartz. As we saw in the previous page, Condor had the suspicion that Pink was somehow involved, or did not detest the rebel efforts. And, a few thousand years later, she found out that Pink was indeed involved – she WAS Rose Quartz. For a rogue like Condor, who was loyal to both her Diamond and the love she found on Earth, this was the best possible outcome. Pink was never her enemy – it was only the other Diamonds.

And even after Era 3, they still are. But more on that later.

(Also the main room of the armoury may look slightly different… that is because I realised how plain it looks earlier in the chapter and realised it should have those star charts so YES those are supposed to be there – the mural, however, is meant to be different… but I’m not sure if I should leave it as those boring hibiscuses. Maybe the gem who paints those changes them regularly? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

(Also I think this is our first glimpse of Condor and 83's personal/non-work relationship... late Chapter 3 we'll see even more ^^)

Condor agate is a highly-prized gem and mineral specimen from the Mendoza Province of Argentina. Most specimens feature red, brown, and black banding, but colors can vary into blues, greens, and even white. A relatively new discovery, only known outside of Argentina since the early 1990s, Condor agate makes a wonderful addition to any mineral collection.
