Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen, to Stats Equalized!
The show where we equalize strength, speed, and durability to decide who would win a battle of hax, skill, and versatility.
This Month's Fighters...
Isaac Clarke vs Jacob Lee!
Conditions:
No Restrictions.
Jackb has his Final Transmission weapons
Scenario:
The illegal cargo that Jacob was smuggling to Callisto included detailed instructions on how to construct a Necromorph Marker. This results in Isaac tracking him to Black Iron prison to kill him and destroy the Marker's instructions.
Analysis: Isaac
I feel like every job becomes a lot cooler when you do them in Space. Tax Accountant... IN SPACE! Retail Worker... IN SPACE! Maintenance Engineer... IN SPACE! Sure, there's an increased chance that you might get devoured by a bloodthirsty hive mind that's hellbent on devouring all life in the galaxy, but for some unlucky space engineers, that's just an occupational hazard.
Meet Isaac Clarke, a lowly systems engineer employeed by the Concordance Extraction Corporation who gets called in to repair the "planet cracker" USG Ishimura when they send out a distress signal. Rather than, say, a broken antenna or an overloaded reactor core, the Ishimura has come down with a rather more unusual case of man eating space monsters.
Meet the Necromorphs, undead hive mind abominations intent on devouring, assimilating, or just out right killing all life that isn't them. They're none too picky with how they kill you and none too picky with what you do to them. They just don't die no matter what you do to them. Blow their heads off, cut them in half, pump them full of lead, it doesn’t matter. They will rush you down with zero hesitation regardless. And what's worse that they can get humans to do their job for them, using their "Markers" to not only organize the Necromorphs like one organize, but also corrupt the minds of humans into forming an cult around the Necromorphs, serving the Marker's whims.
Luckily for Isaac, he's a bit of a master of improvised weaponry, meaning he has all the tools he needs to clear these Markers out. Firstly, he's decked out head to toe in a fancy RIG suit. This Resource Integration Gear comes equipped with all the tools necessary to help its user survive on the job hazards, even if Space Aliens probably weren't what the makers had in mind for it. His RIG suit can vacuum seal when exposed to suboptimal breathing conditions, be that poisonous gas or the vacuum of space, forcing Isaac to rely on an internal oxygen supply. However, this supply is limited and only lasts for about a minute and a half. Furthermore, his RIG is equipped with thrusters that allow to freely fly around in zero g or low g environments like Iron Man.... IN SPACE! ...Ahem. Sorry. I'll stop.
Furthermore, his suit can come equipped with several Modules that can modify its performance and abilities. The Kinesis Module can allow him to telekinetically lift and throw heavy objects from several meters away with just the wave of his hand, while the Stasis Module temporarily slows down time for whatever object he waves his hand at, allowing him to dodge super fast projectiles, freeze enemies in place, or catch Necromorphs that are glitching through time thanks to their damages Stasis RIGs.
In terms of fire arms, Isaac has fire power to spare. His improvised plasma cutter, original designed to cut up large boulders, is equipped with a rotating blade, allowing for long horizontal and diagonal shots that are just perfect for cutting the limbs off Necromorphs. Even if you can't kill them, they can't chase you down without limbs.
The pulse rifle is a powerful motorized gun with a secondary fire the shoots bullets in a 360 degree radius, while the Disc Ripper shoots out a powerful romote control buzz saw that cuts through anything in its path, with a secondary fire that makes the spinning blades bounce all over the damn place. The torch flame thrower spews out fire that burns at 4000 degrees Celsius with a secondary fire that shoots a big napalm grenade, while the Cutter Line Gun is a more powerful Plasma Cutter that shoots out landmines with its secondary fire.
The contact beam is an energy jackhammer meant to blast apart rock that can create shockwaves across the ground to dispatch swarms. The Javelin Gun fires electric titanium spikes that can explode, the Seeker Rifle is a futuristic sniper rifle, and the Force Gun obliterates everything in front of it by firing pure kinetic energy. Finally, the Hand Cannon is a large foam sports hand that kills everything Isaac points at with it. Without exception.
Isaac in an experienced technological genius, capable of throwing together a good chunk of his weapons by himself on the spot. Hell, he's smart enough to build a Marker on his own... while under a Marker's mind control, granted, but still. You can't really hold that against him. As time gas gone on, Isaac has grown more and more resilient to the influence of Markers, capable of resisting their control and effects through sheer will power alone. This is impressive when you realize the Marker's mind control is collectively powerful to formulate one of the most dominant and wide spread religions in human history, with a mental influence that can span planets or even the entire solar system. Moreover, Isaac's suit is resilient against extreme temperatures, radiation, and acid and can pump him full of stimulants to keep him from being drugged unconscious.
One man, one lowly engineer has done what an entire army could not and, by himself, destroyed three Markers over the course of his life. Hell, those first two might as well have happened the exact same day from his perspective. Isaac Clarke, ladies and gentlemen. The man the dead fear.
Analysis: Jacob
Space. The Final Frontier. A place only fit to be explored when all other options are exhausted. When the Earth has no more life left in it and humanity has no other place to go. It is a hellish, lifeless void incapable of even carrying your screams. It is the graveyard of the universe and in no other world is this fact more apparent than the hellish world.... of PUBG.
....What's that? That got retconned? The Callisto Protocol isn't canon to PUBG anymore? Fuck. Alright, fine. In no other universe is this fact more apparent than the hellish world of The Callisto Protocol.
Humanity is struggling to survive in space after all other options have been extinguished and Earth's resources have been used up. Without the means to leave the solar system, crime and poverty are rampant across human society, forcing down on his luck space trader Jacob Lee to turn to some ethically questionable lines of work. He strikes up a deal with the United Jupiter Company to smuggle some illegal cargo to Jupiter's moon Callisto. This results in him getting hijacked by The Outer Way, a terrorist group fighting against the UJC, which then results in him crash landing on Callisto. This gets him thrown into the supermax prison Black Iron for illegal smuggling.
Thankfully, he isn't there long, as a riot begins not long after he's thrown into his cell. Unfortunately, the riot was caused by a zombie outbreak. The warden had discovered a super virus called the Biophage deep within Callisto and, believing it's adaptive properties would allow humans to better survive in space, unleashed the virus on all the inmates and ordered the security drones to kill everyone as a way of testing it. Now, Jacob must desperately fight for his survival in a prison where everyone and everything wants him dead.
Luckily, he stumbles across quite a few useful gadgets while on his way out. His armored space suit allows him survive the hellish conditions of Callisto's surface, where the temperatures can get as low as -139.2 C°. His prison shiv, crowbar, and electric stun baton allow him to pummel the infected up close, even against monsters strong enough to rip off heads, crush skulls, and rip human beings in half. Final Transmission gives him the Kinetic Hanmer, a massive hammer that can store and charge up kinetic energy to make his swings hit even harder. His Hand Cannon is a nifty side arm with an alt fire that fires explosive rounds, while his tactical pistol comes with a burst fire mode. His skunk gun shotgun fires homing rounds, his riot gun shotgun fires explosive rounds, and his assault rife fires smart bullets, advanced homing rounds that can maneuvers themselves around obstacles while tracking down their targets. And each of these guns is powerful enough to pierce the metal alloy of Black Iron's security drones, who are strong enough to effortlessly rip the titanium doors off spaceships. But Jacob's most advanced weapon is his Gravity Restraint Projector, a drvice on his arm that manipulates gravity to allow Jacob to effortlessly lift heavy objects and even people. He can throw you off a cliff or into a wall of spikes with just a wave of his hand.
His arsenal isn't entire good, though. Jacob suffers from what I like to call Gordon Freeman Syndrome, where his perfectly serviceable space suit and armor doesn't have a helmet. Only Jacob's is worse because he DID have a perfectly good helmet, he just took it off for no reason. And secondly, there's the CORE device strapped into the back of his neck. While it does monitor the health status of all prisoners at Black Iron and make him compatible with their Health Injectors, which Jacob can use to rececitate himself even while his heart is stopping, it also exists to monitor his memories. Meaning Jacob is frequently getting flashbacks and suffering from severe hallucinations as a result of his CORE device fucking with his head.
Despite all of that, Jacob is still a survivor. Even as the Biophage zombies evolved to match his tactics, Jacob powered through. Sneaking past blind zombies who had developed echo location and shooting out the weak spots of Zombies who grew hardened skin to resist his bludgeoning. For better and for worse, he's willing to do whatever he has to ensure his own safety. To the point that the breakout at Black Iron was actually his fault, as the illegal cargo he was carrying for the UJC turned out to be the Biophage pathogen. Realizing that he's indirectly killed thousands in his selfishness, Jacob works to undo the harm he's done, working with The Outer Way to reveal the Warden's corruption and ultimately giving his life to ensure the solar system knows about all that happened at Black Iron.
Throwdown Theme:
youtube
Throwdown Breakdown:
What's interesting about the dynamic of this matchup is that their advantages are flipped relative to their gameplay. The gameplay of Dead Space prioritizes keeping your distance and carving Necromorphs to bits before they get you, but here Issac's wide variety of weapons gives him an edge in close quarters combat. Jacob has no counter to something like the flamethrower up close and melee range would make it easier for Isaac to land Stasis on him for an easy win. Meanwhile, the gameplay of Callisto focuses strongly on melee combat, while here Jacob's guns give him an advantage over Clarke at a distance. Especially with homing bullets. And, of course, both have what is essentially sci-fi telekinesis.
However, Issac has a few distinct advantages here that make this his game. While Jacob's weapons are better suited to ranged combat, Issac's wider variety of weapons gives him a lot of answers to Jacob's tricks, leaving Lee struggling to adapt. The Disc Ripper and the Plasma Cutter's give Isaac a control over the environment that Jacob would struggle to adapt to, while the Pulse Rifle's secondary fire makes getting near him a death sentence. And Isaac's just plain and simply smarter and more experienced, with three games of monster killing under his belt to fall back. Jacob is determined, but Isaac's been pushed past the point of madness more than once, and most of his arsenal is stuff he's made himself. Isaac would almost certainly understand how stuff like the Kinetic Hammer works just by seeing Jacob charge it up.
Jacob is a tough bastard to kill, but against someone who's just as tough to out down, but much smarter and more versatile than he is, he can only do so much.
This Throwdown's Winner is...

Dead Space Live-Blog
Chapter: Four Five and Six
Dead Space 1 Complete Live Blog: Click Here
Part 1: Click Here Part 2+3: Click Here
My theory was correct Daina is a Unitologist:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tiedemann's crew while trying to kill Isaac killed Daina. Rest in piss you were extremely predictable.
From what I understand in the first game it turns out Isaac DID destroy the Red Marker. Isaac was later found by Tiedemann who works with the EarthGov. They took Isaac to the Sprawl where they secretly experimented on him and other patients.
The reason they experimented on them was because they can use the self-replicating signal inside Isaac’s brain as a blueprint to create more Markers.
The EarthGov wants to kill Isaac, since they’re afraid he’s going to destroy their new Marker.
Meanwhile the Church of Unitology wants Isaac so they can use him to create their own Markers.
I'll be honest I'm still confused about everything:
Tumblr media
WE'RE TEAMING UP WITH NOLAN 🎉🎉🎉!!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike Isaac, Nolan has been regaining some of his memory back and knows how to destroy the Marker!!
The Marker is making Nolan hallucinate his dead child the same way Isaac hallucinates Nicole. Except Nolan hasn’t realized it’s not real.
Tumblr media
Nolan is also hallucinating two other people. His dead wife and an individual Nolan refers to as HE.
He made them go into a dark machine (unsure if that's the Marker or something else).
Tumblr media
Here's my theory on who HE is:
Option 1: He is Nolan. The Marker is extremely cruel to those it's making hallucinate. If he can't remember the fact he killed his wife and child. It makes sense he'd see this tormentor as someone else.
Option 2: He is the head researcher who experimented on them.
Option 3: He is Isaac. I don't know how this would work, but I just think it'd be an interesting twist!
We teamed up with a woman named Ellie!!
I LOVE THIS SQUAD!!!!!
Nolan's little "No 😞" KILLED ME!!!
Nolan 🤝 Me: Being afraid of the dark.
Also I liked this moment between Ellie and Nolan:
Tumblr media
ALSO I HATE THE PACKS THEY'RE SUCH A DUMB NEW ENEMY!!!! THEY'RE NOT FUN TO KILL OR SCARY!!! THEY'RE JUST A HUGE PAIN!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
I went over all the text logs:
After the events of the first game the amount of planet cracking done was reduced. Planetcracker docks, ships services, mining supplies and tool vendors have continued to experience loss in profit. Just on the Sprawl/Titan Station unemployment grew 9.5%.
Titan Station/The Sprawl continued to make small profit (cash) from the EarthGov's scientific research and operations facilities.
Human Needs and Services Organization have been spared the brunt of the planetcracking collapse by the pick-up in traffic with Government Sector.
The CEC, Concordance Extraction Corporation, the largest solar mining and extraction company (which owned the Ishimaru) while suffering loss in profit was able to somewhat bounce back through their facility in the R&D department of the Government.
CEC's layoffs have continued and have negatively affected recruitment for the Church of Unitology.
Unitologists on the ship were aware the "rebirth" was going to happen on the Sprawl.
EarthGov has tried interfering with the Unitologsits by making Anti-Unitology campagains. Along with reducing the hours Churchs can operate, fire marshal restrictions on the size of revival events and requiring permits to distribute literature.
We also learn how scary the church is when it comes to recruiting new members:
Ranking this information from High to Low:
Desire to socially belong: Unassertiveness: Gullibility: Tolerance for ambiguity: Cultural disillusionment: Idealism: Susceptibility to trance-like states: Self-confidence: A desire for spiritual meaning: Awareness of group influence on individuals:
People were showing symptoms on the Sprawl. We know this through children hallucinating, but these were mistaken for imaginary friends.
Basically there's this big battle for power between the EarthGov and Unitologists, but they both SUCK!!!!
EarthGov took advantage of the planet cracking industry suffering to swoop in and build research facilities (to create their own Marker).

# NECROSTASIS ⋯ INDEPENDANT, SELECTIVE & MUTUALS ONLY ISAAC CLARKE OF DEAD SPACE // featuring — a look into life pre & post the USG ISHIMURA incident, mental instability, denial of loss, just wingin' it. ( self promo )
RULES, INTEREST FORM & VERSES ⬇⬇⬇
A. This blog as stated is independent, selective & reserved for mutual followers only. I won't be interacting with or responding to inboxes from people I'm not in a mutual following with, this especially applies to non-RP blogs. Any headcanons I have might differ from canon, as well as my general interpretation of Isaac, but these are the joys of RP!
B. All followers MUST be over the age of 18! Not only is this for my own comfort but also because this blog ( & the Dead Space franchise as a whole ) contains explicit material not suited for younger audiences. As such, there will be NSFW themes present on this blog including - but not limited to - violence, general blood & gore, cult like religion, human experimentation, death, mutation etc.
C. I don't use icons, I'm simply too lazy, but feel free to use icons in your replies if you wish! Similarly I also won't be making fancy banners for ask replies or threads or a separate Carrd / Google Doc.
D. Open & friendly to multiple verses & original characters provided I can see a way for our muses to interact. If you'd like to discus a plot or see a way forward that I might not, then please CHECK OUT MY INTEREST FORM! On a related note, I tend to be more active in replying to ask memes / prompts & have a heavy preference toward threads full of action rather than run of the mill casual first meetings.
E. Lastly, RP is a HOBBY we all share! Being an adult ( 28, goes by Mimi ) with a full time job + other interests, I won't always have the time, energy or motivation to be active & it's something I'm working on not feeling guilty about. Please don't expect me to be active all of the time or press me for replies!
PSA — I use the BETA EDITOR as all new blogs are now locked into using it. If you personally prefer to use the legacy editor, I won't be able to trim threads on my end.
( A little side note : the Dead Space franchise lore is deep & expansive. I never played the 3rd game, my memory of the 2nd game has been somewhat refreshed by Youtube videos & the 1st game is fresh in my mind thanks to the remake. I also have some knowledge of the events from the prequel novels & various side stories thanks to Youtube summaries, but I'm no expert! )
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
NAME — Isaac Clarke ( 47 ) OCCUPATION — Systems Engineer EMPLOYER — CEC ( Concordance Extraction Corporation ) ASSIGNED SHIP — USG Kellion SIGNIFICANT OTHER — Nicole Brennan †
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
VERSE // DEAD SPACE
— Follows Dead Space canon. Isaac is an engineer aboard the USG Kellion, responding to the broken up SOS signals from the USG Ishimura. Once on board the Ishimura, the team discover the ship has been overrun by the mutated corpses of the former crew, turning them all into deadly alien-like creatures later known as Necromorphs. It's a fight for survival for Isaac as he has to deal with fighting back, searching for his ( unbeknownst to him ) dead girlfriend & delivering a strange, delusion inducing structure known as the Marker back to the planet of Aegis VII.
VERSE // UNITOLOGIST
— Similarly following the events from canon, but with a twist! The Marker's influence is more difficult for Isaac to shake off, causing his hallucinations of Nicole to feel more real & intense as his time on the Ishimura continues. Despite swearing off the cult like religion of Unitology after seeing how it ruined his mother, being so close to the Marker & coupled with the persuasion from the fanatic survivors aboard the ship, Isaac falls deep into believing. His goal now is aligned with the Unitologists: to bring the Marker back to Earth & experience Convergence.
VERSE // NECROMORPH
— Sometime during his time on the Ishumura, an Infector got hold of Isaac & despite his best efforts at fighting the creature off, it managed to inject the infection into his blood stream. Isaac doesn't die quickly, but as he slowly succumbs to his fate, his body begins to change. Be wary of him in this state or you might just end up the same way!
VERSE // RESIDENT EVIL
— Isaac is an employee of the Umbrella Corporation, a lab engineer who typically works on the maintenance of machines & systems used in the labs to ensure effective lab operations. ( 2 + 3 ) During the outbreak in Raccoon City, Isaac is able to escape the lab but was unable to leave the city before it was too late. Not a fighter by trade, he does his best to survive the nightmares he had a hand in creating. ( 4 ) Isaac is a new transfer to the facility located nearby the Spanish village in which the game takes place in. Upon finding out about the kidnapping of the President's daughter & the connection to the village cult, Isaac works to hinder their plans from within. ( 7 + 8 ) Work in progress, check back soon!
VERSE // SILENT HILL
— After failing to get in touch his with girlfriend after she passed through the town of Silent Hill, Isaac sets off to look for her, fearing she may have gotten into an accident without anyone around to help. As he drives through the seemingly abandoned town, his car tire punctures & the vehicle swerves into a street lamp. Exiting his car with what appears to be only minor injuries, he's now forced to keep looking for Nicole on foot, equipped with only the tools he finds along the way.
VERSE // DEAD BY DAYLIGHT
— ( A twist on what I know of DS3 + rumours about what DS4 might have been ) As the Brethren Moons descend upon Earth, Isaac finds himself on limited oxygen as he manoeuvres through space around the remains of the ship he'd used to try & stop the destruction from happening. As his oxygen starts getting dangerously low, his consciousness begins to fade & when he wakes up next, he finds himself living in a whole new nightmare.
+ More verses can & may be added at a later date!

GOOD SOLVENT PROPERTIES OF ACETONITRILE TO BOOST ITS DEMAND IN THE GLOBAL MARKET
Acetonitrile is basically a chemical compound with the formula CH3CN. This is a colorless liquid and simplest organic nitrile. Acetonitrile is produced mainly as the byproduct of acrylonitrile manufacture. It is used as a polar aprotic solvent in the process of organic synthesis and in the butadiene purification. It is utilized as an extractant, dissolvable, and chemical intermediate. It is a harmful odoriferous fluid used as a solvent in elite fluid chromatography. The expanding utilization of acetonitrile in pharmaceutical and biotechnological applications has raised the interest for acetonitrile in recent years.
Acetonitrile is regarded as an outstanding solvent due to its ability to dissolve a wide variety of pharmaceutical ingredients and excellent chemical, with an acceptable environmental profile. It has, therefore, urged to be a favored solvent by process chemists. Acetonitrile is also comparatively inert due to the strong carbon-carbon bond, which can be hydrolyzed only under extreme conditions, which makes it an excellent reaction solvent. Acetonitrile is primarily used as a solvent in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, for casting & molding of plastic materials, in spinning fibers, for the extraction of fatty acids from animal & vegetable oils, in lithium batteries, and in chemical laboratories for the detection of materials such as pesticide residues. Acetonitrile is also applicable in dyeing textiles & in coating compositions as a stabilizer for the chlorinated solvents and in the production of perfume as a chemical intermediate. Increasing demand for acetonitrile from the end-use industries, including paint & coatings, pharmaceuticals, electrical & electronics, chemicals & materials, and others, has played a significant role in the global expansion and development of the market.
The major players operating in the global acetonitrile market include Anqore BV, Concord Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., Formosa Plastic Corporation, Honeywell International Inc, Imperial Chemical Corporation, Ineos AG, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Nova Molecular Technologies, Taekwang Industrial Co. Ltd. and Tedia Company and among others. These key players in the market are focused on new and improved product offerings so that it could meet out the demand for specific end-use industries in the market, which is further expected to boost this market. Also, there are various authorities and associations such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the International LabourOrganisation, or the World Health Organization working on how to minimize the harmful effects of acetonitrile on human & environment and researchers are working on how much percent of acetonitrile should be used in a particular product. Thus the supportive government initiatives are further expected to develop the global acetonitrile market.

Operation: Hostile Mergers
Tumblr media

Operation
On Wednesday (22 May 2019), the event began with the release of Update 25.0 and was set to run until 03 June. Upon logging in, a new mission was available on Jupiter, labelled "Operation: Hostile Mergers Mission 1". This update also contained the Jupiter Gas City tileset rework, and the Amalgam enemies found within.
Mechanics and Missions
The new node on Jupiter, Operation: Hostile Mergers Mission 1, was a Disruption mission on the remastered Gas City tileset. The Tenno had to complete one round of Disruption, and then were given the opportunity to extract. Upon completing the mission, a second node was unlocked on Jupiter, where the Tenno had to complete two rounds of Disruption. Completing the second mission unlocked a third mission with three rounds of Disruption. Completing the third mission unlocked a final node, labelled "Operation: Hostile Mergers Endurance", where the Tenno participated in Disruption for as long as they could.
During Disruption missions, the Tenno would drop into the Gas City and have to hack a door to proceed. Ordis and Alad V would send transmissions throughout the mission. Some of Alad V's transmissions were distinct from his usual ones, spoken in a lower tone of voice and with a darker camera view, and a camera angle high above his head. These transmissions were mostly addressed to an individual called CT, and not intended for the Tenno.
Ordis: "Ordis is detecting Sentient waveforms, Operator. Strange interlink. Splattered in Corpus crosstalk. Bypass that console so we might get a better understanding…."
Alad V: "Oh no! You've caught me! Me and my little partnership! Where's that Lotus when you need her? Now, sniff-sniff, Betrayers. See if you can find the cheese."
(upon hacking door) Ordis: "Outgoing communications cipher…. Not much of a trick for Ordis, is it? Oh, how scandalous! Alad's system has a back door! Shall we… listen in?"
Alad V (to CT): "Ah, more test subjects have arrived. Right on schedule. CT, prepare my Amalgams for further… evolution. I've baited the traps."
Ordis: "These conduits are the source of those Sentient waveforms. This may be worthwhile if we can find the key component… but it does seem a tad convenient, doesn't it?"
Beyond the door, the Tenno could find four terminals of Sentient design. Vapos Corpus enemies would begin to spawn in high numbers, accompanied by occasional Amalgams. Upon death, these Amalgams dropped keys that would activate the terminals.
(upon picking up first key, variant) Alad V: "Almost there, you clever vermin! But what to do next? Can you feel that coming rush? That cocktail of unflinching violence and pseudo-random rewards? Mm, good for business."
(upon picking up first key, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Showtime, CT. Inform our Partners another trial has begun. Prep interference routines. Bait and wait… it's time for Alad V to get back on the corporate map, yes!"
Inserting the keys into the conduit terminals would trigger a 2-minute countdown, and trigger either a boon or a hazard for the Tenno, which would last for the duration of the conduit activation. In addition, a Demolyst would spawn somewhere on the map, and immediately head towards the active conduit. This Demolyst was essentially an improved Amalgam unit that periodically pulsed a nullifier field. If it was able to reach the conduit, it would charge up for roughly 3 seconds before detonating, destroying itself and the conduit. If it was killed before it could detonate, the conduit would be considered safe and the countdown would end.
If the conduit was projecting a hazard and was destroyed, the hazard would persist for the rest of the round. If the conduit was projecting a boon and was defended, the boon would persist for the rest of the round. In all other outcomes, the condition ended once the conduit was no longer active.
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V: "In battle, advantage goes to the one most willing to die. And my Demolysts, Tenno? Well, they aren't just willing… they want it."
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V: "As a man with everything to lose, I make a point of employing the opposite. Release the Demolyst!"
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V: "Feeling a bit… out of sorts, Tenno? Noticing any… performance problems with that metal seashell of yours?"
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V: "I've taken my knocks in the past, but, Tenno, you seem a bit sluggish, a bit spent. Are you sure you want to continue?"
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V: "Disciples, remember your vows. Increase profits, and decrease… Tenno!"
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V: "Demolyst! Target the Conduit… and claim your glory!"
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V: "Demolyst! Light your fuse!
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "CT, time for a Demolyst."
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "CT… they've accessed a Conduit. [sigh] Deploy a Demolyst!"
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Conduit activated! CT, send in a Demolyst."
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "They're preoccupied! Now, CT, the Demolyst!"
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Relentless, even when they're spinning on the spit. CT, signal the supply decks. We're going to need additional 'volunteers' for conversion."
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "This has gone far enough. CT, cycle the interference routines. We need to knock these freaks down a notch."
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "CT, permute the next interference routines. They had better work this time."
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Bait followed by battery followed by bait. I'm getting bored. CT, let's salt our interference routines and dispatch the next Amalgams, yes."
(upon activating conduit, variant) Alad V (to CT): "I need to cut my losses, quick. CT, dispatch updated interference routines… and, uh… lower the room temperature, could you?"
(upon activating conduit with a boon, variant) Alad V (to CT): "What… what if we make the Tenno more of a threat… really see what these Amalgams can do?"
(upon activating conduit with a boon, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Let's flip the script, and see what these Amalgams can do."
(upon activating conduit with a boon, variant) Alad V (to CT): "CT, invert the algorithm. Give them a little false hope."
(upon activating conduit with a boon, variant) Alad V (to CT): "CT, the model is getting a bit predictable. A little morale boost might be good for conditioning, yes."
(upon activating conduit with a boon, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Let the Betrayers have a little fun while we crunch the numbers."
(upon activating conduit with a boon, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Give the Betrayers a little hope, and we'll sink the hook deeper."
(when a conduit is destroyed, variant) Alad V: "Don't be discouraged! Failure has made you what you are… a failure."
(when a conduit is destroyed, variant) Alad V: "Betrayers, frustrated yet? Get used to it."
(when a conduit is destroyed, variant) Alad V: "Will you try again? Will you give me another reason to laugh?"
(when a conduit is destroyed, variant) Alad V: "A pity… you could have used that. Hmm, but I'm bad at sharing, you know."
(when a conduit is destroyed, variant) Alad V: "This week on Nightwave: Tenno lose big, give up on life! Details at the next cycle."
(when a conduit is destroyed, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Finally. Some investments take longer to earn out."
(when a conduit is destroyed, variant) Alad V (to CT): "These disciples finally show some merit. Credit where credit is due: I am an excellent leader."
(when a conduit is destroyed, variant) Alad V (to CT): "CT, fast-track these disciples for promotion… I mean, conversion, of course."
(upon defending conduit) Ordis: "Scans indicate these conduits are connected to a massive stockpile of resources. Just how long is the Operator planning to fight for?"
(upon defending conduit) Ordis: "Operator, the stockpile of tech and resources connected to these conduits seems beyond Alad's means. Where did he get all this?"
(upon defending conduit) Alad V: "Good! Keep it up. Every single bit-stream of this carnage only makes me richer."
(upon defending conduit) Alad V: "Thank you for your generous brutality and violence! My Amalgams have never been better!"
(upon defending conduit) Alad V: "The smart move would be walk away while you still can. Consequences aren't your strong suit, are they?"
(upon defending conduit) Alad V: "Ready for more, Betrayers? I have to admire your greed! Sure! Let's go again!"
(upon defending conduit) Alad V: "Oh, are you still floating there? Like a twit tetrapod, oblivious to the rising heat."
(upon defending conduit) Alad V (to CT): "Steady… steady now, follow the plan. Trials make data, data is sold, Amalgams evolve… Tenno die. And I won't have to beg for mercy from the Partners."
(upon defending conduit) Alad V (to CT): "Useless disciples! CT, is it so hard to get good help these days? The sooner they're all Amalgams, the better."
(upon defending conduit) Alad V (to CT): "CT, rescan the comm channels. I can't shake the feeling that someone's listening in. The Board? Our Partners? I don't know."
Hidden in an out-of-the-way room could be found a datamass. This datamass could be inserted into an active conduit that was projecting a hazard in order to cancel the hazard.
(upon finding conduit failsafe) Ordis: "Some kind of failsafe? If placed in a conduit, it will cancel the running interference routines. Use it wisely, Operator; there's only one!"
After all four conduits had either been defended or destroyed, the round was completed and another round would begin shortly (unless all four terminals were destroyed, whereupon the mission promptly failed).
(during a round, variant) Alad V (to CT): "The data's good, at least. Worth more than a few trinkets to our business partners, yes."
(during a round, variant) Alad V (to CT): "CT, integrate this for the next generational cycle. We need to recoup… aggressively."
(during a round, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Unfortunately. But this is how evolution works. One generation closer to an Amalgam they just can't kill."
(during a round, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Wasteful, but failure teaches faster. Our Partners will be pleased."
(during a round, variant) Alad V (to CT): "I thought you were better than this! You're making me look bad in front of my new business associates."
(during a round, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Another weakness revealed and removed. Who knew these violent prongs would be so good at science!
(during a round, variant) Alad V (to CT): "I don't like this. Inventory as bait was a mistake. What do I do now?"
(during a round, variant) Alad V (to CT): "This is getting out of hand."
(upon completing a round) Alad V: "Take your trinkets. A small price to pay for a superior product."
(upon completing a round) Ordis: "Impressive! Ordis is just fluttering with anticipation! What will the Operator—murder—find next?"
(upon completing a round) Ordis: "Ordis thinks Alad will miss this."
(upon completing a round) Alad V (to CT): "More losses. More debt. How am I going to explain this to that… that thing?"
(upon completing a round) Ordis: "Excellent find. Might the Operator now consider returning to the warm embrace of the Orbiter?"
(upon completing a round) Ordis: "For how much longer will the Operator play along with Alad's twisted game?"
(upon completing a round) Alad V (to CT): "What did they get? This is spiralling on us. I'm hemorrhaging inventory."
(upon completing a round) Ordis: "Ordis will add this to the pile."
(upon completing a round) Ordis: "May Ordis suggest extraction? Nothing Alad has is worth your life."
(upon completing a round) Ordis: "Ordis knows the Operator has the wisdom to choose comfort and safety over material gain. Ordis… is right, is he not?"
(upon completing a round) Alad V (to CT): "CT, transfer more disciples and begin conversion at once. We're deep in the red now."
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "Is that all you're good for?"
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "Stay awhile… stay… forever!"
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "We're just getting reacquainted. Don't leave the party just yet!"
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "Smell that? Newly evolved Amalgams, fresh from the oven! Want a taste?"
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "You could have so much more…."
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "You're greedy, Tenno, very greedy. It's an inspiration to us all."
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "Don't leave, Betrayer! Think of all the science we could be doing…."
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "Impressive performance, Betrayer. But, if you don't mind, we're going to change things up."
(waiting for next round, variant) Alad V: "Keep testing me, Betrayers. And I'll keep testing you."
(when next round starts, variant) Alad V: "The next Amalgam cycle will show you what it means to be on the bleeding edge."
(when next round starts, variant) Alad V: "Destroy them, my Amalgams!"
(when next round starts, variant) Alad V: "We have unfinished business. Shall we?"
(when next round starts, variant) Alad V: "So… feeling better, Tenno? I can fix that."
(when next round starts, variant) Alad V: "Another roll, Betrayers? I think your number's bound to come up."
(when next round starts, variant) Alad V: "I told my Partners you were insatiable… but even I'm impressed!"
(when next round starts, variant) Alad V: "Let's see if that shiny Tenno luck holds."
(when next round starts, variant) Alad V: "I see. Another round? Good to see my greed wearing off on you!"
(when extracting, variant) Alad V (to CT): "It's not an ideal outcome. I just hope it's enough to appease that flying freak [sigh]."
(when extracting, variant) Alad V (to CT): "They'll be back. And my Amalgams will be waiting."
(when extracting, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Costly. CT, send combat results to our Partners, but… omit our losses.
(upon failing, variant) Alad V (to CT): "This… this is how we do it. CT, prepare the revised Amalgam routines for the next production cycle."
(upon failing, variant) Alad V (to CT): "That should keep the Partners happy. Or, at least, less… un-happy. [sigh]"
(upon failing, variant) Alad V (to CT): "Disciples performing well. Perhaps I should start a profit-sharing program? [snickers] No."
(upon failing, variant) Alad V: "Game over! You lose… but take comfort in what that means: that I win! [laughs]"
(upon failing, variant) Alad V: "You got greedy, Tenno. Best leave that to a professional."
(upon failing, variant) Alad V: "Thank you, Tenno. By your thick-headed violent demonstration, my new Partner Amalgams are ready for full production!"
Rewards
After completing the first mission, the Tenno received an inbox message from the Lotus containing an Operation: Hostile Mergers badge.
Inbox message: Success!
You went above and beyond the call of duty today, Tenno. The skill you displayed will inspire your fellow warriors.
—The Lotus
After completing the second and third missions, the Tenno received identical inbox messages containing an Operation: Hostile Mergers sigil and an Aura Forma, respectively.
If the Tenno achieved a score of 1000 on the Endurance mission, they would receive an inbox message from the Lotus containing a Spectra Vandal. If the Tenno achieved a score of 4000 on the Endurance mission, they would receive an inbox message from the Lotus containing a Glaxion Vandal. These inbox messages were identical to the messages received before. Both Endurance goals could be completed on the same run.
The founding warlord of each clan received an inbox message from Ordis with a trophy based on the clan's level of participation in the event.
Inbox message: HOSTILE MERGERS: Maximum Disruption
Operators,
[clan] inflicted maximum disruption to Alad V's Amalgam laboratory. In doing so, you robbed him of resources and strained relations with his Sentient partners.
Ordis has taken the liberty of commissioning this statue. Surely it will become the focal point of whatever room you place it in.
Your loyal Cephalon, Ordis

Enrique Carlos Alberto Mosconi (21 February 1877 – 4 June 1940) was an Argentine military engineer, who is best known as the pioneer and organizer of petroleum exploration and extraction in Argentina.[2]
Mosconi was born in Buenos Aires to Enrico Mosconi, an Italian engineer hired to build railroads, and María Juana Canavery, an Argentine of Irish descent. Enrico Mosconi founded the town of Villa Gobernador Gálvez on 26 February 1888. Enrico Mosconi wanted a medical doctor son; his mother wanted her son to follow the family military tradition of Ángel Canavery, his uncle, who had taken part in the Conquest of the Desert.
In 1903 he was transferred to the Engineering division of the Army as a military engineer, and in 1904 he received a prize for a construction project. Between 1906 and 1908 he was part of commission of Argentine graduate students sent to Europe (Italy, Belgiumand Germany) to study and acquire hydroelectric and gas power plants. He was assigned to the German Army engineering corps, and spent four years embedded in the 10th Battalion of Westphalia, while in postgraduate studies at the Artillery and Engineering Superior Technical School of Charlottenburg. In Germany he became acquainted with the ideas of Friedrich List (1789–1846), an economist whose industrialist ideas had great influence in Europe and the United States.
YPF was created by President Hipólito Yrigoyen and General Enrique Mosconi on 3 June 1922. It was the first entirely state-run oil company in the world, the second being the French Compagnie française des pétroles (CFP, French Company of Petroleum), created in 1924 by the conservative Prime Minister Raymond Poincaré.[8] YPF's creation was followed by the creation of ANCAP in Uruguay (1931), YPFB in Bolivia (1936), Pemex in Mexico (1938), ENAP in Chile (1950), and Petrobras in Brazil (1953). Mosconi served as YPF's first director.
Juan Hipólito del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Yrigoyen (12 July 1852 – 3 July 1933) was a two-time President of Argentina who served his first term from 1916 to 1922 and his second term from 1928 to 1930.
His activism became the prime impetus behind the obtainment of universal suffrage in Argentina in 1912. Known as "the father of the poor," Yrigoyen presided over a rise in the standard of living of Argentina's working class together with the passage of a number of progressive social reforms, including improvements in factory conditions, regulation of working hours, compulsory pensions, and the introduction of a universally accessible public education system.
On 16 October 1922 Mosconi was appointed by the president Alvear as Director-General of the Fiscal Petroleum Reserves (Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales, YPF), where he would stay for eight years, devoting large efforts to increase exploration and development of petroleum extraction. [6]
YPF received an initial grant of 8 million Argentine pesos by the national government, and from then on became self-sufficient, financing itself with the profits of extraction and, of course, without foreign investment or loans. In 1925 Mosconi considered the possibility of a state-private society, but in 1928 he turned back on his proposal and further stated:
"There is no other way but the monopoly of the State in a wholesale fashion, that is, in all activities of this industry: production, elaboration, transport and trade... Without an oil monopoly it is difficult... it is impossible for a State company to defeat private capital organizations."
He also remarked that, in order to defend Argentine fiscal oil reserves from the foreign companies, there was the need of "a magnificent insensitivity to all demands on the part of private interests, either in accord or not with the collective interests, but even more, what is needed is a political power capable of containing all opposing forces". Some of the nationalistic policies of Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez have been marked as a continuation of this doctrine.
The first YPF oil refinery was inaugurated in December 1925 in La Plata, and was at the time the tenth largest in the world.[11] According to Mosconi, this spawned the beginning of "the mobilization of all sort of resistance and obstacles" from the oil trusts, in particular from Standard Oil, which was one of the most influential foreign companies in Argentina, with a presence in Comodoro Rivadavia, Jujuy, and Salta.[11]
He created in 1927 the Alianza Continental (Continental Alliance) advocating economical independence for Latin American states, an association gathering mainly students and intellectuals, and focusing in particular on oil policies. Between 1927 and 1928 Mosconi toured Latin America telling and teaching the authorities about the Argentine experience with regards to fossil fuels, campaigning for an integration of efforts in the matter of petroleum as a resource. Mosconi was the major proponent of a national policy that put natural resources at the service of economic, industrial and social development of the nation. He defended nationalization of these resources, an absolute fiscal monopoly on surveyance and exploitation, the need for Latin American countries to agree on common actions in this matter, and the passing of resource-related legislation that was advantageous to the interests of the national states. During this trip, Mosconi met with Lázaro Cárdenas, who would nationalize oil in Mexico ten years later, and General Elías Plutarco.[7] The influence of these doctrines reached Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and Colombia.
Mosconi managed YPF efficiently and, while establishing a soon-to-be major oil company, starts fighting the political pressure of two giants of hydrocarbon exploitation: the British-Dutch Royal Dutch, and John D. Rockefellers' Standard Oil.
The Chamber of Deputies approved a law on 28 September 1928, establishing a state monopoly on oil.[12] The monopoly, however, was not absolute, being limited to oil exploration, exploitation and transport, but excluding selling and imports.[12] Private firms opposed themselves to the law project, refusing to pay a 10% royalty.[13] The bill was supported by President Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear but was ultimately blocked by the conservatives in the Senate.
Oil nationalization became an important theme of Yrigoyen's electoral campaign of 1928, although the Yrigoyenistas focused their criticism on Standard Oil of New Jersey, abstaining themselves from attacking British Empire interests, to which Argentina's economy was closely linked (in particular Royal Dutch Shell).[13]
Following Yrigoyen's victory in the 1928 elections, YPF, still directed by Enrique Mosconi, reduced oil prices in May 1929, leading to the cheapest petroleum in the world[13] and to an important increase in YPF's sales compared to its rival private companies, forcing them to also lower their prices.[13] Mosconi also reduced the price of kerosene and agrochemicals to contribute to the development of the interior regions of Argentina.[13] YPF produced 5.5 million barrels by 1929, and though its share of domestic output had declined to 58% (from 77% in 1923) amid a sharp rise of Esso and Royal Dutch Shell production in Chubut, the firm now covered a third of the nation's oil market. A partnership with distributor Auger & Co. signed in 1925 resulted in a network of over 700 filling stations selling 178 million liters (47 million gallons) by 1930 – an 18% market share. Company revenues in 1930 reached US$25 million.[9]
The Petroleum Institute (Instituto del Petróleo) was created on 30 December 1929, and directed by Ricardo Rojas, the rector of the University of Buenos Aires. Foreseeing conflicts with US private companies, Mosconi proposed an agreement with the Soviet state company Amtorg, which was to allow Argentina to import 250,000 tons of petroleum each year, paid by trade with leather, wool, tannin and mutton.[14] The agreement was to be made official in September 1930, along with the complete nationalization of oil resources;[14] but on 6 September 1930, Yrigoyen was deposed by a military coup headed by General José Félix Uriburu, and the project was withdrawn.
This was the first military coup since the adoption of the Argentine constitution. After the coup d'état Enrique Pérez Colman, Minister of Finance in the Yrigoyen cabinet; General Moscini, former Director of oil fields; General Baldrich and a number of Yrigoyenist deputies were under arrest by the provisional government of General Uriburu.
The new government of Uriburu adopted the most severe measures to prevent reprisals and counter-revolutionary tactics by friends of the ousted administration of ex–President Yrigoyen. The aforementioned Yrigoyenist personalities were later released. [6]
In 1929 Mosconi received Edmundo Castillo, Uruguay's Minister of Industry, and counseled him about the establishment of a national refinery and a state corporation to sell its products. This led to the creation of ANCAP (Administración Nacional de Combustibles, Alcohol y Portland), the state energy corporation created by the Uruguayan government in 1931.
In 1936, after the Chaco War, the state of Bolivia created Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) after the model of the Argentine company, and soon afterward it dictated the expropriation of the Bolivian Standard Oil Company.
In 1938 the same ideas led to the Conselho Nacional do Petróleo (CNP). That year Mosconi was awarded a medal by the Academy of Science and Art of Rio de Janeiro, in recognition for his work.
The coup was lobbied for chiefly by Standard Oil, whose interests in Salta Province and neighboring Bolivia conflicted with those of YPF.[5]The subsequent Concordance regime supported YPF, however, and its role as the nation's leading oil distillates retailer was bolstered by a 1936 agreement with the Automóvil Club Argentino (ACA) to supply a chain of ACA service stations. Oil production by YPF continued to grow, and soon eclipsed private production: from just over 5 million barrels (37% of the total) in 1934, production grew to 15 million in 1945 (67%).[9] The development of the nation's sizable natural gas resources also originated largely from YPF. Drawing from an initiative by YPF director Julio Canessa, President Juan Perón ordered that the gas flared off in YPF oil extraction should instead be captured, and sold by a state company, thus establishing the sister firm Gas del Estado ("State Gas") in 1946. The nation's first gas compressor and what at the time was the world's longest gas pipeline were completed by 1949, leading to a fifty-fold increase in natural gas production.[15] Oil production at YPF surpassed 25 million barrels (84% of the nation's total) by 1955.[9]
This gain was partly offset by a 40% drop in private-sector output, however, such that overall oil production rose by only one-third during the Peronist decade while annual consumption nearly doubled to 70 million barrels. The nation's oil supply thus shifted from 60% domestic in 1945, to 60% imported by 1954. Oil imports by 1955 rose to US$300 million, or over one fourth of total merchandise imports.[16] Perón had made economic nationalism a policy centerpiece. YPF was granted an exemption from steep oil import tariffs levied on private firms, and Article 40 of the Constitution of 1949 stipulated the nationalization of all energy and mineral resources. The deteriorating oil deficit led Perón to court foreign investment in the sector as early as 1947, however, when an oil drilling contract was signed by YPF with U.S. firm Drilexco.[17] Total exploration doubled, and significant reserves in Salta Province were developed.[18] A more controversial joint venture with Standard Oil of California was signed in 1955 for the eventual production of up to 56 million barrels a year.[17] These initiatives were opposed by much of the Army, the opposition UCR, and among others Perón's point man on national oil policy, YPF head Julio Canessa, who was dismissed. The venture ended following Perón's overthrow in September.[19]
YPF was privatized in 1993 and bought by the Spanish firm Repsol S.A. in 1999; the resulting merger produced 'Repsol YPF'. The renationalization of 51% of the firm was initiated in 2012 by President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.[6] The government of Argentina eventually agreed to pay $5 billion compensation to Repsol.[7]

Acetonitrile Market Key Players, Share, Future Perspective till 2028
Market Overview:
The global Acetonitrile Market accounted for US$ 236.18 Mn in 2018 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.1% from 2019 to 2027, to reach US$ 368.60 Mn by 2027. Acetonitrile, otherwise called methyl cyanide or ethanenitrile, is a dull, unpredictable, combustible, and lethal dissolvable. It is the least difficult natural nitrile and can be blended in with water alongside most natural solvents. It additionally shows high miscibility with liquor, CH3)2CO, and epoxy gum with no obstruction with epoxy polymerization. This colorless liquid is the simplest organic nitrile (although hydrogen cyanide is even simpler, the cyanide anion is not classed as organic) to synthesize.

Based on application, the acetonitrile market has been segmented into pharmaceuticals, analytical industry, agrochemical, extraction, and others. In 2018, the pharmaceuticals segment dominated the acetonitrile market in 2018, and it is projected to exhibit the highest CAGR in the market during the forecast period. The growth of the segment is primarily attributed to the growing use of acetonitrile in synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). It is used as a reagent, solvent or extraction solvent, and starting material for synthesizing vitamin A, vitamin B1, cortisone, carbonate drugs, and several amino acids. About 50% of acetonitrile produced is used in the production of insulin and antibiotics, including third-generation cephalosporins. It is also used in the manufacture of synthetic pharmaceuticals. The increasing demand for nutrition and antibacterial medication leads to the growth in the demand for acetonitrile in pharmaceutical applications.
The global chemical and materials industry is one of the major industries facing serious disruptions such as breaks in supply chains and disruptions in manufacturing due to lockdown and office shutdowns. Thus, the pandemic has seriously hit the global acetonitrile market.
The global acetonitrile market is a concentrated one, with a few very well-established players. Anqore BV, Concord Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., Formosa Plastic Corporation, Honeywell International Inc, Imperial Chemical Corporation, Ineos AG, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Nova Molecular Technologies, Taekwang Industrial Co. Ltd., and Tedia Company are among the major players operating in the global acetonitrile market.
