Company registration in Florida: Process for business registration in Florida & Benefits of registering a company in Florida
Introduction
One’s initial thought when deciding to do company registration in USA from India is likely to be "expansion." And whenever we discuss expansion, we tend to drift toward Florida. Florida can significantly contribute to the international expansion of your firm because of its pro-business climate, world-class infrastructure, and skilled workforce. In this article information on company registration in Florida, Benefits of registering a company in Florida, and process for business registration in Florida is mentioned.
About Company registration in Florida
There are two primary benefits to registering your Florida firm as a legitimate business entity, such as an LLC, corporation, or non-profit:
Higher credibility
Defence against personal liability in the event that your company is sued
It is critical to remember that all corporations, whether for profit or non-profit purposes, must be registered with the Division of Corporations of the Florida Department of State.
Additionally, in order to conduct business in Florida, Limited Liability Companies and Sole Proprietorships must register with the Florida Department of State.
It is crucial to note that one must finish the registration process in Florida even if they already have a corporation or an LLC outside of Florida but intend to use their corporate name there.
Process for business registration in Florida
Register a unique business name
You must make a crucial decision on the name of your new company before you register it. Although choosing a name for your new business might appear simple at first, it is actually one of the most important and difficult stages you will have to go through during the business launch process.
The name of your company should be unique and draw customers attention, but it should also stand for much more than that. It ought to make it very obvious what goods and/or services you are selling. The name of your firm introduces your brand to the public and may convey a message about your business and what it stands for. That is why it is most important to register a unique business name for your business.
Select an appropriate Business Structure
The following are the most typical legal forms for businesses:
Corporation
Partnership
Limited Liability Company (LLC)
Sole Proprietorship
Corporation
A corporation is a type of company created for people who already have or want to have shareholders. So, if you intend to go public in the future, this might be your best course of action.
Corporations, like LLCs, are required to appoint a registered agent to receive communication from the government, compliance documentation, and paperwork in the event of legal problems. Similar to an LLC, a professional service, a legal person, or an individual might serve as your registered agent.
Partnership
A general partnership is a non-formal business structure similar to a sole proprietorship created for business owners forming a partnership with at least one other person. The company can be run under the last names of you and your partners, or you can get a DBA (Doing Business As) name.
There is no personal asset protection; the gains and losses would be reported on your (and your partners’) individual tax return. All partnerships in the state of Florida are required to submit formal papers to the state along with a filing fee.
Limited Liability Company (LLC)
A Limited Liability Company (LLC) could be the ideal option for you if going public is not something you intend to do in the near future. It provides additional flexibility and safeguards your private assets against a lawsuit.
All Florida LLCs must appoint a registered agent to receive legal documents on their behalf. This is a requirement of the state. Your registered agent must be a Florida resident who meets the requirements or a company that is permitted to do business there. In Florida, you must also adhere to specific naming guidelines and file the Articles of Incorporation, which contain important information about your business.
Sole Proprietorship
All business arrangements differ slightly, but sole proprietorship is the clearest. This unofficial organization was created for business owners who do not intend to have any partners. It has no personal asset protection and does not need to be filed with the state.
Your company will be a sole proprietorship and run under your name. If you decide to register for a DBA in Florida, you must publish a notice of your DBA at least once a week in a publication that is distributed in the county where your firm will operate. You can only register your DBA after the notice has been made public. The fictitious name in Florida needs to be renewed every 5 years.
Register your business in Florida
Once you have chosen your formal organizational structure and registered your new company name, you should contact your state to find out the criteria for business registration. There are specific regulations for each state, and you must adhere to them.
Additionally, some companies (such as sole proprietorships and single-member LLCs without employees) are exempt from having to register and submit paperwork to the IRS in order to obtain a Tax ID Number, commonly known as an Employer Identification Number (EIN). You should think about registering even if it is not necessary for your business, because there are various legal and tax advantages.
Obtain permits and license
Certain firms must get the necessary professional or occupational licenses in Florida. For instance, in order to provide certain services for hair and nails, cosmetology shops must get permission.
Additionally, certain businesses are subject to federal government regulation and demand federal licenses and/or permits. For instance, the FDA’s standards and regulations would apply to a maker of alcoholic beverages. By visiting the Small Business Administration (SBA) website, you may find out more information about the requirements and costs for federal permits.
Benefits of registering a company in Florida
Flexible Business Laws: Business Laws in Florida are more flexible compared to any other state, and hence, it becomes easy for the Corporations and LLCs to exist in the state.
Low Tax Burden: The business owners in Florida have to bear a minimum of tax burden. Meaning thereby that In Florida one does not have to pay Personal Income Tax.
Access to Funds and Capitals: Florida is always on its toes to provide entrepreneurs willing to launch their business in Florida, with Investment Capitalists and Angel Investors.
Conclusion
The majority of business owners who want to expand their operations may discover that forming a Florida corporation is the best option. Because it is simple and easy to establish a corporation or an LLC in Florida, there are numerous opportunities for entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.

Last month, the FBI raided the homes of Scott Ritter, a former United Nations weapons inspector and critic of American foreign policy, and Dimitri Simes, a former think tank executive and an adviser to Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. In late August, The New York Times reported that these searches were part of the U.S. Justice Department’s “broad criminal investigation into Americans who have worked with Russia’s state television networks.”
In the past two weeks, U.S. officials have taken numerous measures against Russia Today and its affiliates and accelerated police actions against Russia-based individuals and entities accused of covert influence operations, including money laundering, sanctions violations, and unregistered foreign agent work. For example, the Justice Department announced the seizure of 32 Internet domains used in Russian government-directed foreign malign influence campaigns (colloquially referred to as “Doppelganger”), alleging that Russian companies used online domains to impersonate legitimate news entities and unique media brands to spread Russian government propaganda covertly, violating U.S. laws against money laundering and trademarks.
That same day, the Justice Department indicted two Russia-based employees of RT for conspiring to commit money laundering and conspiring to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act in a $10-million scheme to fund and direct a Tennessee-based company to publish and disseminate information “with hidden Russian-government messaging.” A day later, officials charged Dmitri Simes and his wife with participating in a plot to violate U.S. sanctions and launder money obtained from Russian state television.
About a week later, the U.S. State Department issued a special “alert to the world,” declaring that new information obtained over the past year reveals that Russia Today has “moved beyond being simply a media outlet” and has become “an entity with cyber capabilities” that’s “also engaged in information operations, covert influence, and military procurement.” Washington claims that the Russian government embedded within RT in Spring 2023 an entity “with cyber operational capabilities and ties to Russian intelligence.” Based on these allegations, Meta — the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp — soon announced that it had banned Russia Today and its affiliates from all its platforms.
A day before that big announcement from the State Department, a jury in Tampa, Florida, convicted four American citizens of conspiracy to act as agents of the Russian government. Case evidence first reported by RFE/RL shows that the activists on trial secretly coordinated their activities and received funding from “Anti-Globalization Movement” head Alexander Ionov, who acted on orders from Russia’s Federal Security Service.
To discuss this recent explosion of American police and diplomatic activity targeting RT and Russian covert influence operations in the U.S., The Naked Pravda spoke to RFE/RL journalist Mike Eckel, who coauthored the September 6 report on how Ionov and his FSB handlers “chatted and plotted to sow discord in the United States.”
Timestamps for this episode:
(5:54) The U.S. government’s coordinated campaign against Russian covert influence operations
(7:18) Legal strategies when prosecuting Moscow’s malign activities
(8:37) Alexander Ionov and the FSB
(15:11) American activists and Russian covert operations

A Republican in Florida's Legislature has filed a bill that, if enacted, would eliminate the Florida Democratic Party.
“The Ultimate Cancel Act,” filed Tuesday by state Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, would require the state’s Division of Elections to “immediately cancel” the filings of any political party whose platform had “previously advocated for, or been in support of, slavery or involuntary servitude.”
The bill, called SB 1248, would require Florida officials to notify all registered voters who belong to any canceled parties that their parties no longer exist. It would also change their voter registrations to “no party affiliation” and “provide procedures” for those voters to update their affiliations to “an active political party.”
The bill would allow any canceled political parties to re-register with the Florida State Department — but only under the condition that the party change its name to something “substantially different from the name of any other party previously registered” with the agency.
The proposed legislation doesn’t explicitly mention the Democratic Party. But the party, throughout much of the early and mid-1800s, supported slavery. Southern Democrats in particular supported protecting slavery in the U.S. and opposed civil rights reforms for decades after the Civil War. The party underwent a major realignment in the 19th century, and support for such policies has been absent from its platform or general discourse for many years.
Florida Democrats said the intention of the bill was abundantly clear.
“Presenting a bill that would disenfranchise 5 million voters is both unconstitutional and unserious. Under Ron DeSantis, Senator Ingoglia is using his office to push bills that are nothing more than publicity stunts instead of focusing on the issues that matter most to Floridians,” the Florida Democratic Party said in a statement.
Florida Republicans hold a supermajority in the Legislature. Its legislative sessions kick off Tuesday.
Ingoglia suggested in a news release that his bill was designed to get back at Democrats and “leftist activists” who he said had “been trying to ‘cancel’ people and companies for things they have said or done in the past,” including “the removal of statues and memorials, and the renaming of buildings.”
“Using this standard, it would be hypocritical not to cancel the Democrat Party itself for the same reason,” Ingoglia said. “Some people want to have ‘uncomfortable conversations’ about certain subjects. Let’s have those conversations.”
Ingoglia noted that the Democratic Party had “adopted pro-slavery positions into their platforms” at its national conventions in 1840, 1844, 1856, 1860 and 1864.
In a series of tweets Tuesday, Ingoglia, who previously was the chairman of the Florida GOP, had also indicated his bill was designed to target Democrats.
In a tweet at Nikki Fried, Florida’s former state agriculture commissioner, who was elected over the weekend as the new chair of the state Democratic Party, Ingoglia wrote that “Florida Dems should be thankful I’m not asking them to return all the money they’ve raised previously from their Jefferson/Jackson Dinners.”
Tumblr media
The tweet was a reference to a name Democrats used for years as a label for annual fundraising dinners that were named to honor Presidents Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson, who both owned slaves.
Many Democratic organizations have changed the names of the dinners in recent years.

Matt Shuham at HuffPost:
The founder of the conspiracy theory website Gateway Pundit said Wednesday that the company was declaring bankruptcy while it fights ongoing defamation lawsuits.
Jim Hoft, the site’s founder, said in a post that Gateway Pundit’s parent company, TGP Communications, had decided to seek Chapter 11 bankruptcy protections in the Southern District of Florida “as a result of the progressive liberal lawfare attacks against our media outlet.” Hoft stressed the move was “not an admission of fault or culpability” and said the site would continue publishing. Gateway Pundit did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment. For two decades, the site has published falsehoods and conspiracy theories on everything from vaccines to election fraud. Donald Trump frequently shares its material. The most notable lawsuit against the website is from Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. In 2021, they sued the Gateway Pundit, Hoft and his twin brother, and website contributor Joe Hoft in St. Louis Circuit Court for defamation and emotional distress. The website had falsely alleged that the mother-daughter pair had purposefully manipulated the vote count in Joe Biden’s favor.
[...] Gateway Pundit, despite its often-untethered coverage, has played an outsize role in the conservative mediasphere ― though its traffic peaked in 2020. Multiple Republican-led states pulled out of a popular anti-voter-fraud organization after the site falsely reported that it was “founded” by George Soros and was a “essentially a left wing voter registration drive disguised as voter roll clean up.”
Far-right pro-Trump conspiracist disinformation website The Gateway Pundit declares bankruptcy. The Gateway Pundit is founded by right-wing propagandist Jim Hoft.

December 2023 PHILLIPS NY auction Rolex Space Dweller Although the Rolex "Space Dweller" never made it into space , it's a wonderful wrist watch with an interesting history. Here's the story how it might have originated:
In May 1963, as NASA started recruitment for the Group III astronauts, Mercury astronaut Leroy Cooper made the last solo spaceflight mission of the Mercury program. Onboard “Faith 7” Cooper orbited the Earth 22 times before a pinpoint splash-down near recovery ship USS Kearsarge in the North Pacific Ocean. During this 34 hours long mission, NASA astronaut LtCol John Glenn was stationed aboard the Pacific radio telemetry tracking ship “Coastal Sentry” off the coast of Kyushu - Japan. Between May 10 and 16, John Glenn, the first US astronaut to orbit the Earth, acted as CapCom (Capsule Communicator) with the Project Mercury communication center at Cape Canaveral in Florida. After the mission, John Glenn and his family spent a 13 days vacation visiting Japanese industrial, historic and cultural sites. Glenn’s goodwill tour brought him to Tokyo, discussing space achievements with science writers, and Nihon university where he received an honorary degree. The Japanese youth met him with great enthusiasm as Glenn’s candidness and openness boosted the US image in Japan. This goodwill tour did not go unnoticed to Rolex, as the Swiss company wanted to release a watch in tribute to the spacefarers as Rolex had commemorated legendary explorations to the summit of Mount Everest and the Arctic. In response to the Japanese fascination with astronauts and spaceflight related science fiction, Rolex launched a small production run of the “Space Dweller”, for which the Swiss patent was registered on February 16, 1966 followed by a US patent office registration on November 19, 1968. Basically, the “Space Dweller” was launched in 1967 as a modified version of their Explorer 1016 model. However, it looks like this model remained a Japan-only special edition as it was not released into Rolex’s complete world market. In 2008, Sotheby’s auctioned a set of 4 separate “Space Dweller” dials which more than probably ended up in 1016 cases as case production dates range between 1963 and 1968. If you were offered the same job, like hotel registration in general, but as far away from Florida as possible, would you take it?
If by "as far away" you mean "on Earth," then no, because I rather like living on land instead of at sea 1000 miles off the coast of Perth, Australia.
Tumblr media
Honest answer, maybe. I don't think I could ever work for a big chain, because I hate company culture so fucking much. I have a lot of freedom at the little Mom and Pop motel I work at now, and I'd have to give that up if I got a job at a Marriott or Holiday Inn. The job itself is easy, it's just the clientele I hate with a burnimg passion; check out my tag "all tourists are bastards" for the greatest hits.
My boss doesn't care what I do or say as long as I get the job done. No uniform, no fake smile, no manager breathing down my neck. She understands that the customer is often wrong, and doesn't take shit from anyone. If someone complains about something beyond our control, she takes my side and tells them to suck it up or leave.
The absolute greatest part about my current job is that I'm not expected to do anything between customers. Sure, every now and then my boss will give me chores, but that only happens as they're needed
If FedEx drops off a package for a customer, I walk it to their room
If a customer smears their sweaty hands all over the office door, I clean it
If the brochure display runs low, I fill it
But that's all just part of the job. My boss never just finds shit for me to do to fill time. If there's nothing to do, I can go on my phone or read a book or draw, and she doesn't care. I have plenty of downtime, and it does wonders for my mental health. No other hotel on Earth would allow me such a privilege because most front desks are in a public communal area where I'd have to put on my Customer Service Face™ at all times, while the office door at my current job is locked 24/7 with a big neon PLEASE RING DOORBELL FOR SERVICE sign hung up at eye level. I don't have to stand all day, I only have to get up when they buzz so I can open the door for them from the inside. There's no stool at the desk, I stand for every customer, but once they leave I can go to the back room and sit in a recliner (though I'm not allowed to recline it; still comfy)
No Best Western manager would ever let me cuss out a customer who started shit. My boss lets me defend myself, and I appreciate that more than anything. Customers are liars, and she knows it. I love, love, LOVE when they start arguing with me and ask to speak with my manager, only for her to tell them exactly what I did, verbatim. Hell, it's gotten to the point that I offer to get her involved from the start, "oh, you don't like what I telling you? Do you want to speak with my boss, the owner?" We don't need their business, this place has been a community cornerstone for decades, no amount of entitled asshole reviews will ever tank it.
If I could find a nice Mom and Pop place somewhere up north, and if I could establish a mutually respectful relationship with the owner, I'd take the job in a heartbeat, but every time I google a state I want to move to I get met with dozens of horror stories telling me that it's not all it's cracked up to be. Everyone hates where they live, that's a given, but to someone living in Weimar Germany (almost Nazi), those places look like paradise in comparison. Oregon, Washington state, Vermont, Massachusetts, they seem like beacons of hope to lil ole naive me. Ideally I want to move to New Zealand, but that's beyond my budget (and probably always will be). Nowhere is safe from crazy, but some places are more tolerable.

Whether it's a minor fender bender or a devastating fatal accident that unfolded on the roads of Boca Raton or West Palm Beach today, the impact of any car accident can be profound.
Understanding the gravity of every situation, our dedicated team stands ready to provide the support and guidance you need. No matter the extent of the accident, we are here, available to listen, advise, and assist you through this challenging time.
Your call is not just a request for help; it's the first step towards securing your rights and finding a path to recovery.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IMMEDIATELY AFTER A CAR ACCIDENT IN BOCA RATON?
IMMEDIATE STEPS AFTER AN ACCIDENT
Tumblr media
Ensure Safety: First, make sure everyone involved in the accident is safe. Move vehicles out of traffic if possible without compromising safety.
Call 911: Florida law requires you to report any car accident that results in injuries, death, or significant property damage to the police. When you call 911, they will dispatch local law enforcement and emergency medical services if needed. For accidents in Boca Raton, the responding agency will likely be the Boca Raton Police Department or the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, depending on the exact location of the accident.
REPORTING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT
Boca Raton Police Department (BRPD): If the accident occurs within Boca Raton city limits, BRPD will typically take the report. You can contact them directly for non-emergency situations at their non-emergency number 561-368-6201.
Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO): For accidents occurring in areas of Palm Beach County outside Boca Raton city limits, PBSO is the responsible agency. They also have a non-emergency contact number for reporting which is 561-688-3000.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR REPORTING
Florida Statutes Section 316.066: Florida law mandates that any crash resulting in vehicle damage of $500 or more, injuries, or death must be reported to the local police department, sheriff, or Florida Highway Patrol. This report is known as a Florida Traffic Crash Report and is filed by the officer who investigates the scene.
Personal Injury Protection (PIP): Florida is a no-fault state, requiring all drivers to carry PIP insurance. Reporting your accident promptly is crucial for PIP claims, which cover medical bills and lost wages regardless of who was at fault.
Tumblr media
Are You Entitled To PIP Benefits?
AFTER REPORTING THE ACCIDENT
Exchange Information: While waiting for law enforcement, exchange names, contact information, vehicle registration, and insurance details with the other driver(s).
Document the Scene: Take photographs of the accident scene, including all vehicles involved, any visible damages, and road conditions. This documentation can be invaluable for insurance claims and potential legal actions.
Witness Information: If there are witnesses, collect their contact information. Witness statements can provide crucial third-party perspectives on the accident.
Follow Up: After the accident, you can obtain a copy of the crash report from the responding agency. This report is essential for insurance claims and legal consultations.
Consult a Lawyer: Especially in cases of injury or significant damage, consulting with a Boca Raton car accident attorney can help you navigate the complexities of insurance claims and explore potential compensation beyond what PIP insurance covers.
Navigating the aftermath of a car accident can be overwhelming. Our Boca Raton personal injury attorney Kayla Sheldrick is ready to help you with every step, from filing a claim to negotiating with insurance companies. Reach out for a free consultation to ensure your rights are safeguarded.
Tumblr media
Do I Need a Lawyer For a Minor Car Accident in Boca Raton?
Even minor car accidents can have complicated legal and insurance implications. A lawyer can help you understand your rights, file claims such as property damage or a bodily injury claim, deal with insurance adjusters, and ensure you receive fair compensation for any damages or injuries, no matter how minor they seem. Florida's no-fault insurance laws and comparative negligence rules can affect your claim, making professional legal advice invaluable.
For any car accident in or around Boca Raton, big or small, having the right legal representation is important. Call us at (561) 440-7775 to discuss your case. Our accident attorney is committed to getting you the compensation and support you deserve.

How Soon Should I See a Doctor After a Car Accident in Boca Raton?
Seeking medical attention immediately after a car accident, even if you feel fine, is crucial. Injuries like whiplash or internal bruising may not show symptoms right away. A prompt medical check-up ensures your well-being and strengthens any potential personal injury claim. Florida law allows up to 14 days to seek medical treatment to qualify for Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits, but sooner is always better.

Worthy Brief - February 14, 2023
You're chosen for a task!
Hebrews 1:8,9 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
As we continue our study of Mashiach ben Yosef, we observe that both Joseph and Yeshua (Jesus) were chosen or "anointed" for a special task. When Jacob gifted his son Joseph with a coat of many colors, lifting him up above his brothers, he reflected Joseph's calling by the Lord for a life work as a leader.
The preparation for this role was grueling. Joseph endured the fires of testing, sold into slavery, thrown into prison, and seemingly abandoned by God he must have wondered to himself, “Why is this happening?” It seems clear from hindsight that Joseph was learning the deep humility required for God's kind of leadership. We also see the humility of the Son of God in His Incarnation and crucifixion. ("My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?") So as Joseph saved the whole world from physical death by starvation, Yeshua saved the whole world from spiritual death, the judgment of sin.
If you have seen signs of your own anointing for a specific task, and find yourself in the midst of painful "unexplainable" trials and tribulations, you're in good company. God gives responsibility to people of character. Both Joseph and Yeshua are beautiful examples of the kind of leader God loves--a humble one.
Your family in the Lord with much agape love,

Online Reviews And Testimonials
Online reviews are a quick way to gauge a company's reputation. Check popular platforms like Google, Yelp, and Facebook.
Look for recent reviews. Fresh feedback shows current service quality.
Pay attention to ratings. A high rating often indicates good service.

Staff Expertise And Training
Choosing a safe moving company in Tampa requires attention to staff expertise and training. Knowledgeable staff ensures your belongings are handled properly. Skilled movers minimize damage and provide peace of mind.

Are You Required To Have Transport Tags When Shipping A Vehicle In The US?
Tumblr media
Transport tags, also called temporary tags or transit plates, are temporary license plates used when a vehicle needs to be driven from one place to another but doesn’t have permanent registration yet. These tags are usually valid for a limited period, such as 30 to 90 days, giving the owner or transporter time to complete registration with the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). They help law enforcement identify that the vehicle is legally in transit and not abandoned or stolen.
When Are Transport Tags Required?
Whether or not you need transport tags depends on how you plan to ship your car and the route it will take. Let’s look at the most common scenarios.
Driving the Vehicle Yourself or Using a Driver
If you, a friend, or a hired driver will drive the car to its destination, the vehicle must have a valid license plate. If it’s a newly purchased car that hasn’t been registered, you’ll need to get transport tags. Without them, driving the car on public roads can result in fines or impoundment by police.
Each state has its own rules for issuing transport tags. In some states, like Florida and California, you can get them from the DMV on the same day for a small fee, typically around $5 to $30.
Shipping a Vehicle on a Car Transport Truck
If your car is being shipped on a car transport truck, transport tags are usually not required. This is because the vehicle won’t be driven on public roads—it will stay on the truck throughout the journey. The trucking company takes responsibility for moving the vehicle safely, and the law typically does not require unregistered vehicles to have tags while in transit.
Car transport trucks are regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and must follow strict safety and licensing rules. The trucks are required to carry insurance, valid permits, and registration, but the vehicles they transport do not need additional tags.
Why Carriers Don’t Usually Require Transport Tags
Shipping companies prefer that customers provide registered vehicles, but it’s not mandatory in most cases. Here are a few reasons why:
Vehicles Are Not Operated on Public Roads. Since the car is loaded directly onto the transport truck and driven only on private property, it doesn’t need a license plate or transport tags.
Insurance Coverage Is Provided. The trucking company’s insurance policy usually covers damage or accidents during the trip, so a lack of tags does not increase liability.
Out-of-Service Cars Are Common. Some vehicles being shipped are inoperable or intended for repair, meaning they often lack proper registration or working plates.
It’s still good practice to let the transport company know if the vehicle is unregistered. Some companies may have specific procedures for unregistered cars, such as extra paperwork or additional fees.
Situations Where Transport Tags Might Be Needed for Shipping
While most car transport trucks don’t require tags, there are some exceptions where transport tags may be necessary:
Terminal-to-Terminal Shipping:
If you are responsible for dropping off or picking up the car from a shipping terminal, transport tags might be needed to legally drive the vehicle between the terminal and your home or the DMV.
International Shipments:
Some shipping companies require transport tags if the vehicle will be driven across borders before being loaded onto a truck or ship. This is especially true for international shipments involving Canada or Mexico.
State-Specific Rules:
Although it’s uncommon, some states might have special laws requiring transport tags if the vehicle’s final destination is within their jurisdiction. It’s always good to double-check with the carrier to avoid any surprises.
Key Statistics on Car Shipping in the US
15 million vehicles are shipped annually in the US, according to industry reports.
Most people spend $700 to $1,200 to ship a vehicle across the country, with costs varying by distance, route, and vehicle size.
Around 40% of car shipments involve vehicles that are inoperable or don’t have current registration.
The busiest months for car transport are May through September, as many people move during the summer.
How to Prepare for Vehicle Shipping
Even though transport tags are not typically required when using a car transport truck, there are still steps you can take to ensure a smooth shipping process:
Inspect Your Vehicle: Document any existing scratches or dents and take photos. This will help you if you need to file an insurance claim.
Remove Personal Items: Most carriers do not allow personal belongings inside the car during shipping for safety and insurance reasons.
Disable Alarms: If your car has an alarm system, make sure it’s turned off to avoid disruptions during transport.
Communicate with the Carrier: Inform the shipping company if the vehicle is inoperable or unregistered, so they can prepare accordingly.
In most cases, transport tags are not required when shipping a vehicle on a car transport truck. These tags are only necessary if the car will be driven on public roads before or after shipping, such as during a drop-off or pick-up from a terminal. Carriers typically handle unregistered vehicles without issue, but it’s always wise to ask your shipping company about their specific policies.

Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez – Money Laundering
According to media reports, Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez is a ‘privileged’ supplier for the Venezuelan Government.
He has been an associate of General Rodolfo Marco Torres, the former Food Minister and ex-president of Corporación de Abastecimiento y Servicios Agrícolas (Agricultural Supply and Services Corporation).
Recently, media reports have revealed several details of corrupt dealings between Tomas Benitez and Marco Torres.
Tumblr media
Marco signed numerous purchase orders for the shell companies of Tomas Benitez. He abused Hugo Chavez’s food emergency law for this purpose.
This way, Tomas didn’t have to go through any bidding process.
Hence, Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez was able to secure food purchase orders worth millions of dollars for public organizations. This included the likes of Mercal, CASA, Abastos Bicentenario, PDVAl, and others.
More Information on Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez:
Tomas claims to be the director of Afcom Corp, Dexton, Oil Gas Technology Inc, Alox International LLC, Domar Trading SS, Gestamer SA, Total Web Services, and Latin Investors.
The leaked Panama papers reveal six additional companies under the name of his partner, Ricardo Rojas Urbina.
Carlos Tablante and Marcos Tarre’s book El Gran Saqueo revealed that Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez acted as an intermediary for the purchase of meat from Brazil to Venezuela.
Again, media reports revealed that Marco Torres had signed purchase order no. DCL – 56-6/2008. He was the CASA president at the time.
Here, the order authorized the purchase of 15,000 tons of meat at $4,740 to Domar Trading CA. Note that Domar Trading CA is a company of Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez.
This company is registered in Panama but is based in Miami. Additionally, Domar Trading CA acted as an intermediary as the meat was originally from Brazil.
Moreover, this deal took place when Tomas Elias was facing a lawsuit against Bariven in Florida, US.
There, the lawsuit was for breaching a 5 million contract for purchasing meat, sugar, and chicken from a Brazilian company.
He had purchased Dexton Validsa, Inc, another shell company of Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez.
Using Shell Companies for Money Laundering
Tumblr media
According to the media, there was a dispute between officials of Bariven and PDVSA and they decided to leave Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez aside.
These officials included Luis Hernandez, Juan Carlos Chourio, and George Kabboul.
Together, they decided to cut out their share of Tomas and complete the deal by themselves. This included $11.5 million in markups.
Moreover, they were going to buy directly from West Meat, the actual Brazilian supplier. However, Cuban government officials were also involved.
Hence, PDVSA had to pay Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez $100 million as compensation.
Additional Corrupt Dealings of Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez
In 2012, PDVSA was in charge of buying materials and equipment through Liaoning Northern Steel Pipes Co., LTD, a Chinese company.
However, it was not a Chinese company at all.
Instead, it was a company founded by Joseph Benoudiz and Pablo Cadenas in Texas, US. They were trying to hide the identity of the actual Asian supplier.
This deal involved over $56 million.
Diario Las Americas revealed that Benoudiz and Cardenas were among the owners of over 40 companies with the same addresses, directors, and telephone numbers.
However, all of these companies had registrations in different jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Panama, Venezuela, Singapore, New Zealand, and the United States.
Among these companies, Alox International LLC and Dexton stand out the most.
Tomas Elias Gonzales Benitez is a board member in both of them.
Conclusion
Tomas Elias Gonzalez Benitez is a prominent player in the corrupt dealings of the Venezuelan government.
He has multiple shell companies and takes part in global money laundering operations.
There are plenty of examples where high-level businessmen and government officials start using their position to indulge in corruption.
For example, Dan DiMicco is notorious for abusing his power during the Trump presidency to harm his competitors. Similarly, Thomas Flohr has gained notoriety for helping an African criminal save his millions.
