Reasons To Start Your Own Business In The UAE
Why Choose Dubai As An Investment Location?
The Dubai economy enjoys a competitive combination of cost, market and environmental advantages that create an ideal and attractive investment climate for local and expatriate businesses alike. In fact, these advantages not only rank Dubai as the Arabian Gulf’s leading multi-purpose business center and regional hub city, but they place it at the forefront of the globe’s, dynamic and emerging market economies. Dubai, with its ancient commercial and seafaring traditions, has long been recognized as the Middle East region’s leading trading hub and has emerged as its key re-export center. In more recent years, the Emirate has become a major venue for a number of growing, profitable industries and activities .
Political And Economic Stability: Dubai is part of the UAE which is a low-crime and politically-stable country. Also, the UAE enjoys financial and monetary stability. Its well-developed, sophisticated banking system features ,extensive credit facilities and ample liquidity. The Emirate’s emerging capital markets are built on a basis of leading-edge technologies and sound regulatory systems. The government has a long, consistent commitment to pro-business, liberal economic policies including the protection of intellectual property rights. The UAE benefits from stable and harmonious industrial relations. Finally, there is a well defined, sound legal framework for business and a clear set of ownership rules. Foreigners are permitted ownership rights of up to 49% for limited liability companies established within the Emirate of Dubai and up to 100% for professional companies, branches and representative offices of foreign companies and free zones enterprises. All of these factors reflect positively in Dubai’s being assigned an investment grade rating for fixed income investment by Moody’s Investors Service.
Large, available workforce
One of the biggest struggles when starting up any new enterprise is finding the right people to work with. Dubai wins again. Its liberal and cost-effective labour laws, along with its desirable working location, make it both easy and – perhaps most importantly – rather affordable, to recruit employees from almost anywhere in the world. The ease at which expatriate workers – who make up a staggering 90% of the city’s labour force – can enter and exit the UAE also makes it easier for businesses .
Ease of starting your own business
New markets, new consumers, the rise of Internet technology – Dubai is a land of booming opportunities.
A recent survey by HSBC revealed that Dubai is ranked second-best city in the world after Singapore for expats looking to start a business. The survey highlights that the UAE’s entrepreneurial environment, job prospects and better salaries as primary factors attracting expats from across the world.
“Despite the volatility in the global economy and insecurity in job markets, the UAE’s diverse business landscape and its position as a hub in the Middle East means that it continues to be an attractive destination for expats from across the world,” .
No Taxation.
The UAE’s economy in general is considered to be the most liberal and most diversified in the region. Dubai applies NO TAXATION policy for almost all types of business activities with exception of branches of international banks, hotels and major oil and gas companies. The following taxes are NOT applied in Dubai:
Personal income tax;
Capital gains tax;
Value-added tax;
Withholding tax;
Corporate tax.
Dubai Free Zones.
Free Zone is a designated tax-free area, where foreigners can set up and do business in Dubai with full ownership and without partnering with a local emirati partner or agent. All Free Zones vary from one to another and offer licenses in various sectors. For example, there is a Free Zone for healthcare providers (Dubai Healthcare City or DHCC); there is a Free Zone for educational and training institutions (Dubai Knowledge Village); there is a Free Zone for media companies (Dubai Media City), there is a Free Zone for financial institutions and services providers (Dubai International Financial Center or DIFC) and many others. There are more than 20 Free Zones currently operating in Dubai itself.
Residency Visa.
If you have a company in Dubai and in other Emirates of the UAE in general, you will be eligible to get a UAE Residency Visa for yourself, your family members and for your expatriate employees. Having a UAE Residency Visa will give many benefits such as:
you can open a current account in UAE Banks
you can lease an apartment for long-term basis
you can enter/exit to/from UAE multiple times
you can get visas for other countries more easily as a resident in the UAE.

The Chase Files Daily Newscap 4/2/2018
Good Morning #realdreamchasers! Here is The Chase Files Daily News Cap for Monday 2ndApril 2018. Remember that you can read full articles via subscribing to Nation News Online, purchasing a Daily Nation Newspaper (DN) or via Barbados Today (BT).
AIRPORT FULL ON EASTER SUNDAY – First-time visitors and regulars had the arrivals hall of the Grantley Adams International airport looking like it was Christmas or Crop Over. With flights from Canada and the United States, red caps and customs officials were kept busy as aircraft after aircraft landed on the tarmac from 2 p.m. Newlywed couple, the Taylors, said they didn’t know anything about the island of Barbados but decided to use it for their honeymoon. The Howards, party of four, also said it was their first time and used the Easter break to have some family time. Executive cars from Sandy Lane and Royal Westmoreland were seen picking up guests as taxi operators weren’t given time to queue as passengers hurriedly packed into them. The five rental car companies stationed at the airport had long lines also. (DN)
FATAL CRASH AFTER CRUISE – Marva Atkins gave her son the stamp of approval he needed on his outfit before he set out for a night of partying on the high seas on Saturday. It was the last time she would see Carson, the second of her three children, alive. The 40-year-old, of Foster Hall Land, St John, met his untimely death just shy of an hour after the 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. cruise ended. He was on his way home as the front passenger seat in a car driven by 29-year-old Christopher Skeete of the same district. That car was involved in a collision along Four Roads, St John, with another driven by Kera Deane, 34, of Todds Development, St George. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and the drivers were taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Atkins, who appeared not to have come to grips with the tragedy as yet, was in her son’s house, which was next door to her own. She and some other family members were cleaning up the first floor where Carson, who was also known as “Yak”, operated his ital food business on Saturdays and from where he sold the produce he grew, when the DAILY NATION team visited. “I can’t explain how I feel right now. That’s why I’m keeping busy and not sitting down. I suppose it would hit home to me later on, how I really feel. I feel bad,” she said. She described her son as a no-nonsense, outgoing, friendly person, hard-working and a bit of a dresser. She added he also served as a mentor for several of the youngsters in the area and helped to keep them on the right path. “Carson liked to work in the ground; he liked to work the land. He was also an outgoing party boy. They tell me Thursday he was at karaoke and they had a really good time with him,” Atkins said. Her eldest son Sherwin Hope accompanied her to the scene around 3:30 a.m. yesterday but was not with the family at the time. She said her daughter Alison “was not doing too well” since receiving the terrible news and was lying down. “He was by us last night [Saturday] before he went off, for us to see how he had looked. He liked to make sure he looked [good]. He was good, that’s why he took the picture;” she said with a smile. Atkins was awoken by a call from a neighbour informing her Carson was in a bad accident. Not knowing the extent of his injuries, she made her way to the scene, but he had passed on by that time. She was grateful for the care given by the members of the Royal Barbados Police Force, who tried their best to make sure he was “fixed up”, before she saw him. Carson’s uncle, Joseph Hope, said people at the scene spoke of the influence the father of a teenaged boy had on the youths. “After the accident, we heard people from the area saying how the fellas looked up to him. Saying how he tried to keep them on the straight and narrow way, so to speak. And how he mentored them and tried to instil in them not to cause any bad things to happen in the district. I practically raised him, so I would know about his upbringing. A decent child he was; courteous. We got along very well and I think he used to get along well with everybody around here,” he said. Last Sunday, 44-year-old Paula Corbin, of Park Road, Bush Hall, St Michael, succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident on the ABC Highway, near Coverley, Christ Church. (DN)
MOTORCYCLIST IS DAY’S SECOND ROAD FATALITY - Police are carrying out extensive investigations into a fatal road accident which occurred about 4:45 p.m. today along 1st avenue Rockley, Christ Church. Dead is motorcyclist Anthony Junior Stuart, 28, of Bynoe Road, Worthing's View, Christ Church. Stuart was riding his motorcycle along the road when he lost control and collided with a utility pole. He fell off the motorcycle and died on the spot. The motorcycle was taken from the scene prior to the arrival of the Police. Anyone who may have witnessed this accident or who may have knowledge as to its occurrence and subsequent whereabouts of the motorcycle involved, are asked to contact the Hastings Police Station at 430-7612, Police Emergency at 211 or any Police Station. Information will be taken under strict confidentiality. (DN)
TWO APARTMENTS DESTROYED BY FIRE - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire of unknown origin, which occurred sometime after 7:30 this morning. A wood and wall, four-apartment building at Cane Vale, Christ Church was extensively damaged in the blaze. Two of the apartments, one occupied by Roger and Jennifer Marshall and the other by Mellissa Macfarlane, were completely destroyed. Another apartment occupied by Olivia Broome and Sylvan Brathwaite sustained water damage. The fourth apartment was not damaged. The occupants of one apartment were outside when smoke was seen coming from the building, and it quickly engulfed the apartment. Two fire tenders and ten fire officers responded to the blaze. The property is owned Carmelita Jarvis of #18 Upper Carters Gap, Christ Church. Investigations into this matter are continuing. Anyone who can provide information to assist with these investigations is asked to contact the Oistins Police Station at telephone 418-2612. All information received will be strictly confidential. (DN)
TENANTS LOSE HOME TO BLAZE – Four people are pondering their next move today after fire engulfed their apartments, leaving them homeless yesterday morning. It occurred just after 7:30 a.m. at a wood and wall building in Cane Vale, Christ Church, owned by Carmelita Jarvis of No. 18, Upper Carters Gap, Christ Church. The apartment, which tenant Melissa McFarlane and 11-year-old daughter Roshana Manning rented, was gutted, as was that of Roger Marshall and wife Jennifer. McFarlane, who was looking at what was salvageable after the flames were put out, told the DAILY NATION she received the call while at church. “I don’t have nobody to stay with. I’m a nomad,” the Jamaican woman said. The Marshalls, who have lived there for about ten years, were also looking for a place to stay. “She might have been able to get something, but I ain’t get nothing. This is wrong, so wrong,” Jennifer lamented. Fortunately for Steve Newton, the apartment he occupied was not damaged and the one where Olivia Broome and Sylvan Brathwaite lived only received water damage. Police say Marshall was engaged in a chore when he noticed smoke. When he went to investigate, he saw the billowing smoke which quickly engulfed the apartment. Two fire tenders and ten officers responded. Police said investigations were continuing. (DN)
FEEBLE WINDIES CRASH TO HISTORIC LOW IN HEAVY DEFEAT – West Indies were dismissed for their lowest-ever total in Twenty20 Internationals in a crushing 143-run defeat to Pakistan – the second heaviest loss in T20 history – as the tourists lack of preparation and inexperience was laid bare here Sunday. Tasked with chasing an imposing 204 in the first match of a bilateral series on Pakistani soil in nine years, the Caribbean side were embarrassingly bundled out for 60 in the 14th over, marking their only third score under three figures in the shortest format. They were slumping at 15 for four in the fifth over and never found a saviour as only Marlon Samuels, of the top six, managed to reach double figures with a top score of 18. The innings was rattled by the new ball pair of seamer Mohammed Amir (2-3) and left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz (2-19), while part-time off-spinner Shoaib Malik (2-13) helped polished off the Windies feeble effort. Sent in earlier at the National Stadium in a match played under presidential-style security, the home side piled up an imposing 203 for five off their 20 overs, with debutant Hussain Talat top-scoring with 41 and opener Fakhar Zaman getting 39. Captain Sarfraz Ahmed weighed in with 38 while veteran Shoaib arrived late on to stroke an exciting unbeaten 37. West Indies, who arrived late Saturday via Dubai and had no practice session, were on the backfoot from early when Fakhar and Babar Azam (17) posted a lively 46 from 30 balls for the first wicket. Seamer Rayad Emrit, in only his second T20I after making his debut last December, broke the stand when he trapped Azam lbw with a full length delivery on leg stump. Thirteen balls later, Fakhar, who lashed six fours and a six off 24 deliveries, was run out after backing up too far at the non-striker’s end, leaving Pakistan on 65 for two in the eighth. However, Talat and Sarfraz then combined to dent the Windies hopes of slowing the scoring, adding 75 for the third wicket off a mere 49 balls. The 22-year-old Talat faced 37 balls and counted two fours and a six while Sarfraz punched four fours and a six in a 22-ball knock. Talat’s demise in the 16th over saw three wickets tumble for 17 runs in the space of 11 deliveries but Shoaib once again proved his weight in gold, smashing four fours and a pair of sixes in an exhilarating 14-ball cameo, as Pakistan got 47 off 17 balls in an unbroken fourth wicket stand involving Faheem Ashraf (16 not out). The Windies innings began with the same tone set by their bowlers. Chadwick Walton blasted the first delivery from Nawaz over the ropes at square leg but then skied the fourth ball to long-off without adding to the total. Amir then snatched two key wickets in the second over as both Andre Fletcher and captain Jason Mohammed drove to Talat at cover in the space of three deliveries to depart without scoring. When Denesh Ramdin, in his first match for West Indies in 18 months, whipped pacer Hasan Ali off his pads to Nawaz at mid-wicket also without scoring, the innings was descending into free fall. Rovman Powell (5) tugged a return catch to leg-spinner Shadab Khan in the seventh over and veteran Marlon Samuels, who looked the most promising of the lot with three boundaries in a 19-ball 18, skied one from Nawaz to point at the end of the eighth over, to leave the innings in dire straits. Emrit (11) and Keemo Paul (10 not out) held up the inevitable in an 18-run stand – the best of the innings – before Shoaib triggered the final slide. The second match is scheduled for the same venue on Monday. (DN)
TWO MORE MEDALS FOR BARBADOS – Barbados didn't fare well in the evening session on the second day of the 47th Flow CARIFTA Games at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium here Sunday night. The Barbadian athletes gained just one silver and a bronze medal to push their overall medal tally to six − one gold, two silver and three bronze. Kyle Gale got a silver in the Under-17 Boys' 400 metres hurdles with a time of 54.45 seconds as he pipped Bahamian Raymond Oriaki (54.54) on the line to finish behind Jamaican gold medal winner Devonte Archer (52.85). Barbados also captured a late bronze medal through the Under-20 Boys' 4x100 metres relay quartet of Nathan Ferguson, Antoni Hoyte-Small, Matthew Clarke and anchor Kuron Griffith. They clocked 40.43 seconds to just hold off host country, Bahamas as Jamaica (39.56) and Trinidad and Tobago (40.29) gain gold and silver. It represented a clean sweep of all four 4x100 relays for Jamaica. Despite the completion of the relays, the Under-20 Boys' javelin, featuring Barbadian Zion Hill, was still in progress. In the morning, Shanice Hutson struck gold for Barbados in the Under-17 Girls' discus with a throw of 41.56 metres. (DN
LIGHTHOUSE SHINES AGAIN IN SOUTH – Gordon’s lighthouse is once again shining brightly.The 166-year-old structure in Atlantic Shores, Christ Church, was officially reopened last Thursday to much fanfare after months of extensive work. In delivering his official remarks, Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy said its reopening would pay dividends for Barbados’ tourism sector. “East Point and North Point, while not as unique as South Point, are still unique in their own way and each have a particular story to tell,” he said of the island’s lighthouses. “And it is our belief that the story of the Barbados lighthouses is one that can be told and marketed to improve our tourism offering.” Sealy said the redevelopment of the other three lighthouses, besides the 89-foot-tall cast iron Gordon’s Lighthouse, could also serve as an opportunity to tell Barbadians about their own history. He revealed that as a child, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart had been taken for safe shelter in the Ragged Point Lighthouse in St Philip during Hurricane Janet in 1955. The minister said that same lighthouse was scheduled to be reopened by Stuart in a few weeks. Built in 1852, Gordon’s Lighthouse is the oldest on the island, and while it fell into disrepair in recent years, Innotech Equipment Inc. took up the task of renovating the iconic structure featured on the 25 cent coin. (DN)
FLOWER GARDEN – The Brownies from St Stephen’s Primary School shone brightly during their inaugural Easter bonnet parade on Saturday. Showcasing their own designs, the 13 girls paraded at the Ann Gill Memorial Church in Fairfield, Black Rock, St Michael, in front of parents and guardians. The costumes depicted the themes Easter Garden Party and Easter Eden. Coordinator Esther Lynch-Scott said she decided to host the parade so the girls in the Brownie unit, which was founded two years ago, would have a greater understanding of the season. “I wanted to get them involved to celebrate the Easter holiday . . . and allowing them to have a little fun while doing so,” she added. (DN)
TRAFFIC CHANGES FOR OISTINS FISH FESTIVAL – The public is advised that as a result of the annual Oistins Fish Festival the following traffic management changes have been implemented until Monday, April 2. The changes run from 3 p.m. until midnight each day. Traffic travelling in an easterly direction along Maxwell main road, Christ Church towards Oistins will not be permitted beyond its junction with Canevale Road, Christ Church. All vehicular traffic with the exception of Public Service Vehicles will be diverted at the Canevale road junction. Traffic travelling in a westerly direction towards Oistins via Thornbury Hill road will be diverted at its junction with Pegwell Boggs road. Only Public Service vehicles will be permitted to travel along the regular route through Oistins. Traffic travelling towards Oistins via Oistins Hill will be permitted to access their residences, Oistins car park or the Service Station but will not be allowed free access onto Oistins main road; exits will be via same route along Oistins Hill. Traffic travelling along Enterprise main road will be diverted at the junction of Oistins main road onto Pegwell main road. Only Public Service Vehicles will be allowed access onto Oistins main road. The Royal Barbados Police Force encourages the travelling Public to comply with the directions given by Police officers on duty who will be regulating traffic. (BT)
SPECTACTORS TAKE IN FISH FESTIVAL – Overcast skies and drizzles were not enough to dampen the 2018 FLOW Oistins Fish Festival on Saturday. And despite the late start of some events, including the always exciting Chefette Greasy Pole and Parade Of The Southern Districts, participants and spectators still had a good time. Around 3:30 p.m. the Centuries Corps of Drums of Barbados led the parade from Granny’s Restaurant along Oistins Main Road, to the delight of the spectators who captured the event on their cell phones and tablets. They were followed by the Sunshine Dancers and cheerleaders from several secondary schools, including Harrison College, Deighton Griffith and Princess Margaret. Each group performed highly choreographed routines to the sweet sounds of soca music, before making a U-turn to their starting point. Meanwhile, the group from Scarborough made light work of the Greasy Pole competition once again. Members combined agility and teamwork to reach the top of the slippery pole on their first try and in a short time. On the beach, Stanton Thomas was earning his tenth net-throwing title. As is customary, the sidewalks of the southern town were filled with numerous vendors who displayed their goods to the curious people who stopped to look at what was on offer. It was a great day for Shalana’s Natural Wines, as both tourists and locals lined up to sample the best of the products. “Today has been going great. We always do well here and this is our fourth time coming. We find that while locals like our sweet wines, tourists love the dry ones, but they always receive them well,” one of the sales representatives said. Similarly, visual artist and sculptor Cecil Webb said he always loved going to the festival because he got the opportunity to tell others about his work. “When I come out I get to answer people’s questions about something that I painted or a sculpture that I carved out of wood. People are surprised at the things I can make,” Webb said. (DN)
