How did this game ever get into overtime?! Shoot me now. I am just gonna say it. Russell Wilson is massively overpaid and overrated. Ditto, Matt Ryan. I have been saying this for years: Russell Wilson is more interested in celebrity than football. He is, sadly, very much like Meghan Merkle. I am starting to feel sorry for Denver Broncos fans.

Hey my friend at @transparentcatpngs don’t worry I won’t steal your game, but I’d love if you’d share my cat Bert Jones. He was named after the Baltimore Colts/Los Angeles Rams QB of the 70s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is my best friend in the world. I hate to admit it, but when he’s around it’s a treat. I just ain’t got too many friends, but Bert never ever lets a day pass without showing me overwhelming affection

A fantastic article from Albert Breer at Sports Illustrated about Joe. It's kinda long but worth the read. A lot of interesting comments from Joe, Zac, Dan Pitcher and even the Colts coaching staff praising Joe after their joint practice. This man might have the highest football IQ in the league. 🧠

2024 NFL Storylines
Now that rosters have trimmed down to 53, for the most part, it's time to finally look ahead to the NFL season which begins Thursday September 5th. We all know that sports brings about drama that keeps us glued to the tv each and every weekend of the season, this NFL season won't be any different. With that in mind, I will give you my storylines to watch this season.
1. Super Bowl or Bust - These are teams that I feel realistically have pressure to get it done this season:
Baltimore Ravens - They have the reigning MVP, a top 5 defense that returns mostly everyone and added Derrick Henry over the offseason. They made the AFC title game last year but came up small, especially offensively, it's safe to ask can they get it done? Lamar has 2 MVPs and 2 playoff wins, enough said.
Kansas City Chiefs - They are going for a three-peat and with that rarified air, as they would be the first to complete the feat. It doesn't hurt that they have the best QB in the league, they also added Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown to a WR core that hasn't even been all that dynamic the past couple of seasons.
San Francisco 49ers - The offseason saga with Trent Williams and Brandon Aiyuk's contract highlights the fact that they have some serious decisions coming up very soon. They have Deebo Samuel and Brock Purdy, who will be looking for new deals next offseason, they also lost in the Super Bowl last season. Could this be a last stand for this group?
Philadelphia Eagles - This team was just in the Super Bowl 2 years ago but took a step back last season. They have locked up their WRs and have taken steps to fix their secondary which was a major problem last season. They replaced both coordinators last season who were held accountable for the slide in performance. Nick Sirianni would technically be the next to go if this season doesn't pan out.
2. Young QBs thrust into the spotlight - Looking around the league, we are seeing that a good number of teams are pinning the direction of their season on the success or failure of unproven QBs.
Caleb Williams (Bears), Jayden Daniels (Commanders) and Bo Nix (Broncos) will be starting from week 1. JJ McCarthy seemingly was on pace to possibly be the starter with the Vikings, before he went down with a season ending knee injury. Drake Maye could very well take over the starting job at some point this season from Jacoby Brissett for the Patriots.
We also have guys in CJ Stroud (Texans), Bryce Young (Panthers), Jordan Love (Packers), Will Levis (Titans), Anthony Richardson (Colts) who are entering the season with varying experience from this past season but are still developing in their second season as starters.
We are looking at 1/3 of the league with young guys at the most important position on the field, how many of them could take their team to the playoffs this season?
3. Who makes the quick turnaround - In 19 of the last 21 years at least one team has gone from finishing last in the division the season before to division champs the following season. With that in mind, who is most likely to pull off the feat this year.
Cincinnati Bengals (AFC North) went 9-8 last year in a season where Burrow missed time and dealt with an injured wrist, if Burrow stays healthy this season they could absolutely pull it off.
Tennessee Titans (AFC South) went 6-11 last season but have done a great job in improving the roster this offseason, if Will Levis continues to improve then they could be the team that challenges the Texans this year for the AFC South crown.
Chicago Bears (NFC North) were a 7-10 team last season after a good finish to the season, they seemingly have their guy in Caleb Williams to run what they believe will be an improved offense. The defense has some pieces as well but not completely sold on coach Eberflus.
The other teams that finished last in their divisions were the New England Patriots (AFC East), LA Chargers (AFC West), Washington Commanders (NFC East), Arizona Cardinals (NFC West) and Carolina Panthers (NFC South).
With every season there are so many storylines that will play out so these are just 3 for you to monitor over the course of the 2024-2025 season. We are just days away from the season starting so strap in and get to the edge of your seat, the fun is about to start.
Make sure to give me a follow and check out my other content on my blog page. You can also follow me over @passionandprecision as well with my friend/co-host @jorissportsstories who you can also follow for her great content as well.
I appreciate you for taking the time to check out my article, until next time...

Additional Speculation On Season Storylines (Listed by team) List does not include all NFL teams
Las Vegas Raiders
Raiders fire Josh McDaniels after starting 2-10 and losing to the Chiefs Week 12 in Las Vegas, and promote defensive coordinator Patrick Graham to be their interim head coach.
Patrick Graham will finish the season with a record of 2-3, leaving the Raiders with a final record of 4-13.
The Raiders will fire general Manager Dave Ziegler, interim coach Patrick Graham, and a majority of the rest of McDaniels' staff after the regular season is completed.
Tennessee Titans
Starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill gets injured early in the season, and the Titans allow scond-year QB Malik Willis and rookie Will Levis to struggle for the starting spot before Levis wins it outright after during Tennessee's bye week in Week 7.
Levis then manages to lead the Titans to an 8-3 record from the bye week on, putting up Rookie of the Year-worthy numbers... if he had started the full season.
The Titans still manage to fall in the Wildcard Round to a tough Browns team, but this year still cements Levis as the starting quarterback going into 2024, with Tannehill likely to be moved by the front office in the offseason.
Washington Commanders
Ron Rivera is fired after a Week 16 loss to the Jets, finishing his season in Washington with a record of 4-11. Assistant head coach and Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is promoted to be the interim head coach.
Bieniemy then coaches the Commanders to a 2-0 record in the final games, and after the season, his interim tag is dropped in order to make Eric Bieniemy the full-time head coach of the Washington Commanders in 2024.
Aside
Originally, I had afew wonkier predictions, namely the Cardinals and Colts trading their respective picks to quarterback-needy teams so those unnamed teams could select one of USC QB Caleb Williams or UNC QB Drake Maye.
My only reservation was that by the time October comes around, we're gonna have seen a much better sample size of football in 2023, so I'm certain I'll have opinions on it. I'd just like to save some for the wilder stuff for when there's a clearer picture to expand upon.
Ideally, I'd like to do one of these at the end of every month of the season, so we'll see how that goes.
End of the way, I wanted to put something out to reign in the new year, and I hope you're along for the ride.
Now who's ready for some mothafuckin football?

The Steelers losing to the colts just ruined my day, wtf is up with Tomlin? And these subpar QBs?!? I had playoff dreams, but losing 3 back to back to back ????????????? Being a Steelers fan is like getting on the titanic knowing it’s going to sink.

and for football, I like the bengals and the 49ers (and whatever team drafts jj mccarthy as long as it isn't the colts)
is that just because of their qbs? yes, but leave me alone
I really prefer college football
you’re so valid for that-
i enjoy watching the bengals because of joey b, but i’ve never really been a bengals fan
the 49ers have always been the tema i followed in the playoffs (may as well add them to my team list tbh)
and i’m right there with you with the jj thing, wherever he goes i go🫡
with you on the last thing too, i prefer college sm more

From your football posts - what’s deflategate and spygate?
Glad you asked! :D
In 2007, the Patriots had what seemed to be a perfect season. Seriously, they were undefeated. However, it soon came to light that the Patriots had illegally recorded coaching signals of the New York Jets, then coached by Eric Mangini who had previously been an assistant of Bill Belichick. The NFL fined Belichick $500,000 (the NFL maximum) and the team $250,000 as the team admitted their wrongdoing. As well the team had to forfeit their number one draft pick in the 2008 draft.
However, the team still made it all the way to the Super Bowl and only the New York Giants led by Eli Manning could prevent them from having a perfect season (such a feat only achieved by the Miami Dolphins). Unfortunately, the Patriots still hold the record of being the only team to go 16-0 in the regular season (the 1972 Miami Dolphins went 17-0 for their perfect season, with 9-0 in the regular season and a 14-7 win against Washington in the Superbowl)
As for Deflategate, well once again the Patriots were up to some chicanery. On January 18th, 2015, after the Patriots beat the Colts in the AFC Championship game, it was revealed that the game balls had been deflated by the Patriots' equipment managers with Tom Brady (the QB) being highly implicated due to the fact he had destroyed the phone that the equipment manager had claimed Tom had texted him with, asking if the balls had been deflated. As a result, Brady was suspended for four games the next season. The Patriots still went on to play the Seahawks in the SuperBowl and due to some lovely throwing by Russel Wilson at the one yard line when it was second and goal and the Seahawks had the best running back in the NFL, the Patriots won earning Brady his sixth Superbowl ring.
But at least we got to giggle about Brady's 'balls'. Yes, we are all immature children lol

since the important part of you (my mutuals) asked, here's rose oc wank: nfl edition
this is gonna get a lil unrealistic and of course if you (for some fuckn reason) have a problem with ocs for a real life sports league then GET OUUUTTTTT
n e ways
so i already spoilered some of the things this peculiar group of Sad Wet Men have to offer but i wanna start with the running back or as i (the name generator i ran through 437 times.) called him, duane cameron. he's a rb who got drafted in 2011 in the 2nd round bc i just can't let go of my senior citizens (terms and conditions apply i KNOW 34 isn't old) to the panthers. i don't know if they were actually in need of a rb at that time but fuck it they have one now and he's gorjus.
he's known cam (1st ovr pick yannooooo) since high school (after moving away from canada...but that's a whole thing i don't even wanna get into that) and when they got drafted to the same team cam was more enthralled by it than duane but hey he'll have to live w that now. no eli manning shenanigans you are STAYING THERE
n e ways he played for the panthers for a couple seasons and he was always in the top 10 rb conversations (from 2012 onwards bc the only thing people remember him for in 2011 is getting batista bombed by jj watt). he won opoy in 2014 for the first time and repeated in 2015. yk what also happened in 2015.
bc i am chronically living in the past and i'll never stand for the injustice that was dealt on that particular day in 2016, of course my 6'7 babygirl (don't question the dimensions. just Don't.) was the missing piece to the panthers super bowl and they do win that shit fuck you and your big ass forehead peyton. duane also wins sbmvp bc of his outlandish 377 yard performance (I FUCKING WARNED YOU) but you could expect that
n e ways after an easy repeat in 2016 (julio i wanted you to have this so bad but...the Narrative) and some drama in 2017 (mainly due to cam making the bail for no fucken reason) my boy finally hung up the boots in carolina and signed with the ravens because i am a biased little fangirlie and i want my team to have everything. he won the chip in 2019 w the murder birds and maybe sorta somewhat did it again in 2022 but shhhh
n e ways this was a LOT for just one guy and trust me he's the only one with that much history. movin tf on
so in my last post i did mention a 2nd oc who's a social experiment. well his name is ansis knight (that was NOT my idea btw i asked my brother to give me a name for a cornerback and this is what he came up with) and he's a social experiment in the sense that he's literally german. like his dad is american and everything but the dude grew up in Heidelberg, schönste Stadt im Land.
as i said he's a cb & plays for the eagles as of right now and he's very. idk. he's a dumbass and he does things he shouldn't do a lot of the time but Never On The Field. on the field he's the most annoying little bastard (especially for qbs bc for SOME FUCKING REASON he's everything everywhere all at once and they can't escape him) and wrs have a burning hatred for him (so do i). but off the field he's just this very Peculiar Personality and nobody knows what his deal is except amon-ra bc out of all the wrs he bothers every week amon-ra gets the most of it. you can imagine how he reacted when he saw his week 1 matchup last season
not a lot of history on him bc he's still fairly new but i'll just say he's my weirdest saddest wettest football guy and i love him very a lot
AND NOW. FOR THAT MOTHERFUCKER THAT WAS PART OF THE FUCKING NBA OC POST (which is so outdated by now you don't even know)
cole grAnt.
i'll take away first that he's shrunk a bit (6'10 is ENOUGH, jfc) and he's an edge rusher now which means he's the biggest menace to society the world has ever seen. he was drafted by the colts in the 6th round after a solid college season (UNDERDOG STORY RAAAAHHHHH) but they traded his ass to baltimore (eheh. hey) after an...interesting 2021 season. let me explain por favor
basically, he was tackled pretty fucking hard at one point (however hard you can hit a 6'10 dude who's built like a fucking wardrobe) and hit the ground awkwardly. @ the beginning he thought it was just a concussion and bc it was right ahead of bye week, he came back the next game. in THAT game tho he collapsed on the field and when they did a scan on his ass they found that a blood vessel exploded in his brain which caused intracranial hematoma (inner bleeding in the brain for all you non googlers). my man basically died for a second and he didn't play another game afterwards, but in 2022 he came back w a vengeance and he made joe burrow's life HELL in week 5 (and the wildcard game)
i don't know why i went THAT hard on cole's injury i just thought that i was coddling these men too hard and needed one of them to SUFFER. i mean duane already did for the duration of the 2018 season but i needed PHYSICAL SUFFERING i needed there to be BLOOD.
anyways that would be all i hope you understand at least some of it goodnight goodbye
@heyitswolfman pls accept my humble offering + apology i had some bs to deal w today so this comes late <3<3 sawry
