More on the Military and Civilian History of the AR-15
By James Fallows, 2017 This is one of the best write ups I have read on the history and evolution of the AR15 rifle. I made a PDF copy of it long ago, now it is locked behind a pay wall. The source link is at the bottom.
“In your article “Why the AR-15 Was Never Meant to be in Civilian’ hands”, your source claims that the AR-15 was not commercially available to civilians before it was standardized by the military. This is factually incorrect. Model R6000 Colt AR-15SP1 Sporter Rifle” Began on Jan 2, 1964. The M16 wasn’t issued to infantry units until 1965 (as the XM16E1), wasn’t standardized as the M16A1 until 1967, and didn’t officially replace the M14 until 1969. Colt had been selling the semi-automatic AR-15’s to civilians for 5 years by the time the M16A1 replaced the M14. Going off of the serial number records for the SP1 Colt had sold at least 2,501 riels to the civilian market by 1965, 8,250 files by 1967, and 14,, 653 rifles by 1969.” Nothing quite like a good old history lesson. Most Beloved AEW Wrestler Tournament 2: Week 1 Statistics Dump
Howdy friends, it's Saturday and that means I get to treat you all to an assortment of statistics (before reading further, just remember these stats are in progress. They should not be considered fair to anyone until the tournament is over and all brackets have been tabulated)
Total votes thus far: 70,711 (average of 129.5 votes per matchup)
The Ties
Now I've seen a handful of ties in my tournaments, but those were happening more when there were fewer votes and fewer brackets. I didn't think there would be any here. But there were. Twice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Crushing, Crushing Defeats
I am very pleased to say that there were no unanimous victories this week. However, there were two instances of a wrestler only getting a single vote
Tumblr media
The Top 20
Tumblr media
Above are the stats for the first 7 days of the top 20 frontrunners (I know they're tiny and probably illegible, but I have so many numbers and don't want to deprive anyone of them)
Wins VS Losses
With this tournament formatted how it is, it is only possible for 1 person to have 155 victories and 1 person to have 155 losses. There are currently only 20 names that have a perfect record of wins and 29 names with a perfect record of losses.

The Stock Market
This is where I'll list everyone's rank and pretend it's a little stock market so you see if people are going up or down. In future weeks, I'll add little arrows so it's kind of fun, but since this week is the first, everyone will just have their rank listed

ArmaLite AR-15 and Derivatives
(This is Actually Serves for My Remastered CC I Made back in 2022. It Supposed to post on 2nd February but hell got delayed for a Week and glad I Finally Having Chance to upload it. Enjoy! Anyway in this thread The CC Models are Mostly Remastered into Great Quality and Got Fixed. So In Case you already Downloading My Stuff. You may Need to Redownload it again since this gonna be A Final Version)
💥DOWNLOAD💥
In the mid-1950s, the U.S. Department of Defense sought a new assault rifle for its infantry, influenced by the adoption of the AK-47 and the U.S. withdrawal from the FAL program. The Springfield Armory's M14, a derivative of the M1 Garand chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO, was adopted in 1958 but soon proved inadequate in Vietnam.
Around the same time, Eugene Stoner developed the AR-10, a 7.62×51mm rifle, but its design struggled with the cartridge's recoil. When the U.S. military switched to 5.56×45mm, Stoner adapted the AR-10 into the AR-15, which ArmaLite proposed to the Army in 1959 but was initially rejected. In 1960, the Air Force, led by Gen. Curtis LeMay, ordered 6,000 AR-15s. By 1965, after proving reliable in combat, the Army adopted it as the M16, with the M16A1 in service until 1984. Before That.. Some Screenshoot I Made Thank you For @chloegamesbroficial For Inspiration! Nice Work Sis!

✨ORIGINAL M16 FAMILY
Tumblr media Tumblr media
COLT XM16E1
The Progenitor Of M16 Rifle Series. The one who started it all. The XM16E1 was the first true military-issued M16 variant and played a key role in transitioning the U.S. Army from the M14 Battle Rifle to a lightweight, high-rate-of-fire assault rifle. Despite its early flaws, the refinements made in the M16A1 helped solidify the M16 family as a standard U.S. service rifle for decades. (Thank you for @honeyssims4 For Adorable Pose!)
Key Features of the XM16E1:
Forward Assist: Unlike the initial AR-15 and early M16 models, the XM16E1 introduced a forward assist on the right side of the receiver to manually ensure the bolt was fully locked. This was a response to reliability concerns, though Stoner himself opposed its necessity.
Three-Prong Flash Hider: It retained the three-prong flash suppressor, which was later replaced with a birdcage-style suppressor on the M16A1 due to durability issues (the prongs could snag on vegetation).
Chrome-Lined Chamber Issue: Early XM16E1 rifles lacked chrome-lined chambers, leading to frequent malfunctions when used in Vietnam's humid jungle conditions. Fouling and corrosion contributed to "failure to extract" malfunctions, which were later addressed in the M16A1 by adding a chrome-lined chamber and barrel.
Full Auto & Semi-Auto Selector: The rifle featured a selector switch for semi-automatic and fully automatic firing modes.
Early Vietnam Deployment: The XM16E1 was issued to U.S. troops in Vietnam around 1965 and was the first Army-standardized version of the M16 before being officially designated the M16A1 in 1967.
Problems & Fixes:
Ammunition Issue: The original 5.56×45mm M193 rounds used ball powder instead of extruded powder (as originally intended), leading to excessive fouling and jamming.
Cleaning Kits & Training: Many soldiers were not initially issued cleaning kits or proper maintenance instructions, worsening the reliability issues.
M16A1 Upgrade: The XM16E1 was formally redesignated as the M16A1 in 1967, incorporating a chrome-lined chamber and barrel, improved buffer system, and closed-end flash suppressor to resolve its issues.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
COLT M16A1
The M16A1 was the first fully standardized M16 variant adopted by the U.S. military in 1967, replacing the XM16E1 and improving upon its shortcomings. It became the primary service rifle for U.S. forces during the Vietnam War and remained in widespread use until the 1980s. (Thank you For @plazasims For "Cliff Unger" Uniform!)
Key Features & Improvements Over XM16E1:
Chrome-Lined Chamber & Barrel – Addressed the fouling and corrosion issues that plagued the XM16E1 in Vietnam's humid environment.
Birdcage Flash Hider – Replaced the three-prong flash suppressor, which was prone to bending and snagging on vegetation.
Forward Assist – Retained from the XM16E1, allowing soldiers to manually close the bolt if needed.
Reinforced Buttstock & Pistol Grip – Made from stronger polymer to prevent cracking.
New Buffer System – Helped reduce felt recoil and improve reliability in automatic fire.
30-Round Magazine Compatibility – Originally issued with 20-round magazines, but later compatible with the more practical 30-round STANAG magazines.
Weight & Length – Weighed around 3.9 kg (8.6 lbs) loaded and measured 986 mm (39 inches) in length, making it much lighter than the M14 it replaced.
Combat Use:
Vietnam War (1967–1975) – Saw extensive use, replacing the heavier M14. Soldiers appreciated its lighter weight and high fire rate, though early reliability issues due to poor maintenance training and improper ammunition caused setbacks.
Post-Vietnam Conflicts – Used in Operation Just Cause (Panama, 1989) and by allied forces worldwide into the 1990s.
Foreign Military Use – Many U.S. allies adopted surplus M16A1s, with some still in limited use today.
Replacement & Legacy:
By the mid-1980s, the M16A2 replaced the M16A1, introducing a heavier barrel, burst-fire mode, and improved sights. However, the M16A1 remains one of the most widely produced and battle-proven rifles in U.S. history, influencing modern designs like the M4A1 and civilian AR-15 variants.
Tumblr media
COLT M16A2/M16A3
The M16A2 is an upgraded version of the M16A1, featuring a longer stock, improved pistol grip, reinforced carry handle, and a more durable round handguard. It introduced a three-round burst mode instead of full-auto M16A3, Variant that Issued for United States Navy Having A Full Auto Configuration like Old M16A1. The rifle also had a heavier barrel for increased durability and accuracy.
The M16A2 saw combat in Operation Just Cause (Panama), the Gulf War, and the Bosnian War. It later served as a reserve rifle in Afghanistan and Iraq and remains a popular service weapon for military and police forces worldwide.
M16A2 (1983 – Standard Issue Upgrade)
Key Features & Improvements Over M16A1:
Stronger Barrel – Heavier profile for improved accuracy and heat resistance.
3-Round Burst Mode – Replaced full-auto with safe-semi-burst to conserve ammo.
New Rear Sight – Adjustable for windage and elevation, improving long-range accuracy.
Longer Stock & Reinforced Grip – More ergonomic design for stability.
Round Handguards – More durable and symmetrical, easier to grip.
Flash Hider Change – Birdcage closed at the bottom to prevent dust kick-up.
Improved Ammunition – Designed for the 5.56×45mm M855 "Green Tip" round, offering better penetration.
Combat History:
First issued in 1983 and widely used in Operation Just Cause (Panama, 1989) and Desert Storm (1991).
Phased out in the 2000s as the M16A4 and M4 Carbine became standard.
M16A3 (1990s – Full-Auto Navy Variant)
How It Differs from the M16A2:
Retains Full-Auto – Uses safe-semi-full auto, unlike the M16A2’s 3-round burst.
Used by U.S. Navy and SEALs – Needed for maritime operations and boarding teams.
Physically Similar to the M16A2 – No other major differences besides the fire control group.
Limited Use & Replacement:
Never widely adopted outside of Navy units and special forces.
Eventually replaced by the M16A4 and M4A1 due to modularity and compact size needs.
Tumblr media
COLT M16A4
The M16A4 is the final standard-issue variant of the M16 rifle family, introduced in the late 1990s to replace the M16A2. It was widely used by the U.S. Marine Corps and some Army units, particularly during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The M16A4 was the last major evolution of the M16 series, transitioning the rifle into a more modular, optics-friendly platform.
Key Features & Improvements Over M16A2:
Flat-Top Receiver with Picatinny Rail – Allowed for easy mounting of optics, scopes, and accessories, unlike the fixed carry handle of the M16A2.
Removable Carry Handle – Featured adjustable iron sights but could be detached for mounting optics like the ACOG (widely used by U.S. Marines).
Three-Round Burst Mode – Retained the safe-semi-burst firing modes from the M16A2 (no full-auto, unlike the M16A3).
Knight’s Armament M5 RAS (Rail Adapter System) – Allowed attachment of foregrips, lasers, flashlights, and grenade launchers (M203/M320).
Heavy Barrel – Improved accuracy and heat resistance for sustained fire.
30-Round STANAG Magazine – Standardized across NATO forces.
Combat Use & Replacement:
Widely used in the Iraq War (2003–2011) and Afghanistan War (2001–2021) by U.S. Marines.
Phased out in favor of the M4A1 carbine, which offered greater mobility in urban warfare.
Still in use by Marine reserves and allied forces worldwide.
🎈CARBINE FAMILY
The AR-15 carbine family includes a wide range of compact, lightweight rifles derived from the original AR-15/M16 platform. Even as the U.S. shifts to the XM7 (Sig MCX Spear), the Mk18 remains a favorite in SOF circles due to its compact size, reliability, and versatility.
SPECIALIZED VARIANTS
This Part Will covered the Unconventional Layout Of AR-15 Rifle something that Slightly Deviated with Their Original Mainstream M16 Or M4 Guidelines.
Tumblr media
Colt 9mm SMG (Colt RO635)
The Colt 9mm SMG, also known as the Colt Model 635, is a submachine gun (SMG) chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum, designed as a pistol-caliber variant of the M16/AR-15 platform. It was developed in the 1980s for law enforcement, special forces, and security personnel who needed a compact, controllable firearm for close-quarters combat (CQC).
Key Features of the Colt 9mm SMG (Model 635)
1. 9mm Blowback Operation (No Gas System)
Unlike the M4/M16’s gas-operated system, the Colt 9mm SMG uses a simple blowback mechanism.
Lacks a gas tube, gas block, or forward assist, making it simpler and more reliable with 9mm ammo.
2. Shorter 10.5-Inch Barrel
More compact than the M16 (20 inches) or M4 (14.5 inches).
Perfect for CQB, SWAT, and VIP protection.
Often fitted with a threaded barrel for suppressors.
3. 32-Round Stick Magazine
Uses a curved 32-round magazine, similar in appearance to Uzi magazines, but modified for the AR platform.
Feeds from Colt’s proprietary SMG lower receiver, not interchangeable with standard AR-15/M4 lowers.
4. Fixed Carry Handle (A1-Style)
Standard M16A1-style upper receiver, with integrated iron sights and no Picatinny rail (early versions).
Some later versions feature flat-top Picatinny rails for optics.

Tumblr media
Colt CM901 (Colt Modular Carbine 901)
The Colt CM901 (Colt Modular Carbine 901) is a multi-caliber, modular battle rifle, designed to bridge the gap between 5.56×45mm NATO (M4/M16) and 7.62×51mm NATO (.308 Winchester) rifles. Developed by Colt Defense, it was unveiled in 2010 as a highly adaptable AR-platform weapon for special forces, designated marksmen, and infantry roles.
Key Features of the Colt CM901
1. Multi-Caliber Compatibility (7.62 NATO & 5.56 NATO)
Primary caliber: 7.62×51mm NATO (battle rifle performance, extended range).
Can quickly convert to 5.56×45mm NATO by swapping the upper receiver and using a magazine adapter.
Compatible with standard AR-15/M4 uppers, making it one of the most versatile battle rifles on the market.
2. Monolithic Upper Receiver
The CM901 features a one-piece, free-floating monolithic upper receiver, improving:
Accuracy (more rigid than two-piece designs).
Optic mounting (full-length Picatinny rail).
Accessory attachment (foregrips, lasers, bipods).
Provides a seamless rail system similar to the LMT MWS and KAC SR-25.
3. Shorter 16-Inch Barrel (Battle Rifle in a Carbine Package)
Compact for a 7.62 NATO rifle, giving it more maneuverability than traditional battle rifles like the M14 or SCAR-H.
Available in various barrel lengths (13”, 16”, and 20”) for different mission needs.
4. Ambidextrous Controls
Features ambidextrous safety selector, magazine release, and bolt catch, making it ideal for left-handed shooters.
A big improvement over standard AR-10 platforms, which typically lack full ambidextrous controls.
5. Battle-Proven Reliability
Uses a reinforced lower receiver to handle the power of 7.62 NATO rounds, while still functioning smoothly with 5.56 NATO conversions.
Built to military durability standards, making it rugged and reliable for combat use.
Why the CM901 Didn't Fully Replace the M4/M16
Heavier than standard M4 carbines (even with a 5.56 upper).
7.62 NATO recoil & ammo weight limit its role in CQB settings.
SCAR-H and HK417 were preferred for SOF battle rifle roles.
Military demand for a dedicated 7.62 platform (SR-25, M110) outweighed the need for a modular hybrid.

Robert Bowers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Robert Bowers was born on September 4, 1972, in Pennsylvania. When he was 7 years old, his father got into trouble with the law, was tried for rape and committed suicide. His father's suicide shook the young boy, who was still in his formative years.
His mother started a new relationship and then split up again. Robert and his mother moved in with his grandparents, who acted as the boy's parents.
When he was 13, he attempted suicide. Since then, Bowers' entire adolescence has been summed up in long periods of hospitalization due to his frequent suicide attempts. Robert was depressed and was later diagnosed with schizophrenia. He also tried to spray his mother with aerosol and set her on fire, but it didn't work and he was hospitalized for being mentally insane at the age of 16. At 17, he was hospitalized again. Most of the hospitalizations were involuntary on Robert's part.
His relationship with his mother, according to him, was terrible. The period when Robert lived only with his mother was chaotic, and he reported going hungry because he didn't have enough to eat. When he went to live with his grandparents, the environment was still hostile, but on the verbal side. His grandparents often argued with each other and also with the boy.
Robert experimented with substance abuse, although he was not addicted. Substances included alcohol, marijuana, opioids (the type he used most, along with alcohol), heroin, cocaine and hallucinogens such as LSD.
Robert found it difficult to socialize and relate to people, but he still had a few close friends, whom he often went out drinking with. Bowers' friends were described as “bad people”. He and his friends used to shoot up and blow up unused buildings. In addition, Robert was grieving for a friend who died of an overdose. Neighbors described Robert as a “ghost”.
He claimed that he was not suicidal, that his hospitalizations were due to the violence towards his mother, and said that many times when he was treated as suicidal for drinking too much, almost to the point of an alcoholic coma, he had no intention of dying, and just wanted to drink until he “saw where it was going”.
Robert, after the crime he committed, was understanding and collaborative in his psychological assessment. In his analysis, it can be seen that Robert was classified as someone with little empathy and difficulty in putting himself in other people's shoes. He described to the psychologist that he had no suicidal ideation and was leading a quiet life as an adult. The psychologist described Robert as a kind and calm person. He was excited to talk about subjects that interested him, specifically politics, Jews and immigration. He said he enjoyed doing his daily activities such as cleaning the house and cooking.
Bowers was excited about news with an extreme right-wing bias. He often consumed Jim Quinn's newspaper. He created an account on the social network GAB, often used by people linked to the extreme right. On this social network, he expressed negative opinions about Jews, Muslims and immigrants. Jews were the main group Robert used to attack. He believed in the theory of white genocide and also used to deny the Holocaust.
Some phrases that Robert posted on his social networks:
"Jews are children of Satan"
"HIAS [Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society] likes to bring in invaders who kill our people. I can't sit by and watch my people get slaughtered. Fuck your optics. I'm going in." (On the day of the attack, Robert entered the Tree Of Life synagogue armed, carrying a Colt AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and three .357 glocks, all weapons were used and the rifle was fired 67 times during the shooting. Bowers kept firing for 20 minutes straight and explored most parts of the synagogue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first two people shot were two brothers, Cecil and David Rosenthal, at the main entrance, after which Bowers went downstairs to New Light. Some who heard the shots didn't initially recognize them for what they were: Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, located upstairs, thought a coat rack had fallen and made a noise. At 9.54am, the police began to receive several calls from people barricaded in the building and reporting the attack.
At 9:55 a.m., Melvin Wax, the leader of the New Light services, hid in a pitch-black closet in the basement. He opened the closet door and Bowers immediately shot him. The latter didn't notice the other three faithful who remained in the cupboard. Two other New Light members, Gottfried and Stein, were shot and killed in the basement kitchen. Bowers also killed Jerry Rabinowitz of Dor Hadash, a doctor who had gone in the direction of the sound of the shots to see if anyone had been injured. At 9:57, Bowers left the basement and climbed the stairs to the larger Tree of Life service. About 13 worshippers had gathered for the Shabbat service in an upstairs chapel. Myers helped four of them evacuate the chapel through a side door, but eight of the worshippers remained behind. Bowers killed seven of them and wounded the eighth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While shooting, Robert shouted “All Jews must die!”. He shot the same people repeatedly. One victim, who was hiding with her mother, reported saying goodbye to her mother, as she knew she was going to die [because of the heavy bleeding resulting from the shot she had taken], and had to leave her mother's side to go and hide elsewhere, as Robert was approaching where they were hiding.
One of the wounded lay on the stairs bleeding for a long time, even after the police arrived he remained there, ignored because they believed he was dead.
When the police arrived at the scene, Robert Bowers fired at the officers, resulting in an exchange of fire between them. Robert went up to another floor of the synagogue and remained there for a long time, until he officially surrendered and was taken by a SWAT team to hospital because of his injuries from the police shots. While on the hospital gurney, heading towards the emergency room, Robert said that the Jews were committing genocide against his people.
During the psychological interview, Bowers said he was calm on the day of the attack, without any negative thoughts. He said he regretted it when he arrived at the synagogue and saw that he could have taken more ammunition. He described his attack as a necessity, and that he considered it already done from the moment he thought about it. He was surprised when he was told that he had killed 11 people, as he remembered only killing 5 or 6. He also said that if he could, he would do it again and that he didn't regret what he had done.
His trial was delayed by the consequences of COVID-19 and the pandemic. However, in 2023, Robert Bowers received the death sentence on 22 counts from the jury. He was convicted of 63 federal crimes, and is today on death row in the USP Terre Haute penitentiary.

Gun companies and their reputations
hello murder drones fans! here's a random idea i wanted to post. as we know, people love making fankids. especially with Uzi, and with uzi, people are going to want to name their fankids after guns. ive already seen it, and I understand it. its sick as hell!
however, these are gun companies were talking about, and the gun industry does actually have loads and loads of drama. some of these companies also do not have your best interests in mind. I personally, would not name my son after a gun company with a systemic sexual harassment lawsuit against it, or from a company that fucks over its customers.
Im gonna be compiling a list of gun companies with names that could be used as names for a person, and giving some background on the company and their standing in the market. I'll try to make it alphabetical, and if you see any other company names you want me to add and give insight on, I'll add it with an edit.
Lemme know if i get anything wrong as well! I'm writing most of this down from memory over my experiences with these guns and companies
Armalite - I suppose you could use this as a name?? They used to be owned by Fairchild Corp, and made the first versions of the Ar-15 for the US military, before selling the design to Colt for mass production. The AR-15 was originally designed as full auto btw. the M16 is an Ar15, not every Ar15 is an M16. They make guns still, but they're a far cry from the original Armalite. I haven't heard of anything bad about them particularly.
Beretta - The oldest still standing gun company on the planet, they are almost 500 years old now. They've made derivatives of the Walther P38 for about a century now, also known as the Beretta 92 or M9, and they make sporting and combat shotguns, as well as some newer stuff like the APX striker fired pistols and CX4 carbines. When NFTs were all the rage, they tried to cash in on it with some virtual photos of guns that were worth fake money. It didn't go well, and Beretta support isn't known for responding to customer support emails. Their 92 series of pistols are dead reliable though, just chunky.
Brugger & Thomet - They make good guns, but they're all so ridiculously expensive that it's not worth it at all. They make a lot of popular suppressors, and as a company is reported to pay very well.
Colt - Recently bought out by CZ, Colt is one of oldest American gun companies. They were known for producing the 1911 designed by John Browning, and the AR-15 by Eugene Stoner and Jim Sullivan. Colt did not design the Ar-15, that was Stoner and Sullivan at Armalite when the Airforce requested a new rifle because the M14 was dogshit. Colt made AR-15s for a long time before FN Herstal made a better version (The M16A4, and later the M4) that met the military's needs. Colt has very little drama that's notable, but in the 80s-90s they made the All American 2000, which was called a bad gun in retrospect by every youtuber on the planet. The gun worked perfectly fine, it was reliable, it just has a very long and heavy trigger.
CZ - Mentioned because of its clones and their names. Originally owned by the Czechoslovakian government, before being split off into a private company, they make some modern looking pistols, the CZ-75 and modern sporting derivatives, as well as assault rifles, sporting shotguns, and some bolt action rifles. There's nothing much of note, other than that CZ fans will absolutely have to let you know they're a CZ fan. They're guns are pretty fine, and ive never heard of any reliability issues. the CZ-75 is also a gun thats been used as a base for other companies guns such as IWI's Jericho 941 and Baby Desert Eagle, Tanfoglio's clones, SAR's clones, B&T's Mark 2, the Armalite AR-24, the Springfield P9, the Sphinx SDP- Actually, here's a chart of how many CZ-75 clones there are, its MASSIVE. People love copying this gun. Dont buy a clone, just get a CZ-75.
Franchi - A long time ago they made the LF-57 SMG, and they made the SPAS-12 shotgun. They were bought by Beretta and Beretta discontinued the SPAS-12 so that Beretta could sell their combat shotguns to police and military instead. Franch makes hunting and sporting shotguns now. The Spas-12 was never a good shotgun because it was ridiculously heavy and chunky, and loading it was a pain in the ass compared to other shotguns that dont need locked loading gates.
Glock - They make exactly one gun in over 31 different configurations. These things are used by everyone and the only reason one is going to malfunction is if you stick aftermarket parts in it. This is the safest gun you could possibly buy, but they fit some people's hands badly. This is like the default price for a gun at 550 USD
Heckler and Koch (HK) - They make the MP5, UMP, G36, HK416, USP, and VP9. They're kinda overpriced and over hyped. The MP7 is a bad gun btw
Kel-tec - (I suppose you could use "Kel") Someone take the crack away from their engineers. They make cheaper guns that are sometimes the absolute best thing on the market (CP33), and other times just a very weird product that doesn't make sense to exist (PR57).
IWI/IMI - The gun company sorta owned by the state of Isreal, their one claim to fame is the Uzi, made by Uziel Gal, who was supposedly kind of an asshole. Every gun they made afterwards was licensed, they just make stuff for the isreali military, and sell stuff to the US too. They make an Ar-15 clone called the "ZION-15". Let that sit in your mind before you buy something from them. They also make the Uzi Pro, which is a micro uzi pistol, with a plastic receiver to make it cheaper to manufacture than the original Uzi's. Its really ugly, overpriced, and you're better off buying a Mac 10 from Masterpiece Arms. IWI used to make the Desert Eagle, before Magnum research started making everything in the USA instead of licensing it to Isreal. Magnum Research is owned by Khar Arms now.
2025-01-26: I forgot, but I was intending to mention IWI because of their gun names, the Uzi, the Galil, and Jericho
Khar Arms - There is nothing to say about this company, I believe they only stay in business because of the Desert Eagle. They make some basic pistols that actually look unique, but there's nothing else, I would assume their guns are reliable at least.
Kimber - A company that was so dogshit at making the 1911, that everyone from Boomers to Zoomers knew not to buy their products. Supposedly they're starting to get out of their rut, and they make some pretty looking 1911 pistols.
Sturm Ruger - American gun company where the owner was actually a bit of a dick and liked to comply with gun restrictions, and supported magazine capacity restrictions. Its likely why the Ruger 10/22 and Mark pistols only held 10 rounds until Ruger as a company started making 25 round stick mags for the 10/22. They also made the Mini-14 which is a smaller version of the M14. Its not that good, but its used frequently against the Ar15 in bad legality arguments. All of their current products are pretty reliable and affordable, besides the previous CEO's opinions, they're a decent company.
Sig Sauer - DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM THIS COMPANY. This is not even about the moral issues like with IWI, SIG SAUER USA GUNS ARE NOT SAFE. Sig Sauer USA is a completely seperate company from the old German Sig Sauer, and the Swiss SIG. Sig now makes containers, Sig Sauer Germany was closed down because they kept trafficking arms, and Sig Sauer USA is now owned by Ron Cohen, who has not been able to answer why their P320s keep shooting randomly. Their products are notoriously unreliable, of poor quality, using parts usually made in 3rd world countries in order to be cheaper, and they had a lawsuit against them for an old women who was constantly sexually harassed by her supervisor at the USA factories. Their MCX rifles and SMGs are known to break randomly, the Cross had a safety issue where the gun could fire upon closing the bolt, the SPEAR has barrel mounting issues where with only your bare hands, could BEND the barrel mount side to side. They are an awful company and have nothing to do with the old Sig 550 rifles and P226 or P210 pistols that were actually decent, if a bit outdated. Bad company, bad to mediocre guns. There are huge rumors that Sig Sauer USA is in bed with some higher ups in the US Military, as Sig won the contract for the military's new service pistol, new service rifle, new service beltfed machine gun and for service ammunition production. Fudd Blasters and Protraband on youtube have made videos on them, explaining in detail what is bad about them. Their guns aren't even that revolutionary or anything, they're just cheap.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSlleZOxy9g
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RIvHsZZ9ho
Smith & Wesson - Based in the US, they chase police contracts mainly. Their guns are actually pretty dang good, priced decently, although they mainly chase whatever other companies are doing. I personally wouldn't buy from them because they support the police so much.
Springfield - The Springfield armory that exists now is not that same Springfield armory that the US Government owned for producing guns. Springfield now is known for importing guns of dubious quality and function from Croatia. They used to import/make clones of HK G3 rifles, poorly. They paid a bunch of shills a while back when they brought in the VHS-2 rifle into the US to call the gun a really good product, but the gun was found out to be very mediocre and the shills were selling their guns after making reviews to bank on the artificial market.
Taurus - Before they started making their own G2 and G3 pistols, they got their entire name for copying Beretta pistols and S&W revolvers, cheaply. The G2 and G3 are affordable pistols that are actually very reliable, and thus are usually owned by people in poor situations. There's not much wrong about them as a company, besides making the Taurus Judge.
Walther - German company who made uhm, various, guns for a certain... Political party during the first half of the 1900s (Similar to BMW), they almost exclusively make sporting and defense pistols now. The Walther P99 and PDP pistols are very good, and they make various Olympic style pistols and rifles for professional shooting like the GSP Expert. 100 years ago, we would be calling them the enemy, but currently they make guns for civilians and while they do sell the PDP towards police, I can't think of any notable use it has. The Walther P99 was extremely popular with police in the 90s though, and it's silloette is used on "No guns allowed" signs frequently.

Could we possibly get a brainmade child of Ares from Percy Jackson? Level 3 would be ideal but whatever you have motivation/inspiration for is fine too
Absolutely! This one We+ had some fun with, though the names were a real pain,, I hope you like anyway!
> Name(s): Rabies, Furor, Max, Zorn, Cole, Fury, Blaze, Storm, Hunter, Colt/Colton, Dagger,
> Pronoun(s): he/it/rage/kill/maim/stab/cut/bitch/knife/bleed/blood
> Age: 15-17ish
> Gender: masc, ragebodiement, revinogender, menisgender, predthing, drybloodihandaesic, redgender, sanguigender, aggrobloodygender
> Sexuality: queer, maybe unlabeled, may have a difficult time having a romantic relationship due to being angry by nature (may want to be loved but struggles to express this)
> Role: anger holder, anger processor
> Source: braindmade, Alterblogic
> Faceclaims:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
> Sign-offs: 💢, 🩸, 🗡️, 🤺, ⚔️, 🪓
> Song theme:
> Front triggers(pos/neg/neu):
+ things that anger the body, being yelled at, people that wanna fight, play wrestling, stage combat
/ Percy Jackson content, Percy Jackson alters (heavily considers them source + sourcemates), being at the gym, doing sports
- injustice in the world, people that bully others, being attacked for no reason
> Likes/dislikes:
+ hanging with friends (sparingly, low social battery), sparring, being outside, training
- being afraid, being dismissed, being seen as weak/not strong enough, inaction
> Personality: Come across very mean or very gruff but honestly they just want to impress the people important to them. Children of Ares often carry an expectation from their dad, that they have to use their rage for the betterment of themselves and others, so it makes it hard for them to feel proud of themselves. May be quieter or reserved, and may prefer to be largely left alone unless they bond with a particular person. Once someone is their friend there isn’t a line they won’t cross to help that friend.
> Ways they do their role: May use their anger to channel into activism, organizing and attending rallies, protecting those they care about, fighting with internet trolls, anything to care for the people they love and the people that love them. May also help process anger, if the body comes from a situation where anger was punished very severely, or you weren’t allowed to be angry, they may be an outlet for that anger, expressing when things are hurtful or enraging to them because you deserve to feel the full range of emotion.
> Inner world occupation or behavior: primarily solitary, may prefer to live alone or with a small group of close people. May honestly prefer something like camp, where they have a cabin of siblings or like minded people. May like having a place to train and fight, learning to spar, getting tougher and stronger and able to better fight those that get in kills way.
> Possible outerworld behavior: Loves to spar and fight with people, especially play wrestling or stage training. They know that he can’t really fight in this world, not in the way that he’s used to anyway, but may like or enjoy activities that mimic this (LARP battling, stage training for fighting, wrestling, hunting, axe/knife throwing). May seek out people that share these hobbies, especially to get stronger. Loves going to the gym and may try to increase the body’s health by working out a lot.

Note
Would you be able to identify this gun for me?
Tumblr media
thank you!!
That's some flavour of AR-15. I'd say a colt, but without seeing what's written on the receiver I doubt I can be sure

TBH I think one of the problems I have always had with Retro AR builds is like...it's just not real
I'm never going to own a real XM16E1 or a real XM177E2
I have an M1 Garand with a receiver dated November 1943, with a replacement barrel from the 1950s. That's the real thing, that is the exact rifle they used in WWII and that one specifically saw enough use that it needed a new barrel.
A Colt SP1 isn't an M16, it's an SP1. They're just always replicas and approximations, and since I don't really care for AR-15s in and of themselves, my interest in specimens like the XM16E1 is purely historical. If they had an intrinsic cool factor, that would help offset that they are approximations, but for me they don't have very much intrinsic cool factor.

Georgia School Shooting Suspect Revealed to Have Hidden Weapon in Poster Board

Colt Gray’s Alarming Method of Concealment
In a tragic incident that unfolded on September 4 at Apalachee High School in Georgia, 14-year-old Colt Gray is accused of fatally shooting two students and two teachers while injuring several others. A Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agent testified in Barrow County court on Wednesday, detailing surveillance footage that revealed Gray’s unsettling tactics as he concealed a long gun within a poster board resembling a school project while boarding the school bus.
The GBI agent recounted that on the morning of the shooting, Colt Gray rode the bus with the weapon hidden from view. After arriving at school, he reportedly left a notebook on his math desk that outlined a plan for the shooting, including estimated casualty counts and sketches of the classroom layout. Gray then proceeded to the restroom, emerging with gloves on and the poster board covering the AR-15-style rifle, which he was allegedly trying to conceal. As he attempted to re-enter his classroom, a classmate spotted him through the door’s window, prompting her to alert the teacher and initiate a lockdown.
Shooting Incidents in Classrooms
Following the lockdown, Colt Gray reportedly entered a nearby classroom, where he began firing indiscriminately. The GBI agent stated that within approximately seven seconds, six or seven individuals were struck by gunfire. After this initial burst of violence, Gray allegedly fled toward the bathrooms, only to reappear moments later, aiming his rifle at a teacher and firing multiple shots. The attack escalated as Gray turned and shot two coaches in the hallway. Tragically, a student exiting a bathroom was shot and killed in the process.
The chaos in the hallways prompted two school resource officers to confront the 14-year-old, ordering him to drop the rifle and surrender. The rapid response from law enforcement was crucial in preventing further tragedy in what has been described as a harrowing episode.
Legal Proceedings and Parental Responsibility
In the aftermath of the shooting, Colt Gray has been charged with multiple counts of murder, while his father, Colin Gray, faces serious charges including four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. The GBI contends that Colin Gray knowingly allowed his son to possess the weapon used in the tragic incident, raising significant questions about parental responsibility and oversight regarding firearm access.
As investigations continue, the community grapples with the devastating impact of this shooting, raising awareness about the urgent need for discussions around gun safety and mental health support in schools. The hearings are set to explore the full circumstances surrounding the incident and the accountability of those involved, both directly and indirectly.

The tcc is embarrassed rn for that Nashville dude, if your gonna shoot up your school. don’t just surrender after 4 minutes dude. Embarrassing. This is how I feel about all recent school shootings, like that Samantha girl or whatever, like stop copying people! be different is it that hard you are not Eric Harris you are an edgy 14 year old with an ar-15. Like at least the colt dude tried to be different, Samantha jit thought she was Eric Harris and this dude is just all school shooters into one, i feel bad for him though hes definitely going through a lot of internalized racism.
