Preview of my upcoming lolita fabric print, Destiny of a Rose! In case the title didn't clue you in, this print celebrates the classic manga/anime The Rose of Versailles in all its decadent and tragic glory. Two additional colorways are in the works (royal blue, and cream x pink).
The focal point of this piece is its cameo portraits, which feature the five main characters set into golden frames. Each frame takes inspiration from the characters' designs and personal taste, their role in the story, and historical sources such as Marie Antoinette's love of pearls and the crest of the von Fersen family. Traces of blood evoke the violent and tragic end in store for our cast.
The proportions of the stripes are based directly on an extant sample of 18th century French/Italian silk dress fabric from the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection, and the colors are inspired by extant garments and by paintings of French nobility of the era. I'm a historical fashion lover at heart, so why not bring a bit of that into lolita?
If all goes well, all four colorways will be up for sale on Spoonflower by the end of February!

Vanessa Bryant Gives Us A Sneak Peek At Nike Kobe 8 Protro "Leopard" PE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This particular sneaker appears to belong to an exclusive player edition, reserved for Kobe Bryant's inner circle, including friends and family, as well as a few chosen NBA players affiliated with the Nike Basketball roster. It's unlikely that this model will be made available for retail purchase. Kobe's signature line has a history of incorporating animal prints, with the Kobe 7 featuring a leopard-inspired "Christmas" colorway in 2011 and a "Cheetah" colorway in 2012. While this exclusive edition may not hit the shelves for the general public, you can still get a sneak peek at the shoe through the images above.

Project Alpha Cheech & Chong's Next Shoe
DIZYGOTIC releases the Cheech & Chong colorway of Project Alpha telling the story of the iconic comedy duo Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong's second movie in 1980: Cheech & Chong's Next Movie.
The release features a similar color but mismatched materials with various elements belonging to the outfits worn by Cheech and Chong in their film "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie."
the mudguards are designed with Cheech's blue dotted shirt and Tommy's bandana with the exact same pattern as the ones they wore in the original film in 1980.
the heels are made of faux sheepskin and corduroy to showcase Tommy Chong's sheepskin vest and Cheech Marin's beanie in the movie, with Cheech & Chong embroideries in the center.
the real horsehair is used to reflect Cheech's second character Cousin Red's grey animal skin coat and red wild-looking hair. Cousin Red’s turquoise jewelry is evoked by the inclusion of a brooch.
A washed denim material is implemented all across the right shoe to pay tribute to Tommy's classic denim worn throughout the movie.
the velvet shoe lining demonstrates the symbolic fluffy car dashboard and the red curtains from the van in the movie.
The insoles are printed with Cheech & Chong's famous lowrider van decal, where the duo gained more respect by changing their original "Copycat Productions" into a true warrior-angel in the movie - a kind message said to friends and brethren alike is printed across both insoles.
A pair of "Ain't that a peach" napkin cloth inserts, which are inspired by one of the funniest magic scenes performed by the duo, is included in the shoes.
Project Alpha Cheech and Chong features an all-premium top-grain pigskin suede upper, with a perforated suede toe box and Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong embroideries reflecting their classic movie characters. The pair features a mismatched material design and also an asymmetrical design on the lateral and medial sides. The insoles also boast memory foam lining and their famous movie components on both insoles. Strobel boards above the midsoles come with mismatched logo prints. Mismatched color Vibram megagrip outsoles provide additional stability and durability. Each pair is handmade in Nectar Lab instead of an assembly line.

I wanted to do something simple for Abstract Animal Print, so naturally I made four versions in... I don't even know how many colorways. But I like the one I settled on! Neutral, light colors aren't my normal thing, but I think it works well for curtains.
You can vote here on Spoonflower. Thank you!

The Mystery of the Reebok x EG LX2200
I’m a 41 year old attorney and “sneakerhead,” and recently I’ve been looking more at brands like Asics, Reebok, Puma, and Mizuno as an alternative to Adidas and Nike, which I own plenty of. I’ve owned pairs from all the former brands in the past but I figured now was a good time to support brands other than the “Big 2”. I’ve loved sneakers since I was in grade school and I’m constantly keeping an eye out for interesting pairs that I can wear to work and won’t worry about getting them banged up when I’m rambling around with my two young sons.
I’ve revisited Reebok lately because I bought the jjjjound NPCs and Nylons and figured it would be worth checking out their new releases weekly. On my last visit to the Reebok website I noticed two colorways of LX2200s that I hadn’t seen before (a third wheat colorway hit the site after I wrote this). One colorway was a white and gray combination and the other was black. I have seen other colorways of the LX2200 in the past and thought the sneaker was interesting in an updated classic sort of way but didn’t give it too much thought; I usually stick to contemporary models or straight retro models.
When I clicked through the link to look at the two colorways I noticed they had an interesting mix of mesh, leather, suede, and patent leather that was not consistent from left to right sneaker. I also saw “EG2200” on the heel of the sneaker. As a fan and owner of Engineered Garments clothing and sneaker collaborations I started to believe this was a Reebok x Engineered Garments collaboration. I looked at the description of the sneakers but there was nothing indicating EG had anything to do with this collab. The only copy in the description was the vague reference of “[t]hese Reebok shoes are inspired by the wild, and have a printed sockliner that nods to the animal kingdom.” I searched the internet for some clue or story about this release. Nothing. I only found press about the Reebok Workout collaboration EG did with Reebok years ago. I even went through EG’s old lookbooks to see if there were any models sporting the LX2200s. Again, nothing. This was very odd to me because EG collaborations always hit my newsfeed in various online publications and on social media because the brand has a very dedicated following.
Tumblr media
I looked at the images online more closely and zoomed in on the aerial view of the sneaker that shows the sockliner clearly. Engineered Garments was printed inside. I placed my order thinking this may have been a mistake. My white/gray pair arrived and in addition to EG being printed on the sockliner, it’s also printed on the natural cloth trim inside the heel. Either way, the sneakers fit and look great, and are a nice addition to my rotation.
I reached out to Reebok and Nepenthes (EG’s parent brand) for comment. The reply from Nepenthes was “[w]e currently do not have any information regarding an upcoming Reebok Engineered Garments collaboration. Please check back with us in the future or refer to our instagram for information regarding special projects.” I have not received a response from from Reebok.
The EG LX2200 does not appear on Reebok.com anymore but it is being sold at https://en.afew-store.com/products/reebok-lx-2200-cblack-cblack-cdgry7 so scoop them up if you can.

Leopard print has long been a staple in the fashion industry, symbolizing boldness, elegance, and a touch of the wild. In 2024, this timeless trend is making a significant comeback, offering endless possibilities for the modern wardrobe. From runways to streetwear, leopard print is once again taking center stage, and at Rela Rela, we're embracing this resurgence with a variety of chic and contemporary pieces that cater to every style.
The Return of Leopard Print
As highlighted in a recent Vogue article, leopard print remains a recurring favorite among designers, gracing the collections of some of the biggest names in fashion. This season, it's not just about the classic brown and black spots; we're seeing a burst of creativity with new colorways and innovative designs that breathe fresh life into this iconic pattern.
The versatility of leopard print is one of its most alluring features. Whether you're dressing up for a night out or keeping it casual, leopard print can be adapted to suit any occasion. This versatility is reflected in the range of products available at Rela Rela, where we offer a diverse selection of leopard print items that cater to different tastes and body types.
Spotlight on Rela Rela's Leopard Print Collection
The Cherry Print Oversized Short Sleeve Crew Neck T-Shirt in White combines a playful cherry print with a subtle leopard print bow, offering a unique twist on the classic white tee. Perfect for those who want to add a hint of the wild side to their casual outfits without going overboard.
For those who love a bolder look, the Leopard Base Cherry Print Oversized Short Sleeve Crew Neck T-Shirt in Black features a striking leopard print base with a vibrant cherry graphic. The combination of colors and prints makes this tee a must-have for fashion-forward individuals looking to make a statement.
The Premium Slinky Double Layered Square Neck Brazilian Bodysuit in Grey Leopard is all about sleek sophistication. The grey leopard print adds a modern twist to the classic animal print, making it an ideal piece for layering or wearing on its own. Its figure-hugging design ensures a flattering silhouette, perfect for a night out or a special occasion.
At Rela Rela, we believe that style should be inclusive. The Plus Lace Up Detail Plunge Front Body Tops In Leopard Print is designed with a daring plunge front and lace-up detail, offering a sexy yet comfortable fit. The rich leopard print is both bold and flattering, making it a great addition to any wardrobe.
Finally, the Full Length Drawstring High Waisted Plisse Wide Leg Trousers Brown Leopard are the epitome of comfort meets style. The brown leopard print exudes a classic vibe, while the plissé fabric and drawstring waist add a modern touch. Pair these with a simple top for a chic, laid-back look or dress them up with a blazer for a more polished ensemble.

Embracing a New Era: The Heir Series Celebrates the Women's Game in Jordan Brand's Basketball Legacy
Tumblr media
Jordan Brand is stepping into a transformative era of basketball with the launch of the Heir Series—a silhouette that draws inspiration from the women’s game while remaining accessible to all players on the court.
Inspired by dynamic athletes like Kiki Rice and Kiyomi McMiller, the Heir Series highlights the significant role women play in the evolution of basketball, showcasing how their style and self-expression are reshaping the sport’s culture.
At its core, the Heir Series embodies Jordan Brand’s belief that insights from women athletes can elevate all players. This philosophy is reflected in the shoe’s design, which emphasizes running and cutting—key elements of the women’s game that are increasingly recognized as essential for all basketball players.
In essence, the women’s game is inspiring young athletes worldwide to embrace basketball, and the Heir Series channels that inspiration into a performance-focused silhouette.
Rhyne Howard, a Jordan Brand athlete and guard for the Atlanta Dream, emphasizes this shift: “We’re witnessing a pivotal era for sports, especially women’s sports. This shoe allows us to leverage our understanding of how women play to create products that benefit all athletes and advance the sport.”
The Heir Series features a protective foam exterior layer paired with a drop-in Cushlon 3.0 midsole, designed for a low-to-the-ground feel that enhances flexibility during movement. A rubber herringbone traction pattern provides quickness and control, while an adaptive cage, inspired by the teamwork central to the women’s game, offers support and comfort, minimizing the risk of ankle injuries.
“I love how light and comfortable they are, and I feel well-supported when I run and cut,” says Jordin Canada, also a member of the Dream and the Jordan Brand roster. “It’s a fantastic shoe, and being part of a design created by women makes it even more special.”
The Heir Series also showcases bold colorways that celebrate the women’s game. The Main Character colorway embodies the confidence of female basketball fans and Jordan Brand athletes, featuring bright markings and an abstract animal print. The Her Collective design combines the favorite colors of each female athlete on the roster, while the YSY colorway offers a unique interpretation inspired by Jordan Brand athlete Yang Shuyu’s home country of China.
Kiki Rice shares her excitement: “Understanding that the Heir Series was designed with insights from women athletes is a testament to the changes happening in women’s basketball. Contributing to the design is something I truly value. The aesthetic and color blocking create a powerful narrative for advancing the women’s game.”
The Heir Series builds on Jordan Brand’s legacy of innovation, which includes the 1998 release of the women’s Air Jordan OG and numerous models tailored for Maya Moore. Recently, Player Editions for athletes like Kiki Rice and Kia Nurse have debuted, alongside extended sizing available for all Jordan Brand basketball footwear.
The Jordan Heir Series silhouette is now available globally at jordan.com and select retail locations. Embrace this new era in basketball and elevate your game with the Heir Series.
