On your wellness tips if you can help a lost soul on her wellness journey. What bone broth do you recommend? What red light therapy would you recommend for a newbie? Other recommendations for
-beef tallow moisturizer
-cotton underwear (been on the hunt for this)
-collagen powder
-gua shua
Thank you for answering! Love your blog!
i either make my own bone broth, or kettle & fire makes great clean bone broth.
for red light therapy, i got one for a decent price on amazon! it’s from the brand devowellte.
beef tallow moisturizer — i’m currently loving from the brand muskoka tallow.
cotton underwear — coucou intimates. temple studio. subset. q for quinn.
gua shua — any works. you can either do jade, rose quartz or stainless steel. i bought mine randomly one time off of well.ca. but i know amazon has a lot of them at affordable prices. even your local beauty store might carry it. i know even winner’s and marshall’s sells them if you have those stores where you live!
collagen powder — organika or garden of life grass fed collagen

Beauty tips?
Taking my vitamins and beauty supplements every day!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I believe that beauty and health go hand in hand so I got a complete blood work-up to figure out what vitamins and minerals my body was lacking, and I make sure I'm taking my them daily. On top of that, I take various supplements such as Collagen, Fish oil etc but I swear by my 10-gram daily collagen regimen. I take its powdered form right before going to bed and have noticed its benefits within a short time - My knees used to sound like a bowl of Rice Krispies when I bent down, but after a few days of collagen, the crepitus is gone. Plus, my hair is growing faster and my skin is looking plumper. It's done wonders for my joints, giving me a healthy glow, and making me look way more refreshed.
Having perfect posture at all times!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think this is a very simple but overlooked beauty tip that truly elevates your appearance. It's like the secret weapon of beauty, it can transform not just the way you look, but also the way you feel. When you stand tall and hold yourself with grace and poise, you radiate confidence and elegance. Good posture also has numerous health benefits. It can help prevent back pain, improve your breathing, and even boost your mood and energy levels. Ever since I've started incorporating Pilates and Ballet into my routine to build strength and flexibility, my posture has improved greatly. The way you carry yourself says a lot about who you are and by standing tall and confident, you'll not only look beautiful but also feel empowered and ready to conquer the world.
Getting 6 hours of quality sleep every night!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know what's a major beauty tip that most people sleep on? Sleep!! Forget about slapping on expensive creams and doing a gazillion steps in your skincare routine. You gotta start with the basics, hun. Get your sleep game on point, eat right, and manage your stress. Now, I know we all have different needs when it comes to sleep, so I won't give you a specific number. But trust me, beauty sleep is not a myth, it's legit! I turn on Night Mode on my devices at 6:30, pop my sleeping pills at 9:30, and hit the hay an hour later. Oh, and I'm not afraid to take a nap during the day if I need to. Don't underestimate the power of a good night's sleep. It's the secret to looking and feeling amazing.
Growing out my eyelashes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I take pride in my long and voluminous lashes, they're one of my best features and one of my most complimented features. However, my natural lashes were not always this way, they became longer through regular lash serum usage. I do not really need wear mascara and after a lash lift, my lashes appear as if I'm wearing extensions. While Latisse has worked wonders for me, it's important to note that the product does come with potential side effects such as orbital fat loss and irritation. Thankfully, I did not experience any adverse effects. Another caveat is that the product only works as long as it is used consistently. Despite these considerations, I wholeheartedly recommend Latisse. To see the results for yourself, check out the Real Woman Gallery.

Not gonna moan about the few physical issues bothering me this morning.
Nope, not today. Move aside whinger, make space for the winner......
Up and out for my hormone boosting morning walk. Just that 30 minutes out in the early light does SO much good. Sets me up for a good day, no matter what else happens.
Full winter protocol for the first time in a while. Ugh. Don't leave me, summer!!!
My usual "power up" breakfast back in the house, by the light of the big window.
Dessicated coconut
Sunflower/chia seeds
Seed protein powder (100% ground chia/sunflower seeds)
Cacao powder
Apple
Olive oil
Mixed up with boiled water
Coffee with collagen, creatine, inulin and coconut "milk".
Little stick of liquorice root
Then into our little home gym. I'm very fortunate to have the equipment at home, but you don't need stuff like this to get fitter, stronger and boost literally every part of your system inside and out! Bodyweight and resistance bands are incredible tools!
We all have different targets, goals, fitness levels, health concerns, etc.
My goal now is strength. Muscle endurance. Power.
For me, that means heavy weights.
Another pyramid structure with this session. Ending with the highest weight, working to failure.
Then a high knee sprint for that five interval finisher.
I had the ENT consultant appointment this afternoon, plus a few other chores while we were out in the car, so that was my only fitness for today.
But that was enough. I definitely put the work in for that hour!
Nice coconut cappucino treat at the hospital costa.
And yes, she gave me my THIRD nasal endoscopy. Oh, happy days 🤔😪.
It's mostly a psychological thing. She has recommended I talk to my GP about being referred for CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy). She has also given me a course of treatment to hopefully clear up the reflux.
She says I have mild reflux. But she believes the main problem might be my perceived reaction. The physical state, in terms of what's actually there, is not serious enough to incur my reaction to it.
The consultant was lovely. Really listened to me.
I remain optimistic and hopeful!

moringa powder is amazing for weight loss
okay normally i dont buy into natural remedies and stuff because most of them feel like scams but my local health foods store had moringa powder on offer a while ago and i decided to give it a little shot cuz it was £1.50
it is incredible. im not gonna sit here and tell you its magic and you will lose 20kg instantly while still pigging out on mcdonalds. but i take 1tsp morning and night, i mix it in with my green tea and a little honey cuz it tastes quite funky (a little like matcha but more bitter and vegetably) and it completely gets rid of any hunger pains or cravings i have
like do your own research on it if you're interested, it has tons of health benefits outside of wl, aids collagen production, good for hair and skin, can boost energy, joint health etc. some studies say it can also reduce fat formation and enhance fat breakdown but take that with a pinch of salt. if you are at all considering it though i would 100% recommend it

Pharmacist here 🙋🏻‍♀️
Collagen powders don't do anything because you digest them and that doesn't do much for your skin since you don't apply them topically
I recommend using different things to get that youthful, bouncy skin: make sure you use a retinol (to get the best result, get a tretnoin from your dermatologist, they're stronger) use a hydrating serum and ALWAYS use sunscreen
(I am not a doctor, please consult a derm if you have any skin issues and I know this is the most basic advice ever, but I promise consistency is the key)
thanks for clarifying bestie!

Collagen Supplement Supplements - Health
Tumblr media
A Youthful Boost: My Review of Collagen Supplement - Health
I've been using the Collagen Supplement - Health for a few months now, and I'm impressed with the results I've seen. As someone who prioritizes a healthy lifestyle, I'm always on the lookout for ways to support my body from the inside out. Collagen is a naturally occurring protein that plays a vital role in skin health, joint function, and overall well-being, and I was curious to see if supplementing could make a difference.
Easy Integration into My Routine
The first thing that appealed to me about this supplement was its ease of use. It comes in a convenient powder form that dissolves easily into my morning smoothie. There's no weird taste or texture, and it blends seamlessly with the other ingredients. This makes it a breeze to incorporate into my daily routine, which is essential for long-term consistency.
Noticeable Improvement in Skin Health
One of the most significant changes I've noticed is the improvement in my skin health. My skin feels more hydrated and plump, with a noticeable reduction in fine lines and wrinkles. I also get compliments on my complexion more often, which is always a confidence booster! While everyone's body reacts differently, I believe the collagen supplement has played a key role in giving my skin a more youthful appearance.
Supporting Joint Health and Mobility
Another benefit I've experienced is improved joint health and mobility. I used to have occasional stiffness, especially after exercise. Since incorporating the collagen supplement, that stiffness has become less frequent and less severe. It's much easier to move around freely and participate in my daily activities without discomfort. This is a significant advantage, especially as I age and want to maintain an active lifestyle.
A High-Quality Supplement I Trust
I appreciate that the Collagen Supplement - Health uses high-quality ingredients. The company provides clear information about the source and type of collagen used, which gives me peace of mind. Additionally, the supplement is free from common allergens and artificial additives, which is important to me.
Overall, a Positive Experience
Overall, I've had a very positive experience with the Collagen Supplement - Health. It's easy to integrate into my routine, delivers noticeable benefits for my skin and joints, and is made with high-quality ingredients. If you're looking for a natural way to support your overall health and well-being, I highly recommend giving this supplement a try. Just remember, consistency is key! It took a few months for me to see the full effects, so be patient and let your body reap the rewards.

Do you have recommendations for good brands of collagen?
My favorite brand is Great Lakes, but their prices have become completely insane over the last few years. Neocell is good. Gotta say I do NOT like Dr Axe's ancient nutrition collagen, although I love ancient apothecary oils. The last few times I bought collagen, I just got what was on huge discount through an Amazon discount group I'm in, so I haven't been very brand loyal since GL's prices skyrocketed. If you have a local bulk food store, they sometimes have more reasonable prices than health food stores. I'd recommend just doing a little reading into what kind of collagen might be best for you (I'm not terribly educated on them all) and go from there.
Also I've always done powders, not tablets or capsules. I have no idea if that makes a difference 😅

So, I had an allergic reaction a few days ago bcs a friend gave me food that had gluten in it ( she and I didn't know that). I am better now, and my doctor recommended that I drink collagen powder to help my skin a little... My God, this stuff tastes awful.

Ever since I first saw this post and went "uh, whut" and then "yeah, no, that makes sense, gotta be beef broth though" I've been wanting to try this, but summertime ain't the time for making broth, so yeah. Didn't get around to it until this weekend.
(My research online suggests that broth chocolated is primarily enjoyed by keto ladies who extol its health benefits. I'm not into that. I drink hot chocolate for pleasure, and pleasure alone.)
Based on beef bone broth, made with marrow bones, toasted tomato past, star aniseed, Tellicherry pepper, cayenne, bay leaves, onions and celery. Left out the garlic I'd have normally added bc although I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have shone through enough to interfere with the end product it just didn't feel right.
Mixed the finished broth with a small piece of dark chocolate, cocoa powder, milk, cream, sugar, and spiced it with cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg.
It was very good; rich, indulgent, with the broth adding excellent umami depths to the whole thing. 10+ hours to make a cup of hot chocolate is a long time, though, so I wouldn't recommend it unless you actually enoy making broth in the first place. I love it, so this whole thing was a delight. (I mean, you can buy ready made high quality broth, but to me that's just... not very sexy. Not sumptuous. Something a keto lady would do probably.)
I'm thinking you should be able to make the hot chocolate with bourbon and red wine for a cold season cocktail, which I might be trying later this week with the broth I've got left. Because of the high collagen and fat contents of bone broth, it's not suitable for cold drinks, which is a shame because I'm intrigued now.

Do You Know What to Avoid After Microneedling?
Microneedling is a popular and effective treatment for improving skin texture, reducing fine lines, and promoting collagen production. While the procedure itself is minimally invasive, proper aftercare is critical to ensure optimal results and minimize the risk of side effects. Knowing what to avoid after microneedling can help protect your skin and maximize the benefits of the treatment.
1. Avoid Sun Exposure
After microneedling, your skin is more sensitive to UV rays due to the micro-injuries created during the procedure. Sun exposure can lead to hyperpigmentation and slow down the healing process. Avoid direct sunlight for at least 48 hours, and always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher when going outside.
2. Say No to Makeup
Your skin’s barrier is temporarily compromised after microneedling, which makes it easier for bacteria and harmful substances to penetrate. Avoid applying makeup, especially foundation and powders, for 24-48 hours. This will reduce the risk of clogging pores and developing an infection.
3. Avoid Sweating and Intense Workouts
Sweat can irritate the skin and lead to discomfort or even infections during the healing process. Skip intense workouts, hot yoga, and saunas for at least 24-48 hours post-treatment. Opt for light activities that don’t cause excessive sweating.
4. Steer Clear of Harsh Skincare Products
Products with active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and vitamin C should be avoided for at least 5-7 days after microneedling treatment. These ingredients can irritate your skin and cause redness or peeling. Instead, stick to gentle, hydrating products recommended by your skincare provider.
5. Don’t Touch or Pick Your Skin
The micro-injuries caused by microneedling create a healing environment on your skin. Avoid touching your face unnecessarily, as it can introduce bacteria and cause infections. If you notice any flaking or peeling, resist the urge to pick at it. Let your skin heal naturally.
6. Skip Alcohol and Smoking
Both alcohol and smoking can dehydrate your skin and hinder its ability to heal properly. Avoid consuming alcohol and smoking for at least 48 hours post-treatment to support your skin’s recovery.
7. Avoid Swimming and Hot Baths
Pools, hot tubs, and even long hot baths can expose your skin to chlorine, bacteria, and heat, which can disrupt the healing process. Stick to lukewarm showers for the first few days after treatment.
By following these guidelines and avoiding potential irritants, you’ll allow your skin to heal properly and enjoy the full benefits of microneedling. For personalized advice, consult with your skincare professional to create an aftercare plan tailored to your needs.

Here goes another "detox day one", lol.
Today started a little better. I think the biggest "antagonist" was likely eggs. I cut them out when I got the allergy results.
Egg whites was the only thing high on both the allergy AND intolerance results.
It kicked in quite hard after breakfast, but it usually hits earlier than that.
Have to get the milk reaction out of my system now.
Got up and out for a lovely little morning walk. That half hour first thing from getting out of bed does me so much good.
New breakfast idea. Got a bit fancy with the few ingredients I have, that I'm still allowed to eat.
Chia seed protein powder, plus actual chia seeds, cacao powder, coconut "flour", mixed with olive oil. Apple, cinnamon and walnuts. Liquorice root.
I usually just have the apple and a bigger portion of nuts, but I felt like trying something a bit unusual.
Black coffee blended with more olive oil, collagen peptide powder and inulin.
Feels good to have breakfast outside. Autumn is almost here, but I'm going to enjoy the remains of good weather for as long as I can.
I got into sme fabulous weight training before lunch.
Upper body today.
Chest press, wide grip rows, bench pullovers and seated shoulder press.
I'm refocusing on strength. But still staying away from bicep work. Need to try keep the bulk to a minimum!
I ended with a brief "sprint interval". I'm researching different things, and this is the latest one to take my notice.
Just a few minutes of all-out effort to finish a strength session.
I'm all about Stacy Sims right now. Her tag line is "women are not little men". And sprint intervals are her recommendation for menopausal chicks like me.
I've been listening to podcasts with her over the last couple of weeks. Love her ethos!
And I started her book last night.
I'm on it, Stacy! New focus - Get strong. Get hormonally healthy. Get back to my best!
I used plank jacks for that "finisher" today.
Five fast intervals, longer rest intervals between. Oof. Yeah.
The end of that little vid? That's how full effort intervals are supposed to hit you!
Feel great! Definitely appreciated a nice coffee (insrsnt with oatmilk) and a bit of a chill before making lunch.
And it was a good lunch, of course.
Chicken and avocado salad with grapes.
Fresh ginger, paprika and turmeric.
Herbs and spices are so good for us. Full of beneficial polyphenols. And they taste great!
Another lovely walk. Longer this time. Forest trails with the boss-man 😊
Today has been pretty good all round.
If the combination of intolerances and allergens were the cause of the mucus problem, it's no doubt going to take a while for everything to clear out of my very clogged up system! Have to remain optimistic.
Good day for an average fast, food and fitness. Feel better than I have in quite a while!
