The Spider's Web; 9
Tumblr media
Huntsman and Goliath watched as Syntax checked and typed, then checked and typed rapidly at the main control of the mech. Numbers and coloured lines change and adjust with each new addition Syntax made. The younger male’s fingers were glowing as he worked, but unlike when he was at his computer, this was starting to become a strain.
Small projects were as easy as breathing for Syntax to blend magic and technology together, but something this big was new and a lot more complex. Normally, it would take a few days, but without the room for errors or mistakes, Syntax was focused on every minute and miniscule detail, writing new and rewriting old coding together slowly and carefully so that the mech could function as his Queen requested.
Seeing the younger male starting to struggle, Huntsman stepped closer, putting his hand to the younger male’s back and steadied him while shooting a web over to the wheel chair and yanking it closer. “Sit down kid, your leg is still sore even with the brace off.”
“I have to-”
“You can finish it sitting down.” Huntsman assured, cutting Syntax’s protest off. “Just sit. The generators are right behind you, you just have to sit down and keep your focus.”
Syntax took a moment to finish one last line of code before letting Huntsman guide him into the chair, then got right back to his task, his fingers and eyes shining as he reached back with his spider limbs and jabbed the tips of each limb into the generators. The same green glow that danced at Syntax’s fingertips began to shine from where his spider limb swerve attached to the generators as both began to hum and churn as if active, feeding their power into Syntax so that he could use it to better stabilise the magic he was using, and within seconds, the strain of the task seemed to rapidly lessen and allow Syntax a moment to catch his breath.
Huntsman stepped back with Goliath, knowing if they got too close, the delicate flow of magic and technology could arc and accidentally shock them in the same way electricity could arc and jump between two points.
“Nine hours.” The younger male said quietly, running some calculations in his head then asked. “How many generators do we have?”
“These are the only ones that can move, the others are the ones that power the city.” Goliath explained, referring to the city’s main grid power blocks that Syntax had hotwired and delicate syphoning cable into  to power the lights in the lair.
“I stuck a web onto them for late-”
“Attach me to them now.” Syntax said, and extended his lower limbs back towards Huntsman to attach the webs too. “These two cut the time down by three hours, the bigger ones will also cut down the time even more.”
“Can you handle it?” Goliath asked, worried about the consequences that could bring upon Syntax. “You’ve said before that too much at once will hurt you.”
“If it gets this done faster, I’ll manage the consequences for being reckless for a few days.” Syntax assured and formed his visor over his eyes and pushed more of his woven magic into his hands, forming a seal around his palms to use more magic then he normally would. “Do it.”
“Alright.” Huntsman nodded and with a well aimed flick of his wrist, attached the ends of the webbing he had brought with him to each of Syntax’s lower limbs. “Your webbed. I’ll go tell the Queen you’re on the task.”
At Goliath’s nod, Huntsman headed out, knowing that Syntax was in good hands.
The shift in power was visible, Syntax’s spider limbs began to shiver and tremble as small arch of magical energy arched and jumped between his upper and lower limbs, creeping towards his back and then over his shoulders and around his arms, coiling like snakes around and around until they vanished into the seals at his palms, increasing the seals sizes until the two merged into a much bigger one beneath both his palms.
“Kid?” Goliath called out.
“I got it.” Syntax assured through gritted teeth. “Just… Stay still.” He warned and pushed his hands flat against the console he was seated at, forcing himself to stand back up, sending surges of electricity and magic dancing along the surface and then down into the mech itself.
“Transfiguration technological transformations is the art of taking magic and weaving it through the technological holes and gasps in a machine’s power supply. Making electrical current into an insulation and using ourselves as a living conductor of the non-living technology and the natural magic of the world.”
“It's a little easier for us, as we have this kind of magic in our blood, so it's a little less straining, but you must still be careful. Everything comes with a consequence in life and this is no different, using yourself thai way for too long, or for too much power at once can rob you of some of your senses, or worse, it can scar your skin. You must always be aware and respectful of your body’s limits and the limits of your borrowed power.”
Goliath heard Syntax mumbling as the mech around them began to groan, shudder and rumble. As if it were shifting its weight around, screens and panels on the walls beginning the glitch, change and then move, breaking down and changing into something new.
Syntax gritted his teeth as the mech shifted and reshaped itself around him, glitching and deconstructing itself as the seal under his hands slowly spiraled in a counterclockwise motion. Closing his eyes behind his visor, he pictured the two blueprints he’d been looking over for the last few hours, one of them his own design, the other ancient and older than he’d care to think. His design needed to function the way the old blueprints specified and to do that, he needed to rework and reshape key things inside the mech he’d designed.
Syntax continued to mumble to himself, recalling the very first lesson his parents and later his Nana had taught him when he first started using his ability. Walking himself through the old lessons the way he always did when he took on any new task, keeping himself rooted in the process and not getting lost in the possibilities of failure or success.
“The key to success is to know what you want before you start. Learn how things are made and how they work, take them apart in your mind and mix what works with magic to improve what is already there. Replace heat coils with the elemental magic of fire, replace coolant with water, mix fuel with lightning. Combine magic with machine using the one thing that both share, when you have a design in mind and a path to follow with process, take a moment to check, just one last time, that everything you have done, everything that you know is right and that everything will flow together the way it should.”
The mech shuddered one last time and for a moment, Syntax felt the power around him still suddenly, nothing moved, nothing sparked, nothing trembled or groaned. The two blueprints in his mind overlaid each other slowly, and he looked at the unified image one last time.
“Then, it’s all a matter of power and energy. Use your own energy or the energy of the things around you, and make it. Do whatever you have to do to turn what you see into what is, even if it leaves you a little breathless and a little dishevelled, as long as the result is what you want, it’s worth the mess and aches.  As our family moto says-”
“In for a penny,” he said and pulled on every ounce of power he could reach around him, ripping everything the generators had to offer him and pushing it into the mech with full confidence and certainty that the result would be a success. “In for a pound.” The seal rapidly began to spin clockwise and the mech practically vibrated with new found purpose and power as it shifted and changed, transforming around him in accordance to his designs.
It took all of a minute and then, Syntax dared to open his eyes. And regretted it as his body chose that moment to betray him and he felt himself fall.
He never hit the ground.
“I got ya.” Goliath assured, and Syntax took a moment to realise he’d lost all sensation to his body, not just a bout of numbness making it hard for him to use his body, an utter and complete loss of his sense of touch. He was left feeling like he was floating, drifting somehow, utterly weightless and unable to control his own body. Goliath was holding him like he was a child, cradled in one arm, Syntax’s arms neatly placed over his own stomach and his head resting against the bigger male’s shoulder and held steady by Goliath’s other hand to avoid his head lolling around and hurting his neck.
It was dark now, had he blown one of the generators by taking too much?
“You tripped the whole powergrid, I think. Lights should be up again soon.” The bigger male said. “You didn’t fry anything, and you didn’t get tossed back. Everything is on and the mech is making a faint humming sound.”
“It’s done.” Syntax said, and wasn’t shocked to find his voice was cracked, horse and raw, as if he’d spent the last hour or so screaming even though he knew, he’d not made a sound beyond reciting his lesson and his family’s motto. “The Queen…”
“I already sent word along the webs. Rest now kid, I got ya.” The bigger male assured again. “You’re safe.”
Unable to fight the darkness creeping over him, Syntax let his eyes close as the world seemed to spin suddenly. He was aware he was being moved, but sounds faded away to barely anything the longer his body was without sensation.
“You expect me to believe your ice cursed man has the Six Eared Macaque under his thumb?” The Queen questioned sharply, looking down at the relics the girl had brought with her. “Little Miss Mystery, I don’t think you realise just how old I am. That monkey only answers to himself, the only exception to that are those to whom he owes favours too. And last time I checked, he isn’t the type to somehow end up indebted to a mortal, much less a cursed one.”
There was no way that man had any power over the Shadow monkey. No matter how powerful he might be, that man was just a puppet, a tool used by the real threat, the man had no power beyond what was lent to him from his mistress.
The only thing stopping the Spider Queen out right calling the girl out was the fact she knew just how painful possession could be for a host when the one controlling them was as old and as powerful as the Bone Demon. There was a child in the middle of this mess who was at great risk, an unwilling pawn in a game they shouldn’t ever be involved in and if the Queen wasn’t careful, then it would be that child who suffered the fall out.
“The Shadow Monkey and his debt is not my concern, nor is it yours.” The girl said, her voice tight as she tried to move the topic onwards. “What matters is that with these relics, you are closer than ever to your Destiny.”
“And what, exactly, is my destiny, little miss?” The Queen asked. “Because from where I’m standing, you’ve not given much indication that your abilities as a Seer are as grand and precise as you claim them to be.”
The power suddenly went out around them, plunging them into a cold blue light as the glow of the furnace became the only light source in the room. The tension between the two women seemed to only grow in that dim light, especially as the sudden darkness seemed to bring with it a familiar icy chill. One filled with an air of confidence and assurance of a victory while the other stood resolute and willing to do whatever it took to survive this encounter.
“My Queen!” Goliath called out, and they both turned to see him enter the space just as the lights flickered and flashed back on. He looked worried as he carried Syntax in the crock of his arm, the younger male limp and unresponsive.
“Bring him to me.” The Queen instructed, gently checking the young male over. He wasn’t hurt in any way, no burns or stiffness to his hands, no blood and no bleeding, but she noticed he was not responding to her touch at all.
“What has happened to the scientist?” The girl questioned.
“He was at his computer, looking for demons we could grab to fuel the mech and keep the heat up. He said he’d found someone right before the power cut out and he fell limp.” The bigger male quickly lied as the Spider Queen pressed a hand to Syntax’s chest, her palm closing a faint green as she checked her youngest clansman.
“The surge from the cut off has overwhelmed him.” The Queen said, calmly and assuredly after a few minutes of tense silence. “He’s unconscious and will likely remain that way until his body has overcome the overwhelmed sensation.”
“Then with your permission I can-”
“You can wait until my Clansman is well again.” The Queen said firmly as she looked at the girl, cutting her off. “I will not abandon my clan to suffer for you to show off some cheap fanfare. Destiny can wait.” She stated and did not wait to hear any response the girl might give, instead she led Goliath out of the room.
Or, she tried to leave the room.
“Destiny has waited long enough.” The girl stated as a terribly familiar scream tore through the air as ice began to form around them.
“Huntsman!?” Goliath called out.
“I am no longer in need of his services.” The girl said as her hair turned white and her eyes shone a chilling blue. “Hand over the scientist, and this will be somewhat less painful for all of you.”
Everything was dark, the scream sounded close by and the ribbon from his staff had faded away. The temperature dropped rapidly and he shivered, curling his arms around himself to try and stay warm.
“Oh, no, no, not good.” He muttered to himself, trying to repeat the trick Auntie had told him, only for the staff to remain ribbonless. “Oh come on!”
Another scream and a loud thud as something, or someone was thrown into a wall, and then from deeper underground, almost like it were below them, the sounds of a battle. “What’s going on down there?”
Before any answer could come MK felt the familiar feeling of a shadow swallowing him from beneath his feet and let out a shocked yell as he went cartwheeling and tumbling through the darkness until his head hit a metal floor.
Hard.
“Mreow!”
“What is it, Mo- MK!?” Sandy’s voice cried in panic. “What happened?!”
He had just enough time to realise that he was coming head first out of a shadow portal and landed on Sandy’s boat, right before his world went dark.
“Run!” The Queen ordered Goliath as she and the girl clashed violently.
Goliath hated himself for it. Hated that his body was forced to obey the orders of his Queen, but with Syntax’s limp form in his arms and given him the order, the instinct to protect had taken over.
So he ran, slinging webs behind him to slow any pursuer and threw himself forwards, keeping Syntax tucked close to his chest as he traversed the tunnels with ease. The icy chill of the air was getting worse and the shadows seemed to try and reach out to him, trying to catch his legs and trip him as he kept running, jumping and climbing to get away.
“You will not escape Destiny, little spiders.” A distant voice echoed around him as ice formed in front of him, forcing him to scramble up a different tunnel way, only for more ice to begin to form ahead of him, blocking his way.
He kept Syntax’s still limp form close to his chest, trying to give him warmth as the ice got closer and closer, trapping them in a small alcove.
“Goliath!” Huntsman’s voice and then, the ice in front of Goliath shattered as the older male crashed through the ice, his knives glinting and his eyes bright with power. Goliath didn’t dare to question it, as something behind Huntsman shattered and broke apart. “Keep going. Head for the surface and get away from the city.”
“But the Queen-”
“I’ll get the Queen, you get him out of here.” Huntsman ordered, sharply and Goliath realised that Huntsman was bigger now, bigger than him and-
“My, my! I must say I did not expect you to survive my first attack!” The chilling voice of the man who called himself ‘Mayor’ mockingly praised as he stepped from the frosty shadows. A flickering lantern at his hip and an unnatural white glow to his eyes.
“Goliath; Get the kid out of here and protect him.” Huntsman ordered, with more force and authority behind his words as he looked at Syntax for all of a moment. “By the Queen’s orders, you have your duty.”
Goliath nodded and ducked under Huntsman’s limbs, scrambling over the ice and took off running again.
“You are certainly full of surprises for such an old spider.” Mayor chuckled. “A Prince hidden amongst the lowly rank of the peasantry, very clever. Very clever indeed. But it shall not save you or your Queen from your fates.”
“You will find Spiders are very good at challenging destiny, Bone slave.” Huntsman snarled as old magic began to pulse and surround him, “And so long as I breathe, you will not find easy prey in our kin.”
“We’ll see about that.” The man grinned as magic just as old and ice danced around him.

RTD PT-100 and Syphon: Precision and Protection in Industry
RTD PT-100 and Syphon: Essential Components in Industrial Temperature Measurement
In modern industrial environments, precise temperature measurement is critical for maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring product quality, and safeguarding equipment. Among the most commonly used devices for accurate temperature sensing are RTDs (Resistance Temperature Detectors), particularly the PT-100 type, which is known for its reliability and precision. Additionally, another key component used in temperature measurement systems is the syphon, which helps protect sensitive instruments from high temperatures and pressure surges. This article delves into the importance of RTD PT-100 sensors and syphons, highlighting their roles and applications in industrial temperature measurement.
Tumblr media
What is an RTD PT-100?
An RTD PT-100 is a type of temperature sensor that operates on the principle of resistance change with temperature. Specifically, PT-100 refers to a platinum-based sensor that has a resistance of 100 ohms at 0°C. As the temperature increases, the resistance of the platinum element increases in a predictable manner. This property makes platinum an ideal material for precision temperature measurement due to its stable and linear resistance-to-temperature relationship over a wide range.
Key Features of PT-100 RTDs:
Accuracy: PT-100 sensors are highly accurate, with an accuracy typically ranging from ±0.1°C to ±0.5°C, depending on the class and design.
Temperature Range: These sensors can measure temperatures from -200°C to +850°C, making them versatile for various applications.
Stability: Platinum’s resistance properties are stable over time, ensuring long-term reliability and repeatability in measurements.
Linear Response: PT-100 sensors provide a nearly linear response to temperature changes, simplifying calibration and interpretation of results.
Durability: Platinum is a robust material that can withstand harsh environments, including extreme heat, cold, and corrosive conditions.
Applications of PT-100 RTDs:
RTD PT-100 sensors are widely used in industries such as chemical processing, oil and gas, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems. They are commonly installed in reactors, boilers, pipelines, and other critical equipment where temperature monitoring is essential for maintaining product quality, safety, and energy efficiency.
The Role of a Syphon in Temperature Measurement
A syphon is a protective device used in conjunction with pressure gauges, sensors, and other instruments to shield them from extreme temperatures and pressure fluctuations. In temperature and pressure measurement applications, syphons are often installed between the process line and the measurement instrument, acting as a barrier that prevents direct exposure to hot steam or fluids.
How a Syphon Works:
The syphon typically consists of a coiled or looped tube that traps a small amount of the process fluid (usually steam or gas) as it enters the system. This trapped fluid cools down in the tube, preventing the hot steam or gas from reaching the sensitive measuring instrument. By doing so, the syphon prolongs the lifespan of the instrument and ensures accurate readings even in high-temperature environments.
Key Benefits of Using a Syphon:
Instrument Protection: By isolating sensitive equipment from hot steam and pressure surges, syphons prevent damage to RTDs, thermometers, pressure gauges, and transmitters.
Improved Accuracy: Instruments that are protected from extreme conditions provide more reliable and consistent measurements.
Extended Lifespan: Syphons help reduce wear and tear on temperature sensors and pressure gauges, extending their operational life and reducing maintenance costs.
Versatility: Syphons can be used with a wide range of instruments, making them suitable for applications in industries such as power generation, oil refining, chemical production, and HVAC systems.
Combining RTD PT-100 and Syphon for Optimal Temperature Measurement
When used together, the RTD PT-100 and syphon offer a robust solution for accurate and reliable temperature measurement in demanding industrial environments. The PT-100 provides precise temperature readings, while the syphon protects the sensor from potential damage caused by high temperatures and pressure fluctuations. This combination is especially useful in steam applications, such as boilers and turbines, where both temperature and pressure can reach extreme levels.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the RTD PT-100 and syphon are indispensable components in industrial temperature measurement systems. While the PT-100 ensures accurate and stable temperature readings, the syphon provides crucial protection against high temperatures and pressure surges. Together, these components enable industries to maintain safe and efficient operations, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure the longevity of their equipment.

What are the Different Types of Syphon Tubes?
Syphon tubes play a crucial role in various industries, particularly in applications where the measurement and control of liquids and gases are essential. As a leading syphon tubes manufacturer, we understand the importance of these components and the need to educate our audience about the different types available in the market.
Understanding Syphon Tubes
Before delving into the different types of syphon tubes, it's important to understand their basic function and purpose. Syphon tubes, also known as pigtail syphons, are used to protect pressure instruments from the effects of high temperatures. They are designed to isolate the pressure gauge from the process media, thereby preventing damage to the gauge due to exposure to extreme heat or corrosive materials.
Types of Syphon Tubes
1. U-Shaped Syphon Tubes
U-shaped syphon tubes are one of the most common types used in industrial applications. They are characterized by their simple yet effective design, which consists of a U-shaped bend in the tube. This design allows for the trapping of a liquid seal that acts as a barrier between the process media and the pressure instrument. U-shaped syphon tubes are suitable for a wide range of applications and are known for their reliability and durability.
2. Coil Syphon Tubes
Coil syphon tubes, as the name suggests, feature a coiled design that provides increased surface area for heat dissipation. This design is particularly beneficial in applications where high-temperature processes are involved. The coiled configuration allows for efficient cooling of the process media before it reaches the pressure instrument, thereby protecting the instrument from potential damage.
3. Pigtail Syphon Tubes
Pigtail syphon tubes are characterized by their unique pigtail-shaped configuration, which provides enhanced protection against the effects of pulsation and pressure fluctuations. This type of syphon tube is often preferred in applications where the process media exhibits erratic flow patterns or sudden pressure changes. The pigtail design helps to dampen these fluctuations, ensuring accurate and reliable pressure measurements.
4. Diaphragm Seal Syphon Tubes
Diaphragm seal syphon tubes are designed to work in conjunction with diaphragm seals, which are used to protect pressure instruments in highly corrosive or viscous process media. The syphon tube acts as a barrier between the diaphragm seal and the process media, ensuring that the seal remains intact and functional. This type of syphon tube is essential in applications where the integrity of the diaphragm seal is critical to the overall process.
Conclusion
Syphon tubes by Instrumxx Industries are available in various types, each designed to address specific challenges and requirements in industrial applications. As a reputable syphon tubes manufacturer, we are committed to providing high-quality solutions that meet the diverse needs of our customers. By understanding the different types of syphon tubes and their respective advantages, businesses can make informed decisions when selecting the most suitable components for their pressure instrumentation systems.

pay the man.
Shimura dreams of Hatori. Takahashi is unable to help him.
CW: death, vomit / vomiting, car accident, gore ( relatively tame description ), angst, general sad boy shit
Paper pages fluttering together within the well-maintained, hardcover body of a book. The scent of mahogany and cedar and hickory. Clipped, warm laughter. Suit jacket sleeves brushing up against one another. Brewing coffee in a Syphon. Flashes of teeth in a wide grin. Lips fitting around silent words, arched with fondness. Leather Bergere chairs. Half empty beer glasses. Gently ravenous brown eyes. A mole placed just underneath a full lower lip. Crunching autumn leaves. A cartoonish black cat punctuated with an exaggerated frown: a sad cat.
More pages, this time bearing coiled, pretty penmanship rather than typed print. Hints of those same pages, through smell, sight, or audio, omnipresent throughout the brief snapshots. Shimura can taste the combined scents on the back of his tongue, threatening to choke him with either comfort or malice; he is no longer certain of which is prevalent. Regardless, they are overpowering, rendering him helplessly flat on his back and accompanying a one-word mantra: Hatori, Hatori, Hatori, Hatori, Hatori, Hatori.
The smells collapse to the bitter taste of fear, the same fear that enacted Hatori’s death sentence. Concern for his own well-being. Concern for the well-being of his wife and children. The nausea chasing the realization that it is not mere numbers being added together, it is not concrete, lifeless statistics, but actual people with lives beyond their occupations being murdered. The stifling reality of rejection that had been with him since his earliest memories. Simple impulsivity. The sheer depth of Hatori’s mortal terror following the moments before his outburst until his death hours later would never be truly known by anyone but himself, alone in that as he had been alone in every other crisis.
The taste is once again odor. A portion of the stench is permanently embedded into the fabric of Shimura’s couch, where Hatori spent his last conscious moments. He remembers the man’s incessant trembling well, his gasps and hitches of breath, his eyes, typically so clear and telling, red and clouded with swollen tears. He remembers the wet of those tears seeping into the shoulder of his shirt, his own endless stream of apologies just barely damming the flood. He remembers Hatori’s forced speechlessness, his trachea too overrun with strangled hiccups to allow any semblance of air to pass. He remembers being thankful for his inability to see Hatori’s face; his bleeding heart would have been entirely unable to bear the brunt of his misery.
Now, Shimura’s heart aches, and aches, and aches, worse than it ever could have that evening.
Next comes the image of Hatori’s car, a small, royal blue thing of monetary value less than his status would otherwise indicate. The image presented to Shimura’s internal eye, however, does not depict a vehicle - he only knows that is what the mangled mess of metal, glass, and rubber once was. It had been thoroughly decimated by a large semi engaged in a wayward, rapid left turn, crushing the artificial extension of Hatori’s body nearly on impact. The precious core never had any semblance of chance.
While expected, Shimura never could have properly prepared for his coworker’s scripted death, written into play by Higuchi’s damning hand just as easily as Hatori’s own crafted calligraphy. He glimpsed the horrific wreckage on the local news later that night, the photograph forever embedding itself into his visual memory as the victim’s name was announced. A pit formed deep in his stomach as he grotesquely observed the front end practically folding in on itself, the vehicle compacted into something half its original size. The glass of the windshield had been largely thrown inwards and Shimura can’t help but pray that Hatori was killed immediately, before the glass was able to impale him. The possibility that he died in debilitating agony, sobbing and bleeding and alone, is too much for Shimura to bear.
Abruptly, the flashback ends, and the driver’s side of Hatori’s disfigured little car comes into view. Glass from the windows is scattered throughout the street, leaving them open for viewing save for sparse clumps of material clinging to their now misshapen borders. Shimura, totally disembodied as he is, as if observing through a camera lens, begins to drift involuntarily forward to peer inside.
As he gradually nears the wreckage, panic and nausea bloom in his distant stomach. The gaping, crooked mouths of the crushed windows draw him ever closer and he knows that they will swallow him alive if presented with the opportunity. He loses the privilege of coherent thought as their individual glass teeth become stark against the car’s interior.
Within the mutilated corpse of the vehicle, pinned to the driver’s seat with needles of windshield glass, lies Hatori’s shell of a body. His clothing is unspeakably disheveled and pierced through in places. Superficial lacerations are gored into the expanse of his visible skin, most with glass embedded within / nearby. His head is dipped forward, hair shaggy enough from months without trim to conceal all but the tip of his nose. There is rusty, crusted blood threaded through the stark white and gray.
Hatori’s lips cannot be seen, but they begin to move. There is no other reasonable explanation, despite his horrible stillness, to explain why his voice can now be heard.
“You didn’t ask me to stay. I know how much you wanted to. You know I wouldn’t have fought you. You knew all along.” There is no hum of incoming traffic, no noise whatsoever. “You never even tried to save me. You knew how. You could have prevented this. At your house, it would have taken two words. At my last meeting, it would have taken a few sentences, a minuscule amount of discussion. You just didn’t care enough to pursue it.” A beat. “Your cowardice killed me. You killed me. You are the reason I will never see thirty-five. You are the reason my children will grow up without a father. You are the reason I will never see them become teenagers. You are the reason my father will pretend to grieve at my funeral. You are the reason…” The statements become a non sequitur, endless and merciless, penetrating to the core of Shimura’s being. “I hate you. I hate you. Murderer. Murderer. Murderer, murderer, murderer, murderer, murderer –- "
Shimura wakes with a jolt, a hiccup catching in his throat, tears coursing down his face, cold sweat sheeting his body, and bile exploding up his throat.
He bolts from the bed and into the adjoining bathroom. Falling heavily to his knees, he jerks the toilet seat up, hardly managing to duck his head quickly enough for yesterday’s chymified meals to plummet into the bowl. Retches wrack his frame as he sobs wetly, attempting to choke on his noises to prevent waking Eiichi or ( God forbid ) Haru. His hands, palms slick with sweat and freezing to the touch, shakily clutch the rim of the toilet bowl, lungs drawing in unstable breaths as he forces his body to partially calm. The stifled sobbing does not cease, his shoulders hunching and his esophagus aflame, face all but oozing with an unflattering mixture of sweat, mucus, and tears.
Suddenly, there is a tentative hand upon his tense shoulder, and Shimura knows that he has failed.
Takahashi smooths Shimura’s clumped bangs back from his damp forehead on a reflex born from repeating the same motion for his daughter countless times. The hand placed previously over his shoulder dips to rub gentle circles into the small of his back and Takahashi’s soft hip bumps up Shimura’s arm.
The man heaves pathetically, simultaneously plummeting deeper into his personal pit of self-loathing and struggling to refrain from allowing Eiichi to simply take him into his arms and set everything right ( as if anything could ever truly be right for them ever again ). Bile drips from his lips into the clouded water. He rasps for breath, haggard and pale and frigid, as his body finally appears to still.
“Bad dream?” Takahashi inquires softly, as if he has not yet tired of parroting the same question over and over on numerous nights just like this one. The hand previously pinning Shimura’s bangs snakes down to rest lightly over his belly, encircling his midsection.
Shimura merely nods - Takahashi is thoroughly acquainted with the regular subject of his nightmares by now, or at least the only one that consistently pushes him to tears and vomit. He edges marginally closer to the other man’s thigh, placing their bodies side by side.
“Mm.” Takahashi goes up briefly onto his knees to tenderly set the toilet seat down, flushing the bowl’s contents. He wastes no time in settling back beside Shimura, returning his arms to their loose, secure configuration. “Want some mouthwash? Water?”
“Y-Yes. Thank you.” Shimura’s words are croaked and cracked, his throat caustic with bile and emotion. Fresh tears drop to his chin, his sniffling undoubtedly obnoxious and wet and his chest fluttering shallowly with breaths he cannot yet control, but the unmanageable sobbing has quieted.
Takahashi guides the other carefully to his feet, bodily supporting him by draping an arm over his waist. Shimura’s fingers grip the fabric of his shirt, tremulous and unthinking. He simply pads along with Takahashi to the nearby sink, hands falling from their place as Takahashi administers a cap full of mouthwash. He gargles and spits, focusing on slowing his breathing, before he is given a small cup tap water. Nodding his thanks, he swallows before returning the cup to its place upon the rim of the sink. Exhaling shakily, he reaches to switch the faucet on, splashing distractedly at his already clammy face before toweling himself dry. Once he feels that he has sufficiently washed up, he finally shifts his attention fully to Takahashi, whose features are all but alight with anxiety and concern. The vestibules of shame encapsulating Shimura’s heart threaten to crawl up his raw throat.
“Do you need anything else?” Takahashi’s tone is soft, pliable, almost apprehensive, as if he is afraid of misspeaking. Shimura merely shakes his head, swallowing the palpable lump in his throat. Even though he has startled and woken the man an inexcusable number of times with the violent reactions to his mental torment, Takahashi is always in fear of somehow upsetting him further, as if he isn’t the one saving grace he has on nights such as these.
“No. I… It’s alright. Let’s go back to bed.” The statement tilts at its tail end, as if in question, but Shimura’s fingers dart decisively to Takahashi’s palm. The other man seems to hesitate, his eyes near frantically scanning over Shimura’s torso, but he nods unneeded assent. This time, he allows Shimura to lead him back into the bedroom, his fingertips lightly embedded into his palm.
They settle underneath the recently disturbed comforter, Shimura pressing his shoulders back to Takahashi’s chest as the man curls around him. Large arms gently wrap over his stomach. The nape of his neck is timidly nuzzled. He begins to physically relax for the first time in what feels to be hours.
Minutes composed solely of silence drift lazily by as Shimura wills himself thoughtless and Takahashi struggles not to fidget, mentally debating the best course of action. The last thing he wishes to do is prod inappropriately; he knows all too well the only subject capable of reducing his housemate to such hysterics.
“Do you want to talk about… him? H-Hatori or the dream? I don’t mind listening. Or trying to help.” It had taken him an eternity to rediscover his voice since the events that stole it from him, and yet how easy it is to relapse into muteness each time his nerves threaten to overtake him.
Shimura is silent for several seconds, but remains still; Takahashi does not panic, as he has not propelled him into another fit.
He inhales, the area between his shoulder blades nudging into Takahashi’s sternum. “I appreciate it, I really do. But it’s alright. Whenever I… dream about him, it tends to be the same thing, over and over again. This one was nothing new. Don’t worry.” He is thankful for Takahashi’s inability to see his face, for his inability to see the depth of his lie.
On every occasion such as this, Takahashi tries to coax Shimura to talk, even just a phrase or two, but his efforts consistently prove fruitless.
Simply put, Shimura does not deserve to talk, not after the role his hand played in Hatori’s death. He does not deserve any form of relief, does not deserve to have another to help bear the brunt of his cross, does not deserve Takahashi’s selflessness. Nothing Takahashi offers is his to take, nor should it be; his exclusive purpose was to provide Takahashi and his daughter with a life better than the one that was stripped from them. His sole obligation is to contribute to maintaining Takahashi’s hold on his indecisive voice and provide Haru with everything her weary, solicitous heart could ever desire. He no longer deserves to live for himself, not with the lost life he would be debasing by doing so. Hatori deserves better.
Takahashi’s cautious doubt is thick because he knows, knows that he is being lied to and that Shimura is not telling him something, but he has never been one for prying into matters that he is clearly intended to keep away from. His voice fails him just as it had all those months ago, reduced to holding the other man close to his chest and pressing his forehead into his dark hair in a meaningless ( desperate ) endeavor to ward off any more thoughts of Hatori from his brain. He does not deserve to be haunted as he was by his ghost.
Shimura yawns, careless and unbothered, something that Takahashi knows he is not.
“Let’s go back to sleep. I’m sorry for waking you up.” He longs to be able to honestly say that this will not happen again. “Haru has school tomorrow.”
“Right. You’re right.”
Takahashi’s heart aches, and aches, and aches.

Different types of thermometer and how to buy the best one
Industrial instruments like Tridicator and thermocouple are significantly important and help in measurement of temperature, altitude as well as pressure. Along with it, Thermowell is also quite a handy device and helps in saving or protecting temperature sensors installed in various industrial processes. The device is also popular for inserting the temperature sensing element and making the helping in the creation of pressure in the tightly attached vessel. The device is used in combination with industrial thermometer, which basically helps in measurement of temperature in various industrial applications. Here’s a look at different types of thermometers that are used in industrial process –
Gas filled or liquid thermometers - Such thermometers are quite common and make use of gas or liquid as an element of sensing when at the time of measuring the temperature. The phenomenon is quite simple and the liquid expands or its level goes up as the temperature increases of decreases. The liquid is in the form of mercury or alcohol and as the heat passes through it, the liquid or gaseous material increases its capillary which indicated or shows the temperature.
Bimetal thermometers - With this type of thermometer, the temperature sensing element is in the form of bimetal spring. The spring coil is generally made up of two types of metal that are in bonded or fastened together. Materials like brass, copper as well as steel are some type of metal that can be chosen to manufacture industrial glass thermometer. The important consideration is that one metal should be less sensitive to heat while the other one should have high heating sensitivity. Bi-metal are low cost and durable and provide easy installation facility as well as accuracy over different range of temperatures.
Things to consider before buying an industrial thermometer-
·         Make sure the thermometer that you are opting for displays the Fahrenheit, Celsius as well as centigrade, along with glass and wooden windows for suitable viewing.
·         When buying a thermometer you should look for stem material in the form of aluminum, brass or stainless steel. You should also look to get sure about stem adjustments and make sure it comes with adjustable features.
·         Whether you are buying a pressure gauge Syphon or a thermometer, it becomes important that you get sure about the operating temperature that your device will go through. Maximum vibration and shock value should also be kept in mind and then only thermometer should be bought.

A device to measure Temperature
Tumblr media
There are various types of thermometers
The bimetal thermometer measures by warm extension. It involves a bi-metal spring as a temperature detecting component. This innovation utilizes a curl spring made of two distinct sorts of welded or attached metals. These metals could include copper, steel, or metal. One should have low hotness awareness, while the other metal should have high responsiveness. Whenever the welded strip is warmed, the two metals change length in light of their singular paces of warm development. Since the two metals extend to various heights, the bimetallic strip is compelled to curve or twist towards the side with a lower coefficient of generous extension.
Benefits of Bimetal Thermometer
The development of the strip is utilized to divert a pointer over an aligned scale which then, at that point, shows the temperature to the client. Their product is essential yet rough. The benefit is its moderately minimal expense and robust plan.
Bimetal thermometers are utilized in various ventures in their cycle control, such as compound, oil and gas, refining, mash and paper, power, and energy and water-wastewater businesses and machine building.
A remote Reading Thermometer is utilized for estimating the temperature of the destructive and non-destructive liquid in all ventures. It works in a forceful and non-forceful climate. Direct dials and temperature remunerate lines to guarantee an exact temperature sign at different surrounding conditions.
These thermometers give a dependable and precise perusing of the interaction when a distant measurement of temperature is essential.
Thermometers ought to be checked and changed consistently.
To test your thermometer:
The first step is to put ice in a tall glass and add some water.
Now stop and hold the thermometer in the ice water for around 30 seconds without contacting the sides or lower part of the glass.
Assuming the thermometer is a dial thermometer, permit 1-2 minutes for temperature alignment.
On the off chance that the thermometer peruses 32°F, it  is perusing accurately and can be utilized.
What is Syphon?
A Syphon is a cylinder twisted to shape two legs of varying lengths. A fluid can be moved to a lower level over a transitional height by the strain of the climate in driving the liquid up the more limited part of the cylinder submerged in it. In contrast, the overabundance of the weight of the fluid in the more extended branch, when filled, causes a persistent stream.
The two most regular kinds of siphons are:
Pigtail siphons: They are intended for vertical funneling setups.
Coil siphons: They are intended for vertical or even applications and have a slight plunge tuned in a plan to accommodate the caught water in a flat position.
Siphons are a minimal expense and are regularly presented in carbon steel, tempered steel, or metal. Siphon materials have compared temperature and strain evaluations. This is significant while picking the right direction for your application. Siphons are evaluated with the most highly suitable working tension. This connects to the material of the siphon and the timetable divider thickness of the siphon. Select painstakingly founded on your interaction.
Conclusion
Thus we presume that a thermometer is a gadget that assists with estimating the temperature inclination or temperature of individuals by following a few standards. Advanced thermometers are the created form of a mercury thermometer. They offer quickly and exact outcomes, are eco well disposed, and only one can utilize them.

What are Pressure Gauge Syphons?
Using a pressure gauge syphon, you may shield a Contractor Pressure Gauge from high-temperature liquids like steam with a simple mechanism. It could also be used to mitigate the harmful effects of sudden pressure shifts. Using a pressure sensor with a smaller temperature range in high-temperature applications is now possible thanks to such low-cost devices.
Tumblr media
Features of Pressure Gauge Syphon
Water or other dividing media should fill the syphon when first put in place. To avoid direct contact with different media, condensing of the pressure medium gathered in the coiled portion of syphon as shown in the diagram.
A Forged brass case pressure gauge is illustrated composed of carbon fibre, certified at 48bar (700 psi), and can withstand temperatures up to 230 degrees Celsius. Nevertheless, syphons can be manufactured out of cheaper materials. To meet the application's needs, additional coils can be installed as well as the pipes can be lengthened or shortened.
Pressure Gauge Equipped with a Syphon System
Using a pressure gauge siphon, you may shield a pressure sensor against high-temperature liquids like steam with a simple mechanism. It can be used to mitigate the harmful effects of sudden pressure shifts. Use a pressure gauge with a smaller range of temperature in high-temperature situations.
As well as reducing the impact of sudden pressure increases, gauge syphons are employed to shield the pressure sensor from the effects of heated pressure media like steam. The sophisticated design of the syphon enables condensation to develop and be collected inside there, avoiding steam from having direct contact with both the temperature instruments. This product can double as freeze protection if the right fill fluids are utilised.
Best Gauge syphon type:
Compact Gauge Syphons - The Tiny Gauge Syphon can replace the Coil Syphon in vertical installations. In addition to the Standard Type, the Compact Gauge Syphon is also available with an Integral Snubber Type.
In situations when Pressure Gauge Syphon is not required, Straight Pipes & 90° Elbows can be utilised instead of gauge syphons. Vertical installations are needed for the Straight Pipe. For horizontal applications, the 90° Elbow is the preferred choice.
What is Steam Pressure Gauge Syphon
Steam is used as a compressed fuel in petrochemical refineries, including industrial industries. Steam is linked with extremely high temperatures and pressures due to the high temperatures and pressures created by the steam.
It is necessary to protect the pressure sensor when measuring the steam thought patterns pressure at such a high temperature and/or pressure. The gauge might be destroyed and rendered unusable if it is not shielded. A syphon comes very handy in this situation. Gauges are protected against steam surges by syphons, which prevent them from overheating or collapsing.
Flow-through Syphons are rated for maximum working pressure (MAWP). The syphon's materials & schedule inner surface are related to this. Make an informed decision depending on how you work. However, evaluate its dissipation ability even if your MAWP & steam temperature are acceptable with the syphon.

All You Need To Know About Few Instruments Required In Today's Industry
What is a Pressure Gauge Syphon?
A pressure gauge syphon is a simple device to protect a pressure sensor from a high-temperature medium, such as steam. It can also be used to reduce the damage of rapid pressure changes. The syphon allows condensate to form and be collected inside the syphon preventing the hot vapors and steam from coming in direct contact with the pressure instruments and also used as a freeze protector when used with adequately filled fluids.
Tumblr media
Types of Gauge siphon
Coil Syphons - It is generally used for vertical installations.
U-Type Syphons – It is usually used for horizontal installations.
Straight pipes and 90° Elbows – These are used when gauge syphons are not necessary due to service conditions. The straight pipe is used for vertical installations, and the 90° Elbows are used for horizontal installations.
Compact Gauge Syphons – It can be used instead of coil syphons for vertical installations. It is a standard type of gauge syphons.
What is a Bimetal Thermometer?
A bimetal thermometer measures thermal expansion. The thermometer uses a bimetal spring as the temperature sensing element. The technology uses a coil spring made of two metals (Copper, Steel, or Brass) welded or fastened together. One metal must have high heat sensitivity, while the other must-have low heat sensitivity. These thermometers measure the temperature in the range of (-50°C – 600°C). These instruments are affordable as they are very low in cost.
Bimetal thermometers are used in various industries such as chemical, oil and gas, refining, pulp and paper, power and energy industries, and machine building.
What is a Low-Pressure Gauge?
Low-pressure gauges accurately measure pressure below 10 psi (690 mbar) by some capsule elements. Capsule gauges are found in applications that operate in a vacuum or pressure as low as 1" water column. In most low-pressure gauges, the range on the lower end is limited up to 10 psi (690 mbar). A low-pressure gauge with a capsule design can go down as low as 0.036 psi (2.5 mbar).
Applications of low-pressure gauges:
1.     Fan and blower monitoring
2.     Filter monitoring
3.     Low-Pressure pneumatic system
4.     Vacuum Pumps
5.     Gas burners
6.     Overpressure monitoring in cleanrooms
Uses of Low-Pressure Gauges
1.     Medical equipment
2.     HVAC
3.     Oil and Gas
4.     Petrochemical

What is a Thermowell?
Thermowell is a pressure-tight instrument that protects and extends a temperature sensor's life in applications where the sensor is not mechanically or chemically compatible with the process environment.
Needs of Thermowell
1.  Protective Barrier – A thermowell's function protects a thermometer's sensing element from exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures.
2.  Reduced operational cost – Thermowell-protected thermometers last longer, and they don't need to be serviced often. As a result, thermowell decreases the cost of thermometers by minimizing the time to maintain and service its instruments.
