I was used to the darkness. It was normal by now, natrual. Thou even still, I liked playing outside. To feel the grass as it scratches my legs, the sun warm my skin, and the wind blow my hair. But what I wasn't expecting was someone to walk over to me. I look tords tge sound of there foot steps, and the darkness started to fadd.
It's like they were a light, a becon in the darkness. As they got closer, I could see their curly orange hair, bright green eyes, the freckles that littered theur face. The grass around them, started to show, the sky got color everything started to, appear as they got closer.
"Hello there! I'm Cody, and you?" They ask, their hand outstretched to me. I was taken aback, not realizing that they'd come right infrount of me.
"A-angel..." I say, taking their hand. They help me stand up, and I continue to take everything in. The grass, the sky, the clouds. They were nothing like I imagened, they were so much better.
"It's so pretty right? Like your eyes!" Cody says, looking at the sky as well. I just nodd, befor turning to them.
"My, eyes? Are pretty?" I ask. Most people said they were, sad to see. But I don't think they were seeing my eyes, only what they ment.
"Ya! They were such a pretty light pink, but now they're even pretter up close!" He says. Pink, mama says they were ment to be red. Because I'm this albino thing, but it has to do with color so I never understood.
"Ya, pretty..." I say, looking at my white hair and my pale skin. Along with the many scratches abd bandages from when I'd trip or fall. Or even run into or sratch myself on something.
"Hey, wana play?" The boy asks. I nodd, as all I know is that he's givin color to my world.
"Great! Come on then!" He says, grabbing my hand as we run off. And apart of me, feels not so lonely anymore.
You were born blind. The kind of blindness no laser can fix. You always got confused when people talked about and tried to explain colour- what did ‘hot’ have to do with ‘red’? Then, you’re playing outside as usual when the new kid walks over to say hi. And, as they come closer….the darkness is lifted, and you see what you can only assume is a smile that spreads across their face as they watch your milky white eyes slowly faded into colour with each step he takes closer to you.
