Card Survival: Tropical Island
It’s a very by-the-numbers title, which frankly fits the game pretty well because there’s a lot about the game that is similarly straightforward in execution.
This is one of those games that brings me back to the “what is a card in a game context” question, as in this case it’s “anything represented by a 3.5x2.5 shape” which I can’t declare wrong but is dramatically more broad than how I’d define it.
To me, for something to feel like a card in a game it’s gotta need to be a card. The two things that make that for me are if it has a hidden state (that is, the thing can be face down, or in a hand) or if it can be shuffled. Without either of those...well, is the D&D Minis wargame a card game? There’s a card for every creature type, and you reference the cards constantly when playing. But everyone’s clear that it’s a miniatures game. You could copy the cards onto a stat sheet and it’d work the same way.
CSTI has randomization! The randomization even spits out events, items, and locations. But it doesn’t feel like cards because you’re filling up a progress bar rather than emptying out a deck.
All queries about whether Card Survival is really “a card game” aside, this is an interesting little sim and survival game. Like many survival titles it has a series of needs or troubles noted on the left, such as being sunburned, cold, hungry, thirsty, queasy, stressed, or any other number of maladies. A lot of the time you can pit some of your problems against one another. If you’re overheated you can go spearfishing, which will get you totally soaked in the cold ocean water while you try to get a fish. If you’re too cold, perhaps this is a good time to venture into the hot jungle and explore. It’ll take you a little longer to get overheated that way. There’s also some neat little true-to-life stuff, like how eating lemongrass isn’t super filling but does make you mildly repellant to bugs. Or how the thing that stops you from subsisting entirely on coconut meat and milks is that it’ll give you the runs. Most of the combinations of objects are fairly reasonable too. If you want a sharpened stone, you just need a normal stone, another stone (same size or a big one, doesn’t matter) and time. A sharpened stone can also sharpen a long branch into a rudimentary spear, or you can take fibers from the coconut husks, make cord, and put the cord, sharpened stone, and long branch together for a better spear.
My biggest issue with the game is how much information is present-but-obscured. It makes things feel at once overwhelming (you can click on the “more information” button on an invention to get way too much information) and insufficient (it’s easy to miss things you should have known because you didn’t happen to read a few lines three clicks away from the main UI). There’s something realistic - albeit still kind of obnoxious - about missing a possible interaction between two objects because you had so much stuff piled on the beach that you didn’t see the second object when you had the first selected. But the reverse of this problem is also possible - I made a grass skirt before realizing I’d started the game already wearing one. And I ended up with three wood drill firestarters because I accidentally clicked the sticks with the sharp rock a couple times. If the game could include some commonsense QoL confirmation buttons (such as flagging items you probably only need one of, and then marking a haveOne boolean if you already have one, and having a popup asking if you really want to make this if it’s on that list and haveOne is true) it’d help a bit. The big issue I mention above is a deeper issue and I don’t really have a fix; They’d need custom smart interactions for almost every card combination, and I totally understand an indie dev not having the time for that.
I’m having fun. Considering the competition, though, I’m not sure it’s a bargain even at the current sale price of $20. Kind of a tough call. I think if you’re into turn-based games and survival games it could be worthwhile.

There is a big variety of materials produced from several kinds of palm trees. Just think in wax, oils, wines and jelly to name but a few.
Coconuts consist in three layers. the outer and middle layers are usually removed from the coconuts you find in stores. Almost always they are stripped down to the dark brown layer. In premature state the inner area has a green color. Then it doesn’t have anything but water inside. but when it ripens water becomes coconut meat. The fibers on the outside of the husk are often used in weaving rope, doormats, brushes and sacks.

Basmati Rice Price in Nigeria 2019
Tumblr media
Nigeria's appetite for rice consumption is unarguably one of the highest in the world. Coupled with being the world's second highest importer of the food crop, rice is a major staple food in the country and is consumed across different social and age strata. Usually, this means that even when the country is producing rice at the available capacity of 6 million tonnes yearly, there's still a huge shortfall in supply. This shortfall is cushioned by the importation of a wide range of foreign rice. Nigeria spends an estimated 1.4 billion Naira on rice importation daily. Between 2011 and 2015, Nigerians gulped around 17 million tonnes of imported rice. This means that the country's rice market is still very much lucrative for foreign rice importers. Among popular imported rice varieties is the Basmati rice. Basmati is a highly priced rice variety considered by many to be the best among the different rice varieties. Unfortunately, it's not currently cultivated locally and all supplies are sourced from foreign exporters. In appearance, it is generally longer and thinner than any locally available rice variety. Although it doesn't particularly enjoy a huge market share in the country, it's distinct features ensures its continuous gain in popularity among Nigerians.   Price of Basmati Rice in Nigeria When compared to locally cultivated varieties, Basmati rice is significantly costly. Unlike most rice varieties, this type is not generally available in 25kg or 50kg bags. Bags of 10kg, 5kg, and 2kg are more popular and available in major supermarkets and open markets across the country. The prices of Basmati rice are significantly affected by exchange rates; higher exchange rates may have a significant impact on its availability. Also, anti-import policies of the Nigerian government put pressure on the importers of this rice, which in turn affect the prices. Below are the prices of the most popular Basmati rice brands in Nigeria: 4.5kg Tilda Basmati Rice - ₦7,500 2kg TRS Basmati Rice - ₦2,500 5kg Parboiled Basmati Rice for Diabetes - ₦7,500 5kg Lal Qilla Basmati Rice - ₦6,600 5kg India Gate Basmati Rice - ₦5,200 5kg TRS Basmati Rice - ₦5,000 10kg Royal Basmati Rice - ₦10,500   Related Foodstuff Prices in Nigeria Today (Complete List) Current Price of Bag of Rice in Nigeria Current Price of Palm Oil in Nigeria Today Current Price of Bag of Beans in Nigeria Current Prices of Coconut Oil in Nigeria Price of Bag of Maize in Nigeria   Basmati Rice in Nigeria Basmati rice, predominantly imported from India, is a long grain rice variety with visibly distinct features. It is currently sold in Nigeria in different brands including Tilda Basmati Rice, India Gate Basmati Rice, Lal Qilla Basmati Rice, TRS Basmati Rice, Royal Basmati Rice and a handful of others. It has a unique spicy flavour and fragrance not obtainable from any locally cultivated variety. Its biggest selling point is its lengthening ability - it significantly increases in length when cooked. On average, the grains increases to twice its dry size after cooking.  It is the longest grain rice variety currently available in both Nigerian and global markets. Like almost every other rice, Basmati rice is available in brown and white colors. The popularly sold white Basmati rice is basically the same as the brown. When harvested, the rice is brown in color; the brownish outer husk of the grains are then pilled off to get the white variant. However, the discarded husk contains a huge amount of dietary fiber, fatty acids and dozens of essential nutrients. Thus, the brown Basmati rice is usually considered more nutritious than white subtype. The brown Basmati rice also has a stronger aroma and nutty flavor than the white Basmati. Due to this, the brown one is usually more expensive than the white one. However, Basmati rice is usually tender, light, and fluffy irrespective of color. Quality Basmati reportedly undergoes a two-year aging process which ensures it is thoroughly dried and further enhances its non-sticky nature. Both are also gluten-free, low in fat and contain a good amount of folic acid and all eight essential amino acids. It has very minute traces of sodium and totally cholesterol free. Also, it has a relatively low glycemic index. This means that it releases energy at a slow and steady rate to ensure a more balanced energy level in the body. Unlike most locally available rice, Basmati rice grains remain separate and non-greasy after cooking rather than being sticky or clumped together. Due to its open texture, flavors used in cooking the rice easily permeates the grains, making it blend easily with a whole lot of recipes. While a greater percentage of locally available Basmati rice is imported from India, a small percentage is imported from Pakistan and the United States. The non-Indian varieties are usually considered as hybrid varieties with properties of both Basmati and Jasmine rice.   Basmati Rice Buying Tips If you crave for quality and nutritious Basmati rice, it's advised to buy from reputable supermarkets or e-commerce store only. A number of rice brands sold as Basmati aren't actually the Basmati variety. They are usually other long grain rice variety repacked in bags of Basmati rice. The key to detecting this for the 10kg bags is inspecting the lead of the product bag for tampering. For smaller 2kg and 5kg bags that come in partially transparent bags, the best way to spot fakes is careful inspection of the grains. As earlier discussed, grains of Basmati rice is distinctively different from any other available varieties. Usually, this means a taller and thinner appearance than other varieties. Also, Basmati rice variety is almost never available for retail sales in measurement containers as obtainable for most rice varieties in the country. Another notable point is that the US imported Basmati rice variants, like Texmati, do not have the same nutritional value as those imported from India. Lal Qilla and India Gate Basmati rice are considered as some of the best among the locally sold Basmati rice.   Basmati Rice Key Takeaways It is considered the best among all locally available rice variety Basmati rice has the longest grain of any rice, both imported and locally cultivated varieties It is uniquely light and fluffy Basmati rice is highly priced for its non-sticky nature It has a sweet and spicy aroma It's significantly more expensive than locally available rice Due to being an imported variety, prices and availability hugely depend on the prevailing exchange rate It increases significantly in size during cooking   Compare Foodstuff Prices Foodstuff Prices in Nigeria Today (Complete List) Current Price of Bag of Rice in Nigeria Current Price of Palm Oil in Nigeria Today Current Price of Bag of Beans in Nigeria Current Prices of Coconut Oil in Nigeria Price of Bag of Maize in Nigeria Cost of Bag of Flour in Nigeria Price of Agricultural Commodities in Nigeria Current Prices of Commodities in Nigeria Current Price of Bag of Salt in Nigeria Current Price of Soybeans Per Ton in Nigeria Price of Cow in Nigeria Read the full article

Over P100-M allocated for coco expansion, replanting in Caraga
#PHnews: Over P100-M allocated for coco expansion, replanting in Caraga
BUTUAN CITY – Coconut farmers in Caraga Region who want expansion or replanting will receive funding from the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA). A total allocation of PHP105.3 million will be available for the coconut farmers in Caraga Region for planting and replanting programs, PCA-13 Regional Manager Joel Oclarit told the Philippine News Agency on Monday (February 3). Oclarit said that aside from planting and replanting programs, a portion of the budget will also be used for the coconut fertilization program in the area. “The planting and replanting will be undertaken through the Participatory Coconut Planting Project (PCPP) that will encourage coconut farmers to plant more coconut trees in the region,” he said. Data provided by PCA-13 indicates that Caraga Region has a total land area of 272,093 hectares fully planted with coconut trees covering 1,311 barangays, most in Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur. The region has a total number of 118,069 coconut farmers. Oclarit said that the PCPP is among the major components of the Accelerated Coconut Planting and Replanting Programs (ACPRP) of PCA that promotes coconut planting in open and suitable areas and replanting of senile and unproductive coconut trees and those damaged by natural calamities. PCPP, he added, involves the giving of cash incentives to qualified farmer participants for the production, transplanting, and stabilization of good coconut seedlings on their own farms. PCA-13 is also developing a coconut seed farm project in an 18-hectare land in Barangay Sukailang, Surigao City. “The seed farm can accommodate more than 2,600 seedlings of dwarf and tall coconut varieties and will be disposed to farmers and planters at a very minimal price,” Oclarit said. Support Though coconut farmers were affected by the low price of copra in the previous years, Oclarit said PCA was able to help them through other support programs and services. “PCA is supporting coconut farmers to innovate and adapt to new technologies especially in manufacturing that is proven to augment incomes,” he added. Among the support programs of PCA to the coconut farmers include the Community/Household Level Coconut Processing Project (CHLCPP). In 2018, a total of 95 coconut processing interventions were conducted by PCA-13 throughout the region that include coir fiber processing, coir-based fertilizer, coconut meat-based bread and pastries and ice cream, virgin coconut oil, and coco sugar. In the same year, a total of 1,440 coconut farmers directly benefited from the CHLCPP in Caraga with a total allocation of PHP12,480,000. “We have a success story last year where a PHP15-million project for our coconut farmers already provided them with over PHP1 million gross sales during the first month of the year 2020,” Oclarit said. He is referring to the JAIF-EEA Coir Fiber Processing Project that was released to Bayugan City Coconut Farmers Association (BCCFA) in June last year. JAIF-EEA stands for Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund-Emergency Economic Assistance. The BCCFA coir processing, with a project cost of PHP15,311,758, has a daily processing capacity of 24,000 husks. Oclarit said the BCCFA coir processing project started its full operation after the turn-over last year. As of January 31, 2020, the officers and management of the BCCFA coir processing project reported a gross income of PHP1,637,405. (PNA)
