Thinking about one of the loser men I dated directly post-college who, after I showed them Dirty Computer [the emotion picture] by Janelle Monae, said they "prefer rap that has something to say"
#this person identified as a man but used they/them pronouns just in case that was confusing#but yeah like. what does that mean. did you watch the video#also one time said colorado edibles were 'too strong' and therefore 'dangerous'#they said that COLORADO should have more 'regulations' imposed on weed products lmfao#also when i was watching mad men and expressed that i liked it#they were like 'i dont see the appeal bc the commentary feels obvious to anyone whos lived on the east coast' skskdkdkelsdnakas#they had the WEIRDEST complex about being from the east coast. like. most tightly wound person ive ever met in my life#who was constantly insisting they were sooo type b and so chill and go-with-the-flow#and like yeah im aware im from one of the most laid back slacker states#but this person was one of the most uptight people ive ever met let alone dated#and just had like 0 self awareness about it#like they would exclusively wear button downs sweater vests and cardigans. wouldnt be caught dead in a hoodie unless it was northface#would only drink coffee if it was made from a french press#also see above story about edibles (which was the biggest 'fight' we ever got in bc i was like what the fuck r u talking about)#like. the label says clearly how much thc cbd etc is in each edible and how many doses there are per container#what else could you want#if you dont know how itll affect you just take half or even a quarter of one first???#this still gets me heated to think about#but yeah like what kind of person sees DIRTY COMPUTER and is like 'hmm not political enough' lmfao#OH ALSO guess why we broke up#the blm protests happened and they said they were just 'too affected by police violence to be dating right now'#(they were very much white. blonde white)#and then i found out 11 months after we broke up that they had started dating a poc a month before we broke up#because i saw an anniversary post they did and i was like '...wait a minute'#and a friend of mine used to work with them after we broke up and according to him this person would constantly bring up what a great 'ally'#they were for dating a poc#fucking. wild

Vampire the Masquerade - The Southern Blood Rush
Tumblr media
The Prelude
The Southern Blood Rush is set in Australia 2024 in the reality of the World of Darkness. The first vampires to reach Australia did so at the same time as White Settlers, so in immortal terms, the race for conquest and domination has only recently begun. A power vacuum has opened up on the east coast of Australia, and several groups work in the shadows to rule the modern Australian urban centres. Just as the mortals poured into this land for a Gold Rush, seeking riches, Vampire's are infiltrating Australia's cities for a modern Blood Rush.
This particular Canon focuses on two parties or "coteries" of Vampires; a trio in Sydney, and a trio in nearby Wollongong. These campaign notes focus on my group, the Wollongong party, hence the "Coteries of the Illawarra" subtitle.
2 years before this story began, The Camarilla (the dominant governing body of Vampires) withdrew from the Wollongong area due to pressure from the Sabbat (a vampire collective that wish to overthrow humanity). Since a bunch of powerful figures left the area, those left are warily awaiting the first grab for power.
Chapter 1. A Warlock walks into a Bar
The Tremere are a secretive but powerful group of vampire mages, and although the majority are loyal to the Camarilla, three have chosen to stay behind in Wollongong. Adrian sends his childes (those he turned) out into the greater Illawarra to find allies for the upcoming backlash he expects from the Camarilla. I play Graham Watson, an Englishman who was turned at 77, and remains incognito as a lecturer at the University of Wollongong.
Graham is sent to find connections with The Dianas, a large and powerful group lurking in Wollongong's CBD. He seeks information at the Black Cockatoo, a bar in the city centre that is rumoured to be a vampire hotspot. There, he meets the bar keeper and owner of the secret under-bar "The Blinded Eye," Tess Barbour, an operative of the Ministry of Set. Tess watches Graham carefully as he chats with three of the Dianas about a possible favour and finds out he is a Tremere.
Graham is sent to Wollongong Hospital on an escort mission, and Tess accompanies him, hoping to make her own connection with the Tremere. There, she and Graham meet with Claira Windward, a vampire doctor who delivers bloodbags to the Dianas. Claira has multiple human partners who she uses for blood and transport, and has one of them deliver the trio back to the CBD.
In the depths of Wollongong Mall, the three vampires meet the Dianas. After a higher rank member learns that Graham is a Tremere looking for allies, he is asked to dispose of a human who they captured. After learning the man assaulted a defenceless woman, Graham demonstrates his magical prowess, transforming the man's blood into water, killing him in minutes. Highly impressed, the Dianas send Graham away, promising to connect with his sire.

Tess later has a meeting with her superiors, discussing possible uprisings from the Sabbat or the Anarchs (another loose collective of Vampires opposed to the Camarilla). Tess tells her clan about Graham and how connections with the Tremere could help their odds.
Graham returns to his clan's hideout at UOW and informs Adrian that connections have been made with a few groups, but the secret of Tremere presence may have been let loose by this play.
Claira wakes the next day to find that not only have a pair of her boyfriends become sick by a strange illness, but that a similar illness has shown up in tens of patients at the Hospital. Due to the symptoms, she suspects that a Vampire with infected blood may be spreading an illness intentionally, with the purpose of weakening the blood supply for other vampires in the city.
More to come next time.

ik you’ve talked about owning a house in geelong? what are your biggest food recommendations for geelong/surf coast area? staying there for a few weeks and need ideas xo
this may just be my fav ask i’ve ever gotten
okay so for geelong dinner feeds i cannot recommend anything more than:
sober ramen - literally the best food you will ever eat. i will drive an hour from the CBD on a random night just to eat it.
Chin Chin - always a go to! they have one in CBD as well
bah laah - awesome customer service and nice people
Nectar - food is to die for
Felix - no words just amazing
surf coast area:
mortadeli torquay : another place i would drive hours to. the sandwiches are to die for and the pasta bar is delish
el nido cafe torquay: this one is randomly in the middle of a housing estate but the food is SO good. i’ve only been once or twice but every time i’ve gone i’ve gotten something different and it’s been so good
Kyn (torq) : love love love the food there
those are my main ones that i’d go back to. i don’t venture very far beyond Lorne and honestly everything i’ve eaten there is overpriced and not that good. although there is an asian noodle restaurant there that idk the name of but i love
hope these help x

HIGH-ATE-US
Hey, everyone. It's me, your erstwhile blogster. Sorry or not updating this blog for months. Things got "real weird", as they like to say in the UK. But now is the time to resume my bad life's bad work: blogging about all of Adult Swim (within reason). Umm... here we go! (I am doing an insulting gay-voice when I italicize)
It is thanksgiving. I cooked myself a nice big steak and decided to get high for the first time in a while. Really! It has actually been a while! I mostly just been doing low-dose THC CBD gummies to manage anxiety, and have not touched my more potent "fun" edibles in months. The CBD ones sorta work? I haven't intentionally highed-myself in a big while, and me being high is your big boon: in this state I have decided to come back here and start posting again. I need to get back into writing. It may still save my life yet... (sigh!)
I am watching old Letterman clips (from 1985; Milos Foreman is talking about god-knows-what). Old Letterman is very soothing to me. It is one of the first shows I ever fell in love with. I am keeping a text list of my favorite bits from a big collection of clips that I cut up into chronological order so one could roughly experience the timewarp effect of watching not only an old thing, but a lot of the same old thing in chronological order as some facsimile of time travel, or express some desire to live a parallel life where I am the same age I currently am now, but it's the 1980s. I can't be a kid again? Okay, fine. But can't I at least continue being an adult in some other time? I have be here RIGHT NOW? NO. THAT SUCKS.
why I'm trying to keep track of my favorite bits have to do with some absolutely delusional idea that I have, where I create some kind of monument to some idea of an all-encompassing television canon that I have. I'm too embarrassed to speak of it in depth, because it is truly loser shit. It isn't exactly this, but it is close to it in some spiritual way: imagine ranking every single comedy sketch you've ever seen. Is there a website that lets you do this.
I yearn for a simpler life where I live an era where physical media perfection was laserdisc, and you had to spend over $100 on a movie if Criterion happens to be the ones releasing it. That is to say, I'm in a pretty good, fairly productive mood. Let's face it: pontification is stimulating, and sadly, it's been a long while since I've felt STIMULATED. Let's take the old thinking cap out for a spin shall weee!
This post is not an episode recap, but it is me catching up on all my mails that piled up during my "real weird" exile. Some messages may be very old/irrelevant and I'm sorry if I can't answer them correctly. I will do my best.
snusuwiwjs asked:
Have you watched Jellystone S3E14 - Space Con?
I saw the RELEVANT CLIPS. This show looks very fun. I haven't been watching it for some reason. Too busy watching old Letterman. I watch stuff that doesn't require me to sit down and ACTIVELY watch it because I moved and don't have a nice big TV yet, because logistical issues persist (I received "TV Money" from my parents in the form of a Target gift card and buying the TV I want from them would require a third party such as u-haul because for some fucked up reason they won't deliver large televisions). I watch everything on a computer monitor, and I stray towards podcast and youtube junk as a result of that.
I have issues with procrastinating, too, so it's taken me this long just to get myself a couch, a laptop table for use with a couch, and a coffee table for nearby supplies and devices. I am in a very slow-moving phase lately. Pray for me that it ends soon. Anyway, I wasn't pissed off about Jellystone recasting Zorak and Moltar, unless they were going to try and have them voice Coast to Coast versions of them.
Sorta related: I have an idea for a Space Ghost finale, that would be in book-form, and I don't know if it'd be inappropriate to try and give the IP-holders in charge the idea for it, and also I think it is lame and embarrassing to have ideas for things like this when you're not actually in charge of this type of decision-making. It makes me almost worse than a fan-fiction writer. I on some level imagine myself in a pitch room saying this stuff, and that is objectively gay.
I am just going to talk about that here, because fuck it. It would be a post show-biz memoir from Space Ghost, at least by the cover that's what it'd look like. Then the memoir part (which is insane and full of very untrue sounding things) ends abruptly, because Space ghost didn't know how to fill up the required page length. So the book switches gears to make up for that, and it becomes an in-character oral history of the show, with the characters talking about the making of the show, focusing on fictional installments of the show, the conceit being that there are episodes of Coast to Coast that never aired on Earth.
Because you're describing all new-episodes, you could get famous people to riff out a fake talk show scenario they supposedly experienced in one of these unseen episodes. The cornerstone of this section of the book will be the characters describing the finale of Coast to Coast. Maybe they honor Toonami canon and have Moltar depart the galaxy, never to be hard from again. Oh yeah the book would also go out of it's way to include this as is the in-universe reason that Moltar's sections in the oral history are all specifically said to be from archival sources and attributed to previous publications, like he wasn't interviewed specifically for the book.
I do not have actual story ideas for this. Just concepts. I am sorry if you thought there'd be more. I am just describing a Space Ghost book that I would be very excited to read. Anyway, that section of the book ends and then there's a series of all-black pages with white text, resembling adult swim bumpers. They read: "Space Ghost and co. are not real. They're not even human; they're cartoons. Some of the things they do would cause a person to get hurt, expelled, arrested, possibly deported. To put it another way: don't try this at home."
Then the rest of the book will be an actual making-of the real show, like an for-real oral history (and there will be glossy pages with cool Space Ghost art and behind-the-scenes photos), and then the cornerstone of THAT section will be a big list of every guest star they could possibly ask or piece together anecdotally what every guest star on the show thought of their episode after it aired. Give Sean Medlock an entire page to vent.
THAT IS MY IDEA FOR A SPACE GHOST BOOK AND I HOPE THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE ACCESS TO THAT PARTICULAR IP READ THIS AND STEAL ALL OF THESE IDEAS (please let me come to one pitch meeting for it)
Here's another from snusuwiwjs!
Oh hey, you watched Barenaked Ladies! Honestly that’s the only GameTap episode I liked. It is also the only one I watched because I got baited by the title. Anyway, you said there was a Fox fakeout promo for Family Guy on Adult Swim, but I don’t think I could find anything? All reuploads only show the Adult Swim bump, so it would be nice if you could show some proof, mister.
Found a reupload here! Barenaked Ladies is the closest the Gametap episodes came to feeling like a real episode.
I’m sorry to jump ahead, but are you keeping up with the apparent falling-out between Eric Andre and his writing partner Dan Curry over Johnny Knoxville? Curry alleges Knoxville tased him like a week into that ABC prank panel show that Knoxville and Andre were part of, causing Curry a broken bone, and Curry further claims Andre told him not to make a big deal about it. He also claims Andre canceled some of their book tour over this dispute.
I didn't know Eric Andre would ever accuse someone of being a drama queen. I have not followed this, I'm not sure I care about it though just sayin!!! I respect you with peace and love but I don't now if I can have an opinion about this. I need to receive a big check from my car insurance before I can start thinking about stuff like that. I am sorry, but some parts of my brain are simply on hold right now.
Another from snusuwiwjs
member the antenna episode of athf? it’s kind of sad how adult swim fucked their employees over, isn’t it? george, clay, andy were often portrayed as living in the dumps and looking for a job, but it isn’t too far from truth, is it?
No it is not far from the truth at all! It is very sad. The elites ruling over us are denying us god's grace and we must become evil and violent towards them soon. I am parroting something frequent mail-bagger KON said to me while chatting in PRIVATE CHANNELS: They really should just do a Jellystone spin-off with that iteration of Brak. Or "The Calarts Brak Show" as he called it. Get Andy out of those trucks. Somebody could get hurt in those things.

From KON, who is actually just a character I do:
it's time for the blog to come back
No Kon! NOT YET
janeane garofalo in the cable guy
I once had a phase where I tried to become a Janeane completist and I watched all of her movies I think up to MATCHMAKER, which was too bad to bear and made me stop doing that. I still love her. I wish that I could meet her. I had a very good chance once and I let it slip by me. I should maybe attend one of her standing-up comedy engagements, if she still does that.
If anybody has a copy of that Mr. Show commercial where she's dressed like a mallrat and mary lynn rajskub does the Macar-anus but it's an actual HQ video taped from TV and not a guy pointing their phone at the TV screen please let me know.
There are a small number of Promos for Mr. Show that have not been collected on DVD. I want them all! GIVE ME THEM! (the series of ones where they jump through paper hoops for season 4, for example). Also I do not have a nice copy of the season 2 best-of, which was supposed to bet put on DVD but wasn't. That's the one where they are doing a news conference.
i have a special late-breaking scoop just for you: Justin Roiland has passed. he's gone, for good. you have my blessing to inform your readers of this JUICY story
Goodbye Justin Roiland! We loved your funny video games and rabble-rousing rhetoric on bluesky. I hope you thrive in him/he-aven

hiiii, I am travelling to Singapore for the Grand Prix this year and was wondering if you had any recs of things I should do while I’m there? 🩷
helloooooo omg how fun!! I love the Singapore GP it's really fun and it's such an accessible circuit. Tbh I'm the worst person to ask because a) i love niche boring stuff b) the only things my friends and I do in Singapore is eat and hang out because that IS the national past time but let me see hmmmm
I'll just recommend some stuff that's not like. Gardens by the Bay. Sentosa. Universal Studios. The Zoo. All VERY nice places tbh and highly recommend but these are just some tiny Nadia-based reccs that you might not get from a google-able list I guess?? If you're here for a short time and you're only at the Marina Bay Sands/CBD area that's totally fine but just know that that IS the most expensive area of Singapore.
Well if you're here for a while and you're a history person I'd recommend going to the National Museum and then right down the road from there is Peranakan Museum which is tiny but fun. The National Museum is one of my favourite buildings in Singapore I just think it's so beautiful. And if you REALLY like history and museums I'd super recommend the Asian Civilisations Museum which is criminally underrated imo. If you're staying near the circuit the National Gallery is literally right there you can even pop in in the morning before the race, there's some really good local and southeast asian art in there if that's your thing.
My personal favourite place to have a wander is the Botanic Gardens. If you're a picnic person just grab some bits and bobs from Cluny Court (Plain Vanilla cupcakes are soooo good. And there's another really good bakery on the second floor) and have a nice picnic and stroll in the garden. It's pretty massive so make sure you know what you're getting into. Do NOT go on a weekend. That's crucial.
The whole Kampong Glame/Arab Street/Haji Lane is a vibe 100%. Get some boba from PlayMade, get some teh sarbat from the old man that's been serving tea there forever. There's this really good burger place like right near the mosque it's called Mahmud's Tandoor I'm obsessed with it. DO NOT let the Turkish restaurants hassle you be strong! There's some thrift stores there too but it's mostly like really good food, really nice art. The Malay Cultural Centre is like a really nice space too if you need a break.
If you want local food I'd rather you go to Maxwell's then Lau Pa Sat I actually HATE Lau Pa Sat it's theeee definition of a tourist trap. Newton Food Centre which is where they filmed that scene in Crazy Rich Asians is like fine too if you're looking for local food. If you want LOCAL LOCAL come to Al Azhar at Bukit Timah because I'm literally telling people that the steamboat fish that's there is Michellin star good. That's also a good frog porridge place down the road if you're feeling adventurous.
And my last recc is the Tiong Bahru area which is the area I used to work at. If you want cute little souvenirs or local bits and bobs there's a very cute store called Cat Socrates that I buy everything from. The Plain Vanilla there is also BEAUTIFUL it's my favourite cafe to work at. There's also like beautiful street art all along the whole area so it's just nice to walk around cause it's all just nice shophouses and art. And then there's Tiong Bahru Market which has some of the best local food. Go in the morning for this.
If you want like fancy food recs that aren't local food but are like actually good and not a scam, my personal favs are Miznon on Stanley Street, Ms Maria and Mr Singh, Five Oars Coffee Roasters on Upper East Coast. Oooh if you go to Neptune on East Coast Road you can see the pretty Peranakan buildings.
UHM YEAH! Singapore is really beautiful but VERY warm please bring sunscreen. PLEASEEEE venture outside the circuit area if you have the time because while that area is gorgeous I just think places like Haji Lane, or Tiong Bahru, or Bukit Timah, or East Coast Road are just so much more local. (Any Singaporeans reading this you know what I mean la. Nice Local. I'm not gonna recommend them to go to the coffee shop downstairs your house k)

An Awakening in Canberra
Tryptic photos, the full picture, morning bird calls and the full morning view from the balcony looking out towards Mount Ainslie, Canberra, ACT Australia. A "Good Morning" story in photos and video of our first morning in Canberra, staying at the Adina Serviced Apartments, Dickson ACT as it was close to where my stepson and his family live.
A first time family visit to Australia in April 2023 took us to 5 different accommodations in 2 areas of Sydney (Haymarket) at the beginning, ending with Randwick in the suburbs with the Central Coast NSW, Canberra and Melbourne to add to the mix. All in all, and given Australia has never been on our travel Bucket List, it turned out to be a really inciteful trip - giving us a full picture of the extended family who we had met for the very first time and seeing the places they're living in. Some places we really loved, although not so taken with the CBD area of Sydney - but we loved getting outside of it into the suburbs and outlying district.
You can visit our full Travel: AUSTRALIA Newbies playlist in our YouTube Channel (HaveCamera_WillTravel) here. Enjoy!

Harpoon Brewery releases its first THC-based beverage, Rec. Weed.
Tumblr media
Press Release
BOSTON...Harpoon Brewery – the maker of New England's first IPA – is dipping their toes into new territory with the launch of their first THC-based beverage: Rec. Weed. Made in partnership with Massachusetts' Novel Beverage Company, Rec. Weed is a hop-forward yet approachable beverage made with 5 milligrams of THC, real passionfruit puree, green tea, and hops at only 25 calories and 3 grams of sugar per can. With tropical juiciness and citrusy hop notes, Rec. Weed has a clean, crisp finish that encourages consumers to kick back at the end of a long day and unwind with a new kind of drink in their hand.
"The adult beverage space is constantly evolving. With THC now legalized in states across much of the country – especially here in the Northeast – we saw not only high demand for a THC-based beverage, but an opportunity to experiment in a way that would uniquely leverage our strengths in the beer world," said Dan Kenary, CEO and co-founder of Harpoon. "We knew we had to find the right partner to help craft Rec. Weed, and Novel Beverage Co.'s vast knowledge of the industry and strong New England roots made them the ideal team to work with on this release."
Rec. Weed is brewed similarly to a session ale but without fermentation, meaning it has no alcohol content. The process starts with a base of green tea and a bit of added sugar, followed by the cold steeping of Citra and other West Coast hop oils and passionfruit puree. After the steeping process, THC is added to the liquid base, and the beverage is carbonated like a traditional beer. This process imparts minimal THC flavor or aroma. And because the THC is absorbed into the liquid, people feel its effects quicker than with more common edibles.
"Our consumers come to us with an innate curiosity to try new THC products from brands they can trust. Rec. Weed meets them at the intersection of what they want – a buzz through a non-alcoholic and low-calorie beverage that doesn't sacrifice on taste," Donald Wyse, COO of Seagrass Dispensary in Salem, MA. "Both Harpoon's and Novel Beverage Co.'s expertise in their respective fields contributed to creating an exciting product we know our consumers will love. We're excited to roll Rec. Weed out."
The launch of Rec. Weed marks the second step into marijuana-inspired products for Harpoon's parent company, Mass. Bay Brewing Company, with the first being Long Trail's CBD Seltzer. The CBD seltzers are non-alcoholic, hemp-infused seltzers that pay homage to a classic Long Trail flavor. They are available in the following flavors: Raspberry Lime, Blueberry Melon and Blackberry. Long Trail's CBD Seltzer can be purchased at Long Trail Tap Room in Bridgewater Corners, VT and is also distributed in MA, VT, RI, CT, and NJ. Find it today using the Long Trail Beer Finder.
Rec. Weed will be available in 12 oz. slim cans with a suggested retail price of $6.99. It will be available year-round at recreational dispensaries throughout Massachusetts. Must be 21+ to purchase. Visit www.drinkrecweed.com for more information.
About the Harpoon Brewery: The Harpoon Brewery was founded in 1986 by beer lovers who wanted more and better beer options. When the Brewery was founded, Harpoon was issued Brewing Permit #001 by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, since it was the first to brew commercially in Boston after a dormant period of about 25 years. Since then, it has expanded to a second brewery in Windsor, VT. Harpoon's line of craft beer features its award-winning IPA and seasonal beers, along with special limited releases. In 2014, Harpoon became an employee-owned company.
About Novel Beverage Company: Novel Beverage Co. (Novel) is the northeast United States premier manufacturer of THC infused beverages. Operating state-of-the-art production and packaging facilities in Scarborough, Maine and Salisbury, Massachusetts, Novel is locally owned and operated, with a team combining decades of experience in both cannabis and beverage production to bring safe, consistent, delicious ready-to-drink beverages dosed with just the right amount of THC. Novel's diverse line of products can be found in most adult use cannabis retail stores.
