Ink from Otaku USA and Ani-Gamers will be presenting the following panels this Sunday! Ink at OtakuUSA: Launched in June of 2007, Otaku USA is a full-color magazine featuring reviews written from an American point of view on anime and manga, videogames, and other Japanese pop culture elements. One of the Otaku USA writers, Ink, who's been contributing to the magazine since 2013, is here to give a brief history of the magazine itself, talk about his experience as a contributor, and (try to) answer any questions you want to ask. Stop on by the panel for all the juicy details and tales of dreaded deadlines! Poetry in Anime: The Power of Words in a Visual Medium: Japan has a rich sense of literary tradition. The dense poems of this island nation have been written, spoken & chanted for ages for uses in everything from courtship & spiritualism to politics & philosophy. Me with Michele Knotz, her awesome boyfriend Chris Smith, Chris Niosi a.k.a. @kirbopher, and some new friends at Otakon 2017. It was really good to see Michele and Chris again. We last saw each other at CloverCon this year in May. I love being able to hang out with these two as they are great friends and they're just super amazing in general! I met Chris Niosi at this con as well. I was definitely not expecting it but I'm glad I did. Chris is super nice and gave me some art advice about how it's good to study anatomy which I have done some. He is an amazing artist and an all around funny guy. I really hope to see him again!

Firstly, Michele Knotz and Chris Smith will once again be hosting their Pokémon Nintendo 3DS Party Panel: “Join “Jessie”, Michele Knotz & Pokémon expert Chris Smith for games, contests, battles, sing-a-longs, & more. Trade with other Pokéfans, learn about breeding & battling, & play for prizes! Bring your own Nintendo 3DS for special prizes!” And secondly, Michele will be joined by Pokémon voice actor James Carter Cathcart for Poképalooza: “Prepare for trouble & make it double! It’s the voices of Jessie, James & Meowth from Team Rocket in Pokémon, Michele Knotz & James Carter Cathcart! Join them in their crazy adventures as they take you on a ride from script to voice booth!” We will be posting the finalized schedule very soon!

DJ Scratchin' returns to CloverCon for the 6th year in a row! Catch him playing tunes during the Cosplay Catwalk at 1:45pm and again on the Main Stage from 3:30pm-4:00pm! DJ Scratchin' has been actively pushing boundaries since 2005 through his fusion of infectious high energy dance music and classic club vibes. Over the years he has released on international labels such as Breakbit Music, Sirona Records, and Placenta Recordings; performed at prolific anime and video game conventions such as Genericon in NY and MAGFest in MD and is the founder of forward thinking URL/IRL collective, PARTY2012. Anime Parliament will be returning this year! “Adam Hennessey conducts this open-forum panel, where attendees (cosplaying or not) may come forward to present a case against a character or other situation in any anime or video game. The audience then assists in the deliberation, voting & sentencing.” More panel announcements coming soon!
