Bent over his latest contraption, he had been working for hours on end yet again. âHeehee! almost, almost!â he was snapped out of his lunacy by the presence of his dear friend
âTinker! Youâre at the Explodatorium!â he seemed a bit taken aback. The smaller man wasnât known for leaving his mechanical tower unless it was for business, but to see him with a tray of drinks? He didnât really know -what- to think.
âHee!âŠis this for me?â he picked one up, it was still cold even⊠he wasnât used to this sort of kindness. Perhaps itâs why he appreciated the other so much.
âthank you sethâŠIâm glad youâve come to visitâŠâ

âIs she still bothered by me giving her a timepiece? I thought we were over thisâŠâ Well, not much he could do to change her mind at this point. âAh, well, she shouldnât be so shy about it. Please tell her that. What was the idea pitch though?â
âYou could askâŠwait, nevermind. Thatâs a bad idea.â Tinker Knight considered asking Dvalinn for her help. But there was the unspoken concept that Dvalin could not be trusted for plenty of matters outside her expertise. Plus, sheâd probably just embarrass Plague Knight even further than this situation was already.
âIâm afraid so. I think she just needs some time with it, donât fretâ she toddled over to a stool and took a seat. She looked much the same except for the addition of a witchâs hat sitting atop her hood, and new curves to her body. She propped herself up on an elbow.Â
âOur pitch comes from having to re-sew many uniforms due to grey magic for us, and just plain stupidity on our subordinates parts. We were thinking of a machine that acted like a piston to punch a needle through fabric back and forth really fast to speed up the process. Kind of like a mechanical arm, but with a way to change the speed at will... Heehee! We both figured that if anyone knew how to make that sort of thing happen itâd be youâ
(antimonybouquet) "I hope your day's going better than mine..." She struggles to cross her arms now that her new "assets" were in the way.
He didnât recgonize the voice at firts. It sounded familar, but it couldnât be, since it was higher pitched andâŠfeminine??
âPlague Knight??? Donât tell me thatâŠnevermind.â He tilted his head away to not look at some of his friendâs ânew assetsâ. âI suppose my day is doing fine. UhâŠyou just wanted to visit?â

Welcome to Calliâs FFXIV Blog!
General Info
Race and Gender: Female Keeper of the Sun Miqoâte
Height: 5âČ4âł
Age: 28 Summers
Nameday: 5th Sun of the Fifth Astral Moon
Languages: Common Eorzean, Mammet, Magitek Coding
Hair Color: Red
Eye Color: Green
Skin Tone: Very pale
Body Type: Very athletic but slim
Early Life
Birthplace: ???????
Hometown: Limsa Lominsa
Family: Irent âPistolarâ Glajair; Calliopieâs âfatherâ was a lonesome Elezen whom specialized in goldsmithing and Magitek reverse engineering among the primordial ranks of Machinists. Calliopie remembers not of her ârealâ family, only to have awoken in a field in the outskirts near a Cerulean Mine in her youth. The kind Elezen found her dazed and confused on a harvesting expedition and offered her assistance. Reluctant to take in a random âstrayâ whom would hold up his future plans with the guild, he gave her sovereignty and a homestead. Irent was a grizzled man, though kind; and thought it quite the inconvenience to welcome a complete stranger into his life; but Calliopie proved to be a vital apprentice with a extreme fondness with obsessive tinkering. Irent never had the honor of bearing children, forfeiting his life for full dedication towards his duties in Airship Modules, but as time went on Calliopie became family, friend and valuable pupil.Â
Calliopie is obsessed with inter-dimensional crystal reality hypothesis and firmly believes she âtransferred overâ from a possible parallel world or experience. Though these thoughts are completely outlandish and possibly foreign concepts she doesnât completely negate or dismiss it from plausibility. The recent bridge crack into the Crystalline has reignited her curiosity of âknowingâ what is possible. Calliopie wanders with her trusty custom built Mammet whom aids her on all exploratory ventures and was personally built and gifted before Irent passed away not long ago. Irent modified âXanadu X-82â with compassion personality modules, field assistance, field repair, and transport. Although he was installed with micro magitek boosters, they never seemed to truly activate and have remained dormant. Their purpose is unknown.Â
Childhood: âA place and a time I cannot pin-point. All I see is the deep archipelago...a vastness. A Promyvion like monolith...if I only knew where..â
Adolescence
Occupation:
Researcher, junk-monger swindling, and dedication to a multitude of crafts to keep herself self sufficient. Not one task was beneath her in whatever needs was necessary to survive. Calliopie is also a seasoned performer, specializing in deadly performance arts of dancing and martial talents.Â
Education:
Was mentored by Irent in all things related to reversing Magitek and itâs multitude of applications in various arts, disciplines and craftsmanship. Studying through the Magiteks Academy she proved to be an invaluable asset and imagineer for parts splicing and weapons integration. Her skills were founded on direct Hands-On training and âstreet credâ experience in black market trades/supply. Astrology cards have played a heavy part in Calliopieâs Mammet hacking experiments, using âpredictionâ scans based the deck as a means of programming a gyroscopic âbrainâ motor that scans the âfatesâ of the deck and gives altered Mammets randomization personality benefits or unique abilities for attack and healing. Â
Place of Residence:
A small apartment in Shirogane. Calliopie enjoys fishing in the nearby river and meandering the streets at night.
Finances:
No one knows how much gil she stows away. Thousands? Millions? Sheâll never directly say, but she quite comfortable with the fruits of labor...no matter the means of income.
Current Situation:
Calliopie currently owns The Golden Mammet speak-easy sushi bar in The Lavender Beds. She also is currently finding upgraded technological means of reverse engineering Mammet bodies to fit into attack-mode modules using stolen Magitek. Although some experimentation has proven successful, the kinks and worrisome mainframes of these delicate clockwork automatons become easily victim to âoverdrivesâ and failure. She continues to find ways to perfect this. In her off time she runs âerrandsâ in Shirogane for a multitude of businesses to fund her lab trials. She is also a professional performer and can be found doing vaudevillian acts around Erozea with her Mammets for spare gil and to display their unique altered abilities.Â
Personal Life
Sexual Orientation:
Straight
Romantic Preference:
Gunslingers, Dragoons, Knights and Samurai are definitely her âeye-whiskey.â
Marital Status:
Single (Although she feels widowed)
Relationships:
Calliopie is haunted by a forgone memory of a handsome companion Dragoon/Samurai named Akashi Boushin. Their love was unbreakable and defying of all odds and hardship, and yet he feels like a distant ghost; an unobtainable memory that one cannot grasp. A phantom death. Calliopie wakes up in night sweats seeing visions and images of Akashi, unable to pin-point whom he is or âwasâ. Her obsession with Great Crystal Fractalization has compelled her to believe he must be from a different place and time and her astral memories were transferred. She brushes it off typically, blaming it on hyper-creativity. Although she is haunted by this, Calli typically tends to live like a loner and doesnât open up much...however she is deeply romantic. She views the heart as sacred magicks that only the âmeant to beâ can fill.
Miscellaneous
Mannerisms:
Very expressive when talking, quirky, boisterous and sometimes quite the opposite by being totally silent. Introverted but warms up quickly.
Hobbies:
Gadgetry, Reverse tech Engineering, Hacking, Astrology/Stargazing, Painting, Reading, Studying, Cooking, playing with her Mammet âSquonkâ.
Likes:
Mammets, mini-magitek, food, sushi, cookies, matcha, noodles, tarot reading, exploring, treasure hunting, and secretly spending time among the Namazu in the high mountain hot springs.Â
Dislikes:
Laziness, Loud-talking, bad manners, disrespectful adventurers, Silken Crawlers (she reeeeeeeeally hates Crawlers), closed-mindedness, eazy men, vodka, bad dressers.
Is bad at:
Is too confident to be âbadâ at most things however....her coding could be better, and she is emotionally terrible in large bodies of water.Â

âOh gods. Heâs bad enough when he does that. Then King goes and makes everything worse. Why do we still keep in touch with him again when we both agree heâs an ass?â He sighed, taking a bite of his sandwich while checking the time to make sure he had enough time to get back to the Art Building before his next class.
âThey keep taking advantage of the fact I hate leaving things broken. And because they know Iâm good at repairing things. Doesnât help the IT guy doesnât know how to fix hoods or how to fix the metalworking machinery for some reason. Budget cuts or some dumb reason. But Iâm still the one that keeps doing it.â Sometimes he couldnât help but wonder why Plague seemed to always get some dumb students in his classes that would get into some minor accident during the lab sessions because of failing to remember the basic safety rules. Luckily for himself, his students listened at least enough to not seriously maim themselves with the equipment which included saws and drills.
âOh. I see. Earlier, I overheard her complaining in my class about you and wondered if you did something.âThen again, Plague always did do things that annoyed the heck out of her, so he couldnât tell the difference and had to take his word for it. âAnyway, you do realize how awkward it was to find Mona was in one of my classes when I already knew she dates one of my friends? Someone who is around the same age as me.â He hadnât realized Mona had signed up for his class until the first day, leading to him being in a weird position of trying not to let anyone realize he was already familiar with her and having to answer some questions he wasnât willing to disclose. âNot to say sheâs a bad student, I can trust her to help out the students having trouble if I need to because she knows what sheâs doing. Almost a shame sheâs only taking this class as an elective.â
âBecause the last time we let BK play with us he ragequit and broke a controller, thatâs why.â he groaned âat least King gets stuff DONE albiet at like the slowest speed possible, hehehe.â
âHey youâre the man, Tinker. You could have only a paperclip and a piece of string at your disposal and I think you could fix itâ he laughed. He always did enjoy Tinkerâs company. From the days of the No Quarter Fraternity, heâd always make sure the Wi-Fi speed was up to par, but considering Plagues... alternative lifestyle, their paths didnât cross too much. That and Plague could fix a router easily enough on his own, and he had his own along with the custom computer he built so he wasnât bitching at him all the time. He smoked a lot, at the time, so he always was hotboxing in his room alone on weekends, playing various games, avoiding Propeller and Kingâs âglamourâ parties.
âWell itâs cause they wonât let her go full in, cause sheâs getting her degree in being a Mechanic. Sheâs always fixing everything at our place. I know if I ever have car trouble, I can count on her. Managementâs always been an ass about electives, heehee. He thought about his previous comment a bit âYou know... we werenât dating when she started coming here...â he started a bit cautiously. âThe dating thingâs... actually pretty new... She only moved in with me at the start of second quarter.â

âI gotta tell ya Tinker, I canât have milk that isnât cold anymore. Some things are just better with it chilled. I had her put one in the Explodatorium, it really is quite usefulâ he hummed as they made it to the kitchen. âThings like vegetables, fruit, meat, it all just keeps longer. Itâs been saving me money left and right, heeheeâ
The box in question was made of metal and was sitting on the floor. He grabbed his stool he used to cook and popped the lid open. He grabbed some ingredients and began to make sandwiches for the three of them. He always knew how Mona liked hers and made sure it had -plenty- of vegetables on it, and a cucumber on the side
âthere you are my dear, Tinker how do you like yours?â
clockworkandgears
âYou do also remember Iâm prone to tripping on my feet if I try running. Doing that at high speed would end a disaster.â Tinker Knight deadpanned without hesitation. It was bad enough tripping when running, and he didnât want to find out what happened with tripping while running at high speed. âAnd I can just use the Mobile Gear for the remaining distance if needed.â
Tinker Knight perked at the mention of an Icebox. Heâd assume itâd be something that was cold and could store things to keep them cold by the name. âNo, she hasnât mentioned this. We got occupied talking about Electrodents.â He motioned to Boomer, who was still being held by Mona examining him.
Mona glanced up at the mention of the Cold Box.Â
âItâs in the kitchen,â she said, âAs Iâm sure you can guess, it keeps things nice and frosty. Things tend to keep longer when theyâre coldâŠâ
She put Boomer down.
âGo patrol the corridors,â she said, and it zoomed off, wheel having been greased into silence.

âFrankly, anyone whoâs lived here long enough has gotten used to hearing lots of noise. To the point itâs soothing even.â The Clockwork Tower was always rather noisy, with the every moving gears making sounds throughoutâŠbut for him, it was something that was relaxing for him to hear. âHmmmâŠIâll ask everyone firstâŠâ Tinker Knight looked up at the ceiling, trying to put his thoughts together. ââŠYou know, a saying I try to live by is being as honest with myself as possible. Something Grandmother instilled in me when she was around. It sounds easy, but itâs much harder to accomplish. BecauseâŠwe all feel the need to be someone we arenât at some point. Because it hurts us sometimes to be ourselves, when people judge you for things you canât control. For me, people canât believe Iâm a tinkerer just by looking at how small I am. I canât change that, and I accept Iâm just vertically challenged, but itâs still hard for me.â Andy popped her head out again from the room. âU-u-ummâŠIâŠ.Iâm a-a-almost done w-w-with the Electrodent! I j-j-just n-n-need to f-f-finish the l-l-last coat of paint a-a-and t-t-the hood!â She immediately popped herself back inside, to finish those tasks. âIâll be sure ask her later if she wants to.â
âA good way to live, heehee~â he hummed âFor me? hmm... I just make sure that if thereâs anything I want to try, I just do it.â he shrugged his shoulders, his chains jingling softly âI spent too much time regretting everything, and after staring death in his face I felt my own mortality almost tangibly so. Now, I just go out and do whatever it is I want to do. I donât let myself be afraid of things, even if it makes me reckless. We only get one life, so Iâve been doing what I can to make it a bang! wheeheehee~!âÂ
âTake your time, Andy! You canât rush creativity~â he sure could speak from experience on that. He worked on so many drafts just to get his favorite basic bomb casing to work, and that diligence culminated into an iconic and sturdy casing he had a lot of pride in. While he canât deny he had help in the creation, he still pushed for the original design.Â
(antimonybouquet) "HeeHee! Tinker my good pal, I'd like to order one electrodent please! Its a gift, eh-heh heheh..."
âHuh. Plague Knight. Itâs been a while since you last visited me in person. Nice to see you well.â He processed what his request was, slightly frowning under his helmet. An Electrodent. Maybe there was a connection to the only recently recovered Electrodents and Mona after all. He quickly shook the thought away. Whether it was her or not, they were returned, so heâd just let that go.âYou would think youâd order an Electrodent from me ages ago, Plague Knight if this person wished for one so much.â Still, he got up to get the parts set up for constructing a metal rodent. Heâd long memorized the Electrodent construction by heart, so it was only a matter of setting up and putting it together.âAnyway, will a standard one do, or do you want something custom?â

It's another letter from Tinker Knight. "To Plague Knight. Thanks for your concern, but I already have some certain individuals nagging me about this. Still, I probably need the reminders. Oh, and I'll be honored to attend provided no foreign royalty demands a life sized mechanical Dozedrake in a month or something. Speaking of your last letter, I suppose the four I sent before that one never got to you after all. Didn't you mention someone keeps using any paper left around for scrap paper?"
He grimaced at the realization. Percy, that damn able horse! How many other letters did he miss?Tinker,Ah yes it seems a certain underling has been doing away with my letters without permission. I shall see to it at once that it doesn't happen again. Heehee, in any case, have you heard any news about our past group of posers after the enchantress fell? I know that Specter pops in now and again with some young boy. I believe Mona said he was his nephew? I'm too busy to notice. Oh, I forgot, I got some of this from a client but I have too much, I'll have no use for it. Perhaps you'll find some use? Be careful, it sticks anything together and stays together unless you use the solvent. Thought it would help with more constructionSincerelyPlague"He handed it off to the mail minion with a large jar of sovereign glue and the sister jar of the universal solvent in case there was a problem...those sorts of things do happen

AU where Tinker Knight is an alchemist instead of an engineer. Iâm still a bit meh on the color scheme, but I really like how the hazmat suit and gas mask inspired design itself came out!
I imagine unlike Plague Knight, alchemist!Tinker Knight creates chemical gases that induce varied effects on his opponents from rusting armor and weapons to numbing effects. Because he canât win in a straight fight, his strategy is pretty much avoiding getting hit while filling the room with gases and hoping he can last long enough for his opponent to succumb to the gases.

âSpecter always gets us killed cause he goes aggro and then weâre screwed.â he complained, swishing around his coffee in his âWorldâs Okayest Boyfriendâ mug Mona had given him. The breakroom was small in the Science Building but it was quiet compared to the loud hums of the Art Building from Woodworking and Ceramics. He poked at his lunch that Mona had made, a bento in the face of a cat out of the rice, with cute decorations.Â
âHeehee, I donât know why you just refuse. We have an IT guy, and you got classes. Though I appreciate you fixing the hoods in my lab. Stupid kids always forget to use it.â Kids... not so much, more like people their age or in their 20s. Truth be told classes were varied in age.
âMona? Hmm, sheâs just been moody lately. It comes and goes. She enjoying your class? Sheâs always been a gifted mechanic. Fixed my car for me, heehee~. Gotta thank her for that sometime.â
(antimonybouquet for Modern AU) "HeeHee! You up for another game run of Diablo 3 after work? I'd love to have you star in my LP Channel sometime! Mona gets tired of the thirst comments."
âIâm up for it, so long as no one ends up breaking any of the machinery and I have to stay late to fix it for tomorrow. (Iâm not a repairman, I swearâŠ). Speaking of Mona, you didnât happen to piss her off again, did you?â

âI can cook. IâŠjust donât really have time to experiment with food recipesâŠI do like to play around with drink and tea blends though. I would argue I make the best pierogi though.â He was rather proud of his ability to make pierogi, and he and Durin often made batches of them to spend time with each other.
He was pulled from his thoughts at the mention of Durin by Plague Knight. Durin was on friendly terms with Plague Knight despite the rough patches they had resulting from instances back when the Order was around, including Plague Knight attacking Tinker Knight for his essence. His helmet had been taken off to have his drink, so his widened eyes of surprise was evident to the other knight mentioningâŠcourtship rumors involving his brother and a well trusted member of his staff.ââŠNoâŠI know he met her when I sent him and Dvalinn here to install the echo pipes, but he was evasive when discussing her. I know he did fix her hair pin and he was wearing his helmet the entire time while because he felt nervous interacting with herâŠ.â He frowned, taking a deep sip of his drink. Durin was always a rather shy and quiet individual, but heâd usually confide to him when he was having troubles. Then again, the subject matter of relationships was a littleâŠsensitive to Tinker Knight. ââŠThough I know he seems a lot happier recently. Itâs subtle, but he doesnât seem as waryâŠwell, now I knowâŠâ No matter how much time passed, Durin was always Sethâs dear little brother, and he couldnât stop himself from feeling protective. âBut I suppose I should keep hush about this for a while until he tells me willingly. Durin would probably die of embarrassment if I knew about what they write to each other aboutâŠâ âHmmmâŠfascinating constructionâŠreminds me of my Sine DaggersâŠalthough lacking the semi-sentience.â He took a few minutes to appreciate the spread of what was a promising idea. He would likely never understand alchemy as well as Plague Knight and his dear partner Mona, but he could be amazed by their abilities regardless. ââŠIâm trying to make something about to play back sound.â
âHee! Iâd love to try some sometimeâ he unbuckled his mask and said it beside him, though he kept using the straw as a force of habit.
âWould you at least like to meet her? I can summon her here thanks to that wonderful PA system you put in. Iâve been calling it that for âPlague Announcement Systemâ since I can call the staff at any time.â he took another sip, his expression fond âI may work with mostly bonces, but 22 is a good girl. Sheâs a favorite, personally. Iâve known her since she was naught but 16 or so, and that was almost 10 years agoâ he nodded
âThank you. I know I want to use a remote fuse, but Iâm having mona work on seeing if we can produce a frequency from the creature to a device to control itâs movements. Iâve gone with an arachnid design since their anatomy is most suited for wall climbing and sticking. Itâs similar to a Kettleleg, but I think it could be improved. Iâm just not sure what -powder- to put in it...â he shook his head âIn any case, Iâve heard about a similar device thanks to Grey Magic. I believe itâs called a Pho...Phono.....Phono-something.â his brows furrowed, trying to recall âAh, itâs goneâ he sighed, âsorryâ
(clockworkandgears) đ„€
