pg. 1 - Nice to see them getting off their duffs to do something.

pg. 2 - Devon trying to stall the wolves is hilarious.

pg. 3 - Love the design for the clock.

pg. 5 - Kate has a point. Keeping her there definitely works against the Marquis’ end goals.

pg. 6 - But her seeming capitulation to his demands was definitely a feint. That’s got to hurt.

pg. 9 - Now we know why there were all of the little cutaways to demons throughout the arc. Subtle hints as to what was going on with de Fabre’s collection and what else he was maintaining.

pg. 10 - Love the design for Marchosias. It’s a nice mix of Guy Davis’ monster sense and the established tone for demons in Hellboy.

pg. 14 - I find it interesting that Marchosias essentially helps Kate. Even if she doesn’t get the book. It’s in line with the assistance that demons have shown before in Hellboy and BPRD when our protagonists free them from their binds.

It’s also interesting that Dave Stewart’s colours take on more of the flat, singular colour-themed approach that he uses for Hellboy more than the schemes established for BPRD.

pg. 22 - I love that Roger’s true nature is one of peace. That he recognizes that the more violent aspects of his recent behaviour wasn’t necessarily true to his character and that he doesn’t want to go back to that life.

Also, nice call back to The Soul of Venice with a statue here of Cloacina.

pg. 23 - Love the effect of Johann’s evaporation.

pg. 24 - Roger as a child is an interesting thing to close on. Makes you wonder if it’s supposed to be a symbol of his childlike nature, or if it’s representative of him returning to a more youthful state in this kind of holding place, or still yet if it’s a sign of rebirth that might be picked up on somewhere down the line.
