Pokemon Next Gen (Successors): Clarissa Hibiki

Clarissa is the daughter of Jimmy and Marina. Much like her father, she cares about Pokemon but she lacks his energy and much like her mother she likes cute Pokemon, singing, and dancing, she managed to learn how to put on a show while she’s battling which is something her mother taught her how to do when she was younger. However, she wasn’t exactly sure what she wanted to do as she wasn’t interested in being an idol, a coordinator, a trainer or a performer and it wasn’t until she was on a trip with her parents to the Unova region and they were in Nimbasa city for a collaboration with the Pokemon Musical where Clarissa met Elesa, Elesa saw something in Clarissa and asked Marina if she could train Clarissa to be a model and Marina didn’t mind, so long as Clarissa was safe and stayed healthy. Clarissa was nervous about it at first but she slowly started getting used to being a model alongside Elesa, she’s also got her Pokemon to model with her.

Clarissa’s main colors are purple and turquoise. From purple, she’s imaginative and creative as she’ll often make up her own songs as she’s doing something. It also represents her current status as a model and gives her the impression that she’s royalty or a noble, purple also helps her get inspiration and it represents how she likes being her own person, as such she doesn’t enjoy people assuming she’d pursue her mother’s idol career or her father’s trainer career and she hates it when someone compares her to either of her parents as such she will always try to do things her own way instead of trying to copy either of her parents. From turquoise, she’s calm, friendly and happy to just enjoy life. Turquoise also helps her recharge her spirit when she’s having a stressful day, it also represents how Clarissa doesn’t like being alone and it represents how she’s indecisive but she’s still compassionate.

Her Pokemon:

Chikorita- Chikorita is Clarissa’s starter Pokemon, she received her from Professor Elm back when she still lived in New Bark Town. Chikorita is very docile and easy-going, preferring to just relax by sunbathing. She’s also caring and supportive, she’ll often let out a scent to calm anyone around her down and Clarissa is always glad that her Chikorita does that so she’s able to calm down as she gets some preshow jitters before each show. Chikorita also greatly enjoys dressing up with Clarissa but she has to get special clothes tailored to fit her body type. She’s always glad that she got taken in by Clarissa.

Ability is Overgrow.

Moves are Magical Leaf, Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Sweet Scent, Nature Power, Grass Pledge, Energy Ball, Vine Whip, Ancient Power and Grass Whistle.

Flaaffy- Clarissa caught Flaaffy back when she was a Mareep. Flaaffy is a very mild-mannered Pokemon, nothing really bothers her and if there’s one thing she likes more than relaxing with Chikorita, it’s making others happy. She’s currently one of the Pokemon that’s allowed to take pictures alongside Clarissa and she highly enjoys it. Flaaffy also enjoys looking her best and being groomed by Clarissa, she enjoys wearing different clothes for her species and posing for the camera, she’s also protective over her trainer as she’s currently one of her two teammates that evolved and the only one interested in battling a little bit so she’s the one who has to protect her trainer.

Moves are Charge, Thunderbolt, Cotton Guard, Power Gem, Magnet Rise, Signal Beam, Protect, Iron Tail, Heal Bell, and Discharge.

Phanpy- Clarissa caught Phanpy after befriending him. Phanpy is a little young but he’s still very strong for someone his size, to the point he’s able to knock anyone he tackles down to the ground and leave them dizzy and sometimes knocked out. He’s very playful but he can sometimes be rough, he’s also very energetic and it takes him a while to calm down. He doesn’t highly enjoy being a model like the others, but he likes playing with the other Pokemon and he likes helping people. The most he does is carry some things that could be really heavy due to how he’s stronger than a normal Phanpy and he’s happy to pull somethings in a cart shoulder they need to move short distances.

Ability is Pickup.

Moves are Defense Curl, Rollout, Slam, Earthquake, Return, Play Rough, Seed Bomb, Head Smash, Superpower, and Headbutt.

Jigglypuff- Jigglypuff had heard Clarissa singing one day and happily started to sing with her, once they were done singing together Jigglypuff pretty much begged to join Clarissa’s team simply so they can sing together again and Clarissa happily agreed. Jigglypuff is a bit of a showoff, she likes being the center of attention, Jigglypuff also enjoys having her picture taken and being dressed up with cute accessories. However, she does know that Clarissa calls the shots so she makes sure not to step over the line in case Clarissa might make her stop posing for pictures. Jigglypuff still enjoys singing with Clarrissa, they will always sing together when on their downtime.

Moves are Disarming Voice, Rollout, Round, Hyper Voice, Flamethrower, Psychic, Dazzling Gleam, Icy Wind, Return, and Echoed Voice.

Cyndaquil- Cyndaquil was given to Clarissa not long after he hatched from an egg. Cyndaquil is the son of Jimmy’s Typlosion and was glad to be given to Clarissa. Cyndaquil is an odd case, he can be relaxed and even timid in some cases but he also can be hot-tempered when angry enough, to the point he needs to blow off some steam by sparring with Jimmy’s Pokemon or just fighting a training dummy. He doesn’t exactly understand what it means to be a model but like Flaaffy he will protect his trainer as best as he can and he will do his best to support his trainer’s dream in being a model.

Ability is Blaze.

Moves are Quick Attack, Swift, Flamethrower, Flame Wheel, Nature Power, Double Kick, Thrash, Fire Pledge, Heat Wave and Sunny Day.

Lillipup- Lillipup was the first Pokemon Clarissa caught when she stayed in Unova, she found Lillipup to be really cute and caught him after having Jigglypuff battle him. Lillipup is obedient, loyal and doesn’t cause any trouble for Clarissa or anyone else, but he’s still very helpful as such when he sees someone who needs help will go off and help them with anything they might need. He also doesn’t mind being a model for quadruped Pokemon and he’s great for finding anything lost due to his great sense of smell. He has an affection side but that’s mostly reserved for Clarissa, always licking her cheek, nuzzling against her leg or just sitting in her lap. He’s also very protective of his trainer, growling if anyone with ill-intentions approaches her and ready to bite if they try anything.

Pokemon Next-Gen Trivia: Successors

~The successors were a result of me going on the Pokemon Fan Kids shipping directory for the heck of it.

~While I wasn’t sure what to label the kids, the idea came to me while typing up Aurelia’s Pokemon team and her bio. This group will follow the lead of their parents.

~Aurelia’s design was a bit of a joke of how she would look similar to her mother when she was fourteen, I added a different hairstyle, scarf, hat, and ribbon so she wouldn’t look completely like Catilin.

~Aurelia is in better control of her Psychic abilities but she still falls asleep randomly like her mother.

~Aurelia’s team are kept in Pokeballs that are pink, she didn’t mean for it to happen, it just happened.

~Clarissa being a model like Elesa came from the idea that she wouldn’t want to follow in her parent's footsteps because of all of the pressure she would get from people thinking she was a cardboard copy of her parents.

~That’s the main reason why she picked Chikorita instead of Totodile or Cyndaquil.

~Almost all of Clarissa’s Pokemon are kept in Apricorn balls, she did it so she would have a bit of Johto with her.

~Carmine being indecisive is a shout out to the Pokemon anime where Cynthia was seen having trouble deciding what she would want to eat.

~Carmine started reading when he was three, he started to read complex books when he was six.

~Eidolon’s clairvoyance is slightly stronger than his father’s, while he’s still unable to track Legendary Pokemon he can see those who died.

~Eidolon’s Psychic abilities only help him with seeing the dead, he can’t do anything like use telekinesis, teleport or anything related to Psychics. None of the Psychic royals know why that is, but they still accept Eidolon into their clan.

~Amethyst has her name because the name Amethyst means protected from intoxication.

~Amethyst takes after her mother Janine more than her father Falkner, but she still loves her father and does spend time with him.

~Originally Amethyst’s main colors were black and magenta but I changed it to yellow because magenta wasn’t the best fit for how Amethyst acts and her current goal.

~Likewise, Skye’s main colors were blue and yellow but yellow didn’t fit her personality so I changed yellow to magenta.

~Both Skye and Amethyst modified their Pokeballs much like Falkner and Janine did in the Pokemon Adventures manga,

~Skye uses the same boomerangs that Falkner uses.

~Amethyst uses the same shurikens that Janine uses.
