Nah bruh this bitch really asked me why India was discriminating in taking muslim immigrants from the three countries covered in CAA (Pak, Bangla and Afg) and how it shows Islamophobia. So let me clear it up once and for all:
->It’s not Islamphobic to take only minorities under the threat for their identity but not majority because they aren’t.
-> It’s not islamophobic to not give shelter to people who are in no urgent need of it but rather fleeing poverty because as sad as it is , you yourself have millions suffering from it and will be unable to help these people, given that this criteria will have large numbers immigrating.
-> It’s not islamophobic because India isn’t required to fend for these people. The moment the two countries seperated and they chose to migrate because of their religion or whatever, they became their government’s responsibility. Their governments and ours haven’t been same for ages. The country they hold citizenship for is the one that is to fend for them.
-> It’s not Islamophobic to not want religious majority of a country based on theocracy because that country was made for them and they made the conscious choice to establish that place and live there. Minorities were offered choice to join India Back then and now again because yes while they made the choice aswell, they can be killed if they stay there while the majority will be.
->It’s not Islamophobic the same way its not Hinduphobic to not take Nepalese Hindus or Budhhistphobic to not take Lankans.
->It’s not Islamophobic because Miss girl they literally seperated from us to have exclusively muslim nations they don’t just get to uno reverse it per convinience?
-> It’s not Islamophobic to not want people enroaching you still after having taken desired land and resources from you, because they are not your problem anymore, and they made that choice.

no joke, people need to start paying more attention to the political situation in india. it's not as bad as the genocides elsewhere (yet) but the situation with muslims is growing worse every day. and honestly, though they hate muslims and sc/st the most, other religious minorities will probably get targeted as well.
besides indian political issues not getting seen in the west, what examples of indian politics they DO see are heavily tainted. here's a new example:
Tumblr media
I imagine they changed it so they wouldn't get harassed by BJP followers. it's cowardice but nothing new either. this is also why I hate RRR since it was a soft propoganda movie that favored hindutva facism, but people in the west didn't know and that was frustrating to see.

one of these days fucking america is going to realise that they don't get to fund the russia-ukraine war and the gaza war and slap multiple sanctions on middle eastern countries and boycott whichever little country they don't like and then call india unethical and unprincipled because they heard the name of the new internal affairs law and didn't bother to research it's context or history

Citizenship Act CAA Unconstitutional? 237 Petitions Before Top Court Today
Amid the row over the Centre's move to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) weeks before Lok Sabha election, the Supreme Court will hear today a batch of 237 petitions challenging the law. A bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and comprising Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Misra will hear the matter.
Tumblr media
Among the petitioners are Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), a political party primarily based in Kerala, and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, Trinamool leader Mahua Moitra and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
The day after the Centre notified CAA rules, the two organisations approached the Supreme Court, seeking a pause on the implementation of the law. They termed CAA "discriminatory" against the Muslim community.
Back in 2019, when the Citizenship Amendment Bill cleared the Parliament, multiple petitions had been filed against it. But the court had not paused its implementation because the rules had not been notified. On Friday, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal told the court that there was no question of a pause back then since the rules were not notified. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta then said that the fact that the rules were notified before the elections was irrelevant.
Under this law, non-Muslim migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan fleeing religious persecution can seek Indian citizenship. Persons from Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi or Christian communities from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, who entered India on or before December 31, 2014, are eligible to seek citizenship under CAA.
The Opposition has slammed the Narendra Modi government over the timing of the law's implementation - four years after it cleared the Parliament. The move is "evidently designed to polarise the elections, especially in West Bengal and Assam", party leader Jairam Ramesh has said.
Trinamool Congress chief and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said she doubts the legality of CAA and alleged a conspiracy to "snatch citizenship rights". "BJP leaders say CAA gives you rights. But the moment you apply for citizenship, you become illegal migrants and you will lose your rights. You will lose rights and be taken to detention camps. Please think before you apply," she said.
The Centre has trashed the Opposition's allegations. Stressing that the CAA is not "unconstitutional", Home Minister Amit Shah has accused the Opposition of resorting to the "politics of lies". On the timing of the law's implementation, he said, "BJP made it clear in its 2019 manifesto that it will bring CAA and provide Indian citizenship to refugees (from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan). BJP has a clear agenda and under that promise, the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was passed in both houses of Parliament in 2019. It got delayed due to Covid."
He has also said that minorities of the country "need not be afraid because CAA has no provision to take back the rights of any citizen".

Gotta love how people immediately change their tune when it comes to delhi riots.
At first they are like “Hindus are killing muslims reeee” but when you tell them who it was that pelted stones at a pro caa gathering first, attacked and killed people first and even mutilated and killed hindu civilians nearby they suddenly go “but that doesn’t make them innocent! Both were at fault!” Lmaoooooo
That’s not the fucking point, of course the hindus who killed people in any way other than self defense are at fault. My point here wasn’t that, it was showing that you are a piece of shit who will hold hindus fully accountable for a violence they did not start but can’t do the same for anti CAA protestors who did start it.

If he is concerned, why does he not talk about Bangladeshi infiltrators? Amit Shaah on Arvind Kejriwal criticizing CAA
Earlier in the week, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal criticized the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), and now Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to the criticism. Answering back, Shah said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo's narrative highlights the exposure of corruption cases in the Aam Aadmi Party. Shah also said that a genuinely concerned person would talk more about Bangladeshi infiltrators indulging in such talks.
Arvind, in his statement, said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will cause more migration than what happened during the independence. He also claimed that it will lead to a complete collapse of law and order and there will be more thefts, robberies, and rapes.
During an interview, Shah said, "The Delhi Chief Minister has lost his temper after his party's alleged corruption got exposed."
"He (Kejriwal) is unaware that all these people have already taken refuge in our country. They are living in India. Those who arrived in our country by 2014 will get citizenship," Shah said.
"And if he is concerned, why does he not talk about Bangladeshi infiltrators? Why does he not protest against Rohingyas? It is because they are doing vote-bank politics. He will face a very tough time during elections in Delhi which is why he is doing vote-bank politics. Are Rohingyas and Bangladeshi infiltrators not taking our jobs? He is just raising his voice against minorities of Jains, Buddhists, and Parsis," the Union Minister said.
"He will have to face great difficulty in the Delhi elections. Are Rohingyas and Bangladeshi infiltrators not taking our jobs? He is just raising his voice against minorities of Jains, Buddhists, and Parsis," he added.

In the ever-dynamic landscape of Indian politics, today brings forth a mix of rallies, legal battles, and significant moves by key players. Here’s a rundown of what’s making waves:
Tumblr media
Mamata Banerjee’s Anti-CAA Roadshow in Siliguri:
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to lead a roadshow in Siliguri, taking a bold stand against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the proposed National Register of Citizens. This follows her recent declaration of the CAA as “unconstitutional and discriminatory.” Her vocal opposition has sparked debates and garnered attention, particularly in light of the upcoming elections.
Challenges in Assam and the Matua Factor:
In Assam, protests against the CAA continue, fueled by recent government announcements. Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee’s remarks in Habra, North 24 Parganas, carry significance, especially considering the Matua population’s stance on the issue. The Matuas, a crucial electoral group, are divided over the CAA, posing a unique challenge for political parties seeking their support.
JJP’s Dilemma and the Rise of Nayab Singh Saini:
The political landscape in Haryana sees developments as Nayab Singh Saini assumes the role of Chief Minister. With the BJP-JJP alliance facing strains over seat-sharing, Dushyant Chautala’s next moves remain under scrutiny, especially amid internal dissent within the JJP ranks.
PM Modi’s Engagements:
On a national scale, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch the PM-SURAJ website, extending support to entrepreneurs from disadvantaged communities. Additionally, he will address the ‘India’s Techade’ event, emphasizing the importance of technology in India’s development trajectory.
Legal Battles and AAP’s Stand:
In the legal realm, the Supreme Court’s hearing of Manish Sisodia’s curative petition adds another layer to the political landscape. Sisodia’s case, stemming from the Delhi excise policy, underscores the ongoing legal battles intertwining with political narratives.
As the day unfolds, these developments shape the political discourse, highlighting the complexities and intricacies of Indian politics. Stay tuned for further updates on these evolving stories.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, popularly known as the CAA, has been debated and discussed since its enactment. It was passed in December 2019 by the Indian Parliament. This act seeks to amend the Citizenship Act of 1955, introducing changes to the criteria for acquiring Indian citizenship.
The primary objective of the CAA, as stated by its supporters, is to provide a fast-track pathway to Indian citizenship for persecuted minorities facing religious discrimination in neighboring Muslim-majority countries. The act will give citizenship to “persecuted non-Muslims who immigrated to India from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.”
This category includes Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians from these countries who entered India before December 31, 2014, and are eligible for citizenship. The CAA amends the definition of an “illegal immigrant” by excluding specific groups from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. The act reduces the mandatory residency period for naturalization from 11 years to 5 years for the specified religious communities.

55 students detained at Delhi University campus ahead of protest against CAA
Tumblr media
Around 55 students were detained on Tuesday as they gathered to protest against the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) at the Delhi University Arts Faculty, police said.
Scores of students from the Left affiliated AISA had called for a protest against the implementation of the CAA notified by the Centre on Monday.
Delhi University AISA unit president Manik Gupta said that the students were detained by the police even before the protest started.
"Many students who were simply standing outside the Arts Faculty and not participating in the protest were detained by the police on the basis of mere doubt," he alleged, claiming that students were brutally handled.
"Taking preventive measures, we have removed around 50 to 55 students from the Central Library of Delhi University (opposite Arts Faculty) who were protesting against the CAA. They were removed from the location and they will be released soon," Deputy Commissioner of Police (north) M K Meena told PTI.
"All allegations that the police thrashed the students are baseless as we have all video-recorded," he added.
The protests have also riddled other university campuses, including Jamia Millia Islamia, after the CAA was notified.
Students' outfits held a press conference at Jamia demanding the withdrawal of the Act and release of all students, who were booked in the anti-CAA protest nearly four years ago.
The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday notified the rules of the CAA giving nod to its implementation.
Under the rules, persecuted non-Muslim migrants - Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis and Christians - from three countries, including Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, will be eligible for Indian nationality.
