06.18.24
Another mellow workday, which suited me just fine, especially since we know this slow patch won't last long. Allied is closed tomorrow in observance of Juneteenth, so I decided to hit the gym tomorrow morning instead of this evening. Instead, I rolled more test footage using the ND and Cinebloom filters, and shot V-log for the first time along the way. The results were somewhat better than Sunday's footage, in part because I remembered that the ND filter is variable and actually bothered to adjust it. Tomorrow, I'll see how it looks on TV in 4K via my YouTube channel. (It will upload overnight.) I hope it's something approaching cinematic, especially after my attempts at color grading the footage.
During the afternoon, I'm finally going to see Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Everyone I know who's seen it likes it, with the exception of Audra, for whom the Mad Max series is tantamount to Star Wars for most other nerds. I look forward to making up my own mind. I'm not a Max cultist but enjoyed the first four films in the series. I think I've seen each of them only once all the way through, though all on the big screen.
Anyway, Leti and I should arrive home around the same time. I'll be upset with myself if I don't get at least a little treatment work done. I think I've delayed that process long enough, screwing around with the filmmaking gear. The camera works, the monitor works, the gimbal works, the cage fits, the filters fit. Now to get back to the most important part.
