His house had never seemed so enormous to me as it did that night when we hunted through the great rooms for cigarettes. We pushed aside curtains that were like pavilions, and felt over innumerable feet of dark wall for electric light switches—once I tumbled with a sort of splash upon the keys of a ghostly piano. There was an inexplicable amount of dust everywhere, and the rooms were musty, as though they hadn’t been aired for many days. I found the humidor on an unfamiliar table, with two stale, dry cigarettes inside. Throwing open the French windows of the drawing-room, we sat smoking out into the darkness.

Molluck Sketching Book

Last night, I had yet another urge to draw Molluck and I wanted to draw to a bigger paper since I have done those two previous sketches to my lil A5 sketchbook. I looked at my 'paper collection' (I have about 20 different paper pads and sketchbooks, most unused...) and I realized that I have this unused book-like sketching book and I could dedicate it to these Molluck sketches but maybe also make it be like a book about Molluck. So that second picture kinda 'illustrates' it being like a book and how to enjoy it! Yeah, I just had to have some fun with my stuff.

And yes, that's the cigar I have in its tube. I have seen some photos of really big cigars and man, I wish to have that kind of cigar but that was the biggest one I could find from the special closet they were in a tax-free store, behind a lock, but also the most beautiful one. I also got one cigar tin box I once bought, empty, and it decorates my kitchen, next to that Gametee's RuptureFarms tin sign.

Yes, the cigar is still there since I don't smoke but maybe one day... Cigars are just something more elegant than 'basic cigarettes' since they need some special treatment, meaning storing conditions. Yes, Molluck made me read about cigar smoking stuff and I wonder how he has stored his... Sometimes I just imagine him having like a big storage room for his cigars, a room full of humidors or the room itself being the humidor.

But yes, I wasn't really sure about the cover but I think that it looks somewhat fitting. I drew it with white gel pen, permanent type ink marker and paint marker, and I can say that it was kinda messy too... But I think that I succeeded fine enough since drawing with ink kinda requires that you do no mistakes and draw straight away. I used to enjoy drawing with marker pens, drawing straight away, but it can be stressful too since like I said, you shouldn't do any mistakes. But well, pretty many traditional art supplies can be quite unforgiving anyway, so that's kinda 'the spirit' of traditional art. I have like hundreds of markers, too... I should count them. I'm just saying this kinda to myself that I should really use the stuff I have, I have so much art supplies...

And yeah, that spine of the book has a lil RuptureFarms logo. I have been also just wondering more Molluck's role and power, for what he was truly responsible for since he was the CEO of both RuptureFarms and SoulStorm Brewery. I really wish that OWI (Lorne) reveals more stuff about this! And I wanna say that all this love I give for Molluck and wishing all the best for him doesn't mean that I support his doings. I don't love him for his actions and I see that inside of him is a beautiful Gluk. He can seem like the meanest boss in the world but he can also be sweet, just like his cigars.

For me, Molluck just doesn't feel 'evil' and well, I'm a 'Gluk-hugger', meaning that Glukkons are my favourite Oddworld species and I just love their certain greediness and selfishness... But well, it's also a part of my dark humour... Like one of the biggest reasons why I love Oddworld is that dark humour, I just love it! But also just dark themes in general there.

And well, yes, I still do support Molluck but in a way that I don't care about moral stuff when I say that. When it comes to this Oddworld/Molluck stuff, I just like to throw my moral to the trash can and play around. And the main reason why I started to love Molluck was that I saw myself in him; he just felt like a me as a Gluk...

I just cannot help myself with Molluck... I just wish to give all my love to him and that I could make him feel good and loved... Oh, and I do actually like to play around with Molluck being that 'angry jerk' kind of Gluk the Sligs said him being like. I mean, my image of Molluck has different shades and I love them all.

Cigarette smoking and testosterone in men and women: A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies

Recently Health Canada and the Food and Drug Administration warned about the cardiovascular risk of testosterone, making environmental drivers of testosterone potential prevention targets. We assessed the association of smoking with testosterone in a systematic review and meta-analysis, searching PubMed and Web of Science through March 2015 using (“testosterone” or “androgen” or “sex hormone”) and (“smoking” or “cigarette”). Two reviewers independently searched, selected, assessed quality and abstracted with differences resolved by consensus or reference to a third reviewer. The initial search yielded 2881 studies; 28 met the selection criteria. In 22 studies of 13,317 men, mean age 18–61 years, smokers had higher mean testosterone than non-smokers (1.53 nmol/L, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.11 to 1.96) using a random effects model with inverse variance weighting. In 6 studies of 6089 women, mean age 28–62 years, smoking was not clearly associated with testosterone (0.11 nmol/L, 95% CI − 0.08 to 0.30). Fixed effects models provided similar results, but suggested a positive association in women. Whether products which raise cotinine, such as e-cigarettes or nicotine replacement, also raise testosterone, should be investigated, to inform any regulatory action for e-cigarettes, which emit nicotine into the surrounding air, with relevance for both active and passive smokers.

Many women receiving hormone replacement therapy (HRT) smoke; in the Women's Health Initiative (WHI), one of the largest interventional studies on HRT to date and which recently had to be discontinued, 50% of the 8,500 women on HRT had smoked before or continued to smoke during the study. Remarkably, there is little knowledge about the impact smoking has on the efficacy and side effects of HRT. However, it has been proven that, depending on the type, duration and intensity of nicotine consumption, smoking can reduce or completely cancel the efficacy of orally administered estrogens. Not only does smoking diminish the otherwise well-established beneficial effects of estrogen on hot flashes and urogenital symptoms and its positive effects on lipid metabolism, i.e. by reducing cholesterol, but smoking also specifically reduces estrogen's ability to prevent osteoporosis. The reduction or loss of therapeutic efficacy is mainly caused by dose-dependent elevated hepatic clearance, partially in conjunction with lower estrogen levels, and has been demonstrated only with oral estrogen applications. This failure of therapeutic action should not be compensated for by increasing the dose in smokers as this might result in the production of toxic, even potentially mutagenic estrogen metabolites--compounds recently associated with a higher risk of breast cancer. The favorable effects of estrogens are not lost in smokers when they are applied transdermally. This route enables low dosage and also avoids the formation of unphysiological metabolites by bypassing the liver. Women who continue to smoke despite all warnings should therefore only be treated via the transdermal route. Oral contraceptives, but not HRT, are contraindicated in elderly smokers. However, the principal conclusion of the WHI study was that the lowest dose possible should be chosen, especially in patients with an increased cardiovascular risk, as is the case in smokers.

Smoking Status and the Five-Factor Model of Personality: Results of a Cross-Sectional Study Conducted in Poland

Tobacco smoking is the single most important modifiable factor in increased morbidity and premature mortality. Numerous factors—including genetics, personality, and environment—affect the development and persistence of tobacco addiction, and knowledge regarding these factors could improve smoking cessation rates. This study compared personality traits between never, former, and current smokers, using the Five-Factor Model of Personality in a country with a turbulent smoking reduction process.: In this cross-sectional study, 909 Polish adults completed the Revised Neuroticism-Extraversion-Openness Personality Inventory. Our results showed that current smokers’ scores for extraversion, one of the five global dimensions of personality, were higher relative to never smokers. Neuroticism, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness did not differ significantly according to smoking status. Facet analysis, which described each dimension in detail, showed that current smokers’ activity and excitement seeking (facets of extraversion) scores were higher relative to those of never and former smokers. In turn, current smokers’ dutifulness and deliberation (facets of conscientiousness) scores were lower than those found in former and never smokers. Never smokers scored the highest in self-consciousness (a facet of neuroticism) and compliance (a component of agreeableness). The study conducted among Polish individuals showed variation in personality traits according to their smoking status; however, this variation differed from that reported in countries in which efforts to reduce smoking had begun earlier relative to Poland. Knowledge regarding personality traits could be useful in designing smoking prevention and cessation programs tailored to individuals’ needs.

Personality and Smoking Behaviour of Non-Smokers, Previous Smokers, and Habitual Smokers

A one-way ANOVA was used to test for differences across the five personality characteristics of Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness to Experience, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness across smoking status (Table 1). A significant difference was obtained regarding Openness to Experience, F (2,66)=4.81, p=.011. A trend toward significance was found for Conscientiousness, F (2, 66)=2.99, p=.057. Post hoc analysis found significant differences between smokers and non-smokers on Openness to Experience (p=.008) with smokers scoring higher on this personality trait. Again a trend toward significance was observed for non-smokers scoring higher on Conscientiousness than smokers (p=.066). Though significant results were not found for the trait of Neuroticism as expected, this trait tended to be higher in smokers than the other two groups

Extraversion and Openess to experience are associated with Aesthetics

Demographic, Personality Trait and Personality Disorder Correlates of Aesthetic Motivation

This study looked at personality and sub-clinical personality disorder correlates of self-rated motives for aesthetic motivation (AM). Two groups, totalling over 4000 adult British managers, completed three tests including a personality trait measure (HPI); a personality disorders measure (HDS), and a measure of their Motives and Values (MVPI) for Aestheticism and Culture. The two different groups had similar results, showing that for personality traits Inquisitiveness (Openness-to-Experience) and Sociability (Extraversion) were positively, and Adjustment (low Neuroticism) and Prudence (Conscientiousness) were negatively, related to AM. For personality disorder traits Imaginativeness (Schizotypy) and Colourful (Histrionic) were positively correlated with AM. Factor analysis confirmed the higher order classification of both traits and disorders. Regressions at the higher factor level suggested personality traits were more related to AM than disorder traits. Implications for the selection and management of aesthetic people are considered. Limitations and future directions are also noted.

A Mini Cigar is a Cigar that has every one of the accompanying qualities: it is a roll for smoking made with any measure of tobacco; the stogie covering contains some sum or type of tobacco, (for example, homogenized tobacco leaf), however, isn’t regular leaf tobacco

Cigarillos are more modest than ordinary Cigars but generally bigger than cigarettes. Cigarillos are typically made without channels, and are intended to be smoked like a stogie and not breathed in (aside from those made in this structure just for explicit expense issues).

By and large, a cigarillo contains around three grams of tobacco; the length differs from seven to ten centimeters (3–4 in) and the width is around 6–9 mm, normally 8 mm. Similarly, a cigarette contains short of what one gram of tobacco and is around eight centimeters (3 in) long and 8 mm in measurement.

Most cigarillos are machine-made, which is less expensive than hand-rolling. It is surprising to store them in humidors, part of the way since they are smoked in huge amounts and thus have a short timeframe of realistic usability.
