Hello new mutual!! 🌈 ❤️ 🧠 for the fandom ask game!!
Hiya new mutual! So lovely to make your acquaintance and bond over horror haterdom opinions! Sorry for the delay on this, but hope you enjoy, and thanks for sending!
Fandom Ask Game
🌈- Character you have queer headcanons for: Gosh, it's hard to think of a character I don't have queer headcanons for, but I'll try to list some with non canonical confirmation - Christine Daae is bi and genderfluid and Meg Giry is a lesbian (Phantom of the Opera, any iteration), ditto for Elphaba and Glinda respectively (+ bi Fiyero), Katniss Everdeen and Johanna Mason are lesbians (and I don't even like the Hunger Games!), as is Nina Sayers of Black Swan, show!Daniel Molloy is gay on Interview With the Vampire, Xion of Kingdom Hearts is a nonbinary lesbian, and Batman Returns Selina Kyle is transfeminine, to name a few.
❤️ - Ship that you could write 100 fics for: oh to be able to finish even at least one fic or get inspiration for one probably the Scarecrow, Jonathan Crane and Becky Albright of DC comics, also known as JonBecky, Carrie White/Sue Snell, or Megstine, or just about any IWTV ship (no really any). And of course, Susannah Sonn and Sheila Nail of Love In Hate Nation.
🧠- What fictional character do you relate to the most? Golly, this is a tough one as this varies from month to month. To name a few off the top of my head - Sarah Chagal of the little known German jukebox musical Tanz der Vampire is a curly haired petite Jewish gothic heroine who wants to eschew the expectations of being a nice Jewish girl and go be a vampire queen, and the battle for her soul sequence between Shabbos candles and the call of the vampire castle was perhaps directly engineered to speak to me. Otherwise, the narrator of The Moth Diaries is yet another nice Jewish girl entangled with vampires and she's a lesbian dealing with specific familial grief to boot (don't @ me) and the diaries could've at points scanned parts of my brain. Louis de Pointe du Lac's guilt and grief and turmoil speaks to me profoundly. Otherwise, as a teenager, Avatar Korra, Peter Quill, Marty McFly, Jeremy Heere, and Beatrice (of Much Ado About Nothing) were Just Like Me FR. I felt uncannily seen as well by Peter Graham of Hereditary. And of course, at times I am Carrie White and at others I am Sue Snell. This is likely non-exhaustive, so I do very much apologize!!!
Thanks so much for sending this. <3

Dwelling in Hope
Studio Montclair is delighted to present its first exhibit devoted exclusively to photography, “Dwelling in Hope.” Dwelling In Hope through December 12, 2024 Leach Gallery 641 Bloomfield Avenue Montclair, NJ. Delving into a topic that is foremost in our minds today for a multitude of reasons, the show conveys images expressing the concept of finding hope within the familiar, everyday aspects of our lives. Works are comprised of images that, according to Juror Joel Morgovsky, “are meaningful…because they are ABOUT something, not just pictures OF something…Some artists used patriotic references, while others found spiritual resonances. Many depicted the hope they found in relationships, while others illustrated optimism that supports recovery, resilience, and perseverance.” Several artists also depicted the natural world including horticulture, clearly symbolizing anticipation for future seasons. Images depict a variety of venues ranging from individual homes to the larger community, encompass single individuals, interpersonal events, or natural surroundings, and portray symbols of refuge and possibility along with esoteric imagery that conveys the theme of hope. Participating Artists: Rachel Fawn Alban, Kate Albright, Jamie Atlas, Hilary Houston Bachelder, Christine Back, Marilyn Baldi, Patrick Binns, Lynne Breitfeller, Nova Bronstein, Cal Carter, Rachel Cole, Dennis Connors, Dan Epstein, Shoshana Kertesz, Rita Klachkin, Yael Klein, Steven Kushner, Joanna Madloch, Jessica Margo, Anthony Marino, John Masi, Pamela Moore, Mansa Mussa, Brett Oberman, Arthur Paxton, James Peaslee, William Pew, Katharine Philip, John Piccoli, Andrew Pope, Margo Ramirez, Toni Resnick, Ann Rosen, Norman Rosenblum, Joanne Ross, Laura Russomano, Manolo Salas, Maria Savidis-Markatos, Mary Shadbolt, Irina Shoyhet, Emily Snead, Peter Tilgner, Voyo Woo, Niesha Ziehmke Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: 1 to 5pm Studiomontclair.org #studiomontclair #montcairnj #photographyexhibition #njartist

10 years ago when I worked for Washington National Opera, I got to be a seat filler for Stanley Tucci during the Kennedy Center Honors. I grew up watching that show and it was a dream come true. I was surrounded by Christine Baranski, Jim from The Office, and Congressman Steny Hoyer. I stood in line for the ladies room with Madeline Albright. I watched Meryl Streep, Neil Diamond, Barbara Cook, and Yo Yo Ma being honored by their peers. It was a magical evening I’ll never forget. I wasn’t able to watch the telecast that year because I was flying back to DC after spending Christmas with family in Arizona. But one of my friends sent me the above screen grab and another sent me a recording of the show. And I get a kick out of being able to say that I was on national television. Anywho, that’s why my friends call me Tucc.

I am always amazed how of all the platforms it’s Twitter than seems to have attracted the biggest collection of civics ignornant, arm-chair know-it-alls and loudmouths (not to mention the comfortably wealthy who want free money from the government). I am reminded of that one line Erica Albright says of Zuckerberg in The Social Network:
It didn't stop you from writing it. As if every thought that tumbles through your head was so clever it would be a crime for it not to be shared.
Twitter in a nutshell. It gives a platform to people to talk about things they have no clue about, and worse, suggests that a blue check next to their name gives that person some authority to talk about something, even if they have no clue about it. God I detest that site so much - if it wasn’t for being followed by Nancy and Christine Pelosi, I would be long off it.

Note
Hey l have an assignment for my poli Sci class and I was wondering if you could recommend some female political theorists/ philosophers? Thanks! Love your blog!
Of course! Any time or place in history specifically? Or abolitionists or feminist theory in particular if you want more of subcatagories like that! I have a list of references that I could totally narrow down for you.
Some favorites off the top of my head are:
Christine de Pizan Svitribai PhuleHypatia Émilie du ChâteletHarriet Tubman Juana Inés de la CruzMadaliene AlbrightSofiya KalistratovaShirin EbadiA good majority of those have to do with their work/writing/influence in human rights theory (just as that is what Im studying :) )
Again, I can get more specific though or let you know about some in other subcatagories! Revolutionaries, suffragettes, etc.

CHEATING DOESN’T PAY…..CAN BE COSTLY
CHEATING DOESN’T PAY…..CAN BE COSTLY - https://keywestlou.com/cheating-doesnt-pay-can-be-costly-3/Originally posted July 2018   Our laws are derived from English law. Going hundreds of years back. Referred to as the Common Law. One of the laws from days of old was referred to as alienation of affection. A lawsuit brought by a deserted spouse against a third party who is blamed for the failure of the marriage. In short, one spouse cheats and the cheating spouse falls in love with that person. He/she leaves her spouse for the other. Alienation lawsuits don’t seem to fit into thinking in the U.S. the past 100 years. People want to play and not pay. As a result, most States threw out alienation of affection as a ground to recover money damages. Only 7 States permit such lawsuits today: Hawaii, Illinois, New Mexico, North Carolina, South Dakota and Utah. A recent North Carolina case evidenced the danger in stealing another man’s wife where the law permits a dollar recovery. The man who cheated with the husband’s wife had a judgment returned against him for $8.8 million. An expensive piece of ass! Good time at the Chart Room last night. John bartending. Kevin, Holly and David at the bar. Larry Smith and wife Christine showed up. I have never seen either in the Chart Room. They were entertaining visiting family and friends from Pennsylvania. The Pier House’s Wine Galley was Larry’s room. He entertained there for more than 10 years. Music and drink. The room generally filled. The Wine Galley several years ago was turned into a restaurant. Sad. Larry gave the Wine Galley a magic touch. Difficult to replace. The Blue Macaw afterwards for chicken wings and a drink. Paul and Ron at the bar. Good food and good company. The Key West weatherman is at it again. Hot today with widely separated thunder showers. He advises, “Pick your favorite storm.” Tomorrow night will be partly cloudy with a thunder shower. He said, “Plants drink free.” The Federal Reserve is concerned about inflation. They have suggested interest rates might be raised slightly. Trump is concerned with inflation also. He does not want interest rates raised. He claims the economy is good and he wants to keep it good full throttle. The danger with a rising economy is inflation. Interest rates are raised to cool the economy a bit. The inflation of concern to the Federal Reserve is minimal. Not everywhere, however. Venezuela inflation rose 60,000 percent this past year. A cup of cafe con leche costs over 1 million bolivar. Things are tough in Venezuela! Yesterday, Trump announced the GDP (Gross Domestic Product) had risen to 4.1 percent in the second quarter of 2018. Admirable! Trump to be congratulated. The highest the GDP has been since 2014. I find it difficult to accept the 4.1 percent GDP. The GDP is a composition of figures/numbers. Not saying the Trump people would do this, but numbers are easily manipulated to produce a desired result. A fudged result. A form of lying. Even if valid, where will the GDP be in 6-9 months when the impact of the tariff wars hit? Not even close to a 4! Trump also advised yesterday that 3.7 million new jobs were created. The highest ever. Not correct. In the 19 months beginning December 2016 and ending June 2018, 3.7 million new jobs were added. Compare that figure to the 4.3 million jobs that were added in the 19 months before Trump’s election. I fear for the economy. I have been predicting a recession next year. The market is overinflated. The impact of the tariff wars not yet experienced. Corporations are not pouring their tax savings into employee pockets. They are instead buying up the company’s stock. Madeleine Albright’s Fascism brings to a reader’s attention a reason why authoritarian figures rise: “Men and women who had despaired of political change suddenly felt in touch with the answers they had been seeking…..rallies, where they discovered kindred souls keen to restore greatness to the nation.” We continue to live in a society where the rich get richer while the poor poorer. The economy is going to be the major issue in November. Trump has surrounded himself with the rich. One example is Education Secretary Betsy De Vos. It was reported her $40 million 163 foot yacht was set adrift by vandals at a Northern Ohio Marina. A pic ran with the article. The yacht is 3 stories high. The Secretary’s husband is former CEO of Amway. Their combined net worth estimated at $1.3 billion. The Secretary’s brother is Eric Prince. Prince of Blackwater fame. He provides contract soldiers (mercenaries) to our government. For a fee, of course. He presently has another company doing the same work. If I recall correctly, a Prince company helped provide shelters and care for the immigration children taken from their parents. The Secretary’s father a person of affluence also. Forbes listed Dad’s family (father, daughter Betsy, son Eric, etc.) as the 88th richest family in America. Their net worth estimated at $5.4 billion. BOB tired. He said writing yesterday’s article on Fantasy Fest Nudity took a lot out of him. He needs to rest. Enjoy your day!
