Chrissy often felt like she was an actress playing one long game of Yes, And, just going along with whatever people asked of her. Going to Indiana State has been a yes, and? So had moving in with Jason, which opened up a whole new can of things she knew she would wind up agreeing to.

Calling Nancy back the day after Thanksgiving had been the first time since she could remember that Chrissy had said yes to something big that she wanted. Even though it was a quiet yes, undetectable to those directing the stageplay of her life until she completely flipped the script by actually leaving, it was her yes.
