Rev Martin Luther King stated this - and it's something which is just as needed today. He dealt with racism and discrimination and those haven't gone away. But it works both ways: left, right, centrist, communist, Christian, Muslim or Jew, gay, ex-gay, straight, non-binary or however you want to define yourself, conservative or liberal. In these days when we're seeing an increasing polarisation of views and intolerance, trolling, on-line bullying, harrassment, hatred, death threats, we need to LOVE and RESPECT EACH OTHER regardless. It's OK to disagree. It's OK to have a different opinion. It's even normal and to be expected as a human being. We all have opinions! But let's not resort to immature, petty insults just because someone doesn't agree with us! Let us respect the right of others to have those opinions without fear of hatred, discrimination or intimidation. I love this scripture because it gives you ZERO excuses as to why you "just can't get along" with someone. And it clearly states that we're not born with a natural ability to consider others and be considerate of everyone. However, we must "learn" to be. You must CHOOSE to love ALL people. This is so true. Forgiveness isn't easy but it is so very necessary. I know for myself! I have to make the choice everyday and it can and has been a struggle at times.
