First Crush 16 - Happy Halloween

I know this is late but technically it's still Halloween in Hawaii. I hope everyone has fun tonight! 🥰

"Honey, you're going to need to stay still."

Abby is squirmy in the make up chair, "But N'asha, I soooo 'cited!" Raising her little fists up in the air, ready for Halloween to begin.

Stepping back with her hands on her hip, "Well, if you stuck to being a Widow, we don't have to do this part."

Sitting still as can be, "No tank you. I needs to be Diwctor Fuwy! I stay still." Natasha continues to glue down the skull cap to Abby's head.

You enter the room with Abby's utility belt stocked with snacks and her trench coat. "Ok I think...." You stop in your tracks to stare at your daughter. The cap has made her completely bald looking. You're still undecided on how to feel about her costume of choice. Once Abby sets her mind to something it's hard to convince her otherwise. You had drawn in her goatee earlier, so she was just about done. She's still wearing the Widow suit underneath the trench.

"Mama, lookit! I no more hairs!" Abby cackles as Natasha sets her down.

She skips over to you, "Yes, I can see that." You strap on her utility belt. "While we're out, you only eat the snacks in here. You cannot touch the candy you collect, ok? I'll need to check it first."

"Okies, Mama!"

You help her on with her trenchcoat and runs over to the mirror & she squeals. " Do you like it?"

She jumps up and down, "I loves it so much!" She runs over to hug Natasha "Tank you!"

"Have fun tonight," she places the final touch of the eye patch on. "Listen to your Mama."

Chloe, Mia and their mothers were going to meet up at the Tower before hitting the nearby neighborhoods with the girls. You dressed yourself up as a hobbit. Brown capris & vest with a white poet shirt, a green hooded cape and a walking stick. It was the same costume as last year. You had always thought the stick could double as a weapon if need be. Bucky scoffed at your idea. He said him and Sam would be joining you for protection. He refused to have you and Abby out and about on a crazy night like Halloween unprotected.

You let Abby make her entrance and you watched the looks on Bucky and Sam's faces. Speechless. Horrified. Abby did her little sashay around the room, stopping in front of Bucky, jumping up and down with her hands clasped. "Do yous loves it?!" She plays with the trench to make the bottom swish.

Bucky's mouth is open & closing like a fish out of water. He turns to Sam, "Don't look at me. She asked you."

"Wow! Abigail. Wow!" Bucky's eyes meet yours and you give him a smirk.

"This whole...look? It's going to be embedded in my brain FOREVER," Sam nods at Abby.

Abby claps her hands, "Tank you!!"

The horror hasn't left Bucky's eyes as you laugh, "We better head downstairs."

While on the elevator ride down, both Bucky and Sam try touching Abby's bald skull cap without her knowing. "Stop," you hiss at them.

The elevators open to the lobby and when the little girls see each other they all squeal and scream, running to hug each other. They are so cute! Chloe is dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and Mia is Ren from Star Wars. The 3 girls gush over the sparkly shoes, Mia's mini light saber and of course Abby's bald head. Quick introductions are made amongst the adults. Bucky had met their husbands at the father/daughter dance at the daycare so they were a little familiar with each other. And Sam is so personable, he makes everyone feel at ease.

They were about to head out when the glass door slide open and Nick Fury and Maria Hill walk in. All 3 little girls gasp. Eyes wide and mouths shaped as little "o". Just like the time before, very intimidating and frightening, trench coat flowing behind him, cutting a striking figure across the lobby.

Abby runs across the lobby, followed by her 2 best friends. "Diwector Fuwy!!" She hugs his leg, "Happy Hanoween!"

He frowns down at her, 'Who the hell are you supposed to be?!"

Chloe is afraid of his tone and Mia hold her hand. The parents quickly follow.

Abby covers her mouth and giggles. "I'm you!!" She does a little turn making sure her trench swishes out. She slides her hand in his. "You wikes it?"

"Just say you like it," Bucky says with a little growl in his voice.

You try to distract & gather everyone to head out.

Abby looks at her friends, "Him's my fwend. He's so smart and braves. Him's the big boss to my Mama, Bucky, Captain America, Black Widow, Fawcon, Iron Man, Green Man, Lightning Man, Arrow Man....all dem Avengers. He protects the whole world and even space!" Fury doesn't look as angry & gives her little hand a squeeze. "And keeps us safe." Poking her eyepatch, "So no one steals our eyeballs, right?" His frown is back in full force and her drops her hand. He takes out his money clip and drops some money into the girls bags. "Get the hell out of my lobby. Go get some ice cream or something."

Again the girls gasp and a chorus of "Tank you, Diwector Fuwy! Happy Hanoween!" They all giggle and wave like the mini fan club that they are now.

"Ok, let's get started." You all start heading out and you turn to Bucky, "I thought Steve would join us tonight."

Abby pipes up, "Uncle Steve is on important dates. He cannot."

Bucky narrows his eyes at Abby, "How do you know he's on an important date?"

Abby shrugs before running off to join her friends, "Him tells me tings."

i saw someone headcanon a miraculous ladybug x descendants rise of red crossover with Red as Chat Noir and Chloe as Ladybug. But…. hear me out. Switch em around

She already has the red and black scheme down

She’s very smart and cunning on the field and is shown to use her environment to her advantage

You know she’s one to come up with elaborate plans (just like her elaborate pranks)

She's not afraid to stand up to bullies due to her strong sense of justice and speak her mind, but she's also not afraid to bend the rules a little

Her double life: getting into trouble for rebellious acts so no one expects her to be the heroic and responsible Ladybug

(Honestly just use her fit during her intro song.)

Chloe as Chat Noire

She's a straight A student who is involved in loads of activities including founder of the french club, president of the Auradon historical society and captain of the swordfighting team - a representation of a perfect princess

Giving her the mask allows her to relax from the expectations of being the perfect princess

Imagine the double life: her being a goody two shoes in the day (very princess, very demure) but a flirtatious and charming (its in her name) black cat at night

Also, she loves to make puns

She'd get blue eyes instead of the green black cat eyes

And I think we’d still get Bridget/Queen of Hearts as Hawkmoth/Mayura and uses her card deck to reign terror on Auradon

Can't forget the love square and roommate hijinks.

I think we would get a reverse love square tho

Chloe's been enamored by Red ever since they started at Auradon Prep and watched as Red stood up to a bully on the first day on campus.

Red perceives Chloe as a privileged princess that's naive and soft and one of the snotty popular ones. Chloe eventually shows her that she's more than what Red initially thought she was. Chloe can't bring herself to flirt with Red outright given the whole Perfect Princess expectations everyone else has of her.

As Ladybug, Red develops a crush on Chloe's Chat Noire who is ever so charming and makes puns all day, but unafraid to match Red's Ladybug's wit while being a knight in shining armor (unafraid to take the hits for her).

Chloe's Chat Noire sees Red's Ladybug who is very focused on the mission and after seeing her convoluted plan work with their first villain, allows Ladybug to most of the heavy planning, instead choosing to support her as her knight in shining armor. Chloe's a lot better at flirting as Chat Noire without all the pressure from everyone else around her.

The two are roommates, and thank goodness neither of them are ever present when the Queen of Hearts uses her Deck, nor do they press on about any of the lame excuses each one of them gives the other (somehow, neither of them end up running into each other)

a few months later…

fall was quickly approaching, the autumn leaf colors swallowing the green ones and the wind getting colder. you had loved this time of year, the transition from summer into fall feeling like a fresh start for you every year. a new chapter of your story unwinding before your eyes.

however, this year it felt a little bit different. the summer had been mediocre, a let down from what you had wished it would be. between everything with lando falling out of place as soon as you figured it out, to having to turn your social medias private due to the backlash of your relationship.

the truth was, you hadn’t really let it bother you. people could say what they wanted about you and your relationship, but at the end of the day, it was basically a dream come true. everything you had ever wanted wrapped up with a pretty bow on top.

right now, it was the last week of august. two official weeks left of summer until you were thrown into your final year of uni, until you were put out into the real world to show everybody what you were made of. you were wheeling your suitcase through the monaco airport, smiling softly to yourself at the thought of the surprise you were about to pull off.

you had texted max on a whim a few days ago, saying you wanted to surprise lando and hang out with them for the final few weeks of summer. get back that time the two of you lost when he was swept away and had to come back. he had thought it was a great idea, knowing his best friend needed something like this. he knew lando needed you.

so he agreed to pick you up from the airport, helping you put your bag into the trunk after giving you a quick hug and before you climbed into the passenger seat. he had told lando he was out to run an errand and that he’d be back, leaving his best friend in complete unawareness.

“he’s gonna be so happy to see you,” he smiled, “when’s the last time you talked to him?”

“before the flight,” you said, “i told him i was out with chloe, getting some shopping done for school. i’m excited to see his reaction.”

you were practically beaming, over the moon excited about everything that was about to happen. about seeing him, being wrapped up in everything lando and letting it consume you.

max pulled up in front of the apartment building, the two of you making light conversation on the way up about how your semester was gonna go. the key turned into the lock, the two of you laughing softly. the door pushed open and your heart was going a mile a minute, so excited to see his face when you walked through the door.

you had quietly wheeled your suitcase to the living room and kicked off your shoes, max following behind you as you made your way down the hallway. you were smiling so wide it hurt, hand slowly approaching the doorknob to his bedroom door. you opened the door slowly, smiling as you peaked your head in.

you spotted brown curls flushed against the white linen pillows and your heart squeezed in your chest. his eyelashes kissing his cheeks and lips slight parted from his cheek being squished, he was asleep.

you climbed softly next to him, smiling and running a hand through his hair. he stirred, letting out a soft groan as he squeezed his eyes shut, clearly not enjoying the morning monaco sun that had decided to peek through his curtains.

“morning, sunshine,” you smiled. this made his eyes shoot open, hearing your voice right next to him rather than through a phone line.

he sat up quickly, laughing softly before pulling you close against his body, “no fucking way!”

you laughed with him, “surprise!”

he looked over at max, “were you in on this, too?”

max nodded, “yeah, figured you could use a little pick me up before you start racing again.”

and he was right. lando had been missing you like crazy, you had become the sole topic of all his conversations lately.

max had left the two of you alone for a while, you with your head on his chest as you laid in bed. you spent the time catching up, talking about anything and everything with his hands in your hair.

the monaco sun had finally set when max came knocking on his bedroom door, peeking his head in, “the guys are talking about hitting the club in a bit, you guys wanna go?”

you turned your head to look at him as he looked down at you, “‘s up to you,”

you shrugged, thinking about how good it could be to go out, especially during the last few weeks of summer. and so you did, thankful you had decided to pack a few dresses in your suitcase. lando had thrown on a button up and a pair of trousers, looking good even with the little effort he put in.

the music inside was loud, bass raking through your body as you walked through the crowd of people, lando’s hand on your waist. you had finally caught up with your friends, spotting the familiar face as you laughed and pulled her into a tight hug.

“oh my god, it’s been so long!” you sighed happily.

“i know! tell me everything i’ve missed!” flo smiled. and you did, you had caught her up to speed with all the little things she had missed. the summer you had been craving for was finally coming in little doses.

“you want a drink?” lando smiled, leaning his head down to your ear so you could hear him. you nodded, letting him squeeze your hand before he gently dropped it back to your side.

you had took part in the conversation between flo and max, laughing with them for some time before you realized it had taken lando longer than usual to reappear back at your side. you smiled at your friends and excused yourself, pushing through the crowd as you tried to find the curly haired boy who had your heart.

you looked up, finding him laughing at the bar. a set of freshly manicured nails resting against his chest, matching with long brown hair and a girl with long, tan legs laughing with him. her arm was around his neck, like she had been holding him close. too close.

you were suddenly frozen in your steps, staring at the two as you took in everything. a hand on your shoulder pulled you back to reality, followed by flo saying your name.

“y/n,” she mumbled softly, grabbing onto your arm, “i think we should go-“

you didn’t mean to snap, snatching your arm back from her grip as the anger tears welled up in your eyes. you made your way through the crowd with her hot on your heels.

lando’s eyes met yours and the girl untangled her arm from him quickly as he stood, “hey, baby, sorry there’s people i want you to-“

“don’t bother,” you said, his eyes meeting yours, “how long, lando?”

he looked at you confused, “how long what?”

“how long have you been letting her wrap herself around you knowing damn well i won’t find out just because im halfway across the world?”

flo stood next to you now, torn between dragging you out before it got worse or sticking up for you against her brother. her brother who was letting another girl hang on him, without a second thought.

“would you let me explain,” he said, “it’s not what it looks like.”

you shook your head, pushing past him and letting your shoulder bump into yours, “save it for someone else. i’m done.”

you didn’t bother looking back as people called your name. you pushed the doors open to the club and stepped out into the cool summer night in monaco, a city you had never been in as the hot tears flowed down your cheeks.

you had come to the city for one thing, to fix the way everything with lando had come crashing down so quickly so fast. just for the same thing to happen again.

Work Her Magic

There is some seriously cruel irony in posting the episode where Hazel's mom clearly wants to engage with her, but can't right now because she's busy (and thus Hazel's upset about how her mom is always working) IMMEDIATELY after the double-length episode where Dev was unable to get his dad's attention whatsoever. What the heck, Hazel? Did you learn nothing?

I love Hazel's parents so much. They're adorable. Marcus being a little jealous about how his wife's always talking to her publisher / coordinator when he wants to plan a date night is fantastic.

omfg, the title card was grown-up Hazel?? I was multi-tasking on these notes and thought that was her mom. She's ADORABLE.

What the fliiiip? I'm not sure I've ever loved a design more... This is so good. Her color scheme is the same. She's still predominantly blue and those pink bits resemble her shirt stripes, and she's still got green shoes. That's impeccable. A+ thoughtful design.

I love her... I have no 'fic ideas for her at this exact moment, but I like her a lot.

Is the silverware at this school made of wood? Wanda has a funny texture on her disguise.

Hazel is gossiping about herself with her mom at lunch. I'm bracing for Hazel to find out info she'd rather not hear, but so far everything is just Angela gushing over her. I love that.

I enjoy how Wanda has consistently put on shades this season. I was going to make a joke back in the dinosaur episode about how she did that in the OG series too. I think it was only twice, but those scenes are some of my signature memories of her (The Musical & trying to get her son out of Crocker's house during "Fairly Old Parent").

This was Cosmo as Rice President of Pixies Inc. (to me).

Crocker?? Huh. Can't say I'm surprised.

-> I've always headcanoned Crocker with witch genes due to the Alden Bitterroot connection. I wonder if he's aged or looks the same (In "Secret Wish," he looked the same after aging 50 years and claimed it's because he was altered to look like that even when he was 10, so it prevented further signs of aging).

-> My theory is that he'll resemble Jorgen and have a patch around his mouth. No justification for this beyond "That seems to be the style to symbolize an older character from the OG series." I still want to know if Doug Dimmadome is dead.

-> If this Crocker turns out to be Kevin, I'm gonna lose my very last marble. Doesn't look likely though due to the freckle placement in that title card. But can you IMAGINE...

Marcus only has 9 toes... Wh- Why does he have more than 8? I thought everyone had 8. Did he cut it one in half with the weedwhacker and count it separately?

The Galax Institute is celebrating its 96th annual event. If that's an in-city location, Dimmadelphia is at minimum 96 years old.

-> He's 100% meeting Crocker at this parascience convention. If he meets the Fentons with that ghost machine, that'd be great.

A.J. NAME CONFIRMATION!! ... I don't love it because I headcanoned him as Archimedes Junior and I think that's cooler than Anthony James Jr., but I'll accept it! Curse my slowness in getting my A.J.-centric multi-chapter out.

-> A.J. founded the Galax Institution at age 10 and is Marcus's hero. First of all, I love that, and second of all... good to know. I was pretty sure Dimmadelphia was still close to Dimmsdale, but it's always nice to have confirmation.

Also, I am once again asking people who have strong feelings that Chloe is a Mary Sue to give me their opinions on A.J., who ends world hunger in Season 2, works with the government at age 10, can build a time machine in 10 seconds with paperclips and string, and who apparently founded the Galax Institute as a child. They would be friends, I think.

Don't actually give me your opinions, but I do think about them a lot.

-> I'm sad my Happy Peppy Betty plotline has her moving to Brightburg instead of Dimmadelphia. It's not like I knew this was coming, but... SHE.

Angela (to me): This is my super hot husband. I love him very much and anyone who calls his interest in parascience dumb will get a high heel to the eye.

I can't believe Mark is banned from the institute. A.J., I have some questions.

I'm unclear as to why Cosmo and Wanda aren't trying to avoid the magical detectors? Why can't they just leave? I feel like this plot would work better if they'd been sleeping inside Hazel's bag.

-> I've been thinking this since Episode 1, but I'm starting to seriously debate changing all the times I had Crocker say "cryptozoology" in 'fic to "parascience" instead.

I am super puzzled that A.J. went into parascience after all the time he spent with Crocker. He certainly seems to believe it (unless there's a plot twist that he just wants to give people the opportunity to discover things but he doesn't personally believe in it), but like... that's a STORY. Are we gonna talk about that?

-> This dovetails so nicely into my "Norm & A.J." AU and my head is in my hands but there is nothing I can do about it right now. help.

Oh, I didn't clock that he was a janitor here. Either I was typing and missed that or it was said off-screen. Also I enjoy him crawling without using his hands.

It is the same sound; I looked it up. I don't know what to do with this information.

Is Crocker going to take Hazel's bag, but open it and ignore Cosmo and Wanda on the outside?

Wanda: Crocker used to terrorize our last godkid. Cosmo: And before that, he WAS our godkid Roy, Viv, and Chloe awkward monkey puppeting somewhere:

Okay, so... Cosmo and Wanda have clearly explained the godparenting basics to Hazel. She's aware she'll lose her memories. But... why didn't we get to see that?

The miserable godkids plot and the memory loss haven't been explained well in this series and I'm a little surprised, seeing as that's one of the biggest pieces of worldbuilding in the OG show. Since Hazel seems to have a loving home life, I wasn't sure if either rule was still canon until Poof-Peri showed up.

Wanda: Crocker would have to cover the entire building in a butterfly net to catch us. Which is impossible! Me: /"Viral Videots" flashbacks

Oh, please give me a sequel to one of my favorite jokes in the entire series...

Eh, I'll take it. I'm disappointed Cosmo and Wanda can still float, though. Hey, you guys aren't supposed to do that!

... Hm. I feel slightly unsatisfied, but I'm not sure I could put into words why. I didn't really have expectations and yet I feel confused.

Maxiel College AU where it’s a special day during junior year!

“C’mon one more DR!” Blake shouted from across the tennis court. The Austin sun beating down on them making the already humid day feel worse than it actually was.

“Yeah, nah mate,” Daniel called back as the three men walked toward the net where they had set their backpacks down to get in a quick tennis match. “Max is waiting for me. I promised I’d be back on time. He says it’s a special day.”

Daniel had been thinking all day about it.

Before leaving for class Max had whispered to Daniel something about a special day. In his sleepy haze all the Aussie could do was hum and try to pull his boyfriend back into the warm duvet covers away from the busy campus outside their window.

Every morning was a routine once the semester began. Max woke at 7 am for his 8 am lecture. Showered. Got dressed. Kissed Daniel before he headed out the door. Daniel, of course, didn’t have class until 1:30. He liked sleeping in and staying up late. Plus he worked at the local bar which meant late night shifts. Max didn’t mind it. They always made sure to leave the afternoons free around dinner time so they could catch up on the day before Max went to play FIFA or do homework and Daniel went to work.

“He said that? You don’t know what the special day is?” Scotty asked with a slight scoff knowing if he forgot a date Chloe would have his head.

Daniel rolled his eyes sliding his backpack onto his shoulders and hiding his sweaty curls under a black and green hat “no he didn’t say what it was. If I ask he might kill me so I’m off to get some flowers on my way home” he nodded hopping the day would reveal itself when he walked in the door.

After saying bye to Blake and Scotty, Daniel headed out to the local flower shop. It was small with a French exchange student behind the counter who flirted way too much with Max in his opinion. The green eyed student recommended a bouquet of roses. Cliche.

Instead Daniel opted for an assortment of red, yellow and white tulips. Like the ones Max spoke about from his home country. Daniel liked to get flowers often wanting to give Max a little piece of home since he couldn’t travel back to Holland often.

The jingle of his key alerted the cats of Daniel’s return to the small apartment. Once inside the cats curled around his ankles and purred against his leg welcoming him back. Daniel leaned down scratching both Jimmy and Sassy behind their ears with whispered ‘hey guys, where’s dad?’ He toed off his shoes by the door before walking towards the living room. Max wasn’t in his usual spot on the worn leather couch Daniel had practically begged Max to bring back after they found it on the side of the road last year.

“Hello?” He called out the crinkle of the cellophane echoing around the tulips in Daniel’s hand.

“Shit” Max’s quiet voice echoed coming from the kitchen. Daniel made his way over seeing Max fussing over…something? His broad shoulders hunched down pulling at the fabric of his black polo that were tucked into his jeans being held up by a black belt.

Max turned holding a tray in his hands with what should’ve been a cake. The white frosting and vanilla bread had clearly turned into a crumbly mess.

“It’s supposed to be a cake, of course, but I think I took the bread out too soon and it was too hot. Of course I just wanted it to be decorated before you got back-“ Max rambled. A grin spread on Daniels lips “a cake for this special day?” He asked trying to real more information out of his boyfriend about this mystery day.

Max raised an eyebrow and nodded “of course why wouldn’t there be a cake?” He says.

Cake. Birthday? No. Anniversary? No. Daniel still couldn’t wrack his brain about what this special day might be.

Max smirked at his boyfriend as he sets the tray down on the linoleum lined kitchen counter “you have no idea what today is huh?”

Shit. He was caught. Max could read him like a book but Daniel wouldn’t admit it of course. “What?! Of course I know what today is. I got you flowers. Tulips” he grinned handing over the bouquet.

Max inspects the flowers. Not as good as the ones from his hometown but he knew it was the thought that counted. Max looked his boyfriend in the eyes a grin on his lips as he speaks “then what is today?”

Daniel looks back for a moment. What other possible date would be important enough for a cake?

A laugh bubbles up from Max “you don’t even know!” he smirked happily moving to get a vase filled with water for his flowers. “Daniel it’s the day we met in class” he spoke over the water running into the green vase “three years ago, of course” he nodded shutting the water off and sliding the flowers into the water before setting them down “it’s called a meet cute. I think” he said before he gestured to the cake sat on the counter “that’s what Victoria called it. She said it would be cute to celebrate it.”

Daniel was stunned.

3 years. He couldn’t believe 3 years had flown by. He remembered walking into his Horticulture 120 lecture and the only spot left was next to Max at the front row. He was sure he’d drop the class. It was an elective after all. But then he turned and saw Max’s eyes. Blue. Like the Maldives. In that moment Daniel knew he had to stay. So he did and clumsily introduced himself. His braces giving him a slight lisp. But it was the best thing he had done. Now he had an apartment and two cats with that same boy. And they were celebrating meeting 3 year later.

Daniel gives his boyfriend a soft look before his own laughter filled the space between them “oh Maxy” he said “that’s adorable really. Thank you” he says admiring the icing work he had attempted winning his finger into the white frosting and licking it off his finger.

“Happy three year meet cute anniversary” he said leaning in kissing Max’s blushing cheeks.

Max smiled turning to look at his boyfriend “happy three year meet cute anniversary” he whispered before planting a kiss on Daniel lips.

jenny- blue🤷‍♀️ shes just a blue girly, food, shes picky as hell so so picky (sensory problems) i think french fries are a safe food for her, hard to mess em up (ah chili fries 😉) she prefers simpler foods, and also hates when her food touches (shes so me) also not fav but food related, she hates anything minty post squip and also wont drink mtn dew out of fear. WIP Wednesday on Saturday

It is so fucking dark y'all. Winter sucks, and America sucks and its really not great or easy to be alive. SO: lets write some fiction and be somewhere else for a bit.

This is Cider, a dark fairytale from a short story collection I wrote for NaNo on 2022. For @zyrafowe-sny, @campfire-octopus, @eriquin, @sourb0i, @stonemaskedtaliesin, @tamsinswriting, @kallisto-k,

Chloe rode along the fence, smiling to herself as the breeze stirred the leaves in the trees. She loved fall, with all the warm colors of the turning forest, golden and red leaves coating the trails and contrasting with the sharp green of the pines. The sky was bright, sunny, warming her shoulders through her down vest. The dappled shadows were colder, hinting at winter to come, foreshadowed by the crisp chill of the afternoon air. Chloe also loved everything about the barn. She found the smells of hay and horse and sweat just as comforting as the warm down vest that she had pulled on over her green Henley. Chancelor, her tall dappled grey gelding, was kitted out in a saddle pad and leg wrappings in the same green. As they walked along the sun dappled lane they made a fine pair: the tall woman, pale skin golden with freckles from the sun, blond hair framing a smooth oval face with high cheekbones, a sharp nose, full smiling lips; her bright eyed mount, grey goat shining with health, ears swiveling attentively to explore the sounds of the afternoon woods. Chloe’s eyes echoed the grey of her mount, deep and stormy, changing colors with her moods. She smiled to herself laughing at her own conceit, and encouraged the horse to move into a faster gate.

The light was orange and the shadows were long, even though it was only 4:30. She always came to ride out on the trails after a hard day at school, but it was in the fall that the rides took on a magical liminal quality, like she was riding into another land. Chancellor picked his feet up neatly, the clop of his shoes against the road a bright staccato in the music of rustling leaves and evening song birds. They trotted along the tree lined avenue and it seemed to stretch out into an endless gold tunnel. Chloe felt the weight of the day and the worries of college life fade away as the sun warmed her face and the wind flirted with the ends of her braid. As far as she was concerned, the ride could take forever. As they neared the  end of the lane where the  trees should thing  and the road  become visible, Chloe noticed a turnoff she didn't remember seeing before.  She tugged Chancellor to a halt and peered down the leaf shrouded path. It didn't  look graded like the trails she normally road on, more o f a think animal track,  but  it was not overgrown. She felt her curiosity  pique and clucked to the horse, turning  his head in this new  direction. Chance whickered  with interest, scenting the air and began to make his way  down the trail.  It should be fine, Chloe thought to herself,  the woods aren't big enough to get lost in. 

It wasn’t until later when the soft yellow light began to give way to evening’s purple, that Chloe first became confused, then concerned, then worried.  She had taken the same trails she always did, and now was about the time that she should be coming around the loop and seeing the familiar signs of home again. But she had no idea where she was or how to get  back to the barn. She breathed deeply to center herself an try to think Then she took another deep breath taking in the sweet sugary hints of apple on the air- an orchard?  But she should be coming up against the main road and a series of developments There were no apple orchards in  her normal  suburbia. Chance snorted and tipped his ears, whickering in interest and excitement. She followed his gaze and saw a small dirt road bending off of the lane and back further between the trees. She shifted her weight and clucked her tongue encouraging the horse to move that way The lane wove between progressively thicker trees with underbrush and gnarled berry bramble pushing closer and filling the ditch on the side of the road. Horse and woman peered through the sudden gloom, moving tentatively between the trees The  path suddenly opened up before them into a clearing, gold light spilling back into the world. The rich scent of apples was heavy enough to touch. Chance's ears were perked and interested; he didn't seem afraid. Chloe urged him forward. Hopefully more light meant people and she could figure out where the hell she was. The woods gave way to a grove of  trees planted in straight rows. Perfectly ripe apple trees spread out all around her. She turned to look back the way she came and saw no opening in the woods, no winding path.  Chloe shifted in the saddle, shock overwhelming the worry.  How could this be here? She looked around for a sign or a fence, some sort of markings of the world to help her orient, but found only forest, clearing, and apple trees. Her search complete, Chloe nodded, making a decision She  turned the horse between two rows and began to ride towards the center of the orchard. Maybe there was a farm house on the other side.  or a road.  And besides, she was starving and  this orchard was teeming with fruit; what could it hurt to  grab a snack?

Can we talk about Zoe’s design for a sec?

I love Chloe’s civilian form. She’s both cute and cool. I love the details of her outfit! Her hat, her leather jacket and her shoes are great! I really like that her color palet is composed of the primary color, it’s very pleasant to look at. She’s just adorable.

I prefer Vesperia’s design over Queen bee’s. Both are good, but I think Vesperia’s design has something more. It’s cooler, more dynamic, and maybe even a little agressive. I like it a lot! I think it was a great idea to give Zoe the vibe of a wasp (or hornet) rather than the vibe of a bee, v-shaped stripes suits her better than rounder stripes would. The bicolor hair is great too, it’s very pretty.

Also, I know that a lot of people hate Kitty Noire’s design, but I absolutely love it. Maybe I just have bad tastes, but I love the green/purple palette. I love the fact that Kitty Noire’s outfit looks less like a complete suit and more like a sport outfit, with a bit of skin showing on her harms and her ankles. I love the gloves too! I admit that the lipstick is a bit weird though… Personally I got used to it, and I even like it now.

Rise of Red!Miraculous Ladybug AU Ch 2 Notes

I wanted to elaborate a little more about the outfits I gave each character in their civilian and superhero form. I also wrote some other notes about the other characters I'm putting in the AU as well as some of my thoughts on writing the last chapter. Check it out :)

Let's start with Red's outfits

Civilian form:

So for both Red and Chloe, I gave them outfits more lowkey and doesn't necessarily scream MAIN CHARACTER from what they were wearing in the movie just so they can blend into the background a bit more.

For Red, I went with more of a loose/baggy fit to contrast from her Ladybug outfit.

Top: Like a typical bisexual, Red has a flannel (black majority with red plaid pattern) over a solid black crop shirt

Bottom: Gave her some maroon cargo pants and a pair of doc martens.

Hair: Stays the same in the movie where she has little heart shaped buns

Accessories: Didn't mention them so far, but Red wears a gold heart shaped locket.

Ladybug form:

Literally the first outfit that we see her in, in the movie.

The only real changes are: the mask is solid red with black spots for the ladybug feel, and then I changed her shoes to some knee high red boots (also spotted) just to give her a more superhero feel.

Next up is Chloe:

She has a lot more changes to her outfit in between her civilian form and her Chat Noire form.

Civilian form:

I imagined this to mainly be largely inspired by a school uniform since I mentioned in the latest chapter that Chloe was a transfer from All Girls Academy from Cinderellasburg. And sure she goes to Auradon prep now, but old habits die hard.

Top: Gave her a baby blue polo (inspired by clips of Malia in Are You Afraid of the Dark), and then I gave her Chad's letterman from the first movie

Bottom: Alternates between a pair of khakis and a white skirt. For shoes I gave her a pair of white hightop converse

Hair: Biggest difference lies in her hair in civilian form. Some have already picked up on it but as a civilian, Chloe basically keeps her hair up/styled and never loose and free like it is in the movie. I did this bc I wanted to play into the aspect of her being a lot more restrained/"perfect princess" in her civilian identity

Accessories: I also gave Chloe a hat because I saw the rehearsal with Malia in a white hat and I was like, aight, Chloe's civilian identity gets a hat. Plus it helps a little more with the keeping her hair in line/covered to further separate from the Chat Noire identity. Additionally, I gave her a pair of silver reading glasses cuz she's a nerd who read too much in the dark as a kid. Finally, she gets to keep her choker from the movie.

Chat Noire form

Her Chat Noire form is actually just a black/dark grey version of her outfit in the movie except for a replacement in the jacket. Instead of the padded material we have from the movie, I'm replacing it with a cropped leather jacket kind of like what Claw Noir wears in the Miraculous World movie.

Her choker gets a little bell :D

Can't forget the cat ears and mask. But instead of green eyes, I'm giving her eyes a dark shade of blue tint instead.

Finally, her hair is basically the same as it is in the movie where its all wild and free to show her freedom in the Chat Noire persona.

--Other Notes--

I haven't fully decided yet whether I want to make Chloe and Red actual princesses yet or just a modern equivalent to a princess. I'll figure that out by the next chapter or so.

Like the Power Rangers!AU that I wrote, I'm going to separate Ella, Bridget, and Charming's characters from their Cinderella, King Charming, and Queen of Hearts counterparts

Cinderella -> Cindy Charming (This one is pretty easy)

King Charming -> Reginald Charming (This comes from the Brandy Cinderella movie where the Prince has a long list of names so I just picked one out that sounded like a king's name)

Prince Charming -> Christopher Charming (again, comes from the movie, but he'll take the first name since it sounds more prince-ly) Also, like the Power Rangers AU, he is Chloe's cousin

Queen of Hearts -> Reina Hearts

lol yeah I didn't want to replace her name with Queenie or something but Reina means ruler so I went with that. I'll mention her character a little more later but like we all knew with Gabriel Agreste, Reina Hearts is the Card Queen

Card Queen stuff:

I didn't really see a proper way to fit the butterfly themes/akuma into her aesthetic and I didn't want to just say she's the female version of Hawkmoth

She's loosely inspired by Hawkmoth let's just say.

I switched out the term akuma with card/card soldier (akumatized -> Carded) to better play with her Card Queen theme

We'll find out later how the Card Queen's deck of cards play into the existence of the miraculous.

Thoughts about writing the last Chapter

So the process for writing out this chapter was pretty rough ngl. I knew I wanted to establish what a typical adventure with Ladybug and Chat Noire looked like, but its a lot easier said than done. First, I had to figure out the villain and I was thinking a more Animan inspired chapter so I went with the Jabberwocky. I initially wanted Red!bug to mimic the scene of Marinette jumping into the akuma's mouth and have Chloe!Noire freak out but the physiology of a jabberwocky wasn't making it work. At the very least I wanted to establish Red!bug's "elaborate"/out of the box schemes that put her more in line with the canon ml Ladybug to offset her sassy attitude as civilian Red.

I know I have it tagged as frenemies to lovers, but the enemies part hasn't necessarily shown up. I'm probably going to write a spin off for the series in terms of their origins and how they didn't start out on the right foot in the beginning. Luckily, we have the Jabberwocky line and its gonna start out like the original Adrienette misunderstanding until we get to where I started with their dynamics in the first chapter.

I currently have 11 (maybe 12) chapters planned out for this fic. In the rest of the chapters, I'm probably not going to write out their fight scenes as Ladybug and Chat Noire as detailed as I did in this second chapter, in favor of more internal monologue/character exploration. I'm someone really big on writing dialogue and I love writing Chloe's lines for the flirting scenes, but we'll see how much I can write before everyone understands that Chloe puts the charm in Charming.

Starting off the new year with some miraculous speculations!

I'm wondering what emotion Kagami was created out of, because I do think that she is one of the sentikids. Of course, we don't know if she was created by her mother (with that being how she went blind) or if she had a father once.

We know Felix and Adrien were created by jealousy and love. But what about Kagami? And Chloe and Zoe if they're also sentis?

I have a theory.

I think the emotions that the sentikids were created out of might have something to do with their eye colors (I say sentikids instead of sentimonsters because I'm referring to Adrien Felix and Kagami, and possibly Chloe and Zoe, and I dont know if the theory applies to all sentimonsters yet.)

Well, let's see here. Adrien was created out of love.

His eyes are green.

And a quick google search will tell you that green DOES REPRESENT LOVE!

And if youre wondering about Felix, because his eyes are also green, well, I dont think we even need to look it up to know that green represents jealousy.

So that leaves me wondering, what about Kagami? Her eyes are brown.

I dont know what brown represents off the top of my head, so I went to google it, and the results were things like loneliness and sadness. Maybe Kagami was created out of sadness? Maybe there was a Kagami Tsurugi before her? Who died? And she's the replacement? What if the Kagami before her was a SENTIMONSTER who got snapped away (or her amok got broken) at a young age? What if her father died creating the first Kagami, and her mother went blind creating the second? There are so many possibilities!

And loneliness would actually be a good fit. We see how Kagami is desperate for friends, and gets so heartbroken when they abandon her. Her mother could have created her out of sadness, while she was mourning the loss of her husband and daughter.

I think if Kagami did have a father, he died when she was very young. And if you're wondering why Kagami's father would die within just a few months, when Emelie and Colt lasted YEARS, well. By the time the peacock brooch got handed over to the Tsurugis, it had been used multiple times, possibly causing it to get more and more damaged along the way. First the Agrestes, then the Fathoms, and maybe even the Bourgeois and Lee families.

Speaking of which, it's time to get into Chloé and Zoé's backstories.

Both their eyes are blue, Zoe's a bit lighter of a shade.

Of course we know blue means sadness, but I don't think that fits either of these girls very well. Maybe the same situation I described with Kagami happened?

Or MAYBE, we can find some other meanings. Chloe's eyes are a bit darker of a shade of blue, and you know what that means? POWER! I can really see Audrey wanting a child for the power. But that does make me wonder who created Chloe, as both her parents are alive and well. I want to say Audrey hired someone to do it.

And Zoe? It must have been her father that created her. Possibly also for power, but light blue represents trust.

Maybe Audrey had some sort of affair going on with Andre, and Mr. Lee was mad when he found out about it. When he found out about all those LIES she fed him.

He used the peacock miraculous to create a daughter, one who was TRUTHFUL. He never lied to his daughter about anything, except the true way she was born. Eventually he gave up, not wanting to be a controlling figure, with this sickness overwhelming him, and sent her to boarding school, and maybe snuck the amok in her suitcase.

And now that Zoe had free will, you know what she did at her new school? That's right, LIED. As soon as she had free will, she faked a personality and kept the truth deep within, down in the very soles of those rainbow shoes.

Hey, maybe that's where the amok is. Maybe Zoe's amok is in one of those rainbow shoes she always wears, and it just so happens that it's not the shoe the akuma went in that one time with Sole Crusher.

Maybe, the shoes were some gift Audrey gave Mr. Lee when they were younger and a couple in high school or something. Maybe he saw it as one of the many lies she fed him, and, well, he really did love those shoes, so we wanted there to be at least SOME truth in them.

Also, maybe Nino and Chris are sentimonsters and that's why Nino's parents are missing.
