i know you didnt reblog that post but im curious, top 10 characters of all time!!
Hiiii!!! I'm always happy to rant about all the characters I keep in special jars xD
(The list isn't in any specific order because I honestly don't think I could choose just ONE favorite above the rest)
1. Daud from Dishonored: he's a total piece of shit, a pathetic magic man full of death and guilt and I love him, which means I want to stab him with a fork
2. Billie Lurk from Dishonored: she's also full of guilt (most of my faves are lol). Billie is so damn cool and she can have a little murder, as a treat. Her toxic father/daughter dynamic with Daud drives me insane (she also needs to stab him with a fork, tbh)
3. Hadrian Blackwater from the Riyria series: a gentle giant with an equally giant sword. A total sweetheart (also filled with guilt... what a surprise), but also very much the most lethal man in the room.
4. Cassandra Cain from DC comics: did I mention guilt??? And redemption???? I love her so, so much. She's so important to me.
5. Damian Wayne from DC comics: I'm sure by now you're already tired of me repeating "guilt and redemption". Anyway, he's my little boy and he deserves all the pets.
6. Selina Kyle from DC comics: MY QUEEN. MY GODDESS. She could slap me and I would thank her. She could empty my wallet and I would offer my bank information as well. She could...
7. Viktor from Arcane: I can't begin to describe how I feel about Viktor. I relate to him a normal amount.
8. Éowyn from LOTR: the badass shieldmaiden or Rohan, so full of bravery and compassion and love.
9. Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit: the epitome of "yeah I'll do it but I'll complain the whole time". Every time Bilbo thinks about how much he misses his sofa and his books I mutter a little "same, dude". He's just like me fr.
10. Inej Ghafa from Six of Crows: amazing, breathtaking, wonderful, badass, the world doesn't deserve her but she deserves her own pirate ship so she can hunt down all the assholes who hurt her and others <3
11. The Uncanny X-Men: I had to mention them as a bonus, okay? I tried to pick just one character of that era of X-Men (my favorite lineup of the team), but I genuinely couldn't. I love them all so much (except you, Charles Xavier. You can go eat dirt)

Ugh I’m constantly stalking your blog lol! Your writing is just so good haha! I was hoping to get a kinda different story I guess, where the reader is like pretty young (late teens - early twenties) and is new to the treasure hunting business, so Chloe and Nadine take the reader under their wing and let them come along but are super protective of them lol 💚
A/N: Hello there! Apologies for the delay (that’s an understatement lol). Love the idea for this, I wrote this as bullet points so I hope that is okay and sorry if this isn’t exactly what you wanted. Hope you enjoy!
Being new to the whole treasure hunting business meant that you weren’t too familiar with many people in the business, and to be honest you found it quite difficult to be able to find an opportunity.
Despite your vast knowledge on history and various cultures, not many other treasure hunters in the business wanted to take a gamble to hire someone new and not to mention very young.
It was then left to yourself to start your new adventure as a treasure hunter on your own, albeit it was very dangerous but you were more than capable of taking care of yourself give or take a few close calls.
It wasn’t long before you crossed paths with Chloe and Nadine who just happened to be looking for the same artifact as you.
You had quite the rich knowledge surrounding the artifact and they just happened to have the right resources.
Being rather impressed with the information you were able to provide, you decided to team up on this particular treasure hunt, agreeing in advance to have an equal cut should this be a success.
Truth be told, both Chloe and Nadine were rather impressed from the very start with your knowledge and skills despite your young age.
Given the success of the job, neither were ready to part ways with you, and you were glad since you didn’t want to either.
So you struck up an offer to continue to work together to go on further treasure hunts.
I would definitely see both Chloe and Nadine being very protective of you, they almost see you as a younger sibling. Despite knowing that you are more than capable of taking care of yourself, you often notice that that one or the other is keeping a close eye on you.
Nadine would definitely make sure to teach you some basic combat and self defense moves just for precaution should you get separated. Honestly, you couldn’t have asked for a better teacher.
With Chloe, she would teach you the ins and outs of the treasure hunting business, given her own vast experience over the years on what people to look out for and how to get yourself out of a bad situation as there have been plenty of such cases.
Over the course of time working together with Chloe and Nadine, you found that you could trust them and depend on them fully.
You truly felt that you had two big sisters who had your back and you had theirs.

Water in my ear
The first mistake was dismissing the early signs of the infection. The second was getting onto the plane home with a burning hot ear. Nadine could have burst her eardrum. She should have known better.
It was just so stupid that after all the danger and risks they took, some water in her ear was what ended up getting her.
Nadine swallowed, and it hurt. The pain radiated through the entire side of her head. She had to keep taking the antibiotics as the doctor prescribed, which meant she had to eat, no matter how little of an appetite she had. Nadine swallowed another painful bite of apple.
She was in a hammock hooked between two walls of an armory. Probably not ideal for someone having intermittent dizzy spells. At her flat in Johannesburg, she'd just be set upon by relatives. She was lying low in an old Shoreline hideout near Cape Town instead. And why was it comforting to her, being alone and surrounded by weapons with a book?
The compound was half-subterranean, hidden by nondescript office buildings on all but one side, and the alarms and locks didn't depend on the frequently load-shedding mains electricity. The entrance was a narrow passageway behind a warehouse. The only Shoreline personnel with knowledge of or access to the location were either reading Tom Clancy inside it or dead.
Sorry, former Shoreline personnel.
I could bury the guns, Nadine thought.
The Kalashnikovs filling the room like sharp stalactites would most likely fall into the wrong hands if she was to unload them on the market. Pun unintended.
I could put soft lighting in and add marble countertops and built-in storage. Charge people to spend vacations in a unique doomsday-prepper-themed AirBnB.
Nadine's ear throbbed. She wriggled deeper into the blanket. The building's end-to-end silence was its own security feature. The scratching of a mouse's feet would be audible.
Unless it was on the side of the wrong ear.
Nadine's phone buzzed. It was Chloe again. She would never have imagined feeling more able to talk to Nathan Drake's old flame than her own family.
Chloe was telling her about wanting to be involved in her local Hindu community more now. She was reading more about it. "In a personal way, you know? I never felt this close to it when Dad was telling me about it."
"What book are you reading right now?" Nadine said.
"The Mahabharata."
Chloe said it so casually.
"The...the whole thing, Frazer?"
"What, like it's hard?"
Nadine fought back a scoff. It would only make her pain worse. "Whatever. I thought you'd recommend an entry-level book to modern Hindu practice or something."
"I guess I want to make sure I'm...I don't know."
Chloe was sighing. God, that had to be bad. Chloe had to be spilling her guts right now if she was letting herself sigh. And there was that nervous laughter of hers.
She wanted to make sure she was doing it correctly. Because Chloe was trying to find one side of her roots and she was guilty for not seeking it sooner. And she was having doubts she even could, because while not everyone had Asav-level epithets to shout, being multiracial was complicated.
And it wasn't like Nadine could tell her something that would make it easier.
"I'm not taking up too much of your time, love?"
"No," Nadine said. "It's good to have a distraction, anyway."
"From what?"
"Ear infection." Nadine had to laugh saying it. "Remember when I got water in my ear?"
There was a slam on the line.
"WHY didn't you TELL me?!"
Nadine winced and pulled the phone away. "Shit! Ow!"
"You let me go on and on about--" Chloe was furious.
"Shut up, Chloe! I--I like hearing about how you feel!"
"--bloody hell! Where are you?"
Nadine muttered, "Nowhere close, if that's what you're asking."
"Did you--Nadine, did you already have it on the flight?!"
"Ja."
"BUGGER! You shouldn't have got on the--"
"Ja," Nadine was speaking through her teeth now. "Stop yelling or I'll hang up."
"Some military professional," Chloe said.
Nadine couldn't even grumble. It hurt. "Because in the military you get excused from air offensives because of water in your ear." Besides helicopters did not share the ear-exploding air pressure differences of commercial airliners. Nadine could never justify the cost of a fighter jet.
"I thought you were about avoiding risks."
It was choppy, like Chloe was pacing about her house gesticulating wildly at the phone.
"Chloe, please stop talking about it," Nadine said. "It's an ear infection. I'm not going to die."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Why was Chloe's voice so broken when she said that. Why did it make Nadine's heart hurt.
"What would you have done?"
"I don't know? Encouraged you to change your flight? Paid for another few nights at the hotel so you could wait till you got better? Gone home with you if your stubborn ass insisted on not wasting money on the nonrefundable--"
"You don't need to babysit me," Nadine snapped.
Chloe fired back, "You sure babysat me, mate, when I had my little coma after getting my bell rung back there."
Nadine swallowed again, and it hurt, again, even without a piece of apple.
She said, softly, "And have you gone to get checked for multiple concussions like I asked you to?"
"What would they do for this old brain in this rubber skull, Nadine?"
Nadine would have laughed, if wouldn't hurt so bad.
"Tell you not to drive until you recover. Don't start. Shut up, Chloe. Tell you to get plenty of rest and come back for follow-up so they can keep an eye on the serious complications that can come from a traumatic brain injury. Oh, just a few things."
"I'll make an appointment," Chloe said. "Just...please tell me where you are. Nadine, I need--"
"You don't."
"Let me--it's not like it's contagious--I could make things a bit easier at least--"
Nadine said, "Talking to you like this already does."
"My ass it does," Chloe wasn't going down without a fight. "You probably have a fever and aren't drinking enough water and I could help you around if you're dizzy and--"
"Ugh!" Nadine bit the edge of her palm. She hated how badly she wanted it. "Shit, Frazer, I'll text you the location. Good luck finding it. You can see a doctor while you're here so I'll know you aren't lying about getting your head checked."
Nadine couldn't believe she was doing this.
"I would never," Chloe said sweetly. "See you soon, love."

Day 1: Discovery
Nadine *Lounging on couch of rented Hostel researching the excavation site they are headed towards* Chloe: CHINA!! *bursts into room holding a small box cradled into her side* Nadine *Jolts up scared at the sudden noise* Chloe: You will NEVER guess the amazing treasure I found! Nadine: This better be good Frazer... Chloe: It absolutely will. It'll make scaring you absolutely worth it's value in gold, promise! Nadine: You did not scare me Frazer. Chloe: *Wink so quick you would think you imagined it as she sits on the couch next to Nadine* Sure I didn't China. Nadine: Uggh, what is this treasure then? *trying to peak at the guarded box* Chloe: Well, as I said, I have found the greatest treasure ever! Nadine: That's a load of- Chloe: Or at least the greatest in a long while. *smiles at Nadine's irritated look* Nadine: *Unimpressed look* ... Chloe: Have a look. *slides over box* Nadine: *Unboxes the lid with care* Chloe: *Still smiling and smile growing bigger* Nadine:...It's a mirror? Why...? Is this some sort of relic? Chloe: *Absolutely beaming now* Dunno about that, but you're the one who's brought 'relic' and it's associations into play. Nadine: *Furrowed brows* What? Nadine, you're sounding like Sully. Chloe: *Goes in for a cheek kiss* Nadine: *turns at the shift at proximity* Accidental kiss happens. Nadine pushes Chloe back, accidentally sending her flying towards the arm of the couch. Nadine: *Places box down and stands up red faced* Fraze?!- Chloe: *Chuckling* Talk about a kiss for the records... Nadine: Chloe?! Explain yourself. Chloe: *Rubbing back smiling at Nadine* I can't believe I'm having to spell it out for you Nadine. The 'greatest' treasure I found is you.
Nadine:... Nadine: Ohh... Chloe: Sorry, thought I was being coy. Nadine: Don't be-sorry that is! Chloe: *Raises eyebrow* Nadine: Don't be sorry. You were-this was all pretty coquettish, so uh...you did well. Chloe: *Chuckles standing up from the couch * Oh yeah? Nadine: *weakly clears throat and makes her way back to the couch* Yeah and...if we're partners meaning to share the wealth of our discoveries...*Grabs box from it's temporarily forgotten place* I want you to know you're an invaluable treasure to me too. Nadine: *Hands box back over to Chloe* Chloe: *Takes box* I said you're my greatest, *Peaks into the inside of the box enough to see the mirror* not invaluable... Nadine: Hmmph *Crosses her arms* Chloe: But...*Tosses box onto couch next to the standing couple* glad to know the feeling is mutual. *Steps towards Nadine* Nadine: *Pulls Chloe into a kiss* Ao3 Link:

Imagine the world premiere of PlayStation All Stars 2 is the scene where Joel is about to die with Ellie pinned but suddenly Ellie disappears causing mass confusion with Abby’s group before she reappears in the same spot beating the shit out of a Helghast trooper on the ground with Chloe Frazer, Freya and Jill Valentine cheering her on.

genuine question, i like hearing about what people associate w characters and put in graphics with them: what made you pick the white models for the chloe frazer headers? (and anything else you'd like to talk about in those collages but i think i was able to figure out the texts and the san junipero associations :D)
hello!! as far as i remember, i just picked because it matched the picture and the psd. as much as i tried to make it to be more associated to her, most pictures i tried to save through pinterest looked awful and didn't even got close to matching with the psd. i made it in 2021, at the beginning of the year, before even opening vge lol and they were mostly for practice so i don't recall exactly what was in my mind when i made them, i think i did it mostly to match the pic, yk? not focusing that much on the message or association behind it. but now, when i do collages, like for example my latest collage lockscreen and the ones i'm currently working on as well, i've been trying harder to make it more associated to the character in the picture or their story in general. soo yeaa it doesn't associate to chloe that much, i'll give u that, i even tried but the collage folders pictures i have saved here on my laptop are veryy limited as i imagine u can see, so that's basically it lmao

Uncharted 2 cast
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The game was followed by a sequel titled Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception in 2011, and was re-released on PlayStation 4 as part of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection. It also enjoyed great commercial success, with over six million copies sold worldwide. It received Game of the Year accolades from numerous publications and award events, and is considered to be one of the greatest video games ever made, and among the most significant titles for the seventh console generation. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves received critical acclaim for its elaborate set pieces, character design, storytelling, graphics, technical innovation, and gameplay mechanics. This allowed the developers to record extensive motion capture and more in-game cinematic sequences, as well as include an online multiplayer component a first for the series. Naughty Dog also aimed to improve the game's proprietary engine, creating the game to run exclusively on the company's Naughty Engine 2.0 system. The development team drew inspiration from explorer Marco Polo, and specifically, from his expeditions through archipelagos and eastern Asia. Set two years after the events of Drake's Fortune, the single-player story follows Nathan Drake, who partners with Chloe Frazer and Elena Fisher, as they search for the Cintamani Stone and city of Shambhala, whilst battling a mercenary group led by war criminal Zoran Lazarević.ĭevelopment for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves began immediately following the critical and commercial success of the first entry.
Tumblr media
It is the second game in the Uncharted series, and was released in October 2009 for PlayStation 3. For the sake of convenience, the ages of the actors will reflect their appearance in the game, and not their possibly younger age in the film.Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is a 2009 action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. There is also the issue of Tom Holland's age, which is significantly younger than Drake's in the first game.
Tumblr media
It's not even known exactly what characters will show up, so this list will take characters from all four mainline titles. With this in mind, Screenrant has taken it upon themselves to cast the rest of the roles in the Uncharted movie. All that's known about it is that Tom Holland is taking on the role of Nathan Drake. The future of the series is uncertain in the gaming space, but Hollywood has picked up the title and is going forward with plans to make a movie. Each fan has their own personal favorite, but they all agree that each sequel upped the ante with the set pieces, graphical fidelity, and the variety of settings. Three more numbered titles were released, as well as a PS Vita spinoff and lengthy Expansion to Uncharted 4 called Lost Legacy. It was also one of the most beautiful games out there at the time. While the company's previous efforts would feel right at home on a Saturday morning cartoon block, Uncharted felt more like an Indiana Jones film. This action title, and PlayStation 3 exclusive, was a swashbuckling adventure filled with explosions, villains, romance, and humor. It wasn't until 2007 that they tried for a more mature game with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. After leaving the bandicoot behind, they made the Jak and Daxter series for the PlayStation 2, a similarly imaginative game with unique characters and atmosphere. People came for the cute visuals and lovable mascot, but stayed for the tight controls and imaginative level design. Naughty Dog first caught the public's attention with Crash Bandicoot.

"Are we sure she's even going to show up?" You wondered, letting your eyes wander across the many faces walking around. No one seemed to fit the description of the girl Sully had given you.
"Oh, she will. Listen, Chloe is your girl when it comes to anything you need in Barcelona." Sully tried to inform you quickly when he saw the woman approach.
You looked up. First, you saw her black boots, then her tall tanned legs, then a beautiful red sundress along with a leather jacket before your eyes fell on her angelic face, enveloped by waves of black hair that bounced against her shoulders which each step she took.
"Sully." She nodded at him, "Good to see you." Her Australian accent was clear, and so was her sarcasm directed at the man next to you.
"Chloe," He nodded, and immediately went to business, "Why get out of your way and meet us here, couldn't we have gone to the house?"
"And get followed? No." She shook her head in disbelief at his stupidity.
"We weren't followed."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah! I made sure of it," Sully stated matter-of-factly.
Chloe tilted her head and smiled playfully, "I've been on your tail since the airport."
Sully stumbled over his words, "Since the airport?!"
"Yeah, so, definitely not going to the house." She turned to Nate and you, who had, up until now, stood to the sidelines and watched their interaction.
"Who're they?"
"They're friends."
"Yeah no... Sully doesn't have any friends and I should know, since I'm one of them."
Her eyes seized you up and the ghost of a smirk played across her mouth, "Who's this lovely lady?"
Sully gave your back a nudge and you stumbled forward, slightly, after taking too long to respond, "Y/N, pleased to meet you."
Chloe eyed the hand you had glued to your shoulder bag, felt bold and pried your fingers away. She shook your hand gently,
"Chloe Frazer. Nice to meet your acquaintance." She looked up at you from under her eyelashes, sending a wink your way that made your heart flutter.
Sully merely rolled his eyes and continued, all while Chloe kept hold of your hand,
"Consider them colleagues. Allies. Lovers of the same trade."
You felt her thumb caress the valleys and hills of your knuckles. She had your total attention and she knew it. You were too enamoured by the woman and her whole being to notice her other hand slipping into your bag.
"Why's he here?" Chloe nodded her head at Nathan, who immediately became defensive.
"Why am I- Why are you here?" He crossed his arms over his chest.
Chloe let out a sigh and gave Sully a look that screamed unbelievable, "Clearly you didn't tell him."
"What? Tell me what?"
Sully sighed, knowing he needed to break the news now, "Chloe has the second cross."
"What?!" You both turned to the man, then back to Chloe who sarcastically squeezed her eyes shut and squinted her nose at you guys, as if this was funny.
Nate spluttered beside you.
"So we have to work together?"
"Wouldn't that be something, love?" Her Australian twang made you look back into her cocoa-coloured eyes. She winked, again.
"So let's give it-- the cross." Sully pressed and took a quick look around before opening his hand.
"Yeah, no. Definitely not. You expect me to just trust you and give it to you?"
"That's usually how a partnership goes." Sully motioned for her to hand it over, but she reclined. Your hand dropped to your side as she let go.
"Never again. I learned my lesson." She turned on her heel, but looked back directly into your eyes, "It was lovely to meet you."
She walked away.
"Hey! You have no clue where to look!"
"Neither do you!" She yelled back, singsonging.
You watched her walk away, how the red dress that complimented her perfectly fluttered in the warm Barcelona wind, when suddenly you heard Sully panic from next to you.
"Y/N, check your bag- check it, now."
Completely dumbfounded, you opened the flap of your shoulder bag and ferociously moved your hand around, only to come to the conclusion that it was entirely empty aside from your phone and wallet.
Sully's eyes widened, "Hey! Go after her, you two! She took our cross!"
Chloe, who realised she had been caught, turned around with a cheeky smile, "I had to. Sorry, love!" She winked again, before jumping down a fence to run away.
But she didn't need to apologise, not to you, for she already had you wrapped around her finger.

IMAGINE:
Dancing with Sam at a bar in Africa.
Tumblr media
The gang had just wrapped up a successful job finding a lost African artifact so you decide to go out and celebrate
You’ve probably been dancing already (with Elena or Chloe- why not both? lmao)
The three of you are dancing all over each other and when you break away is when you really start to get down
You swing your hips to the rhythm of the music, too drunk to care who’s watching
Sam was definitely watching
He sits next to Nate and Sully just watching intently
Gripping his glass so hard you would think he’d break it
He watched as you held your hair in your hands, swaying to the beat and he gulped hard
The song changes to So Mi So and Nathan goes out to Elena; they dance together, Chloe drags Sully on the floor
You head back to the table to drink again
After finishing his Nth drink, he slams the table with his hand.
“Fuck it.” He says simply as he watches you approach
He stops you and grabs you by the hand, dragging you back to the dance floor and pulling you close
“Do that thing with your hips again.” He whispers roughly in your ear
You’re absolutely entrancing to him and he finds the rhythm you’re on, your hips guiding his
He runs his calloused fingers down the sensitive parts of your arm, down your back and sides before his hands find yours
He pulls you close as you grind into him and that familiar tightness forms in his jeans
You turn with your back against him, still swinging your hips to the music
He pulls your hair off of your neck and presses slow kisses down to your shoulders as he caresses your waist
As your butt rubs against his clothed member, you feel yourself getting hotter and he takes advantage of the moment
He turns you to face him once more, resting his forehead on yours
He crashes his lips into yours and your hands are roaming each other’s bodies
He breaks the kiss breathlessly and growls
“We gotta get outta here. Like now.” He says eagerly and you giggle, following him as he leads you back to his hotel room
This song put me in that mood and it’s late 😎💖

what if Chloe, who displayed her selflishness/guardedness during the first game, looks after Nadine’s houseplants super carefully in the second or like, just slices up fruit and leaves it in tupperwares in the fridge for Nadine’s midnight snacking needs. What if there’s a scene where they order a bottle at a bar and Chloe pours both of their glasses. what if there’s a second game

I Like You A Lot

Author’s Note: this chapter kinda sucks but I swear it’ll get better 😭💕
Chapter 15
Sunny’s POV
A massive armored truck with a turret drifted by our hiding spot in the tall grass. It hadn’t seen us yet. In the corner of my eye, I spotted a bit of movement. It was Nadine creeping up behind two men to take them out with her powerful kicks. I tapped Chloe on the shoulder and pointed in her direction. “Look at this idiot.” I mumbled and she sighed, shaking her head.
“She’s really stepped in it now.” She whispered. The rain was still pouring heavily and showed no signs of easing up. Wind blew, shifting the rain a little and making it harder to see. I ran my hand down my face to rid it of excess water only for me to be soaked again. It was pointless but I kept doing it. “Alright let’s move… Keep it quiet, yeah?” She asked. I nodded and followed her out of the tall grass to take cover behind a massive boulder. That’s when I saw it. Flipped upside down with the front totaled, burning in thick black smoke and licks of flame was the cherry red 4x4. My jaw dropped as I watched it burn.
“That little…..” I knocked my head against the boulder in anger, clenching my fists.
“Not getting that deposit back.” Chloe commented, jokingly.
“Yeah no shit.” I growled, flexing my nostrils as I shook my head. “And my snacks were in there… all my guns…. Fuck….”
“I’m sorry, love.” She said placing a hand on my shoulder as she looked around the corner. Two guards were pacing the area with their Type 95s. I noticed them too. “You take right, I’ll take left?” She whispered and I nodded, pulling my knife from its holster and readying it in my hand.
It was easy. They didn’t hear us coming. Chloe jumped on her guy’s back and just put him to sleep. Me on the other hand, covered my guy’s mouth and sliced his throat. “Jesus, Sunny.” Chloe marveled. I shrugged carelessly as I pulled the gun from the man bleeding out in the grass.
“I know. I’m just angry.” I said, checking my ammo clip. “We gotta take out that truck but we’re gonna need something heavier. These guns aren’t even gonna put a dent in it.”
“If you can cover me, I’ll skim through the crates and see what explosives I can find.” She said.
“Of course, sis!” I sighed. Chloe flashed a smile and we began to move accordingly.
We snuck through any open ruins, taking out men with as much stealth as possible. The fact that it was raining and thundering so hard aided in covering our sound more and nobody ever saw us coming. We found an RPG stock and a few warheads to use. We rounded up at least six heads. In our idiotic greed, we tried to shoot for eight but just as Chloe had partially broken into the next crate, the armored truck stopped right next to us. “Ah, shit—” I exclaimed, reaching out to grab my friend and pushing her down into cover as the truck released a barrage of thick bullets.
“This should be enough!” She yelled to me over the noise. I just nodded and began to screw in a warhead.
“Wait for it!” I shouted, waiting in cover for the bullets to end. The turret had to reset eventually. We kept our heads down for a few more seconds. “Wait for it….” The bullets kept going and going, just about to break through the stone barrier until suddenly it stopped. The turret had run out of bullets. I smirked and immediately sat up to take aim at the grill. “Bitch.” I mumbled before pulling the trigger to blow it up. In the fiery explosion, the truck hopped a little, bouncing on its suspension.
“Do it again!” Chloe said hurriedly, holding out another warhead.
“Gimme a minute!” I exclaimed, preparing for the next one. But it was too late. The truck had reloaded. “We gotta find cover again. They’re gonna blow a hole through here.” She nodded as I slipped the heavy RPG over my shoulder and we ran across the field, dodging bullets swiftly.
In our moment of splitting up, I climbed to the top of a ruin and took cover there. My heart was racing and my breathing was shaky. I prepared myself to take aim again and shot off another warhead at the truck. “I HOPE THAT HURT!” I heard Chloe exclaim. When I looked down, she was fighting off a handful of men. She always was a shit talker in a fight. I smirked in pride as I changed the warhead again. I looked around to see if I could see the truck again only to instead find Ms. Ross and her crazy self. Low and behold, she was holding her own, also taking on her share of men. I could see a few more coming towards both women and I figured maybe I’d help them out. I pulled my long gun and began to take aim. ‘Gonna take a bit of ammo from this distance but I think I can get ‘em….’ I thought, biting my lip as I tried to focus. I could feel the recoil as I pulled the trigger, the power behind each shot. I took each of them out then turned to help Nadine. She actually managed to fight them all off. All but one. She didn’t see before but she missed him. And he hid behind a barrier, ready to take his shot. I watched in worry as Nadine turned, startled as she stared down the barrel of this man’s handgun. Nervously, I took aim. I used so much ammo, I was almost sure I was out of bullets. But I pulled the trigger all the same and I put a hole in his head before his finger could even ghost his. His body hit the ground and Nadine turned to see where the shot had come from. When she locked eyes with mine, I shot her a smirk and a swanky salute, tossing the gun off of my post. She stared at me with a pissed off expression before making her way towards the cow statue. On the platform was a crank to turn just like the others. That pesky armored truck followed her over and began to shoot off more bullets. But it was weak. Smoke rose from the grill, sparks flying as the bits of loose metal scraped against each other when it drove along the rocky terrain. It was on its last legs.
“Nadine! Take cover!” I shouted to her and she ran to safety behind a pillar as I readied the RPG again. With that, I squeezed the trigger and watched the final warhead fly to the truck, exploding in a great fire as it collided with the weakened vehicle. And just like that, it was over. I took my grappling hook and managed to get it around a tree branch. “Chloe, to the statue!” I called before swinging across and landing in a puddle with a splash. Nadine appeared from behind the pillar, barely able to look at me as she got ready to push the crank. “Need some assistance?” I asked her. She wasn’t very reactionary. She crinkled her brows and grabbed a bar, ready to push. I sighed and grabbed the other. With a brief count off, the two of us were turning the crank. As Chloe climbed her way up the platform, the bell in front of the cow seemed to slide open on the side like a door, displaying a deep stairwell. I opened my mouth to say something to Nadine but she’d already turned on her heel to go inside and out of the rain.
“You’re welcome!” Chloe sang to her, expecting her to be thankful that we just saved her skin. I groaned and shook my head, stepping out of the way for them as I wiped the continuous streams of rain water from my eyes pointlessly. Nadine turned to look at her with an audacious expression, her face screwed up into a snarl. Chloe chewed on her lip nervously as she approached.
“You lied to my face—” Nadine attacked.
“I didn’t lie! I just left out the part about Sam….” Chloe replied in defense as she headed towards the newly opened doorway. Nadine scoffed and forced a laugh.
“Incredible—”
“Imma need y’all to stop fightin’. Okay- Asav’s got the disc and we need to hurry up n’ catch him—”
“‘We?’” Nadine looked at us incredulously, laughing preposterously. Chloe sighed, throwing her hands up and clenching her fists in frustration as she tried to find the right words. “Spit it out!” She snapped at her.
“Okay!” Chloe cracked under her pressure. “Look, I…. Cards on the table… I need your help.”
“You should’ve thought about that before—”
“And if you want the tusk, you’re going to need mine. You’re going to need Sunny’s.” Chloe said. I crossed my arms and sighed, avoiding Nadine’s gaze as she spoke. She raised her shoulders and opened her arms. “Look, I screwed up, alright?” She said, pushing her bangs out of her face. Nadine placed her hands on her hips and raised a brow.
“This is your idea of an apology?” Nadine scoffed. Chloe just shrugged.
“If it helps keep your head in the game, then sure—”
“Chloe!” I snapped, looking at her. Jesus, this woman had a hard time saying the “S” word. She looked at me in confusion as Nadine pushed by her, annoyed. I gestured to her very obviously and gave her a look. She needed to fix this thing with Nadine. With a sigh, Chloe intercepted her path towards the stairs.
“Look, we both have something to lose here, right? All of us?” Chloe tried to reason but every word that came out of her mouth was the wrong thing. I shook my head, pinching the bridge of my nose. I couldn’t even watch. Nadine stared at her a moment before speaking up.
“Just so we’re clear: My priority is the tusk. Not Sam Drake,” she said looking at me with burning eyes then back to Chloe. “And most certainly not you.” With that, she walked by her, bumping shoulders with me roughly as she pushed by to descend the stairwell. I sighed as lightning cracked across the dark and rainy skies. Much like some pig headed guy, Chloe shrugged it off and tried to wipe some of the dirt from her face.
“What the fuck was that?” I said, raising my voice at her. Chloe shook her head.
“I said sorry—”
“No. No you didn’t, Chloe- you made excuses.” I called her on it, poking her in the chest. She got quiet, placing her hands on her hips and rocking her weight back and forth. She bit her lip to keep from exploding but her attempt failed. She groaned loudly, throwing her hands in the air.
“Well, what the bloody hell do you say to a woman that amazing?” She retorted. There it was. She shook her head at a loss. “How do I patch this up? Everything that comes out is wrong. I don’t just… do this.” I chuckled to myself, amused by the mess the three of us were. Not a single one of us were perfect by any means.
“None of us do apparently. But someone told me somethin’ recently. She said, ‘There’s no point in bein’ closed off. Especially with the life we live.’” I told her looking down the stairwell after Nadine. I locked eyes with her and gave her the most serious expression. She gasped to herself, that same frightened expression Nadine had when she realized her feelings was now on her face. She searched my face for answers I didn’t have and I just blinked at her. “You need to fix it, Chlo.” With that, she gave a deep sigh.
“Alright…. I get it.” She nodded.
“Suck it up, buttercup!” I said, slapping her ass. She gave a soft chuckle and started down the stairs with me at her tail.
As we entered the dark and wet hallway, we watched Nadine pull a crank and the door on the bell slid shut behind us. Even upset, she still didn’t want us followed. What was bad for us was bad for her. As we walked down the dim hall, a bit of smoke seemed to hang in the air. Plants were wild and overgrown, covering the walls and pillars, simply thriving off of the mist in the atmosphere. We walked down several stairways and admired a number of carvings. Then suddenly, a loud explosion echoed through, stopping us in our tracks. Little bits of debris fell from the walls and ceiling as slight pressure pushed at our tired bodies. “What the hell was that?” I asked nervously.
“Exactly what it sounded like.” Nadine answered, curtly.
“Taking shortcuts, eh?” Chloe mumbled to herself in frustration as we began a light jog down the endless flights of stairs towards the light at the end of the hall.
We found ourselves standing at a wall with beautiful stone carved work. This one of the same Nandi statue outside, a line of people in single file entering the bell just as we had. It was all so surreal. We were taking the same journey as the Hoysala to Belur. Chloe flashed her light on it, marveling at it all. “Well I’ll be damned…. The kings led their people through these tunnels… We didn’t find an entrance. This is the back door.” She smirked. I could feel my head nodding as I stared at the work before me. With that, we continued down the stepwell. It was rather quiet in the tunnels. All that could be heard were the light echoes of dripping and running water, a few birds and monkeys. One noise stood out above the rest though. It sounded like a roar. The minute we heard it, we slowed down.
“And that was...?” I asked, raising a shapely brow.
“The hell if I know but it’s close.” Nadine grunted.
“Stay vigilant, ladies.” Chloe said, pushing forward. The stairs led us to a massive room, water flooding the floors and trickling from the ceiling. We heard that roar again and found the culprit in the corner of the room. An Indian Elephant laid trapped beneath a heavy broken pillar. It was in distress and if I didn’t know any better, I thought I could see some tears falling from its eyes. Immediately, the three of us turned soft. In the mixture of coos and whines, we all felt horrible about its situation. Of course we had to save it.
Quickly, we slid down a mudslide into the room and approached it carefully as it struggled against the heavy broken stones. I rounded the side towards its head as it lifted its trunk to let out another cry. “Easy, baby… easy….” I cooed, reaching out to gently pet it’s head as Chloe and Nadine climbed around its back. It let out a soft cry and it almost brought me to tears. “I know, shug. Were gonna get you outta there.” I sighed, it’s skin rough and patchy beneath my fingers.
“She’s trapped but I don’t think she’s wounded.” Nadine said, running her hand over its back softly.
“Those explosions we heard must’ve triggered the collapse.” Chloe said, also petting the elephant.
“Those assholes….” I hum under my breath as I watched the girls sit on its back with their feet against the pillar, trying to kick it off as I comforted the poor creature. But they struggled.
“Sunny, get up here- we need some help— we’ve almost got it.” Chloe grunted. I nodded, looking at the massive animal in its eyes sadly. I climbed the platform and sat down on the elephant’s back, leaning against the wall to kick my feet up onto the pillar. “On three….” She said. She counted us off and I used all the power left in my legs to push as hard as I could, baring my teeth as I grunted. We pushed and pushed and pushed until the pillar moved and fell on its side off of the animal. Just as I was about to let off a quick sigh of relief, the elephant suddenly stood up, a trill noise erupting from its trunk. “Wait, wait—” Chloe exclaimed as we instinctively threw our legs over its spine. It began to walk down a tunnel, carrying the three of us on its back; and it looked like we were still on the right path to wherever we were going.
“We need to get down.” Nadine suddenly huffed. I scoffed and she turned around to look at me.
“Really, Nadine? We’re literally riding an elephant and your first thought is to get off of it?” I knew she was pissed but come on. This was incredible!
“This isn’t a tourist elephant, Spurrs— this is a wild animal!”
“Will you relax, Nadine?” Chloe groaned. “It doesn’t seem to bother her, does it girl?” She picked off a low hanging branch, sprouting with yellow fruits and held it out for the elephant to eat. She chewed happily and tooted from her trunk; Chloe turned to give her a bright smile but it was to no avail. Nadine gave us both a look and just sat between us sulking. Chloe frowned and looked at me. I gestured to the woman between us and made a face.
“Fuckin’ do it!” I mouthed to her and she winced, biting her lip before turning back around. I couldn’t see her face but I knew she was racking her brain for the right words to say. I sighed as I watched her pull fruit from the branch and place them in the elephant’s grasp. When there were no more fruits left, she tossed the stick aside and the three of us rode in silence. We looked up just as a family of monkeys began to crawl across the branches above us. I looked over Nadine’s shoulder and a soft smile graced her lips as she watched them play and swing about. Chloe turned to look at her, knowing she loved them. But once again, Nadine contorted her face and looked away. Chloe gave a deep sigh and slouched her narrow shoulders.
“Look, um….. I’m not very good at the whole…. people thing….” she said rather nervously, petting the elephant for comfort as she said what she needed to say. Nadine looked at her a moment, her stone cold expression never wavering.
“You’re a selfish dickhead.” She said to her plainly and abruptly. Chloe hung her head for a moment. But she nodded, completely understanding.
“Yeah…. you’re right. I am a selfish dickhead…” She agreed.
“Ja. Long as we’re both clear on that.” She said in a matter-of-fact tone. Chloe giggled a little and a smile slowly crawled onto Nadine’s face. I smirked at how easy Nadine seemed to forgive her. Matters of the heart truly conquered all. I could only hope it’d do the same for Sam and I… Anyway, I was glad they made up. I didn’t know if I could take their fighting much longer. Then Nadine turned to look at me. I cowered under her gaze as she stared into my eyes long and hard before her features softened.
“Sorry about the check to the face…” she said. The moment she referenced it, I felt a sting and an achiness spread across my cheekbone. I shook off the pain and shrugged.
“I’m sure I had it comin’.” I mumbled, shyly. I was never sure anymore. So much bullshit flew out of my mouth, it’s a miracle I haven’t ended up dead somewhere.
“Actually, you didn’t. I panicked. I do trust you. It’s Sam I don’t trust…” She bit her lip and crinkled her brows. I just nodded.
“And I absolutely understand that. You have my full permission to beat his ass if I’m bein’ honest. Especially if I don’t get to him first.” I said, looking off at the misty waterfall in the distance. Nadine let out a pleasant chuckle and I smiled. “I don’t betray my friends, Nadine.”
“Oh, is that what we are now?” She asked with a bit of sarcasm. I giggled and punched her arm playfully.
“Lil’ shit…” I grinned. It seemed things were better between us now. And I could only hope they’d stay that way.
“So you’re an asshole, I’m a little shit, and Chloe’s a dickhead.” Nadine gathered.
“Nice!” Chloe chuckled, pulling her little trinket from her pocket to play with it between her roughed up fingers. “Hear that, dad? Guess I got something from you after all…” she mumbled. I could hear the sadness in her voice. We sat in silence before I finally spoke.
“What happened to your pops, Chloe?” I asked rather innocently, my eyes never leaving her dirt covered, sweaty back. She took a deep sigh and looked up at the scenery passing us by slowly. I always knew it was hard for her to talk about things that weren’t about work or fun. It was just how she operated. But I could understand. It was easier than talking about the things that really hurt; the things that really mattered, the struggles that make us who we are.
“He um….. He was the guy that just couldn’t walk away…” she began. “The Ministry of Culture promised to fund one more of his expeditions. Because this time, he was onto something big.” She scoffed and shook her head a little. “He was always into something big… But, um…. bandits raided his camp… Local authorities found his body two weeks later…. And this stupid thing is all I have left of him.” She said, showing us the little gold piece with a carving of Ganesh on it. My brows raised, crinkling a little as my heart broke for her. I wished she hadn’t lost her father like that.
“I’m sorry…” Nadine sighed. Chloe looked over her shoulder at us with a small smile.
“It’s fine…. He certainly made his choice…” she said, waving it off. The moment she locked eyes with Nadine, I could see hers light up. She looked helpless. I could see her mouth trying to find the right words to address it. “So… I—” Suddenly, just as she began to talk, the animal we rode on growled and let off a strong trill. I’d almost forgotten we were on an elephant for the moment. It kicked up on its hind legs a little, almost causing me to slide off. I wrapped my arms around Nadine’s waist as she grabbed Chloe’s in surprise and it began to charge forward.
“What the fuck, guys?!” I sang, not exactly sure what was about to happen next.
“Tell it to stop!” Nadine exclaimed.
“‘Cause I speak elephant!” Chloe replied sarcastically. Before we could even figure out a plan, the elephant jumped off of a short cliff, cherry bombing into a small body of cool blue waters. I squealed as I fell in, tumbling about the pressure of the ripples, watching the elephant swim away underwater, bubbles dancing about us all as we swam back up to the top. As soon as my face broke the surface, I began gasping for air, the three of us laughing as I pushed my wet curls off of my forehead. We began to swim to shore, only to find a family of elephants. The one that took us on our journey practically ran to be with them.
“Oh no wonder she was so worried to get back! They’ve got a calf with them.” Nadine said, nodding towards the smaller creature as she wiped the excess water from her arms. I watched the momma elephant caress her babies head with her trunk as I wrung out my shirt and cooed.
“Lookit…” I marveled, staring at the sight before me.
“So cute…” Chloe sighed. I watched her turn to Nadine to give a solemn expression. “Look….about the Sam thing—”
“I’ve got my own shit to sort out as well.” Nadine interrupted, waving her off. “Let’s not have that stand in the way anymore, hey? I forgive you. For now.” She smirked. I grinned and opened my arms to the two of them.
“Group hug?” I asked.
“Too much.” Nadine replied immediately and I began to pout, Chloe chuckling as she patted me on the back.
“Next time, China.” She laughed.
We admired them for a little while, each of us taking pictures with the elephants. This was going to be one of those things I’d remember. After trying to drag out the moment as long as we could, we started walking on our path again. Once more, we found ourselves walking up another flight of stairs. I was tired of stairs now. Over them completely. My thighs were beginning to burn and my calves were sore, my feet were beginning to hurt and my back and shoulders were killing me; mosquitoes hadn’t been kind to us this trip and small cuts on my face began to sting from sweat and god knows what else getting into them. To top it all off, I was starving. From the number of supply boxes that began to pop up from time to time, I could tell I was going to have to gear myself up for a fight. And that was all well and good, but really; how was I supposed to kick ass on an empty stomach?
“You think Asav’s guys keep first aid and snacks in their lil’ boxes?” I asked. These were the real questions.
“I thought we had sna— oh… sorry, China.” Nadine piped up, suddenly remembering that she kind of destroyed the car with the snacks inside.
“I’m still….. very upset about that by the way.”
“I’ll buy us all a big pizza after this. Sound good?” Chloe asked as the lid on the box she was picking popped open with a loud click.
“Sounds excellent.” I groaned as the three of us stood over the box, looking around inside. There wasn’t much but a few boxes and clips of ammo, a spare Arrowhead A3c, a Type 95, and a couple of C-4.
“Well, we might be in for a fight. Load up if you need to.” Nadine said, reaching for the 95, letting the weight settle in her small, bruised hands. I sighed and nodded, picking up the Arrowhead.
“I reckon this’ll all be over soon, yeah? I mean in a couple of hours we’ll save Sam, beat Asav— get the disc back, find the Tusk, get outta here n’ get paid, right?” I asked, cocking the gun and admiring the sleekness of it.
“That’s a rather optimistic way of looking at things, love.” Chloe cooed, pinching my cheek lightly.
“Not likely to be that easy.” Nadine said, curtly. I rolled my eyes and made a face. There was no room for The Bright Side with her. She obviously just couldn’t help but to be so brusque. But it wasn’t completely her fault. I figured it had to do with her militant upbringing.
“Way to boost morale, Ross.” I smiled with sarcasm, patting her on the bicep with a wink. With that, we started our way through the ruins again, ready to take on anything that would stand in the way between us and this Tusk.

Oh Partner, My Partner || Chloe Frazer x Elena Fisher
Tumblr media
[literally the only gif i could find with the two of them together omfg — yall i wish these two had more scenes together]
This took so LONG because I had no idea how to write these two best gals without them just trauma bonding over how much of a shit Nathan is lmaooooo I might have to do a part 2 idkkk man 👀👀
Request: Hello! I just saw your post about fanfic requests. Can you write something for chloe x elena (as a ship) from uncharted? Please. Thank you!
Words: 1.7k
Warnings: None ! Just a bitta flirting
“Step on it! We got Company!”
Everything was a complete blur, happening in rapid succession that it was nearly impossible to process. Elena Fisher had partaken in her fair share of shoot outs, some incredibly similar to the current situation she was in, the difference now was merely semantics.
She barrelled down the narrow walkway, ancient ruins encompassing the way out in a claustrophobic manner. If the circumstances didn’t call for panic and nimble feet, she’d take a moment to admire yet another long lost civilisation in her wake.
Gunshots echoed through as the army-for-hire attempted to hit the two figures, the two barely managing to exit the choke point and out into the open.
Elena took a moment to catch her breath, lamenting on the fact she could never simply get a story nowadays without being shot at. Her eyes trailed over to her partner — who was equally out of breath, however urged her to press onward.
“C’mon, take one of their trucks, we’ll be lucky if we hit the nearest town before they tail us.” Chloe Frazer motioned for her companion to follow, as unlikely as the pairing had been, the two women found each other’s company much more bearable than initially expected.
Of course, it wasn’t without needing something the other had. Elena had been stumped just days prior at the prospect of losing a big story after her source had been unceremoniously blown up — quite literally. It just so happened that the bar she weighed out her options had also been the same bar the familiar Australian woman had been on the lookout for her next big break.
The two hijacked one of the unmanned vehicles, tearing up some of the lush terrain as they made their quick escape. Both looking back with wide smiles at the near death experience turn successful lift and having enough proof to run a highly intriguing article.
“I can’t believe we did that!” Elena laughed out loud, her heart still thundering in her chest while the adrenaline surged through her. Her hands gripped the edge of her seat as she beamed at her companion, who was rather proud of the work they completed today.
Chloe weaved the truck in and out of major obstacles, having some indication where they needed to go in order to get to town, “we make a pretty good team, don’t we?”
The blonde was taken aback by the compliment, a light blush painting her cheeks as she flustered to find an answer. In the short few years she’d known Chloe, it was clear that the Australian was hard to impress, rarely allowing anyone in too close. To hear her point it out was an honour.
“Y-yeah… I think we did great.” Elena beamed, her eyes lingering over her partner a little too long.
“I knew I liked you for a reason,” Chloe raised her brow, her eyes trailing back and forth from watching the road to her passenger.
It was a miracle they managed to both make it out alive and managed to get enough evidence for the journalist, unlike other times which resulted into her having to sacrifice her story just to make it out alive.
This time was different, and both of them were aware of that major difference; No Nathan Drake. As much as they equally admired and appreciated his heroic efforts, they couldn’t deny the fact he was quite literally the worst treasure hunter. Somehow, someway always finding the ability to blow up his latest find in some spectacular feat.
Without him in the picture, it was unexpectedly easy to pull off the job.
In the several days finding the next lead, following the trail of some illicit blackmarket group, Elena saw a side to Chloe she was quite happy to see. That sentiment also applied for the Australian, no longer believing the outspoken journalist was as bothersome in her regard.
The two had driven for the most part of two hours, ditching the truck somewhere ambiguous while they trekked the rest of the way into town. The dark haired woman praying that their plane ride out of the secluded outback town was still available, wanting to get the hell out of dodge as soon as possible.
With the harsh summer sun beating down on them, the trek felt much longer than it actually was, the American completely out of her comfort zone as she watched in envy at her companion who was seemingly unbothered by the heat. Elena fanned her face with one hand and held up the other to alleviate the glare from the sun, cursing herself for not thinking to bring sunglasses — of all things.
Chloe looked back in amusement, finding it funny that her partner was sweltering in the blistering heat, “bit hot, love?” The facetious tone not at all deterring the glare she got in response, merely laughing more as she wipes away the sweat beading on her neck.
She pointed lazily ahead, “town’s not too far away — won’t melt on me, will you?”
Elena squinted at her, only because she was so conveniently placed right by the sun, “y’know what, I just might.” She panted, taking a short breather.
The local stifled a laugh, “c’mon hot stuff, that article of yours won’t write itself,” she strode ahead, not particularly overthinking her comment coupled as she could just spot the town ahead.
“Here I was thinkin’ I’d catch a break from the shameless flirting… must be a common trait among thieves.” Elena was smug, catching up with her strides as she walked in sync with Chloe. The statement was purely a soft jab at the way people in this specific profession tend to talk to one another.
“Oh — was I not being clear enough?” Chloe retorted, an equally as complacent smirk on her face, even more so upon noticing the flustered look on the blonde's face, “I’ll be more obvious next time, love.”
It was hard to determine whether or not she was being sarcastic, her accent lent little to the imagination with the monotonous drawl, but her sultry tone of voice often always contradicted the accent. As someone who knew her relatively well, how she spoke to other people and carried herself; Elena was still confused.
Maybe the flirty comments were always so obvious when she was directing them elsewhere, then again, Elena was sure that it was simply a shared trait among the many within this business.
Truth be told, the only other person who had attempted to charm her was Nathan, and his measly endeavors were so blatantly obvious it was borderline cringeworthy. She could barely count Harry Flynn as an eligible contender considering he tried to blow the lot of them up.
She wasn’t sure why she was so stuck in her thoughts about it, she was an adult after all and didn’t need to overthink every single remark made her way. Yet here she was, the familiar feeling bubbling up inside her all the while her partner walked in a proud strut.
“I’m sorry — are you joking? I - I really can’t tell if you’re pulling my leg.” Elena eventually spoke out, deciding that the adult approach was the best way to feed into Chloe’s zero bullshit, blunt attitude. She was well aware now wasn’t the time to be having a conversation like this, and typically she’d be happy to let the comments fly by with having a witty retort. This time felt more urgent, like she needed to know before proceeding further.
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” Chloe winked, jogging up ahead as they entered into the small isolated town. Elena laughed to herself, finding a sense of relief fill her from that sufficient answer. If she was being completely honest, she hadn’t met anyone quite like Chloe before but she had an alluring aura, even when she was being unlikeable; one couldn’t help but be drawn to her. Elena was no exception.
Nevermind that the pair of them looked like they actively fought some of the native wildlife, the two of them disregarding odd looks thrown their way as they casually strolled down the main street.
The local ushered her companion into a dingy old pub that definitely looked like it wasn’t up to code — if that even existed this far in isolation. The town itself was home to one grocery store, two pubs, an abysmal excuse for a doctors office and one lousy looking police station that sat surrounded by approximately twenty-six houses.
Inside the pub was not much different than outside; muggy with a thick musk scent that mixed with the aroma of sweat from the patrons. Elena must have pulled a face subconsciously, earning a chuckle from her partner as she guided her through the building, “mining towns aren’t all they chalk up to be, aye? Poor bastards leave their families for months at a time to live in luxury at a shit hole like this.”
“Yeah — I guess you could say that…” Elena nervously laughed, not a big fan of the way the workers were eyeing them suspiciously. She wasn’t quite sure if they were looking at them because they were quite clearly outsiders, or for some other reason.
“Stop your worryin’, love — you got me to protect you.” Chloe flashed her a smile, opening the backdoor to the sweet sight of their getaway plane. The makeshift airport was barely manned, only passing the odd pilot or two on their way to greet their pilot.
Elena looked around cautiously, knowing that typically this was the part of the job where they get ambushed; then again, they had pulled this job off without the antagonising presence of Nathan Drake, so the likelihood of something like that happening was incredibly low. It wasn’t his fault he had an undeniable knack for pissing off the ‘bad guys’ effortlessly.
Seeing that she wasn’t in the conversation, Chloe reached over to her and softly grabbed Elena’s hand, “Tommo’s ‘bout ready to leave, you still with us?”
The blonde snapped out of her preemptive panic, giving her partners hand a squeeze as she nods, “only if you’ll have me.”
“I think I’ll keep you around a bit longer.”
