All our peaceful protests have been ruthlessly crushed by the Interim Government and their radical goons. Instead of any attempts of listening to our voice, our leaders are being arrested and threatened. Mobs are chanting,"Catch Hindus one by one and slaughter them!" Temples are burning. We are under attack!
But of course, it's not fashionable to support our right to live, is it? I wonder where you woke lot buy your lovely blindfolds anytime Bangladeshi Hindus are targeted?
This is my purely fandom based account. I post all my serious posts on my other blog. However, this is also the account with the highest reach. I have done my best to help out others, including donating to GFMs from Palestinians. This is my turn to ask for help.
I am a Bangladeshi Hindu. Our lives are serious risk right now. My friends and family members had to leave their own homes for safety. I am posting screenshots and links to the attacks we faced in the last few days. Any protests on social media are faced with more attacks for being a 'Awami league' (the previous government) or 'RAW agent' (Indian intelligence agency). I supported the student protests and did my best to support them, then why are my family, friends, and faith at risk? Is this what I deserve? I absolutely condemn the corruption and terror by the last Awami League Government, but why is that our fault? My family never even dared to vote in any national elections. There's no police available as they are afraid. The army is of very limited help. There are photos on Facebook of students and local people trying to guard the temples but that is nowhere enough.

(And before some fool asks why I didn't post about the student movement in the past, this blog is about Danmei, being involved with which is a punishable crime in Bangladesh. I can't risk the lives of my family for my hobby. I strictly used my other blogs to post about student protests, but I only have a handfull of followers there.)

Just saw a tweet about ISKCON excommunicating their own kith and kin, Chinmoy Das. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but the low-key disgust I had for ISKCON is rapidly turning into high-key contempt. First of all, you are a cult that propagates an Abrahamised version of Sanatan Dharma, referring to all other deities as demi-gods, and on top of that, you don’t even adhere to the cult aspect properly—abandoning your own monk in the face of state persecution. I don’t know much about Gaudiya Vaishnavism, but the general pacifism that characterises the Vaishnav sampradaya has become both archaic and orthodox. Coming back to ISKCON—the delusion these people live in is baffling. I had a friend in college who was deep down the ISKCON rabbit hole. She once said that Shiv Bhakts are materialistic and worship Shiva to fulfil their own desires, whereas Krishna Bhakts suffer in this world and reap the rewards of their suffering in Vaikuntha. Like, really? ISKCON receives donations amounting to millions of dollars every year, and their so-called sales executives—or whatever pious marketing gimmick name they use—pressure or pester people into handing over their money. It’s better to donate to the daan peti of your local neighbourhood temple or start Hindu charitable trusts to enable wealthy Hindus to support poor Hindus economically.Let’s be honest—most ISKCON attendees, at least in major metropolitan cities, are middle- to upper-middle-class Hindus. These people are not suffering; they’re just living comfortably. And the actions of ISKCON in Bangladesh only reinforce the idea that they’re not pacifists but cowards—much like Gandhi. Do they really believe that abandoning Chinmoy Das will protect them from radicals?

[ad_1] A group of at least 54 ISKCON members were stopped at the Benapole border checkpoint and denied entry into India. Despite having the proper documentation, they were turned away by Bangladesh’s immigration authorities, who cited “suspicious travel.” Other reports indicate that more than 70 Hindus were attempting to cross the border. Additionally, Bangladeshi authorities had previously detained four other ISKCON monks. Saurabh Tapandar Cheli, an ISKCON member, stated that they were on their way to India for a religious event but were stopped by immigration officials who mentioned that they lacked the necessary government approval. Imtiaz Ahsanul Quader Bhuiyan, the Officer-in-Charge at Benapole Immigration Checkpost, explained that the decision to turn back the ISKCON members came from “higher authorities.” He mentioned that they had consulted with the Special Branch of Police and followed the instructions they received not to allow the members to enter. The ISKCON members, however, stated that they were not provided with a clear explanation for the sudden stop in their passage at the Benapole-Petrapole crossing, despite having valid visas and passports. The Integrated Check Post (ICP) at Petrapole on the Indian side was inaugurated in July 2016 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Minorities in Bangladesh, especially Hindus, have been subjected to violent attacks by Islamist groups since the formation of the interim government under Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus. Earlier this week, India raised the issue of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatan Jagran Jote and an ISKCON Bangladesh member, who was arrested and denied bail. Protests and rallies were organized in India, particularly in the states bordering Bangladesh with Bengali-speaking populations. Demonstrations were held in Kolkata and other cities in West Bengal, as well as in Agartala outside the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission earlier this week. [ad_2] Source link

[ad_1] ISKCON Kolkata on Saturday alleged that Bangladesh authorities have arrested two monks, Adipurush Shyam Das and Ranganath Das Brahmachari, and the secretary of Chinmoy Krishna Das. Vice President of ISKCON Kolkata Radha Raman said that the monks were arrested on Friday by the police while on their way home after meeting Chinmoy Krishna Das, who was arrested on the charges of sedition on November 25. Vice President of ISKCON Kolkata, Radha Raman, said, “On November 29, when Adipurush Shyam Das and Ranganath Das Brahmachari were returning after meeting Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu, they were arrested by the police. We are also getting information that the secretary of Chinmoy Krishna Das has also been arrested,” Radha Raman said in a self-made video. He further claimed that rioters also vandalised the ISKCON centre in Bangladesh. “Rioters have also vandalised an ISKCON centre in Bangladesh. Such incidents are not coming to a stop, and we feel helpless,” he said. Raman further urged ISKCON followers and devotees to pray for the minorities in Bangladesh. “I urge all followers and devotees across the world to visit their nearest ISKCON temples and pray for the minorities of Bangladesh. God is our last resort.” The situation has been tense in Bangladesh since spiritual preacher Chinmoy Krishna Das was charged with sedition for allegedly hoisting a saffron flag above Bangladesh’s national flag in Chittagong on October 25. Following Das arrest, a lawyer was killed during clashes between police and alleged followers of the spiritual guru in the Chattogram Court Building area on November 27. On Friday, India expressed concern over the rise of “extremist rhetoric, increasing incidents of violence and provocation” in Bangladesh. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said that India has consistently and strongly raised the issue of targeted attacks on Hindus and other minorities with the Bangladesh government. While addressing a weekly media briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal urged Bangladesh’s interim government to take steps to protect minorities. On the situation of minorities in Bangladesh, Jaiswal said. “India has consistently and strongly raised with the Bangladesh government the threats and targeted attacks on Hindus and other minorities. We made our position very clear as far as the situation of Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh is concerned. The interim government must live up to its responsibility of protecting all minorities. We are concerned about the surge of extremist rhetoric and increasing incidents of violence and provocation. These developments cannot be dismissed only as media exaggerations. We once again call upon Bangladesh to take all steps for the protection of minorities and safeguarding their interests.” [ad_2] Source link
