I was busy this day and couldn't get past a first sketch, unfortunately. Anyhoo, this one was inspired by one of my favorite childhood TV shows, Jane and the Dragon.

Things weren't better when you were a kid. New experiences felt more impressive due to the novelty and limited exposure made your favorites feel more exceptional. You're holding things to the impossible standards of your nostalgia when even the things you liked as a kid wouldn't hold up if you removed your nostalgia glasses.

My One Direction Phase Has Returned

Lowkey I've been really getting back into 1D I liked them when I was like way younger but I'm getting back into them now and I fear the fangirling will only be stronger 😈🫶

Also it was kinda the worst time to start getting back into them cuz of what happened but uhhh what can you do right?

Anyways Harry is my favorite (if that's not obvious by my username) and my favorite songs are Best Song Ever,Story Of My Life and Night Changes

King Dedede the 64th

After numerous attempts, I finally finished making a Dedede plushie! I tried a bunch of different designs, but eventually realized that the 64 design is actually peak (okay, they all are except the one from Kid Kirby, but...). I love his smug attitude. 😏

I only had some scraps of white fleece to work with, but it was enough for the coat trim (and some annoying high pile minky for the inner lining). It's INSANELY warm and felt nice as I was sewing the details on his head and body. My room is super cold so I really appreciated it.

Some dollar store broadcloth for the yellow on the coat emblem. It's actually pretty nice. Don't have material for the hammer at the moment, but fingers-crossed I find some.

Secret gardens in my mind people need a key to get to the only one is mine??? I read about it in a book when I was a precocious child???

girl was that book The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett??? In which precocious 10yo orphaned Mary Lennox aka Mary Mary Quite Contrary is sent to a relative’s stuffy old estate on the English moors?? She really hates it there and mopes around sour and miserable until she hears of a secret garden locked up for a decade, and occupies herself with finding it?? Until finally she finds the key and then the hidden door and then spends all her time there scared of getting caught but excited to learn all the plants and bring them back to life?? She learns all about joy and friendship and magic???

My childhood obsession?? The first hardback I ever owned?? flocked in maroon with gold-edged pages and a bookmark ribbon?? gifted to me by my parents and endlessly reread and cherished?? One of my favorite books of all time???

(AND we get a Peter Pan track?? Another of my childhood favorites and favorite stories of all time??? girl help)

So, I was going to watch Rudolph with my family, only for it to be blacked out ( thx to a company that rymes with yoo hoo!) So while I was trying to figure out a way to watch it I saw the list of the cast and what other roles that they played! I'm today years old when I found out the actress not only voiced Rudolph the Red nose Reindeer

But she also voiced my favorite character in one of one of my favorite cartoons growing up "The Care Bears" ( 1980s version) She voiced Bright Heart Racoon!

I was obsessed with the Secret History by Donna Tartt, Interview with a Vampire and the Picture of Dorian Gray as a teen, and romantized tf out of them. They are definitely to blame why my taste in men is basically 'shitty historical gay murderers'.
