Drawn to Life: Two Realms introduced many human characters - grouped together as "Townspeople" by 505 Games - and all of them were based of the designs of the Raposa cast. As seen in the chart above, created by "guythatexists" on Discord, we can see the list of connections based solely on sprite-work, with unused characters tinted red.
Notably, Pouches and Gary had their counterparts removed from the game - an unnamed child and Rocko respectively - while the Hooded Raposa and Mike do not seem to have a counterpart. Other notably cut characters include Heather's Raposa form and Samuel.
The three sets of characters who are completely tinted red were not found in the files of the game, but rather in a sheet of all the Raposa sprites made for the game, published by Chern Fai on their Twitter (@cocefi).

i'm digging around through scrivener's program files, mostly for kicks, and i found their list of names for name generators n stuff. there's a diff file for each ethnic group n stuff, as well as diff files for male/female names, so out of curiosity, i opened up the lists for chinese names, and it's honestly kind of funny bc they mix up multiple different transcription methods In The Same List, so. theoretically you could have "chern fai" as a generated male chinese name in scrivener
#花話#the list of possible cn names is also very laughably short compared to the european names#could be worse tho. could be the list of kr female given names which has a length of 0#they have longer lists of jp names#they also have 'park' listed as a possible male cn given name which. chief i think that is more likely korean#lmao some guy just came up to the front desk like 'there are kids. idk what they're doing'#'can you describe what they're doing?' 'i don't know. there are kids out there.'#like buddy this is a park lmao there are gonna be kids here

The Dying Wilfre Theory
Yesterday night I came up with a hot DtL theory and I thought I'd share.
What if Wilfre in TNC was somewhat bluffing when he said "The Creator can't get rid of me that easily... Not while this world still exists!"? Or rather, what if we misunderstood what he said?
What if Wilfre KNEW that the Raposa World wouldn't die if Mike woke up? What if he KNEW that it would be practically the same as before?
But the thing that blew my mind? What if Mike waking up were to cause WILFRE'S DEATH SPECIFICALLY? That would explain how Wilfre was regarded by the game as being selfish and only looking after himself. (Also it would explain why in the art Chern Fai made, Wilfre was in his normal form chatting with The Mayor up in the clouds instead of being on the ground like "ehehehehee I'm still here bishes!!!". That's because he was being depicted as being completely dead!)
And if this is true, he drained the color (which was probably killing Mike) so 1: Mike will never wake up and Wilfre can live forever, 2: so nobody could stop him, and 3: so the whole universe would become a BLANK CANVAS! If he gets the book of life, he could recreate the entire Rapo universe to his own liking!
As for what he would tell Mari and Jowee? I'm almost certain that he would lie and trick them into thinking everyone would die. And that the world would disappear.

Chern Fai Chow (Pixosprout)
Fai Chow is a self taught Malaysian artist who specialises with game pixel art and illustration, working on projects such as Drawn to Life as well as the popular Scibblenauts series. She makes her pixel work feel lively and full of character, introducing scenes and narratives within her work, from an otter fishing to a girl exploring a cave, which I find very inspiring and intriguing as I love the idea of providing a narrative within my work as well.
The use of colours and shapes to enclose the scenery and bring it to life are also fascinating, using bright, pastel and warm colours to make her narratives inviting but also eye catching. Her little characters also show a pop of personality in her work, watching the little people or animals do their daily routines, giving each scene their own unique atmosphere.

<3 game worlds with isometric views ⊟
As someone who grew up adoring games with isometric views like Shadowrun (SNES), X-Com, and various Tactics releases, I love seeing these shots.
The top image is concept art from Stéphane Boutin for Mercenary Kings -- the PC/PlayStation 4 game doesn't play or look like that, but it's going to be an awesome run'n gun regardless when it releases.
As for the second piece, that's "Bookkeeper’s Garden" from Chern Fai. While it's not an actual game, god, I want to play that. I want to manage a magic library and garden, and be that little dude just getting a stack of books and reading them. Actually, I want to play/live in all of these isometric scenes Fai has posted on Tumblr.
BUY Mercenary Kings early access, upcoming games

The earliest known version of Drawn to Life is the video DrawnToLife1.avi, a video showcasing the most basic form of the drawing system and a flat platforming area.
youtube
The video's metadata dates it on December 12th, 2005, approx. 1 year and 9 months before the final release. The video contains graphics of the "Droogles", a dog-like race of creatures that were the precursors to the Raposa.
These Droogles had appeared many times before, most notably on Chern Fai's website, showcasing sprites of many creatures that are similar to Droogles, but are not confirmed to be them.
This video also contains a single power-up, a sword, and a single enemy, a red dragon.
Neither of these entities would be seen again, though the power-up vaguely resembles the power-ups seen in Drawn to Life: SpongeBob Squarepants Edition. Some concept sketches of the art in this video were also leaked around the time of the Milestone ROM Leaks, seen below:
All of this information collectively makes up the earliest known portrait of the Drawn to Life Series we currently have.

The Meadow Gate
The Meadow Gate is one of the only know locations cut from the original Drawn to Life. It was originally intended to be the fourth gate, between the Beach and City Gates. According to an insider source who has asked to remain anonymous, Chow Chern Fai and Karina Lye See Mun were responsible for the vast majority of art related to the Meadow Gate.
Thanks to a different anonymous source, we know the intended plot of the Meadow Gate in it's entirety, paraphrased below:
After the defeat of the Angler King and the rescue of Count Choco, the village began to be invaded by Shadow Pests (presumably Shadow Walkers), who were infecting the water supply. After a few levels of unrelated tasks, the Hero is tasked with sounding an alarm and rounding up the Shadow Pests. After this attack, many villagers are given the poisoned water on accident. The Mayor then sends the Hero into the Meadow Gate again to defeat the cause of the infestation, Rata, Tat & Tat, a trio of rats acting as the boss of the gate.
After being defeated, they would have transformed into the Three Blind Raposa, who would have given the Hero a key to a Village Hatch, possibly the Secret Gate.
As for rescued Raposa and Templates in the preceding levels:
Rescued: Fortune Cookie (rival to Chef Cookie) Template: Fish
Rescued: Indee Template: Mechanical Scarecrow
Rescued: Bob Row (Mike) Template: Messenger Bird
Rescued: Unagi Template: Kaorin Berry
The Hero attachment for this gate would have been the Pet, a dog-like creature who could run faster than the Hero and could have been ridden around.
10 enemies were also planned for the gate and sprited, but were removed.
From top to bottom, left to right, these enemies are:
Flea Fly
Stun Sun
RockFist
Boomaphant
Fyre Fox
Helipod
Leafy Green
Mew Pod
Yote
Ssslizzz

Did you know that Drawn to Life: Two Realms is the first canon game in the series to not be developed by 5th Cell?
Including non-canon games and spinoffs, it is the third game to not be developed by 5th Cell.
Despite the game not technically being developed by 5th Cell, many of the original creators worked on Two Realms! Including artists Chern Fai and Edison Yan, executive producer Joseph Tringali, and composer David J. Franco.
