#Cherish the everyday people scattering a thousand kindnesses like you would the warrior striking a decisive protective blow. Both have value

Through my actions alone, my Grandma & my Best Friend have both touched hundreds of lives.
What I mean is:
On top of every good thing a person has ever done themselves, if their example in my life made me a better person, then their wisdom, kindness & spirit of love for others will live on forever in any lives I can touch.
I just can't imagine a more important force to be in the world than "someone who makes you want to be kind."
i think what bothers me about a lot of "girl power" narratives is that they function on the implicit idea on the idea that women can become worthy of respect. and i happen to think that really caring about women means believing they already are worthy of respect. that historical seamstresses and soccer moms and forgotten sisters and sweet polite little girls and someone's weird grandma matter just as much as the warriors and politicians, even if they, personally, never accomplish anything "cool."
#I wouldn't be who I without any of the people in my life. but oh. Especially them. Especially for the better.#Cherish the hands that reach out to teach kindness. I want to be able to look her in the face and say- I did my best Grandma#I wasn't always perfect & I wasn't always right. But I tried my best.#Women#Cherish the everyday people scattering a thousand kindnesses like you would the warrior striking a decisive protective blow. Both have value
