This Pumpkin Hamburger Mac and Cheese combines the creamy richness of pumpkin with savory ground beef and gooey melted cheese, all baked to perfection. It's a comforting and flavorful twist on the classic mac and cheese dish.
Ingredients: 1 lb elbow macaroni. 1 lb ground beef. 1 small onion, diced. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 cup pumpkin puree. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese. 1 cup milk. 2 tablespoons butter. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour. Salt and pepper to taste. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 1/2 teaspoon dried sage. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs optional, for topping.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 175F 350C. Follow the directions on the package to cook elbow macaroni until it is al dente. Remove the water and set it aside. Warm up the ground beef in a big pan over medium-low heat until it turns brown. Put in the minced garlic and diced onion and cook until the onions are soft. Add the milk, butter, flour, pumpkin puree, and cheddar cheese shreds. Mix the ingredients well until the cheese melts. If you want, you can add cayenne pepper, nutmeg, sage, salt, and pepper. Add the cooked macaroni to the pan and stir it around so that the pumpkin cheese sauce coats it all evenly. Put the mixture in a baking dish that has been greased. If you want, you can sprinkle breadcrumbs on top. After the oven is hot, bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and golden brown. Enjoy while hot!
