▫️La Robot ▫️ I drove to Saint Nazaire for my work yesterday. I did not expect to see street art in the region but before leaving I had a short look on internet and actually I saw there was a wall of @inti_cl! I had to see it before leaving and what a surprise to fall on this work! This is a mural by my Chilean friend @saintrobot aka La Robot. He painted it in 2015 for @festivallesescales with his Chilean friends @inti_cl & @charquipunk. So happy to fall on these walls. We met with @charquipunk & @saintrobot 3 years ago for the first edition of @louresartepublica. The artist from Chile studied industrial design in the 90’s, but devoted his free time to sketching and drawing in pen. He began experimenting with graffiti in his own garden, only later bringing it to the streets. “Lately I have been choosing any subject matter in the context of wherever I am painting,” Punk says. This brings us to one of the key questions surrounding graffiti art: Is it the environment that influences an artists work or the work that effects the location they chose?

No matter where we may find Charqui Punk’s work, it is always tribute to his heritage. Even his simple signature design, a cat, is in honor of his pet.
