the narrative (especially via her interactions with ego) treats anri as someone very naive and dumb, but blue lock and hiring ego were HER idea. everything that has happened to the boys is a direct consequence of HER actions, decisions, and dreams of japan winning a world cup. let’s not forget she’s also only 3 years older than aiku, kaiser, and sendou — she has no interest in taking care of a bunch of insane high-school-aged soccer freaks, she literally just wants her country to win the wc because she herself is a soccer freak!!

20 years ago, on this day the first volume of Durarara!! (デュラララ!!) was released in Japan. This volume contains the Dollars/Mika Harima arc, which is the start and readers' first meeting with such a well written plot, complex characters and artsy language.

Happy 20th anniversary to Durarara!! It will be forever my favorite media; no book, anime or manga can come close to the place that Durarara!! has in my heart. It will remain as a unique and one of a kind work, not only to me but to many other readers as well.

Anri went up against the old fashioned money hungry men on her own and got disrespected in return, but she has succeeded so far. Even if it had turned out to be a fluke, her courage on its own was admirable. Hated to see them objectifying her.

I think the HC community needs to talk more about the relationship between Anri and Charles. Like even if Charles never loved her back romantically she’s still inexorably linked to be his self insert OC’s bestie in every universe and i think that MEANS something alright!?

I went for a shoujo love interest vibe, with the sparkly blue eyes, big eyelashes and anime boy hair, and I wanted them to be so androgynous that the design could be applicable across their male and female versions without making any changes. They’re also a unsure lil guy and I wanted to capture that in their body language and expressions (top left is them smiling at Horace because I love these two’s dynamic so much)

I actually legitimately think the only reason the creator of Blue Lock has the gayest characters imaginable is because he hates women that much.

With the way he treats female characters as walking fanservice/ sex machines, and that creepy ass sexual assault manga he's working on, it just seems like he's Light Yagami.

You know. You're gay because you love men. I'm gay because I hate women. We are not the same.

I mean the only reason I can tolerate it is because Blue Lock by definition has very few female characters for him to victimize. And I am compelled by deranged gay soccer.
