Sunita Kejriwal Leads AAP Campaign in Gujarat: ‘Jail ka Jawab Vote Se’
In a bid to seek justice for her husband, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sunita Kejriwal took the lead in the AAP campaign in Gujarat. Accompanying AAP MLA and Bharuch candidate Chaitar Vasava during a roadshow in Dediapada, Sunita highlighted the unjust incarceration of Vasava and her husband as a form of dictatorship.
Vasava, who had spent 48 days in jail for a case involving assault on forest officials, was joined by his wives Shakuntala and Varsha during the roadshow. Sunita passionately addressed the gathered crowd, emphasizing the similarities between Vasava’s wrongful imprisonment and her husband’s ordeal, urging voters to respond with their votes.
A star campaigner for AAP, Sunita accompanied the party’s candidates from Gujarat, including Umesh Makwana in Botad and Vasava in Dediapada, in a day-long schedule of campaigning. With AAP contesting only two Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat, a victory would mark a significant milestone for the party.
Despite challenges, Sunita remained undeterred, raising slogans like ‘jail ka jawab vote se’ (vote as a response to imprisonment) and ‘our Kejriwal is sher’ (our Kejriwal is a lion), rallying support for AAP’s cause. As the roadshow progressed through the town, a sea of blue and yellow AAP flags filled the streets, symbolizing the party’s presence and determination.
The roadshow garnered support from locals like Hasmukh Vasava, a BJP worker, who admired Vasava’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the common people. Despite political affiliations, many residents resonated with Vasava’s dedication to development and justice.
As the campaign gained momentum, Sunita and AAP leaders like Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak left midway, citing logistical reasons. Nonetheless, Chaitar Vasava remained steadfast in his commitment to represent his constituency, despite facing legal restrictions.
Through her active participation in the campaign, Sunita Kejriwal exemplified the spirit of resilience and determination, urging voters to use their votes as a powerful tool for change.
