BIOGRAPHY

Cerys’ childhood was a rather chaotic one, though she was too young to remember. She was born the only child of Luke Jones and Amber Khatri. Both were born into families of high expectations. Amber’s family was known for its entrepreneurship, and Amber followed suit as her parents expected. Whereas Luke’s family wasn’t successful in matter of occupational fields, but rather in social status. Luke’s parents were in high standing with influential families, and with Luke’s father being a well-known fashion designer, Luke saw a lot of the world as he eventually followed suit, enjoying the challenge of designing clothes from scratch. When Luke met Amber, both weren’t at the highest level of their field. Amber was busy getting her own plans and dreams to lift off and Luke was still being described as the son of a great designer and was trying to break free into his own brand and household name. The two fell in love and though unplanned, Amber fell pregnant. Even if this was to be the first child for the both of them, Amber already had a child from a previous relationship, a daughter who was living with her father back in New Delhi.

The day Cerys was born, donned with the name of Luke’s grandmother, Luke had noticed how Amber hadn’t responded to her daughter the way he wished she had. She was distant, even acted annoyed when she had to get her feeding and always tried to work as much on her work as she could, even if that meant neglecting her daughter. When one morning Luke woke up with Amber gone, he wasn’t surprised. He realised the predicament this would bring him in, as his income wasn’t royally enough to take care of an infant and have money left to spare. But he had the luck that his parents doted on their granddaughter to set aside a saving account for her to serve as a school fund.

Cerys definitely missed having a mother figure in her life, always feeling a pang of envy when she saw classmates with their mothers. But she knew her father tried his hardest and that he did the best he could to take care of both of them. This created an unbreakable bond between the two of them, and at least Luke had one special way to provide for his daughter: making her clothing himself. Around the time that Cerys was thirteen years of age, her older half-sister decided to live in London to study. It was Luke’s idea for her sister to come live with them so that she wouldn’t have to pay so much rent, of course Luke got paid monthly by her father as compensation, but he was long happy that the two sisters could bond together and so that the two could be together when he had to make a delivery for his job or go to a fashion show he participated in. For Cerys, getting to know her sister was everything, and it was almost like the two had known each other all their lives already. The two differed eight years in age, and in a way Cerys looked up to her as a mother figure, though they would still have that sisterly bond and talk about boys, clothes and, a blessing to Luke, someone to explain her everything about womanhood. This way, Cerys also got to learn some things about the culture he was never able to really teach her.

For as long as anyone could remember, Cerys had always shown an interest in history. She begged her father to take her to museums in and outside of the city, and if they would go abroad on holiday, not going to a museum was merely impossible. So during her studies, she always had the intention of going to university, getting her degrees and one day work at a museum as a curator. Thanks to the money put aside for her by her grandparents and her father, as well as money she earned herself from the moment she was old enough to get a job, she knew that intention was something that could come true, if she had the grades to prove the university she was the perfect student.

And prove to them she was, she did. Cerys thrived at university, enjoying every day she learned, enjoyed the pressure and couldn’t wait for her internships to start. Of course, she had off days, but those always became better when she would come back home to her family or have a fun night out with friends. She started work at the London Dungeon right out of high school, with the promise that if she was still there when her university internships started. And when they did, she would work there in the weekends, and have her internship and school during the week days. It was manageable, and she loved the creative output she could perform scaring tourists with creepy make-up and costumes. Playing a courtesan, speaking about Jack the Ripper, or a prison torturer was right in her alley. It was a fun way of telling history after all. She feels like she has her life in good balance, except for one thing, a secret she’s terrified of telling her family about.

Cerys was born in the beautiful Wales but has known London to be her only home, as her father moved there when she was two years of age when a new job opportunity arrived. She studies history and archeology with an internship at the museum of London and has a weekend job at the London Dungeon. 

She has a cat named mittens. She picked him up from the shelter and named him ever so aptly because he was grey with white paws. He’s thirteen years old and still her little boy. 

Hasn’t seen her mother in her entire life and only knows what she looks like from pictures. She did send birthday cards every year but she told her father to automatically shred them upon receiving. Her sister bears no love for their mother either, which was enough for Cerys to know not to bother to reach out. 

Always felt hopeless with love. She had a few boyfriends during her life but realised she was into women when she was visiting the university on their open days and felt butterflies upon meeting one of the students. She hasn’t come out publicly yet, and is finding the courage to finally do so.

Her and Cerys are very close, despite being half siblings and not having known each other for a majority of their lives. Presenting, the third annual Deniz Charity Masquerade Ball, a one night extravaganza, allowing you to have some fun as well as give back to various different charities around London. So put on your best clothes and dine in style with the added bonus of knowing that every penny you spend will be going to an amazing cause!

IN ROLEPLAY TIME THE EVENT WILL BE ON SATURDAY, MARCH 6TH! IT IS ONE NIGHT ONLY!

The tag for the event will be londoncityevent1. Everything from pictures, outfits, threads, and etc all need to be under the tag. Starters should have both the londoncitystarter and londoncityevent1 tags.

This event will have groups for dinner to encourage interactions (found in the read more on this post). However, over all you will be able to interact with whoever you like — but we do encourage you to reach out to those who you don’t usually interact with.

This event will not have daily postings. This is not time structured with midnight posts. This will be the event post! With the exception of the Silent Auction where we will update the totals daily.

This event is mandatory! If you need a hiatus let us know, but we do expect participation and all non-event threads to be stopped.

This is a formal event. Men please be in suites and women need to be in long and appropriate dresses. There is no colour code for this so please do have fun! Also... don’t forget your mask!

Dinner - A full course meal will be provided to all of those attending. Please take a seat at your table and enjoy your meal prepared by special Chief Gordon Ramsey. 

Full Bar - Please take advantage and enjoy the fully stocked bar. All £ will be going to Love is Equal which is an LGBTQ+ charity. 

Casino - The room is stocked with slot machines and card tables everything. All of the £  collect at the end of the night will go to Happy Mind, which is a mental health charity. 

Photo room - Stop by the photo room to take a few photos to remember the night by. Professional photographers will be lined up in the room, there is a photobooth in the back if you’re wanting a more vintage photo. All the £ will go to LovingCare Inc which is a children’s charity. 

Dance floor/band - Take advantage of the only free thing at this party! Guest DJ Calvin Harris will be DJ-ing all night. 

Silent auction - Are you feeling competitive? Well this is your chance to show off. Get ready to drop some £. The money will be split between all the charities.
