Dawnstar is literally just like The Thing but with falmer or something instead of aliens
#The 50s the thing though. On account of the traitor + people actually surviving#Certified nerdddd over here <- watched all 3 The Thing films + read who goes there + read that story from the aliens pov#It's such a captivating story but it's execution is so often disappointing and I don't appreciate it's messaging. Sad!#The 1982 film and the alien pov story are the best takes on it imo#'Who Goes There?' Is worth reading as its the original story but it's disappointing how much of it is just racism. It's not even a product-#-of it's time I've read really good books from around then And criticisms of this authors racism contemporary to it#I suppose most alien stories convey a fear of the unknown in an often unsavory manner but who goes there is um. Bad for it
