random hws philippines food hcs
He loves food but he has more of a “eat to live” than a “live to eat” mentality these days… he’s not very meticulous when it comes to preparing food and would opt for shortcuts than stick to tradition like using sachet sinigang mix instead of sampalok cuz it gets the job done 🤷♀️.
I think he can be a pretty good cook if he’s given the resources and time. He does miss the taste of a more authentic ulam, but tbh he’d rather seek out specific hole-in-the-walls or eat his relatives’ cooking instead because he likes eating with family so much haha.
Doesn’t really like the Filipino food in malls or upscale restaurants 😭. I think likes going to carinderias and specialty places like paresans, sutukils, sattihans, etc but places like Mesa are like an ekis for him cause all he could think is him making the dish at home for less of the price lol
Places with unlimited rice are an exception LMAO he’s attracted to them like a moth to a flame 😔 waiters are flabbergasted at the amount of rice he could store. Also fastfood restaurants with unlimited gravy, he’s a fucking MENACE when it comes to the gravy station he treats the damn thing like a soup dispenser
People think he’s a heavy meat eater but he’s actually not. His daily diet mostly consists of fish, sauteed vegetables, soup and rice. He gives off that impression because whenever guests are invited to his home he always cooks meat, but that’s more about his way of showing hospitality than his eating habits. He would never cook veggies for a guest; he thinks it's weird and cheap (his opinion not mine 😭)
He does however really love going to samgyeopsals (or samgyupsal/samgyups in colloquial Filipino) for special occasions. Yong Soo introduced him to the concept, and he's been obsessed with it ever since. Samgyeopsals are extremely popular in PH; I even saw some people having them at their homes for their media noche instead of a traditional PH spread! He loves the communal aspect of it… and the unlimited meat deals—
He actually has a bigger spice tolerance than you'd expect. While Filipinos in general are stereotyped as having one of the worst spice tolerance in SEA, PH does have specific regions that have spicy cuisine (ex. Bicol, Cordillera, and Bangsamoro), and he did live in Mexico's house at intervals when he was younger… so compared to someone like Manila or Cebu, samyang noodles won't kill him lmao.
Hates biscocho or any hard biscuit with passion because it reminds him too much of the crappy rations he had to endure during his Manila galleon days. No amount of sugar will make him like it, he did Not have a good time on those ships.
Has a coffee addiction. Cannot start a day without coffee. While uses a lot of instant coffee for convenience, I think he's quite invested in local coffee scenes and enjoys a good cup of Kapeng barako. His relationship with kape in general:
#hetalia#hws philippines#ph headcanons#piri and food have been on my mind ever since that ph cuisine disk horse on twitter few months ago lol#so here's a small compilation of hcs haha

Skincare Struggles in Your 20s: Why It’s Okay to Choose Simplicity Over Perfection
Thoughts about skincare. Journaled when I was in my early to mid-twenties.
I’m sick of using skincare.
No, that’s not accurate. I am sick of not seeing much improvement after rounds of skincare. Years—I’ve been doing this for years—only to be disappointed each time I look in the mirror and see the same number of blackheads and small, itchy bumps ruining my face. I’m sick of convincing myself each morning that it’s getting better when it’s not—it’s just not getting worse. Which is good, I guess.
To clarify, I’ve been using drugstore products. Neutrogena and other stuff. When I finally went to a dermatologist, my jaw dropped. Ain’t no way I am spending that kind of money for clear skin. That kind of money could cover a samgyupsal promo five times a month. That kind of money could fill a small bookshelf with the works of my favorite novelists. That kind of money could repair the many leaking faucets and broken tiles in our house. That kind of money could pay for a round trip to the beaches of Cebu.
I could use that money for actual health concerns, like complete bloodwork or therapy for my scoliosis. Or for my furbaby’s vet. I could use it for protein powder and creatine and nicer clothes. I could use it to treat my friends and family.
Besides, I am not a freaking influencer. It is not my job to look and stay pretty. Why am I trying so hard?
I’m not saying one shouldn’t invest in one’s appearance, of course. Pretty privilege is real. Charm and swagger can get you what you want in a shallow society that prizes beauty. But I’m going to make sure I do the bare minimum, because the effort isn’t worth it in my life. I am a couch potato who works remotely. I don’t need to see people. Even when I do, people aren’t there for my looks, anyway. I am not going to go to great lengths to maintain this.
Doesn’t mean I won’t stop feeling envious, though. I’d be lying through my teeth if I said looking at acne-free people didn’t make me want to claw at their flawless faces. Especially when both of our faces share a mirror. My eyes zip from their spotless complexion to my rough, dry one. But the momentary insecurity soon fades. They go their own way, and I go mine. I read books and write and do my work, and I forget it all. I pet my dog. I’ll be fine. I look in the mirror and shrug at the red, angry bumps I see there. I’m doing all I can to fight it.
I’ll buy the cheapest drugstore brands and stick to what works best. I’ll happily accept whatever soaps my relatives throw my way. But I’m not going to go to great lengths to improve this complexion.
I suppose I just want my old, unproblematic skin back. The one I had in high school and half of college. The kind of skin that remained clear even as I overate sugar and milk and stayed up way too late binge-watching or cramming for an exam. But I have to accept that this is my reality now.
It’s one less thing to worry about, too, especially with my constant struggles with scoliosis and other health concerns. Bumps and rough patches on my skin seem so trivial. If it worsens, I’ll reconsider a dermatologist. But until it causes me actual physical harm, I’ll just apply the most basic facial wash or bar soap, slather on sunscreen, and hope for the best.

Cebu City’s waste management scrutinized as it nears 1M kg of trash produced daily
Waste management involves collecting, recycling, and disposing of waste to minimize environmental impact and protect public health. As population growth and urbanization increase waste production, effective management is essential for sustainability. This includes waste segregation, recycling, and reducing landfill use to conserve resources and prevent pollution. Despite challenges like growing waste volumes and limited infrastructure, coordinated efforts from governments, industries, and individuals are necessary to promote sustainable practices and create a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.
The purpose of waste management is to safely and responsibly handle waste to protect the environment and public health. It helps reduce pollution, conserve natural resources, and ensure that waste is properly disposed of or recycled. By managing waste well, we can prevent harmful effects like water and air pollution, reduce the need for raw materials, and save energy. Waste management also supports a cleaner, healthier community and helps create a more sustainable future for everyone.
Cebu City has implemented waste management initiatives to address urban waste challenges, focusing on waste segregation at the source, where residents and businesses separate biodegradable, recyclable, and non-recyclable materials. This improves recycling and reduces landfill waste. The city offers regular waste collection, with non-recyclable waste disposed of in sanitary landfills. Recycling is further promoted through drop-off points and hubs for materials like plastics, paper, and metals, while composting organic waste turns food scraps and yard trimmings into fertilizer for urban greening.
To prevent waste management issues in Cebu City, it's important to focus on waste reduction, proper segregation, and public education. Encouraging the community to reduce waste, reuse items, and buy in bulk can help minimize waste production. Effective waste segregation at the source, along with expanded recycling programs and more drop-off centers, can improve recycling rates. Strict enforcement of anti-dumping laws and promoting composting for organic waste will further reduce landfill reliance. Investing in waste-to-energy technologies and continuing public awareness campaigns will help create a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
In conclusion, effective waste management in Cebu City requires a combination of waste reduction, proper segregation, increased recycling, and public education. By investing in recycling infrastructure and exploring solutions like waste-to-energy technologies, the city can address its growing waste challenges. Despite obstacles like illegal dumping, a coordinated effort from the government, businesses, and residents can create a cleaner, more sustainable environment for future generations.

Mark Thomas Firestone aka David Bond aka David Campbell aka Steven Mapel
This guy currently resides in Cebu, City. He is making money by creating videos on Only Fans involving local girls. It's worth to know that Only Fans is banned in this country. He is using geoblocking so people who try to access his accounts from the Philippines won't be able to see them.
Last year he got in trouble in Brazil. Here's a translated Brazil news article which explains in detail about his ''ways of doing things''.
Two foreign coaches and a Brazilian were charged after allegedly promoting a hook-up course in São Paulo, inviting women—some under the age of 18—to put their students to use the techniques in February 2023.
The decision by the Federal Court, accepting a request from the Public Prosecutor's Office after an indictment by the São Paulo Civil Police, was published last week.
The defendants, who deny wrongdoing, must answer for two crimes: enticement and sexual exploitation of minors and inducement to prostitution. The expected sentence is three to six years.
In the petition, the Prosecutor's Office, represented by Michel François Drizul Havrenne, stated that the suspects obtained "significant financial gains from the sexual exploitation of Brazilian women, in a practice known as sex tourism."
The only Brazilian involved in the incident, Fabrício Marcelo Silva de Castro Junior, also had his passport seized to prevent him from leaving the country during the trial.
The 4th Federal Criminal Court of São Paulo, where the warrant was issued, justified the action because Castro Junior is accused of working with foreigners who could help him leave the country and keep him as a fugitive.
The other two defendants are Chinese citizen Ziqiang Ke, known as Mike PickupAlpha, and American Mark Thomas Firestone, identified as David Bond.
They coordinated the Millionaire Social Circle group, which offered courses to men with supposed techniques for seducing women. The organization used to promote hookup tourism, targeting underdeveloped countries.
In February, the duo visited the capital of São Paulo and held a party so that students could put the content of the classes into practice. Women present at the event told the police that they were unaware of the existence of the course and were filmed and photographed without warning.
The event took place in a mansion in Morumbi, an upscale neighbourhood in the south of São Paulo. The rental of the property was brokered by Castro Junior, according to the investigation.
Before coming to Brazil, the group's tutors made some videos to explain the reasons that led them to choose the capital of São Paulo as their first destination in 2023. The word used by the Americans to describe the country was "exotic". According to them, there are "exotic women" and "an exotic juxtaposition between rich and poor" here.
The Civil Police opened an investigation into the party and, in July of last year, indicted the three people involved, referring the proceedings to the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The group changed its name and deleted videos
As the investigations progressed in Brazil, Millionaire Social Circle stopped producing videos and publishing them on its YouTube profile; the last one was aired 10 months ago.
The content recorded about and in São Paulo was also deleted.
The report, however, found a new page, called Self Investment Socialites, which began operating exactly 10 months ago on several platforms, mainly on TikTok. At first, it published content about flirting, but it did not show the creator of the videos.
Later, live recordings began to be made, and the faces of those responsible appeared: Mike PickupAlpha and David Bond.
Today, the only profile that the group has updated regularly is the TikTok profile. Bond, however, does not appear in the latest videos, only PickupAlpha. Self-Investment Socialites also has a website that promises to "network with successful men" and "experience with dating while travelling around the world".
The link also contains videos about the tours they have already done, including one in São Paulo. They show parties, explain how they operated and expose women being approached by them on the streets of the city.
THE OTHER SIDE
In a note sent this Saturday (28), the defense of Brazilian Fabrício Marcelo Silva de Castro Junior, through lawyer Nairo Pandolfi, says that they understand that the precautionary measure of seizing their client's passport "is totally disproportionate to the present moment, especially given the fact that the accused contributed at all times during the investigation".
Pandolfi also states that "all applicable legal measures are being taken to remove the restriction as quickly as possible, and Mr Fabrício Castro is at the disposal of the authorities for clarifications".
The foreigners responsible for the Millionaire Social Circle party at the time denied, in a single contact with Folha after the police investigation began, that the party had any connection with the course and stated that they were in São Paulo to hold a "dating conference".
"We want people to know what we do. Everything is public", they stated.
After the case became public on social media, PickupAlpha and Bond recorded a live broadcast in which they stated that they were victims of the cancel culture in Brazil and were falsely accused of sex tourism and human trafficking and of promoting prostitution.
“These feminists are so stupid,” Mike says, adding that the women who came forward are “not doing anything with their lives” and “are not busy people.” “None of them are in medical school.” At another point, he claims that one of the women who attended the party and recorded a video about the event is an “ugly, fat girl.” “The attractive women stood up for us. In the videos from the party, everyone is smiling.”

First Batch of Youth Trainees to Kickstart Food Service OJT at Select Jollibee Group Stores
The inaugural batch of youth trainees under JGF’s ACE Program and Youthworks PH is set to begin their on-the-job training in select stores of Jollibee, Chowking, and Greenwich in Cebu.
The inaugural batch of youth trainees under the Jollibee Group Foundation's (JGF), Access, Curriculum, and Employability (ACE) Program and Youthworks PH is set to begin their on-the-job training in select stores in Cebu of Jollibee, Chowking, and Greenwich. This program is a collaboration between the Jollibee Group, and Primary Structures Educational Foundation, Inc. – School of Knowledge for Industrial Labor, Leadership, and Service (PSEFI-SKILLS), together with the Philippine Business for Education (PBEd), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The 21 “Not in Education, Employment, or Training” (NEET) youth trainees kickstarted their work-based training at Jollibee Group stores This is the second part of their training after 10 weeks of classroom training that Jollibee Group funded, including the trainees’ allowances and accommodation. Apart from that, Jollibee Group and JGF also worked with PSEFI-SKILLS in the development of the curriculum for the Quick Service Restaurant Operations (QSRO) track, which is designed to fill the gap for professionalized personnel training in the food service industry.
The QSRO is one of the two tracks under the ACE Scholarship Program; the other track focuses on agriculture, which is done in partnership with technical-vocational training institutions to provide youth from low-income families the opportunity to stay in school and eventually improve their livelihoods.
The Supervised Industry Learning (SIL), an aspect of the Youthworks PH program, will run from September to December 2024. During this phase, the trainees will work alongside experienced store managers and crew members within Jollibee Group stores and will undertake a range of tasks including customer service, food handling, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, and other operational procedures.
Launched in 2018, YouthWorks PH is a private sector initiative to increase access to quality training and employment opportunities for unemployed and out-of-school Filipino youth. During the kick-off event last September 23, at Jollibee Parkmall in Mandaue City, Ruth Angeles, Chief Human Resources Officer for Jollibee Group Philippines emphasized the importance of SIL for the trainees.
“We are excited to welcome our trainees into the next phase of their program, where they will gain hands-on experience as skilled service crew. This part is crucial because it puts them in real-world situations and gives them the practical skills they need to handle the challenges of their job,” said Jollibee Group Chief of Human Resources Officer Ruth Angeles.
Investing in the future
As one of JGF’s core commitments in uplifting underprivileged youth, JGF President Gisela Tiongson underscored the value of investing in the future of the youth and creating pathways for their success.
"This initiative reflects our commitment to drive social change and open up more opportunities to help the next generation succeed and reach their dreams,” said Tiongson. “At Jollibee Group and JGF, we believe that by investing in youth education, we can build a more inclusive and resilient society where more people have a chance at a better life.”
Jessa Marie Jumao-as, one of the trainees of the YouthWorks PH program, said the workforce development training program has been a “transformative gift” for her. Prior to participating in the program, she used to be part of a cleaning service group, which made her realize that she is happy with work that deals with more people.
“I am very grateful to Jollibee Group and PSEFI-SKILLS for giving me the opportunity to become one of the ACE scholars and trainees of the YouthWorks PH program of PBED and USAID. I am grateful to them because they taught me new skills to be able to work in the food and beverage sector, and to have a better future. This has been a transformative experience,” said Jumao-as.
Youth unemployment is at 11.2%, despite the high number of vacancies in different industries.
“We are elated to see the pilot batch of 21 out-of-school youth in Cebu City jumpstart this opportunity. This project is a testament to what we can achieve when we break down silos and work together. When government, businesses, educators, and communities join forces, we can empower young people, unlock their potential, and build a brighter future for all," said Executive Director of PBED Justine Raagas.
To continue improving the skills and opening more opportunities for more NEET youth trainees, Jollibee Group and JGF, together with PSEFI-SKILLS, PBEd and USAID, will continue to expand the ACE Scholarship and YouthWorks PH programs by bringing it closer to more trainees in other parts of the country.

How to Tell If a Filipina Really Loves You: Signs to Watch For and the Best Way to Meet Filipinas
Navigating love and relationships can sometimes be challenging, especially when cultures are involved. If you’re dating a Filipina and wondering how to tell if a Filipina really loves you, there are key signs to look for that reflect deep affection and commitment. Filipina women are known for their loyalty, warmth, and family-oriented values, but understanding the subtle and sincere ways they express love can make a world of difference in your relationship.
In this blog post, we’ll explore the emotional indicators of a Filipina’s love and also offer insights into the best way to meet Filipinas, whether you're new to dating or seeking a meaningful relationship.
Signs She Truly Loves You
She Involves You in Her Family Life Family is the core of Filipino culture, and if your Filipina partner introduces you to her family or talks about them often, it’s a clear sign she’s serious about the relationship. In the Philippines, involving a significant other with the family is a step that usually only happens when a woman is emotionally invested and sees a future together.
She Prioritizes Your Needs One of the key signs of knowing how to tell if a Filipina really loves you is through her selflessness. If she prioritizes your happiness and well-being, whether by cooking your favorite meals, planning her day around your schedule, or going out of her way to support you, it shows genuine care. Filipinas express love by ensuring their partner is well taken care of.
Consistent Communication In any long-distance relationship or even local dating scenario, constant communication is crucial. A Filipina who genuinely loves you will check in often, be it through texts, calls, or video chats. It’s their way of ensuring you're a priority in their life. Consistent efforts to maintain contact, especially when apart, are clear indicators of affection.
She Talks About the Future Discussing future plans together, whether that involves moving in, marriage, or traveling, is another way to gauge her commitment. Filipinas are usually future-focused when it comes to serious relationships, and if she’s openly talking about “us” or “we” when discussing future goals, it’s a major sign that she envisions a life with you.
She Shares Her Culture with You Filipinas are very proud of their heritage, and if she’s sharing aspects of Filipino culture like traditions, cuisine, or language, it's a strong indicator she wants you to understand and appreciate her roots. Love for her culture means love for you, as she wants you to be a part of what makes her who she is.
The Best Way to Meet Filipinas
If you're still searching for that special someone, it’s important to know the best way to meet Filipinas. Platforms like Filipino2Meet offer an excellent opportunity to connect with Filipinas looking for meaningful relationships.
Online Dating Platforms Today, online dating has become one of the easiest and most convenient ways to meet Filipinas, especially if you are located outside the Philippines. With the right platform, like Filipino2Meet, you can connect with genuine Filipinas who are interested in building a strong relationship. These platforms offer a safe and user-friendly environment to engage in conversations, learn about each other’s lives, and build rapport before meeting in person.
Cultural Events and Social Gatherings Attending Filipino cultural events, festivals, and social gatherings in your local area can be another best way to meet Filipinas. These events give you an opportunity to immerse yourself in Filipino culture while meeting people who share the same values and interests.
Visiting the Philippines If you’re serious about finding love, visiting the Philippines can offer a first-hand experience in understanding Filipino culture and meeting potential partners. Traveling to cities like Manila, Cebu, or Davao opens up opportunities to meet people in everyday situations while also enjoying the beauty of the country. Moreover, a face-to-face meeting can help you quickly identify how to tell if a Filipina really lovesyou.
Building a Strong Connection
Love transcends borders, and when dating a Filipina, understanding her cultural background and the way she expresses love can deepen your relationship. Whether you’re dating long-distance or in-person, the emotional cues mentioned above will help you understand if her feelings are sincere.
