Btw! Since in game we heard two very competent (in their own way) ladies praising Andal’s teaching abilities, that would mean he actually took time off Vanguard duties to train some of his hunters (I assume most promising ones), do you think Cayde (or Shiro and Tevis, who knows) was ever jealous for the time Andal dedicated not to his fireteam or him specifically? ;)
Oh yeah, absolutely! I bet Cayde was crazy jealous at first, especially seeing how well Andal fit in the Vanguard and Tower in general. I mean, being Hunter Vanguard is pretty much everything Andal already did this whole time, just in a bigger scale, so no wonder he blended in well. Cayde bluntly says he hated seeing him there, missed him and felt like Andal got way too invested in Vanguard buisness instead of keep running around with them like before, so it's pretty obvious from his side. Which always confused me, like... Cayde, sweetie, couldn't you think one, literally ONE step further when proposing your Dare? How could you not realise that no matter the outcome, your days together in the wilds will be over?? and be so surprised and upset when it inevitably happens??? Or what, he thought reasonable and responsible Andal will just ditch all people relying on him and run off into the sunset with Cayde whenever he felt like it? Oh my.
Anyway, it was pretty clear with Cayde, he wore his heart on his sleeve. What is interesting, Shiro seemed to be upset no less and maybe even more than him, he just didn't let it show in the same amount. Andal's been dead for god knows how long already, but Shiro STILL didn't forgive him for that. Man sure knows how to hold a grudge, I can only imagine how pissed he must be at Cayde right now lol OTL
Which isn't that surprising, if you think about it. He obvoiusly loved their time together and it wasn't the same out there without Andal. This:
I'm glad you all had him. But he was ours first. [x]
sounds pretty possessive and bittersweet to me. I think Shiro felt outright betrayed on a very personal level, since he knew there's no way Andal didn't see where this whole Dare thing is going. So him agreeing to it was like signing a death sentence to their ~happy days~ together, and unlike Cayde, Shiro didn't even get any say in it.
So yeah, Cayde and Shiro both didn't approve at all, even after they made up with Andal eventually and now I'm imagining how they both started whirring like two angry lawnmowers every time yet another Hunter approached Andal when they were in the Tower together adfghjdkfhgjks
And what about Tevis? Well, all we can do is speculate, since there're no evidences of how he felt about it. But I think the lack of it may be the evidence itself. Imo he was fine with it, clearly not as pissed off as Cayde and Shiro (then again, three of them was way closer to each other). Maybe sad they didn't get to run around together as often anymore, but Tevis naturally is a loner, so it didn't hit him that hard. He just hung out with Andal in the Tower from time to time and had fun by scaring kinderguardians away with his charming personality 😂
Andal: Hey, welcome to the Tower! Always good to see another Hunter here :)
Tevis: Yeah, welcome to the big white ball's slavery, sucker. How was your graveyard?
