Now, imagine if you will: You work at the town's most popular bakery, though it was supposed to be your day off. But half the town is still without power from a heavy snowstorm the night before, so you showed up for work anyway, knowing they'd need extra help at the counter this morning.

The line is out the door, but everyone is friendly because they're grateful they can still grab hot coffee and some fresh pastry & donuts. You're looking a bit of a mess from the rush, loose tendrils from your messy bun framing your face, a blotch of powdered sugar on your cheek. And you haven't quite focused on the next man line with the Grateful Dead cap, who seems snugly warm in his thick parka & scarf. You jut out your lower lip to try and send a breath to cool the perspiration on your brow. He speaks before you have a chance to look up at him--and you recognize his smooth, velvet voice in half a heartbeat.

Your eyes go wide as saucers when they finally meet his behind his specs. Ohmygosh whooshes out before you can think of something smart to say. You’ve admired this man--face it, crushed wildly, been obsessed over, wished a thousand, thousand times that science would come up with a way to clone the perfection you found him to be--and you vaguely remember hearing that he’s on location locally for a romantic comedy he’s making. Obviously, he’s used to your reaction, because his mouth ticks up slightly in the beginning of that crooked smile that you adore. Was one of the first things you had come to sigh over about him.

There’s a amused warmth in his eyes that feels as though it’s just for you, so that you have to smile back, despite the flutter of butterflies in your stomach (blue butterflies, your mind whispers, always and forever they are blue), which causes him to smile in full. 

The cap shades his eyes enough so that you just can’t tell if they’re more green or blue today; your friends are sure to ask, and how can you give a proper answer? If only he would lean in just a bit! They flit to your name badge for a moment, then he looks right back at you. “Good morning, Y/N...” 

You give a little squeek to hear your name from his delectable lips. In your fantasies, of course, you’d heard that before--but the reality of it made you wonder if you’d died and gone to heaven. You blinked several times before you found your tongue. “Good? Good...” you nodded, “It’s...it’s...this has to be the best morning ever!”

You felt his answering chuckle like a sudden pleasant warmth in your sternum and a blush filled your cheeks. Moments later you realized you hadn’t even asked how you could help him. “Um...sorry...I should...I just...” Some part of you was memorizing his face for real. The beautiful crinkles beside his eyes and the smile lines. The sweet freckling that movie make-up often hid, but which you had always found dear. The astonishing arch of his cheekbones and the plumpness of his lower lip. With that little comma shaped scar beneath which you vaguely remember came from an accident he’d had while wearing braces. Altogether, an imperfectly perfect face--and one that often brought you a calm serenity when you saw it appear on your computer or television screen. And that scruff, that auburn scruff. You’d never had expected to prefer him in whiskers over clean shaven, but since he’d become Doctor Strange, you felt you couldn’t get enough of him that way...

(UGH - so I started this on a sudden inspiration, but I’m stuck right now for how to finish it. But as I so rarely write anything new, I’m gonna post it now, and hope to finish later. Or if someone else whould like to take it up/add to it, that might work as well. Oh, and I’d wanted him to order several coffees and whatever Y/N suggests is good for he and some friends that planned to do some snowshoeing afterwards.)

My Beautiful Obsession:  Cause of Death- Cumberbatch

I just reblogged a b&w pic set of Casualbatch, and it hit me like a ton of bricks--for it reminded me that good-looking celebrities are usually even more so in person.  Like I once saw this actor from a soap opera across the street from me, in NYC, and damn, I had always thought, yup, he’s tall & silver-haired & soap-opera good looking, but in real life HOLY SHIT he was GORGEOUS...and that was more than 20 years ago, and I still marvel at how astonishingly handsome he was.

And then I realized that I am going to see Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch in about 98 hours (I did the math) and no matter what he wears, no matter how his hair is styled, be he Glassesbatch or no--I am probably going to freaking die from all the beautiful, for surely my old heart won’t be able to handle it in person...

...so if I don’t make it back alive, just know that I love you all, and the times I spent here with you indulging in the worship of this same said man-gift-of-heaven-to earth has made my life a happier one.

Alright BC, I’m ready; hit me with your best shot; fire away!

This is probably an unpopular opinion.

But this is a post celebrating Benedict’s sometimes bad fashion sense.

Personally I prefer it when he dresses himself, no matter how “fashionably offensive” it is. Coz it’s more honest, it’s what Benedict picked out and thought “yeah….I’ll wear this today :> ” and I think that’s much much cuter than when it’s fashionable but not picked out by him. His own personal bad fashion is always a million times more attractive to me than an overly perfect but ultimately dishonest fashion
