Steph having been batgirl is good and right to me but i think it would be even better if she got to quit it on her own terms. Hand the cowl back to cass not as a sign of giving up or getting thrown away again but as a sign of growing out of it. It would be her realizing she doesn't need to continue proving herself to the bats and waiting on them to tell her what she can and cant do (not that she really ever did that. but its what was expected of her). She could establish herself on her own as a vigilante and continue working alongside them without being so tightly tied to them by carrying one of their names. Yes the bat sign on her chest feels like success and power for a while but eventually she would realize she doesn't need the bat to be any of that
