What Documents Do You Need to Sell Your Junk Car in Kansas City
Selling a junk car is a great way to clear up space and make some extra cash. However, to ensure a smooth and legal transaction, you’ll need to have the right documents in order. This checklist will help you gather everything you need when you’re ready to sell your junk car.
Vehicle Title
The most important document you need to sell your junk car is the vehicle title. This proves that you are the legal owner of the car and have the right to sell it. If you’ve misplaced the title, you’ll need to request a duplicate from your local DMV before proceeding with the sale.
Identification
You’ll need a valid form of identification, such as a driver’s license or state ID, to prove your identity when selling your car. This is necessary to confirm that the person selling the vehicle is indeed the owner.
Proof of Ownership
If you don’t have the title, you might still be able to sell your junk car with other proof of ownership, such as the car's registration or bill of sale. However, this can complicate the process, and not all buyers will accept alternative documents. It’s always best to have the title, but if you’re unsure, consult with Cash for Cars to see what alternatives might be acceptable.
Release of Liability
A Release of Liability form is crucial as it absolves you from any future responsibility for the car after the sale. This means that if the car is involved in any incidents after you’ve sold it, you won’t be held liable. Be sure to submit this form to your DMV as soon as you sell the car.
Odometer Disclosure Statement
Some states require an Odometer Disclosure Statement when selling a car, even if it’s junk. This document records the mileage at the time of sale and helps protect both the buyer and seller from fraud. Check with your local DMV to see if this is required in your area.
Lien Release
If there’s still a loan on your car, you’ll need to provide a lien release from the lender, proving that the loan has been paid off and the lender no longer has a claim to the vehicle.
Bill of Sale
While not always required, a bill of sale is a good document to have. It acts as a receipt for the transaction, detailing the sale price, date, and information about the buyer and seller. Some states mandate it, so check your local regulations. Are you ready to sell your junk car? Here at Cash for Cars, we buy junk cars in Kansas City at the best price. Summary: You've always hunted alone. That is, until Bobby sends you on a hunt near the Winchester brothers. How will things change when they come to help?
Word Count: 2.5k
Warnings: 18+, series typical violence and monsters, weapons, cursing, groping/ almost sexual assault, self-doubt/ self-esteem issues, character death, injuries, hurt/comfort
Author's Note: Hello friends! This is something I'm working on, but it has gotten long enough that I know I'll have to split it up (and I'm excited and can't wait longer to share it lol). You have just hit the city limits of Kensington, Kansas when your car decides to call it quits. You manage to pull your car off to the side of the road, the engine spitting and sputtering before stopping altogether. You lay your forehead on the steering wheel and groan, “whyyyyyy?”
You almost pull out your phone to call Bobby back and see if any other hunters are close enough to take the case, but your pride stops you. You’re still a relatively new hunter and feel like you need to prove yourself. You’ve done well for yourself so far, no major injuries and usually finished hunts within two days of arriving, but you don’t want to jinx your progress. Sighing, you get out of the car, grabbing your duffel bag of hunting supplies and your backpack of clothes from the back seat. Squaring your shoulders, you start walking into town.
After about ten minutes of one foot in front of the other, you find a motel that looks promising: just run down enough for what you need. You walk into the office, finding a big burly bearded man, probably mid-50s, reading a newspaper. He glances up when you enter, his gruff voice mumbles out “how long?”
“Day by day. I’ll let you know early each day if I still need it the next night.”
He eyes you for a moment. “Cash?”
You pull out some cash and count out $100, placing it in front of him on the counter without a word. He takes it, nods at you and places a key on the counter. “Room 11. Farthest one to the left. You’re paid for three nights.”
You pick up the key and leave the office, heading left toward your temporary base of operations. You immediately break into your duffel bag, cleansing the room with a smudge stick, laying out your mats with sigil traps embroidered into them, and applying salt lines to the windows and door. You have the room properly protected within three minutes. You pull out your phone to start researching the deaths that brought you here but you’re greeted by a text message from an unknown number.
[Unknown 11:02AM: Hey, Bobby said you were in our area. We’ll be around if you need any help]
You stare at it for a moment before calling Bobby, who picks up on the second ring, “you make it okay?”
“Yeah, Bobby. My car broke down but I made it. Who did you give my number to?”
“I’m guessing the boys reached out to ya finally?”
The boys?, you wonder. Considering what you know about Bobby, that could only mean one set of brothers. “You mean you gave my number to the Winchesters? And what do you mean ‘finally?’ Bobby, you know I work better alone. You know, far far away from big of heart but dumb of ass.”
“Look, Y/N,” you can hear him breaking out his dad voice on you. “I just wanted them to know you were nearby. I gave them your info a while ago, I’m surprised it took them this long to reach out. I want you safe, they’re close by, and they’re good people. You’ll get along.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m sure they are, Bobby. I just prefer to stay out of the drama that comes with… all that. Their names are practically synonymous with trouble and apocalypse at this point.” You sit on the edge of your bed, picking at a stray thread on your jeans.
“Yeah, and they’ve saved all our asses, yours included, each time,” he reminds you. “Plus, Dean knows his way around cars and could probably get yours fixed up for ya.”
“Okay, Bobby, I get it. I’ll message them back.” You and Bobby say your goodbyes and hang up, leaving you staring once again at the text message.
[Y/N 11:06AM: Which bro do I have the pleasure of speaking with?]
[Unknown 11:06AM: Sam]
[Y/N 11:07AM: Alright, Tweedledee. Bring Tweedledum. I’ll need his car brain. Meet at the diner on Main?]
Without an immediate reply, you start looking into the deaths, looking for any connections between the victims. So far, there have been five mysterious deaths of prominent people in the community and each one has died differently: heart ripped out, throat slit, neck snapped, blood drained, and blunt force to the head.
[Sam 11:10AM: See you at the diner at 12]
50 minutes. More than enough time for you to grab a quick shower, check your supplies, and walk there. Guess I’m dancing with death this time. You sigh, and get to work.
*
Walking into the diner at 11:50AM, you sit at a booth in the back, facing the door. Front door, back door through the kitchen, windows on three sides, your brain automatically on alert in case of any threats. You’re in your FBI monkey suit, intending to question families after a quick meeting with the Winchesters. Your iron knife is against your right ankle, silver knife is against your left, and pistol is loaded and in a shoulder holster under your jacket, resting under your left arm. You are locked and loaded, ready to get this case over with.
[Y/N 11:51AM: Corner booth by kitchen]
You are pretending to look at the menu for less than two minutes when you hear the rumbling of the infamous Impala. They park out front, both unfolding their legs to get out of the car. Damn, they’re tall and hot, the stories did not do them justice. Dean’s unruly light brown hair is spiking in all directions, green eyes glittering in the sunlight. He’s wearing boots, dark jeans, a black tee, red plaid shirt unbuttoned, and leather jacket. Pistol in his jeans at his waist, he’s right handed. Sam’s soft brown hair blows in the light wind, slight frown creasing his eyebrow above hazel eyes. He’s wearing boots, light wash jeans, blue plaid shirt buttoned, and a grey jacket. Also a pistol at his waist, he’s left handed.
Dean reaches the door first, opening and entering, with Sam close behind. Sam is looking at his phone, looks up at you and points his brother in your direction.
“Y/N?” Dean asks, standing next to your table.
“That’s what my ID says.” You gesture at the seat across from you, indicating they should join you. Sam slides in first and Dean sits on the outside.
“Nice to finally meet you,” Sam says, offering a handshake which you take. “Bobby speaks very highly of you. I’m Sam, this is Dean.”
Damn he has a nice smile. “Yeah, I know who you are. Pretty sure I knew your names my first day on the job.”
A waitress makes her way over to your table. Probably in her 20s, thin and short with long brown hair, her high pitched voice cuts through the air “Welcome in, what can I get started for you all?”
The boys order coffee, Dean gets a burger and Sam gets a chicken wrap. You order a coffee and a salad. The waitress writes it all down and walks away, saying she’ll be right back.
“So, Sammy mentioned car troubles?” Dean asks, looking outside. “Which car?”
“It’s not out there. It’s on the side of the road coming into town. Broke down on my way in.”
The boys both look at you in concern. “You’ve been walking around town?” Sam asks.
You shrug, “the exercise keeps me alive. A moving body is a living body. I don’t mind. But I will need it fixed for when I’m done here, if you don’t mind.”
The waitress brings your coffees to your table, you each mutter a thanks.
“I can take a look at it when we’re done here.” Dean says, then he looks you up and down, eyeing your suit, “unless you have other plans?”
“No, that’d be great. I can go do my thing while you do yours.”
“Perfect,” Dean says, “Sammy can go with you.”
“Whoa-” “Wait-” You and Sam speak at the same time. Sam stops speaking but you continue, “I’m fine alone. I won’t need help.”
“Well, Princess, looks like you do need help since your car is MIA.” Dean says, a smug smile on his face.
You stare at him for a moment, eyes squinted, debating if the fight is worth it. “Fine.” You look at Sam, “do you have your suit?”
“Oh, uh, yeah, it’s in the car,” Sam says, shocked that you gave in so easily. The brothers know how stubborn you can be from the stories Bobby has told them. “I can grab it and change after we eat.”
The waitress brings the ordered food to the table, placing it in front of each of you. She checks if you all need anything else, and leaves the bill on the table when you all say no.
Dean speaks with a mouth full of burger, “alright then, it’s a plan.”
Sam tries to initiate small talk a few times as you all eat, but you keep your answers short, hoping he’ll take the hint. The last thing you need is to form any sort of relationship with the Winchesters. The word around hunters is that being around them guarantees a death sentence, and you’d like to stick around for at least a few years longer. Plus, the less you worry about others, the more you can worry about yourself.
You place cash on the table for the bill, covering all three meals plus tip. You stand and the brothers follow. “Dean, drop us at the Sunrise? Sam can grab you two a room, change and then we can head out on foot from there. A little exercise okay, big man?”
“Uh, yeah, I like exercise. That’ll be fine.” Sam responds.
You ride in the back seat, Dean drives and Sam is in the passenger seat. Metallica plays through the speakers and you hum along, looking out the back window. You can feel Dean periodically glancing at you in the rear view mirror and Sam watching you through the side view. You ignore them, focusing instead on making a plan.
Dean drops you both at the motel, giving you his phone number while Sam goes into the motel office to book a room, duffel bag over his shoulder. You send Dean a blank text so he has your number, and you give him your car keys along with a description and location. Sam comes back out with a key when Dean pulls away to go find your car.
“Got it,” Sam says, holding the key up and walking to room 9. “Leave in five?”
“Sure, Sam. See you in five.”
*
With some strong pushing on your part, you and Sam agreed to split up, him starting with the most recently deceased’s family and you with the first, and planning to meet somewhere in the middle. Your visit with the Miller family was abnormally short, the widow very skeptical of you and short with her answers. She certainly wasn’t forthcoming with any information, and you’re sure she knows more than she let on. Maybe she’ll respond better talking to a man. Sam does have kind eyes. You shake that thought away, walking up to the Furgeson house now, hoping that Mister Ferguson will be more willing to answer your questions.
[Y/N 1:38PM: At second house now. No luck with the first. Very distrustful of me.]
[Sam 1:39PM: I’m still with the Taylors. We can circle back to her together later. Be safe.]
You roll your eyes, a smile threatening to form. Damn him and his niceness. You hate to admit it, but you are starting to enjoy working with him. You can feel your heart opening up to the idea of being friendly with the brothers. You are walking up the steps of the sidewalk when a police cruiser pulls up to the curb behind you. Shit. Nowhere to run and I doubt I can lie my way out of this. You send off a quick text to Sam, hoping he’ll read between the lines and understand.
[Y/N 1:39PM: I love you too, sweetie. I was never a big fan of brass, but the silver bracelets look nice.]
“Excuse me, we got a call about an FBI officer in the area,” the cop calls out to you. You turn your phone off and turn around to face him. He’s short, stout, bald, and scowling at you like you are the root of all problems.
“Yes, can I help you?” you answer, still keeping some hope that you can get out of this.
“I spoke with the FBI office this morning, they said they weren’t going to send anyone.” he answers, looking you up and down.
“Well I’m just following orders from higher up.” You reach to pull out your badge, but stop short when you see his hand move to his pistol. “Easy,” you say, “just grabbing my badge.”
“Not interested,” he says, pulling out his pistol and aiming at you, “turn around, get on your knees, put your hands on your head.”
“Okay, okay,” you comply, doing as he asked. He moves forward, grabbing your hands and roughly cuffing you behind your back. He picks you up and leads you toward his car, reading you your rights.
*
Sam is sitting on the living room couch inside the Taylor household, Missus Taylor sitting in a chair across from him. He stares at the message you sent, trying to make sense of the message you sent. Brass… silver bracelets… damn it. “Thank you for your time, Missus Taylor. We’ll reach out if we have any further questions,” he rushes to hand her a business card and practically jogs out the door, dialing Dean.
“Yeah?” Dean answers on the second ring.
“I think something’s wrong. I think Y/N got arrested,” Sam says.
“Well shit.” Sam can hear the clang of tools being dropped through the phone.
Sam knew they shouldn’t have split up. From what he has heard, Y/N is one of the best hunters out there. But Sam is kicking himself, he knew that people around here could be extra suspicious of outsiders and he still let her go off on her own.
“What do you need from me, Sam?” Dean asks.
“I’m not sure. Give me a second.” Sam takes a deep breath. He’s sure he could figure out a way to get Y/N out of jail, but it could take a couple days before the courts decide on her bail amount, and that’s if they do. It’s also been a couple days since the last death, so another person could be targeted any second. “Okay,” he finally says, “I have an idea. But I need you to take over the case for a bit.” Sam fills Dean in on what he knows and who still needs questioned. Dean agrees to pick up where they left off, saying he’ll get right on it. The brothers end their call, and Sam starts his journey toward the police station, making another phone call.

JFK probably didn’t have to pay people to keep the facts of his sex life under wraps—investigative standards of his day weren’t what they are now—but given the car-trunks full of cash that gained him victory in the 1960 West Virginia primary, we know he was hardly above under-the-radar payoffs. When he was president, one of his girlfriends was the girlfriend of the leading gangster Sam Giancana—not a “porn star,” just somebody with whom pillowtalk crossed a number of far more dangerous lines than Trump’s pre-presidential escapade with Stormy Daniels ever did. In 1932, FDR made deals with the New York and Chicago mobs to win the party nomination and handed out federal patronage) without compunction to criminal operators like the Kansas City boss Tom Pendergast, Harry Truman’s patron (Truman of course had family members in no-show jobs on his Senate office payroll).

A 78-year-old woman with two past bank robbery convictions was arrested again for a third heist in Missouri, police said.
Bonnie Gooch walked into Goppert Financial Bank and allegedly handed a note to the teller demanding thousands in cash.
She also left a note saying "Thank you sorry I didn't mean to scare you", before driving off with the cash.
Gooch now sits in jail with a bond amount of $25,000 (£20,129).
Wearing a black N95 mask, black sunglasses and plastic gloves, she entered the bank on 5 April and slipped the teller a note that said, "I need 13,000 small bills", according to court documents obtained by the Kansas City Star.
Surveillance video shows Gooch at one point banging on the counter, mandating a speedier delivery of the cash, prosecutors said, before leaving in her Buick Enclave with its handicap registration displayed.
Pleasant Hill Missouri Police Department officers responded to calls of a "robbery in progress" at around 15:20 local time (21:20 BST) and found Gooch in her vehicle smelling strongly of alcohol, and cash strewn across the floor, prosecutors said.
Gooch was arrested and charged with one count of stealing or attempting to steal from a financial institution.
"When officers first approached her, they were kind of confused ... It's a little old lady who steps out," Pleasant Hill Police Chief Tommy Wright told the Kansas City Star. "We weren't sure initially that we had the right person."
However, this is not Gooch's first run in with the law.
She also has two other convictions. One for a robbery in California in 1977, and the other for a bank robbery in 2020, where she reportedly handed the teller a birthday card that had "this is a robbery" written into it.
Her probation for the 2020 robbery ended in November 2021.
Mr Wright said Gooch had no "diagnosed" ailments, but due to her age, the department is trying to determine if any underlying health factors could have contributed to the incident.

I Gave My Heart To The Junkman
Yesterday I sold my best friend to a stranger for $315.
This was, of course, far less than what a 2005 Kia Sedona ought to fetch, even for scrap alone. There were certainly a lot of useful parts still tucked inside ... but beyond any question of material worth, the sentimental value was incalculable. After all, I had poured so many financial and emotional resources into this long-term relationship, and steadfastly made repairs whenever the need arose, and had shown more unflagging devotion to this soccer-mom minivan than I had for some of my boyfriends, jobs, teeth, and homes. She was my first car, and like any first love, a first car carries a special significance.
I bought my Pamela in March of 2017, springing her from a dusty little shitpot in Bonner Springs, Kansas. I paid $2300 in cash for her, and easily poured ten times that amount into repairs. In just under six years, I replaced her starter, radiator, alternator, thermostat (twice), drive shafts, brakes, catalytic converters, power steering pump, rear shocks, rack and pinion, tie rods, hub and bearing, window motor, door actuator, timing belt, alternator belt, EGR valve, purge solenoid, charcoal canister, air conditioning compressor, cooling fan, valve cover gasket, tensioner and idler pulleys, exhaust Y-valve, oxygen sensors, hood struts, coils, hoses, filters, batteries, rear window, and three camshaft position sensors. We broke down in Iowa, Colorado, Washington, and Florida. We blew tires in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and Georgia. I got to know the various components of my vehicle, one by one, as they fell apart.
Last week, she failed to start. In and of itself, this wasn't anything new, as she had crapped out so often in the past. But this time felt different, somehow. There was something so final about this silence. I knew, in that moment, that Pamela just didn't want to go any further. She had gone far enough.
With a heavy heart, I made arrangements with the junkman to come cart her away. I took the next few days to clean her out, retrieving all the tools, camping gear, and souvenirs I had stashed in her crates and cargo areas. The last thing I removed was the bobbing statue of Hula Girl, which I had glued to the dashboard back in Missouri. Her nose had gotten chipped in Iowa, when a sudden crosswind thwacked my camera's lens cap across her face ... but her irrepressible smile and cheerful ALOHA had accompanied me for over 99,700 miles, and I couldn't bear to leave her behind. I did, however, tear off the last few shreds of her disintegrating grass skirt, which no longer afforded her any dignity.
I sat for a long while in the driver's seat, holding the wheel that had been in my hands for thousands of hours. Its foam grip had been shredded by the stress of too many white-knuckled rides, all those times when I prayed for us to make it through blinding downpours or snowstorms or terrifying deep country two-lanes or narrow construction zones.
Sitting there, like a kid playing vroom vroom in the family car, I recounted some of our many adventures aloud. "Remember driving down the Vegas Strip? That supercell catching up with us in Valentine? That sunset in the wind farm? Heading out to the Olympic Coast? Devil's Tower? Ed Gein's place? Tinkertown? Bonneville? Waco? That refinery by Dodge City? Sunrise at Monument Valley? That one flat we got in Viroqua, and the farmer helping us change it? Dawn at Cades Cove? Those little hilltop dairy farms in The Driftless? The Badlands? The rim of Bryce Canyon? The meadow in South Park? The pueblos at Bandelier? Finding the trail at Butler Wash? The caves of Maquoketa? Picking up that hitchhiker in Dinosaur? Taking the Mountain Loop Highway up to Big Four? Morning mist on Steamboat Slough? The salmon run at Granite Falls? Taking the Alaskan Way Viaduct? Running along the Skykomish? The vultures on 312? Shiloh? Hooking up with the guys at Magnetic Springs? Going up Mt. Baker?" This went on for ages. Each memory brought to mind another, and another, experiences strung in sequence like beads on a string, a rosary of perils and deeds. After about ten minutes, my soliloquy devolved into a précis ... all I had to do was murmur "Kitty Hawk" and we returned immediately to one of the worst nights in our history, when we had to drive 700 miles through a tornado outbreak with a busted alternator and half a dozen batteries, sometimes driving blind in the rain without headlights or windshield wipers. We had so many close calls in our time together, and our survival sometimes seemed miraculous.
Finally, words failed me, and I wept. I sat there, finding myself once again broke and broken, a few weeks shy of turning forty-nine, devastated at another huge loss, crying my eyes out because my car wouldn't start.
Pamela had listened to me laugh, scream, sing. She heard my deepest secrets, my most buried fears, all the things I will never share with another living soul. She held space, literally and figuratively, as I processed early traumas, the kinds of injuries that had to be coaxed out of my soul like splinters. She kept me company as I mourned lost friendships, raged at failed opportunities, exulted over spiritual and professional victories, learned the lyrics to dozens of showtunes, and sifted through the smoldering wreckage of too many love affairs. She saw me at my very best and my very worst.
We traveled from coast to coast, crossed the Mississippi dozens of times, explored every kind of terrain in the continental US. We'd chased after tornadoes in Nebraska, dodged hailstones the size of tangerines in Oklahoma, coasted into Death Valley with squealing brakes, gunned through the Cascades on bald tires. We'd raced across salt flats and skidded out on gravel roads and slid on ice and got stuck in the mud. We climbed narrow mountain roads, corkscrewing upwards like a buggy in a Disney darkride, and were rewarded near the summits by whispering aspen groves and skies the color of lead. We followed thunderheads across hundreds of miles of cornfields, doubled back to photograph collapsing barns, got lost and found and lost again. We nearly ran out of gas on a stretch of moonlit desert, and were almost forced off the road by a madman near Mexican Hat. We saw insect swarms, murmurations of starlings, clouds rising from firs, incandescent sunsets, fogbound highways at 4:am, hazy feedlots, mine shafts, floodwaters, dust devils, wildfires. She had given me a treasury of beauty.
Pamela drove me to jobs in corporate office demolition, sanitation, construction site cleanup, disaster services, aerospace manufacturing, warehouse fulfillment, toy merchandising, and food delivery. She waited in parking lots while I went skydiving and whitewater rafting and hiking, while I ate, slept, got laid, gathered sharks' teeth, watched lions mate, and raised a circus tent. She carried me to zoos, sex clubs, cemeteries, battlefields, dormant volcanoes, dams, lighthouses, shipwrecks, museums, rodeos, waterfalls, weird roadside attractions, a nude beach, a monastery, a cassowary ranch, and the homes of countless friends. We saw Monterrey, Santa Fe, Orlando, Tukwila, Minneapolis, Fort Sumner, Little Rock, Mukilteo, Pensacola, Oso, Tulsa, Jupiter, Oakland, Bellingham, Eureka Springs, St. Louis, Mosca, Wichita, Portland, Pahrump, Ocracoke, Waco, Memphis, Sarasota, Montgomery, Estes Park, Vernal, Coeur d'Alene, Peoria, Birmingham, Lumberton, Des Moines, Topeka, Darwin, Beaverton, Bemidji, Enid, Deadwood, Hot Springs, Cullman, Austin, Ocean Springs, Chattanooga, Carlinville, Abilene, Darrington, Nashville, Moab, Pagosa Springs, McEwen, and innumerable parks, farms, rivers, and valleys. She took me to Judy Garland's birthplace in Grand Rapids and my own origin point in Ellensburg. We killed a hare near Ogallala and drove below arches made of lightning. We endured for far too long the joyless mazes of suburbia. She brought me into and back out of my homeland. She was my home at times.
Yesterday, a tow truck showed up on Reef Drive, our residence for the last four years. Pamela was marooned just behind her usual spot, along a hedge at the front of the property, in the shade of a nearby palm. A flock of scarlet ibises used to roost on her roof, and a clowder of feral kittens sometimes took shelter beneath her when it rained. There was a big rectangle where the grass had long ago given up and stopped growing. All of this was about to change.
The junkman was a friendly, toothless old chap named Thomas, and he had been doing this job for decades. His skin had been leathered by the sun, his hair bleached into straw, and save for the ball cap and tee shirt he looked exactly like a Gold Rush prospector. On his flatbed slumped a '71 Ford Bronco which had clearly seen better days. In any other circumstances, I'd be delighted to photograph such a wreck ... its windows were blown out, most of its panels were rusted, and it had an appealing patina of green mold, the sort of picturesque decay that I've spent decades documenting. But now it all seemed just too sad for words ... two old vehicles, far past their prime, being taken out to pasture. I thought of how horses used to get shot if they couldn't be ridden anymore.
Thomas indicated that my car seemed to be in pretty salvageable shape, though, and that she was likely to undergo a refurb rather than being scrapped altogether. This gave me a ray of hope that perhaps Pamela might yet play a special role in somebody else's life, and that just because our road had come to an end did not mean she herself was destined for oblivion.
I told him a little about the vehicle he was buying, how famous she was, how there were loyal followers around the world who had been cheering her on for the past several years. "This isn't just a car," I said. "Pamela's been through a lot. She's special." I told him about the memoir I published last year, about how we had traveled together over the whole country and seen the most incredible sights. He nodded and smiled and feigned interest, as he pointed out the numerous papers for me to sign off on. Then he handed me a check, which seemed pitifully small in my hands, and he set about hooking my poor old hooptie onto the tow rig.
I'd witnessed this ritual so many times ... the slow humiliating whine as my baby got hoisted into position, the rattle of chains around her undercarriage, the sinking helpless feeling as the tow truck lurched forward. I had already seen her get pulled away when her radiator blew up in Boulder, when her starter crapped out in Bothell, when her fuel lines got clogged in St. Augustine. But this time was different. This time there would be no joyful reunion at the shop. I stood across the street, and the reality of the situation hit me full force. Pamela, the car who had transformed my entire life, who had freed me from a desperately unhappy stint in Kansas City, who had framed most of America in her windshield, was leaving me forever. In a few minutes, she would disappear, and that would be that.
It's different in the movies, when a love story wraps up. Your heroes ride off into the sunset together, and the music swells, and THE END appears in big fancy letters over the clouds. And as the credits roll and you stand and brush popcorn from your lap you enjoy a tidy sense of closure. There is a clear sense of something having been finished, of a narrative having reached its rightful conclusion. My last few minutes with this minivan, on the other hand, felt weirdly anticlimactic and unsatisfying. I caught a few seconds of video on my phone as the tow truck began its journey. Then I just stood in the middle of the road with my arms hanging limply at my sides and watched as the most meaningful possession of my life rolled away, growing smaller and smaller until she reached the end of the block. And then the tow truck rounded the corner, and left my view altogether, and my Pamela was finally gone.
"Goodbye, old girl," I said, wiping my eyes. "Goodbye." Then I went back to my studio, returned to my easel, picked up a brush, and began the search for a new frontier.

“SEVEN YEARS WITH LASHES FOR M. SIMONS,” Brantford Expositor. November 4, 1932. Page 6. ---- Justice Moved Swiftly for Brantford Jewel Thief ---- His Wife Is Under Arrest Here Pending Investigation ---- Justice moved with bewildering speed to-day for Milton Simons, Brantford man, who was captured here yesterday, after robbing Land’s jewelry store at Hamilton of $2500 in jewels and cash. Pleading guilty to two charges of robbery while armed, he was sentenced to-day to seven years in Portsmouth penitentiary on each charge, the terms to run concurrently, and to receive 12 lashes six to be inflicted at the end of three months and six at the end of six months.
On a charge of stealing a taxicab, Simons pleaded not guilty. The charge was changed to one of taking a car without the consent of the owner and Simons was sentenced to six months which will be concurrent with the other terms.
Simons’ appearance in court today marked the end of his brief crime trail. He stalked into the jewelry store early yesterday, held up the clerk and a Montreal salesman, grabbed 32 diamond rings, three watches, and more than $100 in cash, and then left the store after tying up the clerk and salesman.
He entered the waiting automobile and drove towards Brantford. En-route he forced the taxi-driver to leave the automobile and then continued his wild flight. Outside Brantford, he ran into a cordon of policemen who had been awaiting his appearance and 45 minutes after the robbery was en route back to Hamilton under guard.
WIFE ARRESTED Mrs. Elsie Simons, wife of Milton (“Nick”) Simons, was arrested here at a local hotel yesterday following the capture of Simons, alleged jewelry robber and holdup man here, earlier in the day.
The woman appeared before Magistrate S A Jones charged with vagrancy and at the request of Chief Stanley was remanded in custody for ten days until the chief satisfies himself about the valuable jewelry found in her possession.
Mrs. Simons, who gave her address as 212 Bay street, Hamilton, and who is stated to have lived in Chicago before she married Simons, has a fine wardrobe. Her appearance in court this morning bore out the statement of the police that she possessed plenty of very good and fashionable clothes. A white hat with white short fur coat and salmon pink and white dress made her conspicuous in the drab surroundings. Seated next to a local Indian woman arrested as a drunk, she presented a distinct contrast.
Mrs. Simons was interrogated by the police but appeared guarded in her statements regarding her husband and herself. Local relatives did not know of her presence here. She came to this city early yesterday morning, and police suspect this was part of a plan the pair made the night previous to the robbery. Police thought she might have been here to receive the stolen property.
Chief Stanley notified provincial officers and headquarters of city police in this country of the possession of the jewelry. Last evening Detectives Waterhouse and Strohn of Toronto came to the city to see if the jewelry was part of some recent hauls made in Toronto. They were not able to identify any of the goods taken from Mrs. Simons.
While Chief Stanley did not divulge the reason why he thought so he stated that he suspected the jewelry found in the possession of Mrs. Simons was stolen in Kansas City.
In the intervening ten days the police will send out a description of the jewelry and expect to have something definite.
It is also expected here that Mrs. Simons will be re-arrested by the Hamilton police as an accomplice in the robbery with which her husband is charged.
[AL: Simons was 29, married, had a long criminal history with sentences served in the Ohio State Reformatory and Michigan State Reformatory, was apparently trained as an electrician, and had a dagger tattoo on his left arm and shield with two clover leaves on his right. At Kingston Penitentiary, he was convict #2844 and actually ended up working in the electrician’s gang, but his conduct became increasingly irrational and he was considered in early 1934 to be mentally ill. He was transferred to Rockwood Mental Hospital shortly thereafter, and was ‘cured’ because he was back at the penitentiary by July 1936. He was released October 1937.]

Yes...
I want it.
Who does window tinting?
How much do you want for it and what market are you on?
That car is located in Loveland???
I used to live there in the 1980s.
I note that the auto has Sirius XM Radio.
Does that come with free service? Does the auto have an internal server or SIM card technology (usually for the purpose of GPS mapping).
If so, I would have to get a hold of a few people in Korea. Currently tritium is on the market, which comes from classified sources not to be discussed with those who are sane who would prefer to keep their sanity.
Currently I am unable to use common American digital transfer systems (which includes PayPal): I was enemy deresourced while on the Gambino market in the area of Vancouver Washington 98660 in contingency to an arrest in Portland Oregon and the case of a few serial killings in the area of Multnomah County. While everyone was selling bone jewelry, there where authorities killing people all willy nilly like, who then decided to patsify and lock up any and all persons on the street.
My old friends from K.U. (Theodore Flemming & Phillip Denton) where sort of paliperidone cooks who heavily head hunted in the jewish and gay rights activist circuits. Paliperidone is a medication that is commonly made out of the cranial tissue of children and mentally retarded people. I was busted in Oregon wearing bone jewelry which was not anything I killed, it was moreso bought from street vendor and malls. I am currently on Ko-Fi, which is the cannibal demographic out of New Zealand and the coast line. (See Also: Aural Vampire) They have staged a corporate takeover of the North West Coastline and have been making plastic. There are 11 plastics factories there and they are making plastics out of fat people and paliperidone out of military officers who have endorsed the slaying of endangered whales. So: everyone in America who uses the internet will probably be arrested for utilization of illegal digital transfers (a banking felony) and online banking systems... while everyone in the cannibal mafia and everyone Maori Tribe continue to get away with online purchases through use of Ko-Fi systems.
That reminds me: I need to sue K.U. & Bert Nash anyway for psychological trauma and felony medical malpractice. It was their medical systems that gave my neice the orangutan zygote as well as prescriped me cannibal class drugs, while subjecting me to the cannibal demographic as well as the corporate warzone. Let me forward this to my shrink in Oklahoma as well as a few lawyers in the areas of Kansas and Colorado. Kansas has come to be of the primary consumers of corporate cannibal product and byproduct.
Too: the Emporia area chamber of commerce.
If possible, that I find anyone willing to work for or with the hot topic: that should put together accounts for gasoline, firearm, and anti-human technologies, which would include mini movie projectors and every last luxury.
I should be looking at a sum in excess of a couple hundred thou sometime soon for my reports to policing agencies and authorities. I managed to procure the hack as to how to hunt someone down or find classified personal information such as real names, phone numbers, and addresses of everyday citizens and government employees. Then I used that to look up the top 100 list on America's Most Wanted. However, I was then met with a picture of John Walsh performing fallacio on someone else. So, I might be cheated out of that reward money as their executive teams are all a bunch of rude evil midget cocksuckers.
I have yet to link it to a bank account and have credit/cash resource.
Would you trade real estate?
I understand I am still the owner of 510 W. Funston, 67213. It's a 1/2 bedroom 3/4 bath 680 sqft house on I think 1/8th of an acre, Im not sure the lawn size: it's three city lots.
While kidnapped: my niece and mother used it as a squat to prostitute themselves and be right proper little heathen whores. It's always been in a sketchy neighborhood that is always quick to report prostitution and sodomy. However my mother being the gunpowder industry was able to dodge authorities.
Would I be able to get my drivers license reinstated through the dealership? Perhaps a temp license or would I require someone to pick me up?
You know, and get a hard copy of it once I am in Colorado?
I've been having to take a crap behind a tree and on the Amidon Bridge, which identity theives working for and with government seemed to have built with our identities: while slave driving corporations and corporate stock and shares that we demanded to be sold out.
Would Elway or any of his fans/employees want my VoIP number? (777-JOHN, Erie Penn)
I would trade it for an internet phone.
Debbie...
Do you know anyone hiring?
Do you know of anywhere I can park a car?
I seem to have found myself on the Gambino market which has been super-inflated. However: IBM having always BEEN on the Gambino Market has superinflated with them, so that has to be sold off too and I would need a cheque for it all.
I can type. However I am sure most people in those parts can too.
Loveland was where I took my first typing class at the age of 5 or 6. It was discussed to be a felony as we where too young to be trained and it was decidedly slave driving on basis of race and religion to teach children at Jews for Jesus how to type. Especially those under the age of 10.
That reminds me...
AFM technologies exist...
Hoverboards exist...
Everyone who saw the movie "back to the future" in the 1980s maintained that technology most certainly did not exist.
This means everyone is at a loss of everything: and they are bankrupted.
We need them taken to collections, that includes even you Sheriff in Spokane. You may go bankrupt AND resource me over the policing tips given and collected. Turn over your gold, even wedding bands and the electrical boards in your crack pipes. Gasoline does not pay for itself.
Oh...
and a divorce of all identity thieves claiming me.
Remind these people there is no spouse, no children.
Should they continue to bother me, they can always become the doctor prescribed and COURT ORDERED paliperidone.
It was truly a felony of the state of kansas....
for me to be given paliperidone in Douglas County, and for Lyon County to court order me to take it.
Joe Banker...
pay the man.

I joke about being surprised that I made it to 40. But in reality there have been moments and decisions that do make this feel lucky or fortunate at times. Not only to have made it - but to have made it to where I am - happy, successful, whole, and loved.
I had a phenomenal childhood. But then detoured the start of my "adult life" (not really adult - but convinced I was one) as a college dropout and a short stint of sleeping in my car or on random couches, cleaning concert venues at 2am for cash and selling vacuums door-to-door (or not really selling them... turns out I'm not great at that... luckily I had multiple other jobs to keep me busy) to becoming a self-taught developer and meeting my supportive husband to now being a published author and SVP of Operations in NYC who is fortunate enough to travel the world. Battling financial hardships and depression swings along the way. And with that comes the reminder that, dude, life is hard. It's rarely always easy... for anyone. There is some struggle that everyone has had to go through - whether you see it or not.
So, here I stand. 40 years old. Brought to you by hard work, perseverance, positivity, and being fortunate in opportunity to get the chances that I've been given. Point A to point B - with a huge detour in the middle. Along the way I've come to find myself, love myself, and learn I'm a badass. And if I'm fortunate enough - in another 40 years - I'll make it to point C...
With that... we celebrated the "making it to 40" with 40 locations! An idea born with a night in a bar over a few beers and a standard "R+K I have an idea!" conversation.
__________________
What started as 40 from august to august expanded to the start of 2023 to August 2024. Due to our loved people planning things that we want to join… before August 2023. This was the celebration of “omg Kassie survived 40 years - we never thought it would happen.” Maybe the next 40, I’ll be more careful so it won’t be so surprising. 40 “experiences” had to be #1 unique, #2 require the day and night in the location to count, #3 that’s it.

Navigating the Road to a New Car: Cash for Clunkers in Kansas City
Kansas City, located at the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri rivers, is renowned for its barbecue, jazz heritage, and vibrant cultural scene. It's also a city where a significant number of aging and high-pollution vehicles, often referred to as "clunkers," are still in operation. If you're a Kansas City resident and find yourself with a clunker that's more trouble than it's worth, there's a program that could provide you with a smooth road to a new car. This guide will take you through the process of participating in a Cash for Clunkers program in Kansas City, offering you a chance to part ways with your old vehicle and potentially acquire a newer, more eco-friendly one.
Understanding Cash for Clunkers Programs
Cash for Clunkers programs, also known as vehicle retirement programs, are aimed at reducing high-pollution vehicles on the road. They typically offer financial incentives to owners of old, less fuel-efficient, and high-emission vehicles to encourage them to retire their clunkers. These programs benefit both vehicle owners and the environment by promoting the removal of heavily polluting vehicles from the streets.
Step 1: Check Program Availability
The first step in navigating the road to a new car through a Cash for Clunkers program in Kansas City is to check if such a program is currently available. The existence of these programs can vary by region and may be influenced by state or federal initiatives. It's advisable to verify if a Cash for Clunkers program is currently active in the Kansas City area.
Step 2: Determine Eligibility
If a Cash for Clunkers program is available in Kansas City, the next step is to determine if your vehicle is eligible. Eligibility criteria often focus on factors such as the age and emissions rating of your vehicle. Older, high-emission vehicles are typically the primary targets. Ensure your vehicle meets the specific eligibility requirements of the program in your area.
Step 3: Gather Required Documentation
Once you've confirmed your vehicle's eligibility, you'll need to gather the necessary documentation to participate in the program. While these requirements can vary, common documents often include:
Vehicle Title: You must be the legal owner of the vehicle, and the title should be in your name.
Proof of Registration: Your vehicle should be currently registered, and you may need to provide documentation to prove this.
Identification: Personal identification, such as a driver's license, may be required.
Proof of Residency: Some programs may require you to prove that you are a resident of the area where the program is active.
Step 4: Contact Program Administrators
With your documentation in order, the next step is to contact the administrators of the Cash for Clunkers program in your area. They can provide you with the most up-to-date information, guide you through the application process, and answer any questions you may have. Contact information for program administrators is typically available on the official program website or through a hotline.
Step 5: Submit an Application
Program administrators will guide you through the application process, which often includes providing details about your vehicle, such as its make, model, year, and VIN. You'll also be asked to provide your documentation to prove ownership and residency.
Step 6: Receive an Offer
After you've submitted your application and all required documentation, the program administrators will review your materials. If your vehicle is eligible, they will typically make you an offer indicating the amount of money you can receive for retiring your clunker. The offer amount can vary depending on your vehicle's make, model, year, and emissions rating.
Step 7: Schedule an Appointment
If you are satisfied with the offer, you can schedule an appointment with a designated dismantler or recycler. These businesses work in collaboration with the Cash for Clunkers program to facilitate the retirement process. During your appointment, the dismantler will inspect your vehicle to ensure it meets the program's requirements.
Step 8: Complete the Transaction
Assuming your vehicle passes the inspection, you'll sign the necessary paperwork to officially retire your clunker. You will typically receive your monetary incentive, which can be in the form of a check or voucher. The dismantler will then take care of ensuring your clunker is dismantled and disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. This is a critical aspect of the program, as it guarantees the safe removal of high-pollution vehicles and reduces their impact on the environment.
Benefits of Cash for Clunkers Programs
Participating in a Cash for Clunkers program offers several advantages:
1. Environmental Impact: Retiring high-pollution vehicles helps reduce harmful emissions, contributing to improved air quality and a cleaner environment.
2. Financial Incentive: Vehicle owners receive a monetary incentive for retiring their clunkers. This can provide a financial boost and help offset the costs of acquiring a newer, more fuel-efficient vehicle.
3. Safety: Older vehicles are often less safe due to outdated safety features. Retiring a clunker and transitioning to a newer vehicle can enhance safety for the driver and passengers.
4. Fuel Efficiency: Newer vehicles tend to be more fuel-efficient, resulting in cost savings over time and reduced fuel consumption.
5. Recycling: The program promotes responsible recycling of vehicles, ensuring that parts and materials are salvaged and reused when possible, reducing waste and conserving resources.
Conclusion: Embarking on a New Journey
Cash for Clunkers in Kansas City provide an excellent opportunity for vehicle owners to part ways with their old, high-pollution clunkers while receiving a financial incentive to transition to a more environmentally friendly vehicle. These programs offer a dual benefit of improving air quality and reducing emissions, all while providing a financial boost to participants. So, if you have a clunker that's ready to retire, consider participating in a Cash for Clunkers program to pave the way for a new journey and contribute to a cleaner and safer environment.

Bat Masterson 1879:
In his late teens, Masterson and his brothers Ed and Jim left their family's farm to hunt buffalo on the Great Plains. In July 1872, Ed and Bat Masterson were hired by a subcontractor named Raymond Ritter to grade a five-mile section of track for the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad. Ritter skipped out without paying the Masterson brothers all of the wages to which they were entitled.
It took Masterson nearly a year, but he finally collected his overdue wages from Ritter, at gunpoint. On April 15, 1873, Masterson learned that Ritter was due to arrive in Dodge City, Kansas, aboard a Santa Fe train and that Ritter was carrying a large roll of cash. When Ritter's train pulled in, Masterson entered the car alone and confronted him and marched him out onto the rear platform of the train, where he forced him to hand over the $300 owed to him, his brother Ed, and a friend named Theodore Raymond. A loud cheer then went up from a large crowd which had witnessed the event.
